Guest Reviews
- Jean (9/5): - Hot tub not working
- Jennifer (4/5): - The location and breakfast were ideal. We had loud noises all night from above us, the hot tub was not functioning, and the time breakfast was available was later than normal. The cost of the room was rather high priced as well.
- JENNIFER (5/5): - It was nice enough for one night. BEd was comfortable. Desk person allowed me to stay in another room. First room smelled. Pool needed to be fixed.
- Margaret (4/5): Don’t stop here, no elevator in bldg - No elevator in the building and we had to carry all of our luggage up a huge staircase without any help.
- Robbie (7/5): -
- Danielle (5/5): - The location worked well for what we needed. The hot tub was down and apparently has been for 3 months?
There were no towels in the pool area, so we needed to go to the front desk for towels.
The vending machine was out of water..
- Deanna (1/5): - Scary people harassing my family at pool then followed us to the room and manager did nothing. We left 8pm with no resolution. I will be calling owner city of Sleepy Eye first thing Monday. If it's a homeless shelter this should be told to us the paying customers. And it's not cheap lost 200 for leaving early
For shame!!!! Hot tub never works and pool is NEVER heated . My family stays here 4 times a year for past 5 years. Never again!!!
- James (7/5): -
- Jess (10/5): -
- 246lexij (10/5): Nice place - Clean place, quiet, breakfast had more options than I expected that was nice. Lady at front desk recommended Carls Corner for the broasted chicken, excellent choice.
- nindonisr (2/5): Trouble in SleepyEye - If you send a cc authorization, it would be best to talk to a person and have them process it that way. I was not allowed to carry out my two night stay due to the hotel not receiving the cc authorization from my employer. I live 4 hours from this location, it was an incredibly stressful situation.
- Randy (8/5): - The room was clean and the bath was as well. A/C -heat worked. Bed was OK but not overly comfortable. The pillows were bad. Too small and very lumpy or too soft.
- sandralH2276TM (2/5): Awful - We booked a weekend trip here for a family wedding nearby and booked an extra night because of the pool for the kids and hot tub for adults. Before we arrived another family member got there before us and said the pool and hot tub were not working and the hotel was a complete dump and it smelled awful and had stained bedding. They immediately checked out. We called to cancel our reservation since we only booked for the amenities which were not available and the lady was very short and said she would cancel our reservation and hung up on me. A month later with multiple phone calls and no refund we were finally told that we would only be partially refunded even though we never went since we were told we could cancel.
- Jerry (6/5): - Air conditioner was pretty loud
Tv wasn’t working properly the hotel person was very nice n got us fixed up quickly
- 608aprile (10/5): Very nice stay - Very nice and clean.
Only complaint would be that the pool closes too early on a weekend. 10 pm is too early. Beds were very comfortable
Nice size room
- Dean (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and room was very clean
- FRITS (9/5): It made staying at an AmericInn enjoyable again after previous disappointing stay at other location. - Well maintained. Clean and well organized. Lack of grab bar in shower.
Overuse of water softener makes the tub floor slippery. Looking in the mirror it also makes holding onto your razor difficult!
- Jonathan (8/5): - Nice little town with a nice hotel.
- Christine (6/5): - There was a beer on the desk and spots on the wall when I checked in.
- Fay (6/5): - Adequate hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean and bed comfortable however when we walked into our first floor room it smelled musty so not sure if cement floor underneath was saturated but a dehumidifier could have helped with that. Breakfast wasn’t anything amazing but nice to have something to eat in the morning.
- Alyssa (10/5): - The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean, very nice, and quiet! Breakfast had many options and was very good.
- B3318LPryanm (2/5): Forced to break in just to sleep with bugs - would give a 0 out of 5 if possible. told by front desk the door was a little difficult after it unlocks and I would have to "put my shoulder into it" in order to open it. despite pushing, shoving, and even kicking the door it would not open despite being "unlocked". did get switched to a different room but woke up to find a grasshopper spent the night with us.
- Mary (10/5): - Good location and service.
