Guest Reviews
- Glenna (6/5): Disappointed - The area was wonderful, but the security guard who gave me the key had no idea where to find it. The light bulbs seemed to be deliberately half removed or burned out. When I requested replacements to get light into the living area, they told me the bulbs had to be ordered specially. That may have been true for two of a dozen lights not working. The hallways similarly had half the lights not lit. Bath tub stop didn't work, and was never fixed despite my request. It was a bargain for good reason.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A very good substitute to a hotel - I was a little bit nervous when I just met the landlord. She was nice and introduced to me everything in the room. She also patiently answered my questions through short messages. The room was in general clean, although there was still some un-dumped coffee in the coffee machine. The bed, bathroom, and the kitchen are all very clean. The environment was very good, it was not noisy at night. Some reason why I did not give it a five start. (1) the dryer was running when the landlord left, probably (I guess) some washed sheets of the previous residents; (2) I was not pleased with checking out. The landlord told me to "place keys in the lockbox located in the stairwell down the hall". First I did not know whether it was the stairwell on the 1st or on the 16th floor (the room is on the 16th floor); second, there are two stairwells at either end; third, there are two lockboxes hanging on each stairwell, finally, I tried all four lockboxes with the password and did not open any! I wasted half an hour on this! But in general, it is still a good place to go. I may still want to do it the next time.
- Michael (8/5): Warm and Cosy Apartment - Toronto is a notoriously expensive city to try and get a hotel in, so I will often use a Condo style place to save a bit of cost, but also give me a home from home feel. This place did just that. As it was on Wellington (about a block away from Rogers Center) it was ideally located to walk around downtown and get to meetings in the finance district, and while the Parkway is always a nightmare, it was handily located to get out of town and up to Markham, Vaughan and the rest.
The condo is exactly what you'd expect in downtown Toronto - pretty cosy, but nicely done out and a warm welcome on check in. The balcony off the lounge is a nice touch, although I suspect the view was a lot more pleasant before the new high rises went up!
Comfortable and warm (I couldn't find the heating controls!) it did everything that I wanted and needed it to do. Stay here if you travel a lot and want a taste of home, or if you're looking to save a bit of money compared to the downtown hotels.
