In fact, more compliments to the staff: exceptional.
- Dominique (9/5): - Gute Unterkunft mit allem was man braucht. Der Pool könnte etwas schöner sein.
- Silke&Jan (8/5): Okay for the price - Central location, safe parking, comfortable beds. Aircondition very noisy (needed earplugs), room very dark, little terrace in front of the room hasn’t been swiped for a while, not enough plugs, breakfast varies widely from very basic to filling buffet, food in restaurant nothing to write home about.

- Gerald (7/5): Empfehlenswert - Sehr schöne Zimmer, mit allem Komfort. Restaurant ordentlich, insgesamt ein gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Wein Angebot sehr madiger und teuer.
Pool ziemlich klein und grün
- Frank (8/5): -
- Arkadiy (9/5): - Всё отлично!
- Hensh (6/5): Cheerful place, good location but needs TLC. - Location was perfect and rooms were clean. The hotel is very tired and in urgent need of refurbishment.
The chlorine in the pool really burnt my eyes.

- Benjamin (8/5): Well-located, friendly hotel with a good restaurant - Absolutely wonderful staff (Linda was super-helpful, friendly and full of tips!), and the restaurant served us a delicious dinner and breakfast! The location is super-central and the parking very convenient. The hotel is showing its age a bit, and whilst everything was well looked-after, it might be time for a refresh to the decor and fittings.
- Christine (7/5): -
- Preachmore (10/5): -
- Johan (1/5): Shocking Hotel. - Absolutely nothing. The hotel was dirty, dusty. The towels were stained and dirty. People hanging around in the parking drink, empty bottles everywhere, I couldn't even park my car. People hanging and shouting about food parcels in the reception are. The manager, I you could call him that, is absolutely pathetic and try to down play everything and told us to relax, we'll that is the precise reason why we chose the Hotel. Shocking. He refuses to compensate us in any way possible.
- Johan (7/5): -
- Baldwin (10/5): -
- Ethelwynn (8/5): Only problem they were short staff for supper and we waited ridiculously long for supper and left -
- Louise (1/5): Very, very bad, unacceptable from the name Clan William Hotel. - Nothing Unit 42 was icy cold and stinky from fire smells, and wood, the bed was covered with linen that was not properly ironed, had to ask them to put new bedding on. Our whole experience was BAD. The oldest room in the Hotel. Was in hospital with Asthma attack and the room was not suitable for my lungs.
- Alessandra (1/5): From the beggars outside, no safe parking we were all really scared , tons of homeless beggars and drunk individuals sta - Nothing , grubby outside fasade . Nothing like the photos . Dark dingy inside , moist dark acrid Dark , smelly , unsafe , damp
- Rowan (6/5): comfortable - Rooms were clean and well presented, linen was crisp. every hotel needs a proper coffee station, package coffee is a bit of a let down
- Alistair (6/5): -
Regte plattelandse gasvryheid. Die hotel se restaurant se kos was van hoogstaande kwaliteit en so lekker

