Guest Reviews
- Judith (6/5): - Shops near by. Toilet lavatory clogged, faucet is broken, elevator not working. 310
- Verified traveler (6/5): Wouldn't recommend - Lighting and plumbing don't work well. Staff are very accommodating
- Gemma (8/5): - The front desk is very accomodating. She let me in even I am an hour early for my check in time. The hotel is a bit outdated bit I don't care as long as I can sleep well. Over all no complaints. I am happy for what i paid for.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good enough for a second visit - Great staff, cute little room with ample storage space, nice bathroom and good a/c.
Restaurant area was nice and food service good. Limited menu choices however.
- Edmund A (8/5): ALWAYS NICE - I always like staying at the Wregent Plaza. I do wish they would drop the leading W, however...
- Scott (10/5): perfect place - Nice motel good food great location excellent staff good price. Get the breakfast with the room it’s a great deal and really good will b back every time we go to tagbilaran
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff are very responsive to your needs, they help immediately and are very patient!

- Pearl (10/5): - Centrally located in Tagbilaran City
Clean room
Brekky was delicious
Front desk was helpful when I was organising our stay
Cons
But one breakfast I asked for water, theybgave me tap water and when I asked for a bottled water they charged me P20.00
It's a very small amount but the hotel should've given it for free
Other hotels give 1 free bottled water a day
- harold (10/5): Heart of the City - its very good.staff were nice and accommodating.love the location, its in the heart of the city
- airwind (6/5): - Old hotel though management have efforts to keep up. It location is perfect if your business is within the city. The rates is a bargain. I will recomend this place for a business trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A little bit noisy but on a good position the staff was good the lift dont give you a lot of time if it is full
- Verified traveler (8/5): - city center located in the main road
- Steve (10/5): - Great 👍 room and outstanding mango shakes from room service
- Toryn (10/5): Ideal place to stay in the city. - We like this hotel.Hassle free and friendly helpful staff.Ideal place to stay whilst visiting Tagbilaran.
- 3merlinw (8/5): A few days in Tagbilaran - This hotel is conveniently located close to the Tagbilaran airport. It’s just a short cab ride away. The staff is very friendly, quick, and responsive to your requests. The room service was quick and efficient. The rooms were just as promised with fast Wi-Fi speed. The cleaning staff did a great job daily of cleaning the room and replacing clean towels in the bathroom. They even offer a local masseuse service that will come to your room for massage. Overall, we were very pleased.
- Christopher (6/5): Cockroaches, ants, and streetlights and noise - The hotel was not the best for us. Our room was right next to the Main Street, so traffic noises and bright lights through the very skimpy curtains all night. We had cockroaches and ants in the bed.
The staff are all lovely and helpful, but even as a budget hotel, I do expect and have experienced much better rooms elsewhere.
- charles (2/5): Don’t beleive the reviews - Have been tricked by hotel.com review
Absolutly nothing like the review and pictures
Only the attendants were good
- Bingalah Travel (10/5): - Great staff, clean, wonderful food in the restaurant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel. Great value - Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Quiet even though it is downtown. Good food in the restaurant. I would stay here again if back in the area. I would recommend to others. The only thing was the inconsistent internet in the room but that is minor with all things considered.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Generally OK - Generally ok. All the personnel are nice except for one who never smiles nor greet at all. But overall our stay is ok.
- DrBryano (10/5): Good - We got there at 12, they let us check in early which was nice. Has plenty of hot water, plenty of cold air conditioning and the price was reasonable. You have to pay for breakfast but that’s alright it was cheap and good. Wifi works really good aswell and never cut out once
- jennas584 (8/5): A last minute place to stay - After getting stuck in Tagbilaran when a tropical storm was coming in my boyfriend and I stayed at the Wregent as we couldn’t get off the island the day we wanted to. It’s a very short walk-in distance from the pier and airport, and situated close to 2 malls and other places to eat and shop. There’s a 24h convenience store across the street that sells everything you could need and dining nearby. The lobby was beautiful and the staff were very good. We had booked online and prepaid our stay, but after looking at our confirmation email discovered we had accidentally booked a room with two twin beds. We went to the hotel 2 hours before check in to see if they had any rooms we could change to with one double instead of the twin beds, and the front desk kindly upgraded us to a better room with one larger bed at no additional charge. They also let us check in early as it was storming it and we were walking with our backpacks. The room had great air conditioning, a very comfortable bed, and a nice private bathroom. Although I would say the room was quite clean, there were a TON of spider webs and spiders. You could tell thy dusting hadn’t been done for quite some time. The lamps and tables on either side of the bed had spiders and webs and shower had webs in ever corner. Otherwise the stay was great. The cafe downstairs also has quite good food, and makes real brewed coffee and espresso drinks.
- mikei899 (8/5): Better than alot of other options around here in this price range. - stayed here for one night on 6-10-17. I booked a standard double room through hotels.com for the cost of about $25 after all the fees and taxes. This seems to be in line with what they would charge you if you just came in off the street and tried to book the same room. I was already in town, so I did get to take a look at the room before I actually booked.
