• Consuelo (6/5): Comfortable stay but next year FLF we'll return to spacier accommodation on Franschhoek outskirts. - Comfortable room, pleasant helpful staff, good breakfast. Good accommodation for anybody wanting to walk into town to FLF venues and many restaurants etc. Only 3x inside secure parkings. We arrived separately in 2x vehicles and had to park outside on the street (property does not have its own security guard). Could have been mentioned on our email or phone communication. Comfortable bed and room but open-plan bathroom area not our preference. Perhaps mentioned but I didn't pick it up on the booking site. Too many outside security lights around room, even with blinds closed. A personal preference but property restricted to a big house and pool area, not enough open area/gardens. We prefer a feeling of open spaces with views. A plan was made for breakfast in the reception lobby because a chilly morning - special effort was made and appreciated - but felt a little crammed and adhoc.

• jurgen (6/5): The BB was a bit disappointing, it is definitely not a 5 star house with a lot of basics missing. - Good location, within walking distance to restaurants. Friendly staff. Th experience overall was one of disappointment for a 5 star establishment. It is very small, with hardly any garden, no proper breakfast room. The suite was quite average with basic amenities missing like extractor fan in bathroom, no block out curtains (only shutters), no proper tea selection, basic toiletries etc. Can be a bit noisy with neighbouring dogs barking a lot.

Lokale Kunst im Haus gefiel mir gut. Ich brauche keine 5 Dekokissen auf dem Bett, die ich dann im Schrank verstauen muss, dies gilt aber für fast alle Unterkünfte🤷‍♀️.

The bed was comfortable, the suite spacious and the breakfasts were excellent! The B & B was nicely located just a 5 minute stroll to the Main Street. All in all, a nice place to stay! The reception closed at 5.30 pm so this really is a B & B rather than a hotel. Other tourists we spoke to all felt the prices in Franschoek were far too high compared with other places in South Africa including the accommodation. One note, please upgrade the hairdryer and toiletries!

Staff are always welcoming and very friendly and personable yet professional. Room always clean and breakfast good. The new breakfast menu is somewhat busy and offered far too much choice and often caused confusion with the staff on what you chose. Didn’t expect to be charged for a bottle of water and felt that was petty and unnecessary. Water should be complimentary.

The hotel is perfectly located in the center, with everything within easy walking distance, making it ideal for exploring the area. A special thank you goes to Stanley, the incredibly kind and helpful manager, who assists with anything you might need and makes you feel genuinely welcome from the very first moment. A wonderful boutique hotel we would happily return to.

About 10 guests and the space was such that we got to interact with other couples.. The breakfast was great as were the stff We had the smallest room which had blinds that were permanently shut so the room was without natural light and so no view at all Parking for three cars was at times awkward.

• James (10/5): Faultless stay in Franschhoek, with outstanding staff - This was genuinely one of the best guest houses my wife and I have ever stayed in. Everything was immaculate and beautifully looked after, and we were kindly allowed to check in a little early which was a really nice start to the trip. Our room was amazing. A huge, very comfortable bed, air con, high ceilings, and a massive bathroom. Everything was spotless, and the minibar was properly well stocked, which is always appreciated. Breakfast each morning was a highlight. Plenty of food, cooked to perfection, the mushrooms in particular were incredible. The location is perfect too. It is about a 5 to 10 minute walk down to the High Street. The staff also suggested a lovely little restaurant and craft beer microbrewery nearby which we really enjoyed. If you want to go further afield there are plenty of Ubers and private transfers available. There is secure off-street parking on site (although it felt safe enough on the street as well), the free guest Wi-Fi was more than fast enough, and it was nice and quiet while we were there. What really makes Fleur Du Soleil stand out, though, is the team. Everyone was friendly and genuinely accommodating. Stanley, the manager, was fantastic and took the time to talk us through vineyard recommendations and what each place specialises in, which made planning our days so much easier. We honestly cannot fault anything. The only downside was that we were not there for long enough. We will 100% be back and next time we will stay longer. Thank you to Stanley, Victoria, and the whole team for an unforgettable stay.

We were charged R20 for biscuits - usually they are complementary!

The staff was very helpful in all our requests and made sure that we had a great stay. The breakfast served was fantastic, we could choose the time when it's being served in our room or alternatively in the hotel lobby. Stanley and Victoria were helping us with bookings for restaurants and transportations which was very convenient for us. The location is great, approx. 5min from the main road which made it a easy walk and was also calm during the night. The hotel room was very clean.

Man hat einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen. Das Zimmer war direkt am Pool gelegen, auch unser Frühstück konnten wir direkt dort einnehmen. Das Frühstück ist auch hervorzuheben: selbstgemachte Marmeladen, frisch zubereitete Croissants, jeden Tag eine Platte mit frischen Früchten; auf Wunsch gab es auch frisch zubereitete Eiervariationen. On Top gab es auch eine toll gestaltete Holzplatte mit Käse und Wurst - auch sehr gutes Joghurt mit Müsli war vorhanden. Parkplatz war direkt am Haus. Wir würden das "Fleur du Soleil" in Franschhoek wieder wählen. None

They couldn’t have looked after us enough, we absolutely loved it here. The room was beautiful, the breakfast was so gorgeous, the pool area was lovely… just great. Stanley and the whole team were so incredibly lovely and an absolute delight. Stanley also arranged a wine tour day for us with a private driver and it was awesome! Highly recommend that. The restaurants were lovely (especially Eleven) and if you’re there on a weekend, go to the Saturday market.

• Gillian (10/5): The best stay, definitely the best breakfast. - We loved everything about this guest house….the decor and furnishings are beautiful. Anton was super helpful and organised our wine tram trip. The staff were all so lovely. The breakfast was unbeatable and served with a smile on the beautiful terrace by the pool. Will definitely return on our next visit to South Africa. It was absolutely perfect. First class.