- Curtis (10/5): - A real good place to spend the night
- Bridgette (1/5): Never going back! - Nothing There are two floors and no elevator. Which makes it difficult when trying to get luggage to your room especially when you are traveling over long periods of time. The price was outrageous at $244 for ONE night but unfortunately was a necessity for us on our trip. The begging was gross and dirty! There were red and yellow stains all over the sheets. The room was mildewed and smelled horribly.
- LMS967 (8/5): Not the best AmericInn, but they are trying. - The desk staff is very helpful and accommodating.
When I had a question or concern, I felt very heard.
I believe that they are short-staffed, so things don't operate as well as other AmericInns, but I know that they are trying.
The hotel is clean in a good location.
- Ron (10/5): - Staff was wonderful.
- Deanna (10/5): -
- Joan (10/5): - Always awesome
- William (10/5): - Hotel was very clean. Person at the front desk was helpful, but obviously the hotel was understaffed.
- Todd (8/5): - Nice
- Mary (6/5): - Check in took long. Gave us a room that was already occupied. Had to get different room keys.
- Mary (5/5): Passable - The man at the front desk was friendly. The sheets and towels were clean. The breakfast was lacking. No fresh fruit, yogert or healthy options. There was very little in the warmer. Two round egg like things and one sausage patty.
I logged onto the hotel wifi big mistake. Someone tried to get into my Amazon account. There were ants in the room.
- William (2/5): - I was pretty disappointed with the stay here overall. The staff was nice, but it was 96 degrees outside and after having been outside all day, the air conditioning did not work well in our room. We had it on full blast, and we were hot and sticky the entire night. I could hardly sleep because of how uncomfortable I was. There was not enough hot water for each of us to take a shower and I’m not sure why, but the floor was wet from the bathroom to the bedroom area. Maybe it was because we were next to the laundry room or maybe the guest before us somehow got the floor wet. I believe the hotel was fully booked that night, so it’s possible we just got a really bad room, but I’m hoping we can get a refund because the experience was so bad.
- L8430AKmail (10/5): Great Place to Stay - Very clean, well maintained, quiet. My only caution is that the bathtub/shower was very slippery. They should use a mat or have handles to hold on to when entering to shower.
- gary (6/5): - Reasonably priced, clean. Breakfast was at best average. The AC blew moldy air and could not stand to run it.
- LYNETTE (10/5): - Floor in our room needed vacuuming. Otherwise everything was nice.
- Alyssa (10/5): - Great value, Nice rooms, hot breakfast! Had a great stay!
- Rhoda (8/5): Would of been better if it wasn’t raining and really windy - Was easy to locate Didn’t have an elevator which made it difficult with my back issues
- Steven G (10/5): - Immaculately clean and very pleasant! Great pool and hot tub
- Debra (10/5): - It was nice
- Frank (2/5): - Water didn’t get above tepid, food for breakfast was limited and was not being restocked, no one at desk most often to get help, had to get new key cards every time we went out, guest service worker said she couldn’t help me, then went back to microwaving a sandwich, opening it and playing it before coming to assist
- Laura (6/5): Nice staff, just not prepared for a crowd. - The hotel staff was great and accommodating. However, the hotel was not prepared to host a large family in town for a funeral. We had to wait to get blankets for the pull out couches because what they had was in the dryer. One party with our group checked in later in the evening and their room wasn't cleaned yet. There was no pool towels and no extra room towels. The hottub was maybe like bath water, but not hot. The breakfast was stocked once in the morning and some items were out within the first hour. First floor rooms smelled musty or like a tomcat. The AC in the large room of our suite did not cool. Overall nice staff just not ready for a full crowd.
