Particularly our Barman Ashley who took care of us on a full day of trying out their whole drinks menu.

- Barry (7/5): A confortable stay with great staff. - The cleanliness. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The garden was well-kept and neat. The breakfast was fabulous. The separate bathroom and the shower door could not open fully as the toilet was so close.
- Justin (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff. Comfortable room with decent fittings. No aircon remote. Only one plug for bedside light or aircon. Can't use both. Noisy from reception, and neighbour's across the road.
- Tsepiso (8/5): Very good -
- Yvette (9/5): Fantastic venue , even better , attentive staff. - They did not have an extra bed but theyve managed to place me in a bigger more comfortable twin suite at no extra cost .
Staff was exceptionally attentive and excellent at their jobs .
Shanice at reception and customer service
Salome in the kitchen with her accomodative catering and
Macy cleaning so spotlessly you could eat off the floor .
These people made our stay a memorable one Also keeping something for me that i forgot was the cherry on the goid cake My first room was advertised as having a shower but it wasnt one , was simply a handmixer unit on the bath
- Arie (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Sisanele (7/5): Good -
- Zanele (9/5): Lovely plave - Loved the hospitality and breakfast was ok, standard breakfast the WiFi off on our last day, it was sad as our service were not working. We were dependent on the wifi
- Shaunita (8/5): Very good - Lovely scenic view and spacious room N/a
- Yanga (10/5): Exceptional - The property was very beautiful the staff was excellent
- Joe (2/5): Stay away unless they lower the price by half - The garden was nice Everything else except the garden. They ask if you wanne join for a braai which could be nice they charge you 195ZAR after which you get 3 pieces of tiny pieces of bbq meat You have to shower in your bathtub while holding the shower head like a kid while there is brown water coming out after you crossed to the other side. Then they charge 16 euros! For a laundry which is more then 2 people going out for diner in anyplace in South Africa. And they overcharge the accomodation while waking you up at 06:30 because it’s so noisy
Make the price half do the effort and I guess you can make it work?
- Bartłomiej (7/5): Good - Nice views & swimming pool, large & comfortable room, tasty breakfast. Very slow service of the breakfast - we asked for an early breakfast since we had to leave for the hike, unfortunately it took over an hour to get the food (although we told the order right away). Some parts of rooms/amenities could benefit from refurbishments.
- Kaye (5/5): Sadly lacking in professional management. Could have been so much better. - The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. That said, whilst the cook was very sweet, she only looked after one table at a time so service was rather poor as the other staff didn't get involved. We felt that the management should have taken a much greater role in training and supervision as both were sadly lacking.
The gardens were lovely and well maintained, as was the open pool although we did not use it.
The first two nights were quiet, and we slept well until the birds woke us in the morning (at 5 a.m.) which was not an issue as we had been on a long safari and were used to it. My wife jarred her back on the zip wiring expedition so travelling onto our next stop was difficult, so we opted to stay on an extra night, simply as packing and unpacking was not an option, and the breakfast (especially the chicken livers with creamy scambled eggs was delicious.)
If you are eating out in Storms river village in the evening you need to go by car as the manor is located right on the outskirts of the village by the township and there are no street lights.
In the village itself the Hunter's bar served fabulous meals and the staff were friendly and very efficient.
The zip wire through the canopy was great fun, extremely well organised, and very safe. Discounts (20%) are available if booked through the Manor. Storms river village was very pretty with some lovely gardens, and well placed for use as a base to visit other areas along the garden route. We had pre booked a double room (not the option for private bathroom,) therefore expecting ensuite. When we arrived we were shown a room which had a bathroom across the corridor, which would not have been was not have been acceptable, and in fairness Bianca (GM) had pre-expected this response as she told us that we were to be upgraded. Thank heavens they were not busy! Beware when booking! The family room was large and very comfortable, although the TV did not appear to work properly, and the kettle had to be used with caution otherwise your hand got scolded. Unfortunately the BBQ area was right outside the bathroom window so privacy was an issue. Also the room (no 7) was by the reception area and next to the open communal lounge. The door was paper thin (and was dented as though someone had tried to punch a hole in it.) Consequently you could hear every word spoken at reception and we were kept awake by guests chatting and laughing at night in the communal area.
We were contacted pre-arrival and asked if we would like to partake of an evening meal. We thought it would be easier (given we did not know how safe it was to venture out in the evenings) so confirmed. When we arrived we were told it would consist of a Brie (BBQ) a selection of 3 meats chicken, lamb chops, and sausage plus veggies. We had had a BBQ on safari so our expectations were high as that was fabulous. From the description it sounded delicious. Unfortunately that evening, it was so poor, as did the other guests who were equally disappointed.) We were not charged. Although we were told that the cost was to be deducted from the staffs wages which given the quality of the meat provided, and the level of service provided thought it should have settled on the management's shoulders not theirs.
We went over to the bar area in the grounds, but opted not to utilise it as it appeared to be being frequented by rowdy locals from the township directly next to the accommodation.
- Kelebogile (10/5): Exceptional - The stuff very much professional, you feel at home the service is excellent
- Smeeta (8/5): Very good - Lovely place. Huge room. Comfortable bed. Kitchen available if needed. Bianca was a very good host. The staff are not proactive. They need to be taught proper P R service. They serve you and don't come to check on you. But are in the kitchen talking loudly & laughing
- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Tebogo (9/5): Superb - The stuff is super friendly, the beds are comfortable and we loved the breakfast in the morning. The property has a swimming pool and my kids enjoyed themselves in the morning. We even got help in booking some activities around for the kids.
