Guest Reviews
- frank (10/5): - yes
- Ken (10/5): - Very clean
- Joanne (10/5): - Clean room, fresh and simple but everything you need for a good price. Quiet sleep.
- Jonathan (8/5): - I enjoyed. The wifi. Thw bed was comfortable. Very clean. Only downside was the washroom. It was a bit small.
- warren albert (10/5): - Nice area and close to downtown.
- Renee (10/5): - Beautiful place! Really enjoyed our stay!
- Joshua (2/5): - Not great, last resort, didn’t have our room
- Christine (10/5): - The room was very clean. Our bed was comfortable and the innkeeper was pleasant and respectful.
We were content here.
- Alexandra (10/5): - I needed a bed and bathroom for the weekend, it was perfect for that. Parking was easy. There isn't many late night food options around so plan accordingly, but the room had a fridge and a microwave!
Lots of towels and the bed had lots of pillows. Would have been nice if they had a hairdryer and conditioner, but otherwise a very nice stay!
Check out is early 10AM however they have check in until 1030pm so that was very handy.
- Lauren (10/5): - The location is perfect, the hotel rooms are very clean and very cozy. The owner is incredibly sweet. I could definitely stay here again.
- Catherine (8/5): - We were here for a quiet, 2-night stay with another couple. The price was right, the location was great. The bed was comfortable, but overall the room was a bit dingy. No hangers or rod in the closet, tight little bathroom and no housekeeping. It didn’t really matter to us, as we just wanted a place to lay our heads at night.
We definitely wouldn’t rush back here, but it was “fine”.
- Murat (6/5): - The rooms are small and poorly maintained. The beds are clean. The location is central.
- Anup (10/5): - Motel owner and staff are quite friendly and supportive. It's an old property, so it's not going glitter everywhere. But it's clean, decent and a very good customer service. And that's what we wanted to have a peaceful sleep. Bed is also very good.
- Geoff (10/5): - Beautiful place! Close to downtown and beach.
- deanna (8/5): - I like that the property is walking distance from the beach and the main strip. It also has a good size pool which the children enjoyed!
- Beth (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean. Lovely light bedding smelled great. Felt homey good value.
- David (10/5): - Just a short walk to Southampton Beach!
- Joshua (10/5): - Lovely family run business
- Elisabete (4/5): - We paid for a 2 bed suite but they charged extra for kids and a late charge for check out that was 5-10 minutes extra. It's too bad because the room was clean, although small.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great stay
- Belinda (10/5): - Second time staying there, and will definitely stay again!
- Nathalie (8/5): - X
- Kathleen (8/5): - Close to beach area. No continental breakfast or closet in the rooms but otherwise a nice stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good if you are just going to sleep - The curtains had a sheer panel in the middle and 2 black outs on eithe end and you couldnt close them to be able to block out the light in the morning. Did not enjoy that.
The toilets are very close to the wall and im only 5 4. Had to tuck my legs in to sit down. Also there is no mirror in the room besides in the bathroom above the sink which was too tall for me to look at my outfit and my daughter couldnt see even the top of her head
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cute spot! Would stay again! - Owners were super friendly and helpful. The rooms are definitely old, smells like an old cottage but it wasn’t terrible. The beds were super super comfy, I slept great! I like that there was a couch and a table and chairs in the room! Stayed in room 18. Didn’t have time to go in the pool but it looked clean and lovely!
- Sandra (10/5): - It was great experience
- HUIFANG (4/5): - Curtain not cover the window , no privacy and noisy
- Mark (8/5): - For the price this place was ok
- KRISTY HINELINE (6/5): Needs work - Check in was smooth and attendant was polite. Room was liveable, bathroom and beds were clean. Tv and A/C was in good working condition. Room smelled like mildew and looked to have some water damage on baseboards and wall. Room could use a complete remodel. Walls needed painting and carpet removed. You get what you pay for but $175/night is ridiculous.
- Trevor (10/5): - Nice room
- Inez (8/5): - Had a problem with our shower and it was fixed right away.
- Andy (10/5): - Very nice king size bed. Looks new floor and bathroom. We enjoyed for one night
- KRUNALKUMAR (10/5): - Beautiful property in the centre of the town at walking distance from Southampton Beach. Staff was very welcoming and excellent. Room was very neat and clean. Would return most definitely.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Bonnie (6/5): Sleep time - Mattress was so hard. Kept waking up as it was quite uncomfortable.
- Becca (10/5): - Very friendly and retreats feel with bonus volleyball beach
- Rosa (8/5): - You get what you pay for , staff was great
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hmmmm! - I don’t want to leave a review that may affect future bookings, the owner was a genteel person and did compensate for lack of pool use!