- Olivia (10/5): -
- Rachel (8/5): - Nice property but could use some attention. Ice machine said it was full yet nothing would cone out, hot tub was luk warm at best and jets didn’t work. Breakfast was a disappointment. Went down at 8:15 and all there was for protein was eggs that my husband wasn’t sure if was actually eggs or pancakes due to lack of flavor. No meat available and nothing was refilled. Coffee was out as well. Our room was clean however others in our party arrived to the hotel around 8pm and room hadn’t been cleaned. We had to share our towels to other rooms as the hotel didn’t have any extra towels. We had the majority of the hotel full due to a funeral.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Lynn (6/5): - Clean, had handicapped room with walkin shower.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Do better. - We had ants crawling all over the dresser in the room. We went to the pool and I asked if I could get towels or if there were towels in there and the attendant said there should be. There was No towels. This was at 11 pm, he didn’t even offer us any. there were kids in the hot tub and one of the mothers was like “oh are you peeing? Haha” multiple times the area smelled like pee. The attendant didn’t seem to care whether there were kids in there or towels.. I have video of the ants crawling no photos. Review denied the first time. I did not go against any standards or change my review
- Curtis (7/5): Good - Breakfast was pretty decent, Desk Staff was very friendly and helpful cobwebs in the ceiling of the room in the corners etc. Beds were hard as ROCKS.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johnson (8/5): Very good - We did not eat breakfast. The location is good because I have a father on hospice in Sleepy Eye Minnesota. Being in town close to him was great. In the bathroom there was long hair on the floor and counter and in the shower. I just thought the bathroom should be cleaned a little better.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Nice front staff and greating. The bed was comfy, room clean, quiet, …… no complaints, Thanks Wyndham :-)
- Judy (10/5): - was great!
- Jeffrey (6/5): - Hot tub was broke down.
- RYAN (6/5): - Front desk was confused as to how someone set up our room as I booked through Expedia. He was going to charge me, but I said I already prepaid the room. It was odd. Only hotel in Sleepy Eye and not to mention very expensive.
Water did not get hot in shower either.
- Alana (8/5): - No teams staying overnight.
- Randall (8/5): - Overall our family of 5 really enjoyed our stay at Americinn by Wyndahm Sleepy Eye. No complaints about lobby/pool area. My husband and I would rate their breakfast satisfactory - nothing to remember, but there were enough options to chose from. The best part of our stay was the staff. They were friendly and very helpful! As far as our room, there were definitely some areas for improvement. We stayed in the King 1 Bedroom Suite with 2 pullout couches.
Here are the things that could be improved upon.
■Neither pullout couches had sheets or bedding available anywhere in the room, but there were enough pillows in the suite.
■All 3 mattresses were visibly worn/old. The mattresses were functional and comfy enough, but visibly stained/used.
■The TV stand in the bedroom was actually falling apart. It was a cheap piece of furniture that had ran its course. The drawer didn't work and it seemed the screws were stripped which caused it to wobble back and forth. It should be replaced because if someone runs into it with any amount of force, it would definitely topple.
■There was garbage left underneath both couches that was visible when we pulled them out into beds and we found 2 dirty forks next to the king bed in the bedroom.
These were only minor issues to us, as we are not very high maintenance people.. However, I did want to make these suggestions because to some people these small things add up which could leave a customer feeling poorly about their stay.
- anitalL5459SF (6/5): Average experience - Rooms were clean and I loved that they had working vents in the bathrooms. My main complaints are: 1) there wasn’t enough pool towels. When asked, front desk said it was because others guests had used them all but weren’t returning them. This was a bogus answer. Regardless of whether this is true or not, you should always have extras on hand. 2) The spa was broken but there was no sign informing us by the front desk or inside the pool. 3) All of our towels in the room had curly black/brown hair on them. What the heck is that all about?!
- Miranda (10/5): - Love the venue it was connected to we were there for a wedding and that was amazing
- Judy (10/5): - very comfotable beds everything great
- Sara (10/5): Great stay - It is always nice at Sleepy Eye. Small town hospitality
- Rachelle (10/5): - Staff here were pretty awesome!!
- Jalyn (6/5): - Check in process was very slow, though I did the online check in and booking. Stood there around 15 minutes while she got our room key. Hair ball on the bathroom towel. Breakfast was very sub par. Everything was gone with only 1 family in the breakfast area. Juice had a watered down taste and French toast looked and tasted terrible.
- Bryan (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (10/5): - Clean and comfortable
- christy (10/5): - Very nice property. Everyone was professional and polite.
