The bed is really comfortable, and we had a fantastic night's rest, followed by a delicious breakfast the next morning. Thank you to a wonderful hotel.

• LAURENCE (9/5): All in all we enjoyed ourselves and staff very friendly and helpfull - Our breakfast was good. Could add Worcestershire, tomato sauce and hp sauce on main buffet. Our second night evening meal was for 1 of us not a good experience.

• Benjamin (8/5): Well-located, friendly hotel with a good restaurant - Absolutely wonderful staff (Linda was super-helpful, friendly and full of tips!), and the restaurant served us a delicious dinner and breakfast! The location is super-central and the parking very convenient. The hotel is showing its age a bit, and whilst everything was well looked-after, it might be time for a refresh to the decor and fittings.

• Johan (1/5): Shocking Hotel. - Absolutely nothing. The hotel was dirty, dusty. The towels were stained and dirty. People hanging around in the parking drink, empty bottles everywhere, I couldn't even park my car. People hanging and shouting about food parcels in the reception are. The manager, I you could call him that, is absolutely pathetic and try to down play everything and told us to relax, we'll that is the precise reason why we chose the Hotel. Shocking. He refuses to compensate us in any way possible.

• Louise (1/5): Very, very bad, unacceptable from the name Clan William Hotel. - Nothing Unit 42 was icy cold and stinky from fire smells, and wood, the bed was covered with linen that was not properly ironed, had to ask them to put new bedding on. Our whole experience was BAD. The oldest room in the Hotel. Was in hospital with Asthma attack and the room was not suitable for my lungs.

As a property with stairs and no assistance to help with luggage it would be beneficial to place older people on the ground floor so we don’t have to try and carry suitcases etc up all the stairs!

• Imran (3/5): - The check in process went very well. The person that assisted me was pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is centrally located in the town and close to various amenities. The breakfast was also good but limited in what was provided, especially for halal options. My room was along the roadside and the noise of trucks driving throughout the night was extremely disturbing. The tv channel options were very poor. When I entered my room, I could got a very strong poo smell. I checked the room and there was literally poo in the shower drain. Not sure how it got there but I alerted reception and the maintenance guy came to clean it out and said perhaps someone snuck a dog in. From that point on, I felt uncomfortable in this room because if they could not clean something this obvious prior to my arrival then what else is being overlooked in terms of cleanliness.

The location is not great at all. you basically can't go anywhere. They also advertised "secure parking", but they have too little parking for the guests so our vehicle had to stand in the street.

Staff are very welcoming,helpful and Friendly. Only the bathroom that is in need of a very good clean. The grouting on the shower walls is black with mould.

Our room had Unfortunately no view, our door was on a walk through with no privacy, near to a noisy kitchen and a car was parked right in front of the only window in the room. We had to keep the curtains closed. The linen was not sparkling white, with stains on the pillow covers and towels!!!

• Cornelis (5/5): Noisy hotel but comfy bed - Comfortable bed and we had a fireplace in our room! Breakfast was basic but good. Secured parking behind hotel if not fully occupied. The noise throughout the night. The reception talks load, they don't instruct other guests to keep their voice level down, everything is tiled so the sound resonates all the time someone speaks. Therefore I wouldn't recommend this hotel. You are booking a hotel to sleep.

• Stuart (2/5): A PLACE NEVER TO STAY AT!!!! - The smoking area makes you feel like a prisoner, dirty ans no seats. You are given a key for the balcony in your room that does not unlock the door. It was a relatively cold night and the aircon did not even work and they could not fix it. . To top it all, there was not even a bottle of water in the room which ALL hotels do, to rinse your mouth when you brush your teeth. I can almost say with confidence that this is an absolute necessity im Clanwilliam as the water coming out of tge tap is a light shade of brown. At breakfast, I witnessed one of the servers cleaning a table and dropped a fork on the floor. She just picked it up and put it on the table again. Until I asked should she not have it washed having fell on the floor. Such a sad state that a historical hotel like this is going absolutely to the digs. Clearly the management do not care, or are just incompetent. The general state of the hotel is old, run down, with creaky floors and threadbare carpets. Shocking and disgusting. I will NEVER stay there again. Would rather spend a night in my car.