The place is definitely dated, the beds were comfortable and clean as was the bathroom and towels!
The pictures and some of the reviews were a bit misleading!
- maheen (8/5): - Good stay
Not too far from the beach
Friendly staff and checkin was fast
- amanda (6/5): - The property has a lot of potential, just requires some work which the new owner is working hard on. The rooms are dated and could definitely use a bit of TLC. The location is great, I would likely stay here again if I was in the area, with hopes that the pool area is open and some of the work was completed.
- orion (8/5): Affordable and Cute - This was well priced as a nice affordable motel near the beach. The toilet area was a bit cramped, but the room was not lacking anything.
- Mark (10/5): - This hotel is in a great location. Two restaurants across the street, the whole downtown strip just a 5 minute walk away and the the beach is also just a 5 minute walk. Owner was very friendly.
- Ashar (10/5): - Walking distance from the beach
- Michele da Silva (2/5): - I had terrible night smelling smoking in the room, even with the sign no smoking inside. I cannot sleep that night
- Dianne (8/5): - New owners, super nice. Clean , comfy, suited purpose just a bit old musty smell like a cabin, otherwise great! Thank you!
- rameez (10/5): - Very nice and clean, definitely worth the price!
- Grace (8/5): - It was good for the price.
- john (8/5): - Nice quiet area, bathroom is too small, shower would be better if a removable shower head could make the shower more enjoyable.
The instructions for the air/heating control should be in English.
Happy staff
- Anton (10/5): - The price was just right.
The service was quick and courteous.
Whenever I saw the owner, during my 3 night stay, he would ask me if I needed anything.
My room was clean, cozy and fulfilled my needs.
- Donna (10/5): - Friendly owner
- Wayne (6/5): - Close to downtown
- Joan I (4/5): - This place is incredibly run down but thats not the issue the issue is this...No one should be subjected to a room in a Motel or Hotel that is filthy under any circumstance and no matter how much was paid ( $160/night) in Canada.
Sheets and towels were surprisingly clean, front desk girl was nice but the positive experience ended there.
- Martin (8/5): - A good basic economical hotel. Very friendly staff and adequate kitchen supplies.
- BRENDA (2/5): - Disgusting, dirty, black shower floor, small, curtains not covering window, no service
- Colin (8/5): - The room has not changed in the last 50 years, damp musty smell so we had the air conditioner unit on all the time, eventually got the unit working as the instructions were in Chinese. The whole place needs a facelift and we will not be b@ck until it is done.
- Christian (8/5): It's a good affordable overnight stay. - The stay was pretty much worth the price you pay, especially on a long weekend. Also the owner was really friendly and so we felt taken care of well.
- Simeon (8/5): Friendly and accommodating staff - The staff were amazing and friendly. They accommodated our late check-in and early checkout times.
The rooms were dated but functional.
- carolynne (8/5): - Spider and cob webs should be swept down and a coffee maker should be supplied not just a kettle
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The rooms need some major work and repairs. The bathroom was gross. The toilet was so close to wall you had to sit on side. The shower was in bad shape and exhaust fan totally plugged. The walls need repainting and electrical definitely not to code. Such a shame as with a bit of money and some work it could be a decent motel.
- Donna (10/5): - Very nice
- Donna (6/5): - It is not fancy. It is affordable. Staff are very friendly. Linens and towels crisp and clean. Could it use some updating .... absolutely. Looking for somewhere affordable in the middle of a blizzard ... this is it. Smart tv if u have Netflix etc accounts. If you make a reservation ask them to turn on the heat. Baseboard heat takes along time to heat a single pane room.
- Randy (2/5): - I got there to check-in and the sign said “Open “ but there was no staff member. I called the motel number and a lady said she could be there in about one hour. I decided to try another place.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful but washroom showed signs of mold and could’ve used a deep cleaning. Tired and outdated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was clean and safe. Liked fridge and table. Please put deadbolts on doors and top sheets on beds. Maybe a coffee maker. Thanks for the stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Dirty bloody towels hanging in closet upon arrival.
There should be a sign stating "plug in fridge/turn power bar on".
There should be sign stating "turn knob to lock door" as we (other renter and myself) left doors unlocked.
I tried to contact location few times prior to arrival with no response for question.
- Carrol (8/5): Love Southampton area - Stayed only one night wifi didn’t work in the room which was disappointing service was good
- Lisa (4/5): - This hotel is conveniently close to restaurants, shopping, and the beach. The cleanliness of the room was lacking. The bathroom was dirty, the shower was dirty, and there were spiders and cobwebs in both the bathroom and the bedroom. I don't plan on staying there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A nice motel, a little dated and needs an improved kitchenette area. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location, 2 blocks from the beach.