- Alissa (10/5): Great place to stay - Great accommodation. Hosts are so kind and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Location is great and breakfast was tasty. Bathroom not connected to room, but was right next door so no big issue.
- Mashuto (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the tsitsikamma manor exceeded my expectations 😌
- Chanak (9/5): Superb -
- EgbertSchipper64 (2/5): Legionella contamination after douche - We have had two sick people after staying at this guest house! As a result, I went to bed for a few days instead of going on holiday. Huge disappointment for a group of six people.
When taking a shower it turned out that brown water came out of the pipe. Contacted the manager about this. After promising that this would be resolved, it turned out an hour later that this had not yet been resolved. Then we left for another hotel.
Both owner and booking. Com gifts not at home!

- Bruno (6/5): Pleasant - Breakfast was OK, Almost no water in bathroom, not possible to take a shower😡
- Verified traveler (6/5): Low water pressure - Clean and well maintained. Off of the main strip in the tiny village of Tsitsikamma so not as convenient as other options. Main issue with the place was very low water pressure which means one cannot take a nice shower after a day of activity. No soap or shampoo in the rooms which is consistent with the reality of a lack of water flow.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Gorgeous and peaceful. Sitting in the garden staring at the mountains looming nearby was awe-inducing. The staff was very helpful and I had a lovely breakfast in the morning. There was some noise, particularly barking dogs, late into the night from the homes across the street.
- Slindile (9/5): Superb -
- Jonas (9/5): Superb -
- Marcela (9/5): Superb -
- Sandile (9/5): Superb - Diego and Charity were the best. They know how to entertain their guests. They did everything to make our stay beautiful. Diego was our tour guide specialist. Anything we needed Charity helped us. Food was excellent. The ladies in the kitchen were great cookers. The environment is excellent and friendly.
- Pamela (10/5): Perfect location for exploring Tsitsikamma National Park. - Warm and welcoming hosts! Lovely grounds and clean rooms. The breakfast was quite tasty and served outside on the patio. The inn was a bit farther of a walk to village restaurants than I had realized, but not far and still easily doable. The inn has a separate bar, and if you're lucky, it will be a night when the locals come in to socialize and have fun! Our room, although quite large, was wheelchair access and felt just a wee bit institutional. Plus, it faced the parking area.
Next time we'll stay in one of the slightly smaller rooms (with a bathtub!) that overlook the garden. Wish we'd had more time to stay here longer and explore the area, which offers an abundance of activities!
- Mathilde (10/5): I enjoyed very much staying there. - The breakfast was great. The people were very friendly and helpful.
- Thomas (10/5): Great short stay at this place. The Breakfast was definitely a highlight and the personal helpful. -
- Phillipe (8/5): Very good -
- Sulisti (10/5): Exceptional - Upgraded the room in the front is great, lovely breakfast, staff is friendly and helpful, beautiful scenery, garden, very clean beautiful guest house, highly recommended
- Morgan (9/5): Superb -
- Melina (10/5): Lovely - The staff was lovely. They were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The location was nearby the park, which was perfect. And the garden was just beautiful.
We read some comments about the township but we felt very safe as two young girls
- Itai (8/5): Very good - Staff was amazing, the helped us a lot with activities in the area, breakfast was good The bathroom is not part of the room and ours didn't have a key and the room was quite small
- Ignacio (6/5): If South Africa is playing rugby that they either joing them or avoid this place. - Location is close to activities, 5km from the main gate of the park. The girl at the reception is just full of smiles and always eager to help. We were there when South Africa was playing the world cup, so the bar of the hotel would get full, and noisy. Plus to get out they would honk two or three times, so that was quite annoying when you're trying to sleep and relax. WiFi did not work so well.
Breakfast is very poor.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional Accommodation - Service, staff, vibe, location, tranquillity, the compassion and generosity of the staff. I loved it all!!
- Nikita (9/5): Superb - The staff was amazing! Very helpful and friendly, at the place there is a very nice bar with snooker table, a great opportunity to meet and chat with the locals. The owner is very nice person..great place to stay at stormsriver! In my room the bathroom and the toilet were separated from the room, thing that was not shown or stated before our arrival, other than that everything was perfect.
- Kaia (8/5): If you are looking for an affordable place near Tsitsikamma this is defiantly the place for you. - Great value for money. Location is great for Tsitsikamma day trips. The breakfast is great and has nice variety. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. The facilities are not that new, but defiantly worth the money. Not so quite - the outer door is located near the parking and some loud music was played from other place near the manor.
- Sestile (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is friendly
Service was excellent
- Pushkin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annalise (6/5): Pleasant - Very friendly staff and the room was clean. The local community across the road was intimidating especially traveling female alone. I stayed over a Friday night and could not sleep at all with the noise of parties until after 3am
- Sebastian (8/5): Great views and garden! - The view from our room was amazing. The staff was really friendly and served us a delicious breakfast. It’s close to the tsitsikamma national park which is convenient. And the town has some quaint restaurants with homely food. Our bathroom was unfortunately not en suite, which is a little inconvenient at night.
- Dale (10/5): Exceptional - The Staff were amazing. The facilities, rooms, dining areas are all impeccably clean. It was a pleasure staying with you.
- Ayanda (10/5): It was awesome. Arrived very late but we recieved a warm welcome. - Breakfast was so nice,it was served with love. Best service ever. There is nothing i didnt like about our stay except for the fact that the bathroom was outside the room. So we had to leave the room to go to the bathroom.
- K (8/5): Very good -
- Greta (10/5): Exceptional - quiet place in the middle of the nature
the breakfast outside was amazing
- Kally (8/5): Great local vibe, with welcoming host - Charity was very welcoming. Shared tips on where to eat and what to do.
