• Vytautas (1/5): TERRIBLE - location Room was FILTHY WORN OUT DUSTED AND FROM ICE AGE pictures of property probbably from 10 years ago I left property after first night, neither me nor booking couldn't reach property on weekend by phone, there was no one present at the property my booking reservation turned out very bad… I never had such an experience in using booking for past 10 years. I barely had sleep at night It’s 0% sound isolation. I’ve measured around 60dB 4-5am The World Health Organization (WHO) says that noise levels in bedrooms at night should not exceed 40 dB(A) for annual average and 30 dB(A) for good quality sleep, noting that exposure to night noise is linked to sleep disturbances, cardiovascular issues, and other health problems. I could hear every noice in outside room! 0% privacy Every word, ac, step, phone beep, every door close and opening, chairs moving, every toilet flush and shower in other rooms, every vibration downstair and upstair floors. Literally walls are vibrating when someone using a washing machine. All my room windows and doors are closed and still noice, I can’t even sleep. Hard to mention that window is to the hallway and all room is like a prison cell, nothing like pictures, looks like was takes many years ago. In the shower went dust is filled with debree, I’m allergic person, can’t really breathe normally. black mold in shower cabinet at tiles. Black mold is Biohazard Floors are discolored to black. Cracked walls. I found women hairs in bed. this is not what I expect paying Room has only 1 usable outlet for charging. if you wanna pee normally you have to put one foot in the shower, other “inside the wall” 310€ for 3 nights is crazy I’m without sleep and hard breathing issues, coughing from mold and vent/ac system clogged and toilet fan not even working.

• Rebecca (8/5): - Location is amazing. Close to everything! Staff is extremely kind and helpful. Rooms are quirky but totally functional for our needs. Appreciated the refrigerator in the room. There’s a club below the hotel so on the weekends there was some noise and cigarette smoke from the bar. Otherwise no complaints!

It's central to the main attractions and has good access to the metro and eateries. I did not expect that a lift wasn't available which was a slight issue for me as I had a large, heavy suitcase. • Olaf (9/5): Hab mich sehr wohl gefühlt. - Mario und sein Team waren unglaublich freundlich und herzlich. Die Sauberkeit ist hervorragend. Von Hand gebügelte Bettwäsche. Wo gibt es das noch!? Man konnte Mario und sein Team bei dieser Arbeit beobachten und es roch nach frisch gebügelter Wäsche. Das Zimmer war liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Lage war sehr gut. Mitten im Geschehen. Etwas ausgetretene Treppenstufen. Mit Gepäck in der Hand muss Mann schon etwas aufpassen.

• Chung (6/5): - Mario was very kind. When I arrived the hostal, he had an excuse that our stay won’t be available as reserved for some reason, he would take us a near by hostal ‘ el cataline’. The room was okay. But the noise never stopped until 6am in the morning. We stayed 2nights, 2 nights of noise from street, no sleep. The location was very good If good night sleep is important, stay out of city. People enjoy night life until 4am then the construction noise start from 4am.
• Markus (9/5): Eine sehr entspannte Urlaubswoche bei sehr angenehmen Temperaturen in einer belebten Umgebung. - Die Lage in diesem sehr lebhaften Quartier ist sehr gut. Weitere Quartiere sind in Fussdistanz gut erreichbar. Alles andere ist über die Metro "Chueca" rasch erreichbar. Es gibt jede Menge guter Restaurants in allen Preislagen und erreichbar in 5 Minuten. Das erste Kaffe am morgen, konnten wir uns im Zimmer selber machen. Die Treppe in den 2. Stock ist in schlechtem Zustand, gibt einen schlechten ersten Eindruck. Dies ist aber nicht in der Verantwortung des Casa Chueca.

Not the best if you have difficulties climbing stairs with your suitcase, but that’s how the buildings are in central Madrid. Lots of good restaurants that Mario suggested. Excellent location - walkable to everything!