- Sarah (10/5): - Great staff.
- Marie (8/5): - Continental breakfast - no bread for toast or cream cheese for bagels.
- Philip (8/5): Very good - Very conveniently located. Attached to the event center. Great that they have sugar free syrup at breakfast. The bed was a little too firm. Breakfast options ran out before the 10:00 am end of breakfast availability.
- Hannelore (9/5): great hotel for a night or 2 - this hotel had everything we needed for a one night stay. Beds were comfy. Refrigerator in the room came in handy. Nice size pool with heated water and an enjoyable hot hot tub. Breakfast was the standard fare but good quality. Coffee also good. This isn’t going to change anything but I am not a fan of disposable plates, cutlery, cups etc. It would be so easy to have some real dishes that can be washed in a dishwasher instead of creating so much waste.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly.
- Michelle (10/5): Clean, comfortable and great staff - Clean and well kept
- Tearran (8/5): - Clean, definitely worth the price
- Christine (8/5): - Expensive for 2 star hotel, but clean
- inge (8/5): - The staff was helpful
- Doug (8/5): Sleepy eye - All outer appearances to be clean and welcoming. BUT, I walk outside by the door closest to my room and was unable to get back in and had to walk clear around the hotel to enter thru the lobby. When I went to take a shower, I let the HOT water run for a minute, but it never got above LUKE WARM, during the shower it wet to ICE cold.
- James (10/5): - All went well!
- Kincade (1/5): Will not stay here again - It was clean and that’s about it I paid 200$ and the only hot food was waffles witch I think is ridiculous cuz I have had better breakfast at 80$ hotels
- Joan (10/5): - Great
- Kenneth (8/5): Very good -
- vernonv390 (8/5): Quite and clean - Hotel was nice, no elevator. Breakfast not the best. It's a good place to go to to be in a small town with in range of New Ulm.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mediocre Place - Hotel was ok. Our room smelled very musty/moist. Breakfast was nothing special; waffles, instant oatmeal, cereal, NO fruit even.
I expected more from the hotel for the price.
- Jennifer (8/5): - This hotel is great. Although the property wasn’t planned very well as there is no elevator.
- Indrajyoti (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Very good - Location was great for my needs. Room was large and clean. 1. There was no elevator so if you have lots of bags or have mobility problems request first floor. If not, this hotel may not be for you.
2. Breakfast time should be extended to 10am weekday and 1030am weekend.
3. Ample parking but the parking lot was in bad shape and didn’t have parking lines.
- LuAnn (8/5): - Easy to find and quiet
- jimginmn (8/5): Sleet Eye - Breakfast was the only disappointment at this property. Poorly managed and supplied. There are few places to take my grandchildren to eat in this town, I depended on the breakfast to get us off to a good start for the day.
- Lynne (10/5): - It was fine, nothing great, but clean and safe.
- Denise (10/5): - Staff were helpful at check-in. Parking lot was full of potholes and gravel.
- Sarah (8/5): Enjoyed our stay and will continue to return - We have stayed here before and the hotel continues to meet our expectations for clean rooms, nice staff, and breakfast that was great for kids and adults.
- Jeff (8/5): Great. - Excellent front desk employees. Zero.
- Mess (5/5): Passable - Near to Walnut Grove MN The breakfast, the confort
- Terry (8/5): - It was pretty good!
- Jasulevicius (10/5): Exceptional - Great location - really close (about 1 mile) to the conference we were attending.
- Indrajyoti (10/5): Great location with nice people - Location Nothing
- David (8/5): - Staff was excellent. Heater/AC unit in the living room was inoperative, heater/ ac unit in the bedroom was very noisy.
- Kenneth (9/5): Superb -
- Jill (6/5): - There were no tub/shower handles and the tub was VERY slippery with no texture or grips on floor. I ended up slipping and falling out of the tub and I was being very careful. Fortunately, I was not injured, lucky for them.
- Tammy (6/5): Good - The hotel front desk lady was very nice. She helped us get a second bed for our child since I did not reserve a room correctly.