The room itself is fairly spacious. The room I got had two twin size beds. The beds were rather comfortable and I did manage to get a good night's sleep. While our room was facing the Main Street , there really was not that much noise intrusion. Of course the roosters crowing at 4 in the morning could be heard in the room. LOL. the bathrooms are of the wet bathroom type which is very common in most of Asia. The toilets are Western design so there is no squatting in case you are worried about that. The water pressure I did find to be lacking, and it probably took a good five minutes of running the water before I could get hot water out of the shower.
The staff was kind and courteous and got us into and out of our rooms in the timely manner. There is a security guard at the front door 24/7 and the hotel is within easy walking distance of many restaurants and stores.
- roelb187 (8/5): Nice, clean place for the price - We stayed the last night of our holiday in this hotel in order to have an easy connection to the airport. The hotel is in the centre at the main road of Tagbilaran so you can do your last shopping end find a place to eat easily.
The room was really clean and spacy enough with a large bed. The airco was not loud, easy to sleep with. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The only disadvantage was that the free airport shuttle started at 8am and we had to leave at 7 to the airport... this was nicely solved by the staff with holding a few tricycles.
- wengbau (8/5): Homey and nice location - The hotel is strategically located, less than 10 minutes away from the Tagbilaran airport, a stone's throw away from establishments (banks, BQ mall).
The staff are courteous and efficient. The room is clean and spacious.
They have free wifi although the signal weakens when you're in the room.
There is an elevator which is a must for our group since we have a PWD with us.
The shower area though is quite dark since there is only one light inside the bathroom. And the water in the shower was not hot anymore in the morning, unlike the night we arrived. In addition, when we came back to the room after having our breakfast, the bathroom smelled cigarette smoke! we suspected that it was because of the exhaust fan. we just sprayed cologne to counter the smell since we are about to check out anyway.
the dining area is quite small but cozy. their breakfast is good and reasonably-priced.omelette is good! had baby back ribs at lunch and it is great! their best-selling banana-chocolate shake lived up to its being a best seller!
The staff, though, took a loooong time giving us the bill with four senior citizen discounts in the computation, lol!
They have a parking lot but it is quite small, can accommodate six vehicles only.
- Bbbonibrendi (8/5): Homey countryside-ish hotel - I love this hotel because it's affordable and homey. The classic feels of the interior adds to the comfort of your overall stay. They also have very accommodating staff, and good food with the right prices :)
- levyp2016 (8/5): Very nice location - Hotel is just along CPG avenue main road and is very accessible. Rooms have old interiors but clean with bath tub. Basic amenities are available. Staff are very helpful.this hotel is in city center and you will love its proximity
- reymundl (6/5): Basic, Simple but Nice and Colorful... - We just stayed here for one night because we are already tired from Cebu in order to proceed to Panglao... I made reservation simply thru text messages while we are travelling thru Ocean Jet from Cebu. They easily accommodated my request.

The hotel is clean from the lobby, restaurant, isle, elevator and even the room. For one night stay, we paid for P1300 pesos for our room, which I will consider a good deal despite breakfast is not included. That is for double deluxe room. It is actually a big room for me and my wife. The hotel is likewise accessible. It is just several minutes tricycle ride from the port where we came from. There are several convenience store near the hotel where you can buy stuff. Likewise, there are atm machines near the area as well as restaurants like mc donalds. There are also many tricycles where you can ride for only ten (10) pesos if you don't want to walk. So they passed my accessibility requirement. The hotel have one security at the lobby. That satisfied my security requirement considering that it is just a small hotel. The guard is attentive and he knows how to smile to the guest. The food is good and taste fresh. Although our room is on the 4th floor facing the road, the place is quiet and I have a good rest in terms of serenity.
The hotel nonetheless failed my comfort and amenities requirements. I was in the middle of a good sleep after a tiring day, maybe around 3am, when the electricity in our room failed. The aircon and lights stopped and we are awaken. I checked the area and it is only our room which do not have electricity. I called the lobby and they immediately send the bell boy to fixed it. He was able to fix it after five (5) minutes but its annoying especially if you are tired and in the middle of a good sleep. The staff are generally good and courteous but they failed to my standards, for the simple reason that I never heard an apology and explanation from any of them to what happened. I believe they should train their staff to do that or if they don't want to do that, they should fix their electricity. I am not sure but I think they don't have a parking area.
Over all. I still like Wregent Hotel and I have a good experience in their hotel except the electricity failure in our room. What I like most about their hotel is the theme and color of their lobby and restaurant. I am posting some pictures for you to see. Based on my personal criteria, I am rating them 3 stars out of 5...
- lanieglovasa (10/5): Great Boutique Hotel - A very charming boutique hotel just in the heart of the city, it is a convenient location if you are planning to stay in the city. It is 2 minutes away from Tagbilaran sea port and an 8-minute ride to the airport. Their rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, food is good and reasonably priced. There are also a lot of business establishments around the area like restaurants, banks, 24-hr convenience stores, coffee shops and massage spas all just walking distance. We had a great time with our stay, I highly recommend and will definitely come back when I visit Bohol.