- Janice (8/5): Has all you need - Our stay was very good. The owners are very friendly and helpful and are working all the time. Not fancy but has all the basics you need. Location is great, within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and the beach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Think they are just starting off , in the business . Very willing to help . Just had to ask for anything and we received . Pleased with everything would go back .👍
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was close to Tim Hortons, Rexall Drug Store, Restaurants are close by, Beach is a couple blocks away.
Very dated, rug needs to be clean.
Owners are very nice.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Although maybe clean appeared dirty, especially the bath. Shabby in need of repair.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location. Facilities are in good conditions.
Very friendly staffs.
Overall, great experience! Two thumbs up.
- Ash (2/5): - This is a run-down place that is dirty decrepit and need Ms to shut down. Nothing works. The toilet wouldn't seat a 4 year old. I got a crick in my back for crapping sitting sideways on the seat. This is a disaster place. The manager/owner has language issues and is not there most times. This was a nightmare trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the motel and the location was in walking distance to stores and restaurants I would definitely stay here again in the future
- Verified traveler (4/5): You get what you pay for - Basic amenities and that too limited. No cleanix in the room. For this type of Motel the daily rate is excessively high, should be around $ 50.00 maximum
- Renata (6/5): - Enough by price... it is not fancy, but it is clean. It is close to the beach.
- jk (2/5): - Worst ever. the room is cold and noisy. it is very old facility
- Johnny (8/5): - Good location
Friendly owner
We’ve had a spacious room with kitchenette, comfortable beds.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It sufficed what we needed. U cant beat the price.
- Gerald (10/5): - The manager was excellent checking in on me to make sure I was comfortable and asking if there was anything I needed. I definitely will stay there again. Also the rate was best I could find in the area.
- Erika (10/5): Great night stay - Was a nice room comfortable and clean staff was helpful will comeback
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice. Clean. Comfortable bed. Very good for the price.
- Sandra (10/5): - Location is great. Staff is very kind and friendly. Beds are comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a nice hotel to be able to stay at while close to beaches (sauble, tobermory)
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Close to downtown & the beach
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The property is run down and not maintained at all. Huge Spiders stuck on large cobwebs that hit you while going to your room. Pool not working and no surprise there as grass is weedy and overgrown.
Motel is dated but no excuse for the state of it.
The carpet in our room was sooooo dirty that instead of cleaning it they put another one on top. And the bathtub, oh my gosh...black dirt everywhere. We did bring any of our bags in for fear of any bugs going into them. We barely slept and did not use shower but instead used the towels to make a pathway to step on, as no way were we going to go barefoot. The toilet, diisgusting. Really disappointed that Expedia supports this hotel. I wish I could get a refund
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The local area is fantastic and the location of the property is good.
- Suzanne (4/5): Disappointed - Liked the location but the motel was dirty floors and bathroom. Only a little bit of bethroom paper went to get more and office closed went a few times. Not recommended
- Ginelle (8/5): Great location - Loved the location - right on the beach!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location - Pool is closed indefinitely as the liner is ripped and too expensive to fix. This should be posted on the site . Bed was clean and comfortable, bathroom clean but motel needs an update. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
- Sam (8/5): - The motel was close to the beach, restaurants and downtown. Great location and they also have a pool. It wasn’t open yet while we were there. The grounds are very pleasant with flowers in gardens and planters. They room itself was very comfortable, clean and cozy. However the bathroom was ridiculously tiny! We couldn’t sit straight on the toilet and didn’t even attempt a shower. The king bed was fantastic so comfortable. But the bathroom. Oh my. Overall a decent place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It’s close to everything that I ever wanted .. and the staffs were very kind and gentle
- charles (10/5): great get away. - our trip to Southampton was very nice. seen some interesting sights and met some new friends.the motel was clean and comfortable. will defenetly go there again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - When we arrived, reception was empty. we waited outside in the cold. The rooms were not very clean. In one of the rooms the power failed overnight, leaving that room without light or heat. We couldn't complain when we checked out because reception was empty again. with a sign saying back in 15 minutes.
- Cheryl (2/5): Should be shut down by health board. - Refused to stay was so dirty I would not allow my cat to stay there. Tub black, çurtains and rugs filthy, bed had no top sheet. FLET BUGS CRAWLING ON ME WHEN WENT TO VIEW ROOM.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient to all southampton has to offer by walk - Convenient. Electrical could be addressed.
Good comfort for price.
- Anees (8/5): - It was not bad at all, small washroom tho.
- Penster (8/5): Great motel, walking to the beach and restaurants. - The motel is walking distance to the beach and restaurants.
The room had a really comfortable bed and pillows.