- René Brand (6/5): It was fair. - The room had thick curtains which did not open. It also did not j=have any lace curtains for privacy. Therefore, the room was very dark.
- duduzile skhosana (8/5): -
- Kim (5/5): Very disappointing-we cut our stay short as we were not all that impressed. - Not much. The photos on the website make it look better than it is. The lack of parking inside the property. As a property with stairs and no assistance to help with luggage it would be beneficial to place older people on the ground floor so we don’t have to try and carry suitcases etc up all the stairs!
- Monia (10/5): -
- Julian (6/5): Good, comfortable location for visiting flowers. - Comfortable room. Adequate breakfast. Reasonable dinner. Friendly receptionist on arrival.
- Jill George Western Cape (7/5): - The hotel needs an upgrade. Expensive
- Johnny (8/5): -
- Imran (3/5): - The check in process went very well. The person that assisted me was pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is centrally located in the town and close to various amenities. The breakfast was also good but limited in what was provided, especially for halal options. My room was along the roadside and the noise of trucks driving throughout the night was extremely disturbing. The tv channel options were very poor. When I entered my room, I could got a very strong poo smell. I checked the room and there was literally poo in the shower drain. Not sure how it got there but I alerted reception and the maintenance guy came to clean it out and said perhaps someone snuck a dog in. From that point on, I felt uncomfortable in this room because if they could not clean something this obvious prior to my arrival then what else is being overlooked in terms of cleanliness.
- TERSIA (8/5): Stay was good - parking and facilities are a problem. - The Hotel staff was friendly and the food was great! The rooms were very neat. The location is not great at all. you basically can't go anywhere. They also advertised "secure parking", but they have too little parking for the guests so our vehicle had to stand in the street.
- Noreen (8/5): -
- Christiaan (8/5): Stay at Clanwilliam - Room had tea and coffee like expected. Shower water nice and hot. They serve a good breakfast and a large variety of dishes for supper. The parking is not enough for all the rooms.
- Carel Philip (5/5): - The staff Floors were not clean. Towels were not white. The parking was a nightmare. Food was mediocre
- Mariann (8/5): Bad service from kitchen - The restaurant was bad. We booked for 19h00 and only recieved our food at 21h35 and it was cold. Won't eat there again.
- Cheslyn (6/5): -
- Margaret (6/5): - Room was very comfortable, but a lot of dampness on the walls, bathroom needs a good amount of deep cleaning.
Breakfast i can't complain about at all.
Staff are very welcoming, helpful and Friendly. Only the bathroom that is in need of a very good clean.
The grouting on the shower walls is black with mould.
- Jimmy (8/5): -
- Juan (10/5): The staff are amazing - Clean, awesome ambiance. Lovely setting
- Leroy (8/5): -
- Cani (Barrie) (6/5): - The breakfast was good and the lady at the front desk accommodate us after we had to move our booking twice due to a crisis. Our room had Unfortunately no view, our door was on a walk through with no privacy, near to a noisy kitchen and a car was parked right in front of the only window in the room. We had to keep the curtains closed.
The linen was not sparkling white, with stains on the pillow covers and towels!!!
- Lauren (3/5): Pleasant staff. Average to poor facilities. Not a great neighbourhood. - The staff were friendly and kind. The water flowing out the taps was brown. The neighbourhood wasn't great.
- Renate (6/5): - The town itself Location
- Genis (6/5): Convenient - Beddding, untidiness
- STRAUSS (10/5): -
- ELISE STEYN (9/5): -
- Cornelis (5/5): Noisy hotel but comfy bed - Comfortable bed and we had a fireplace in our room! Breakfast was basic but good.
Secured parking behind hotel if not fully occupied. The noise throughout the night. The reception talks load, they don't instruct other guests to keep their voice level down, everything is tiled so the sound resonates all the time someone speaks. Therefore I wouldn't recommend this hotel. You are booking a hotel to sleep.
- Desi (10/5): - We like the hotel will recommend to anyone. Spacious and clean. Thank you for a lovely stay
- Stuart (2/5): A PLACE NEVER TO STAY AT!!!! - The smoking area makes you feel like a prisoner, dirty ans no seats.
You are given a key for the balcony in your room that does not unlock the door. It was a relatively cold night and the aircon did not even work and they could not fix it. .
To top it all, there was not even a bottle of water in the room which ALL hotels do, to rinse your mouth when you brush your teeth. I can almost say with confidence that this is an absolute necessity im Clanwilliam as the water coming out of tge tap is a light shade of brown.
At breakfast, I witnessed one of the servers cleaning a table and dropped a fork on the floor. She just picked it up and put it on the table again. Until I asked should she not have it washed having fell on the floor.
Such a sad state that a historical hotel like this is going absolutely to the digs. Clearly the management do not care, or are just incompetent.
The general state of the hotel is old, run down, with creaky floors and threadbare carpets.
Shocking and disgusting.
I will NEVER stay there again. Would rather spend a night in my car.