- bunko007 (6/5): Good hotel in Bohol City Center - Room: Small room is dimly lit but clean. With old interiors, a cool, working airconditioner, clear cable TV reception and a small ref. Room WIFI was slow. Noise along the street was audible, not a good choice for light sleepers.
Bathroom: also dimly lit yet clean. With complimentary soap and shampoo
Service: Nice people working in this hotel
Location: Very good location. A few minutes away from the airport, within the city center. Near McDonald's, 24 hrs convenient store just opposite the hotel.
Overall: Happy with my stay. A few shortcomings but a good choice nonetheless, especially with its tariff rate.
- aduy2015 (8/5): Nice and Convenient - Hotel is along the main road of Tagbilaran City which is CPG Avenue and very near to shopping malls, restaurant and other business center in the city. Room is clean and wifi connection is strong. Foods ok but if you want to eat outside, it's walking distance to Mall of Alturas and BQ Mall where you can find Shakey's, Pizza Hut, McDonalds and other fast food chain. I stayed several times with this hotel because it is in the heart of the city.
- LSSantos (10/5): Still the One for Me - I am not really fond of big hotels where the staff and the service tend to be impersonal. I prefer the smaller boutique hotels where everyone is generally friendlier and more gracious to guests. WREGENT PLAZA HOTEL is one such hotel. It is strategically located along the city's main avenue so that everything is near and easily accessible. It has a laid-back atmosphere and a distinct provincial charm. The rooms are surprisingly large and with complete amenities but at cheaper rates. They provide free airport transfers and accepted my phoned-in reservation without even asking for a deposit. Truly an excellent deal. We stayed in this hotel the first time we were in Bohol in 2007. We were right in staying there again.
- NenetteS_13 (6/5): Water problem - Rooms in this hotel is ok, but compared to its price, its better to try other hotels.. 4am on the day of our departure, water in the shower is not functioning well and no heater. While my friends who stayed in the other room said that the shower is not working at all, they waited for half hour and later called the reception to inform the situation. No good. One good point on this hotel is it is in front of a bank which is very convenient to our group.
- kuyals (6/5): An okay hotel - This hotel is in the midst of Tagbilaran city so public transportation is readily available and many restaurants are within walking distance. Rooms are not large but adequate and clean. The maid service is very good. There is also hot water at the sink which is nice and not found very often in the Philippines. They have a secure parking area in the back. My main complaint is the poor WiFi service. WiFi is only available in the lobby and then only between the hours of 6am and 10pm. This hotel is a good base to operate from as you visit the other tourist spots of Bohol. There is a good government tourism office a few blocks away and worth the trip for a good map and information about the area.
One other thing I want to mention has nothing to do with the hotel but the City in general. They have some of the worst sidewalks that I have encountered in the Philippines. Some curbs are over a foot high and the sidewalks are very uneven which means you really need to watch your step especially at night or when it is raining. Walls have been built which block the walkway and some areas have been turned into motorcycle parking areas. Most of the time it is easier to walk in the street.
- ClydeB395 (8/5): Acceptable hotel for the area - Central for BHUOL. - The hotel was pleasantly appointed, with a décor in the old colonial style. The staff were (as usual in the Philippines) delightful, pleasant and attentive. Tagbilaran (the main city on the island of Bohol) has little to recommend it accept for the fact it is very central to access the attractions and delights of Bohol. Two things that must be seen here are the chocolate hills (about a hours drive from the city) and the Tarsiers (smallest primate in the world - and possibly the cutest). Tagbilaran is one place that would not be missed if you left it off your Itinerary, but if you do stay in Tagbilaran you could do a lot worse the the Wregent, where we enjoyed a comfortable 3 day lay over before we moved on to the wonderful beaches of Panglao. There is no kettle in the room but there is a hot water dispenser in the bar of the restaurant which the staff are happy to operate for you. If you want a beer you have to put up with canned San Miguel!
- SeanJ845 (10/5): Convenient and Affordable - Wregent is a little hotel in the heart of Tagbilaran City, it is close to stores and malls. There are tricycles available all the time in front of the hotel so transportation is not a problem. The Mcdo delivers food right at your door step :) The food was good and the staff and nice.
The only problem with this hotel is the booking. They always mess up my reservations but overall it was a good hotel.
- JasonRamos (10/5): Nice hotel - I stayed there for business very convenient location and the room was very nice and clean.
- PeterJ880 (4/5): They don't care - The previous time we stayed at this hotel there were ants in our bathroom, although they did eradicate them promptly on that occasion, so I thought we'd give then a second chance.
This time, we had a cockroach in our room which bit me twice on my arm while I slept. When reported to reception, they were not interested at all.
My arm swelled up and I had to go to hospital - that cost me money!
We will never stay at this hotel ever again.
- Jozy10 (8/5): Nice Hotel - We spent 2 nights here while we were on Bohol. Reasonably priced, very clean and quiet (we were on the backside), and includes breakfast. Very helpful staff. When they found out we were leaving on a ferry, they took us to the terminal.