No tiene ascensor y debí pagar 30 euros de más por haber llegado a las 1:30 am por qué no cuentan con recepción 24 horas, para algunas personas puede que la habitación sea muy pequeña.

• Georgina (8/5): Great Location, Mario is terrific, Price is great, No Elevator, Historic building, and Clean rooms. - Mario is the best. He texted beforehand to make sure he would be available upon our arrival. We had two rooms and the air conditioning was necessary as it was so hot and humid. The location is great, in between metro stops and Chueca is fun and lively and feels close to everything. The price is great, simple amenities and having a small fridge was great for cold drinks. I wish we would have known that there is a lively club on the corner, below the hotel. Also, it is on the third floor, no elevator, and we were fine with it, but if you struggle to get upstairs, not for you. The bathrooms are fine, showers are small, if you are in a bigger body, it will not be pleasant to shower.

• Zuzana (10/5): Amazing location and a cozy apartment. - We enjoyed our stay very much, the staff at Hostal Casa Chueca was very friendly. The apartment was being cleaned every day, including towel and bedsheet changing, which was very nice. The location was absolutely perfect. Even though there is vibrant nightlife in Chueca, the windows filtered out the noise from the street very well so we could sleep tight. There could be a disclaimer for there not being an elevator and the wooden stairs being quite steep. The only other thing worth mentioning is that the walls in the house were quite narrow (noise can be heard from the other apartments) yet we are aware that that might be a feature of Madrid's apartments in general and it didn't disturb our holiday at all.

We stayed 7 nights, had clean towels and cleaning everyday and fresh bed linnen twice during the stay. The staff is friendly and helpful.

• Max (10/5): LOVED my stay - I loved my stay at Hostal Casa Chueca. Mario is the best Host and made my stay amazing. He is so friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice and cosy and with a water boiler for my morning coffee :) Also the place is very quiet in the night, so I slept so good every night. During my stay there was huge power outage in Spain and Mario made sure I had a candle for the night and I could lend some euros from him to buy water and bread for the day until power came back and I could pay him back later before I left. I felt this was an amazing gesture from him and I was so happy. I can only recommend everybody to stay at Hostal Casa Chueca.
• Wma (9/5): Great for tourist - Location was great.Nearby Square with Starbucks and Coffee Shop. One minute from Gran Via and maybe 10 minutes from Sol. Bed was super comfortable. Some small things that didn't have an impact on the overall experience: There was a noise outside and two clubs were nearby, but the rooms were quite ok with sound isolation. I was travellingon business, and I bet this would be a plus if it was a touristic visit. There was a strong smell of a cleaning agent, but hey, it was very clean. There is no elevator, and the staircase is quite narrow.
• Nona (7/5): Note seven! - Very well located. Difficult access by stairs, 2nd floor and the stairs are only repaired up to the 1st floor. Then the cold in the room, the radiators were cold. Then the posters posted everywhere, posters targeting customer behavior?? To conclude, it is a location where I fully felt the pettiness and lack of kindness of the owner.
• Maria (10/5): Cute and central hostal - Clean room, very central located! Close to everything. A small balcony. Cleaned the room everyday. The stuff were lovely. It was a bit noisy outside, but I used earplugs.
• Garcia (9/5): Great host and excellent location. - Mario, the host, was extremely welcoming. I could deposit my things before checkout and he informed me when the room was ready. The room had everything we needed. Small but cozy and very well furnished and extremely central to everything we needed. Even though I booked the room specifically for the balcony to be able to smoke, we were not allowed to do so. Since the accommodation was just on the first level, it was not too far to go for a cigarette. Just bear this in mind when you book.
• Pablo (5/5): Although it’s a clean and nice place, the quality of the mattress are under par. I hope they change them - It was cleaned well enough every day and the staff was friendly. The mattress’ quality was bad. We didn’t sleep well. There’s no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. It’s a noisy neighborhood.
