Guest Reviews
- SAFA (8/5): - Cosy hotel in the town center.
- zizounyc (10/5): Landmark Hotel - What can I say. Naaz is home away from my birth home just a few streets down from the clocktower. Although I now live abroad and have experienced every level of hospitality, nothing feels more comfortable and familiar than Naaz. It's been around for nearly 40-50 years and remains as charming as ever. From management to staff, I consider these people good friends in Arusha.
- fredyk423 (10/5): Best Lunchbox - I run Meet Africa Safari, and I always get a lunchbox from Naazi Hotel. They are making adorable lunchboxes, and they can also include any special food restrictions. So if you are starting your safari from Arusha, I highly recommend taking the lunchboxes from them.@Kissay's
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This hotel was very very dirty. The bedding was vary stained and dirty. The shower didn't work. The location is very noisy. I would not ever stay there again. I left to a new hotel.
- Wish2Travel4ever (10/5): Great Place To Stay in Arusha - I booked the Arusha Naaz Hotel for 2 days after my Safari. I was unsure of what to expect for the price. I was very surprised at what I got. I felt more welcomed here than at just about any hotel that I have stayed in. The room was clean. The food was good. The service was great. This will be my choice when I return to Arusha. My only complaint would be the wifi. But who needs wifi on vacation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel in the city center - Arusha Naaz Hotel is located near the Clock Tower/city center, cafes, and shops.
Our room had good size, and fast wifi connection. The staff were helpful. They accommodated our request to have our suitcases in the hotel as we went away for a couple of days. The only concern I had was the bedsheets used in the room were not clean. Please ensure to change them after your guest(s) check out.
- Lazthebagelguy (6/5): Great location, basic and poor standard - Hotel location is very good, very close to city center. Few minutes walk to market, coffeeshops and restaurants. Hotel is safe, area is safe. Rooms are clean but very basic, toilet wasn't working unfortunately.
- TarimoTaxi (6/5): Good - Arusha Naaz Hotel is Good restaurant located few metres from clock tower, They provide good service, I have been there may times so I recommend you to try them.
Thank you Arusha Naaz Hotel for your hospitality...
- vikindu (8/5): Descent Accomodation - Stayed for a night with family.Rooms were nice and descent with all necessary facilities.
Price is also reasonable
If bathroom doors can be changed from aluminium to uPVC it would give a better look as those doors are very heavy duty and not meant for toilet/bathroom purpose.
Besides the door closer on the door is not necessary as this is normally used in office doors.my child was finding it difficult to open the door of the bathroom due to the door closer installed.
The beds and linens with quilt and pillow are excellent and offer very sound sleep.
- KENYA-TANZANIA_1 (8/5): Reasonable Price - If you are looking for a good reasonable price you here you are, we had the best breakfast, fresh foods, the cocktail juice was the highlight, you should also try chicken pie really good.. amazing staff great location in town near the clock tower
- seal63 (8/5): Friendly and accommodating management - We stayed for a few hours on route to the airport. Very well located in the centre of town with some good eating and shopping (Masai Market|) options close by. Clean place with a lovely first floor courtyard to relax if you are a group. The management and staff were very accommodating of our needs, including a 3 am check out. Good value for money.
- planetalidi (8/5): Nice acommodation in centrum Arusha - Hotel is situated in centrum of the town, near to clocks. Nice place, clean rooms, strong wifi and pleasant staff. All what you want if you are preparing to safari to NP Manyara, or Serengeti. Included resturant.
- timok267 (8/5): Friendly reception and nice rooms - The hotel is centrally located near the clocktower. The reception is friendly and the hotel provides luggage room for our gear during the time of our safari. Breaksfast is good. The rooms are nice, but unfortunately the water did not come and I had to change the room with no troubles. The breakfast is ok.
- 584mirzaa (6/5): BUDGET HOTEL - GOOD FOR SPENDING A NIGHT ENROUTE TO NATIONAL PARKS - Nice comfortable rooms for a short stay in Arusha enroute to National parks such as Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Manyara etc. If you are on a budget and would like to spend more on visiting various places than on hotels then opt for it.
- DrChevin (6/5): Expensive and very basic - The Location is good. It is in the middle of the city, so easy to go by foot anywhere. Up and down the street are nice places to have a good breakfast. Because the breakfast provided was very poor - no choice and no service. The staff of the hotel was unfriendly and for this price I would expect more. The first room was dirty so we had to change it (this was done without any problem though).
- MrMirembe (8/5): Basic but good value - Stayed here for 3 nights recently and its secure, cheap, clean, hot and cold water, a/c, Tv and a clean and comfortable bed. Check in and check out was easy and friendly. Close to town centre and within easy walking distance of most places and with a fast food restaurant that is also clean cheap and good value. If you are on a budget and happy with the above the Naaz is recommended.
- berkiegirl (8/5): Comfortable and clean - Booked a triple room for 3 nights before and 1 night after our safari. My 2 children and I (aged 10 and 12) enjoyed our stay but must admit we hardly left the room as it was our rest days between safaris. Free wifi was the best we came across in Africa, could facetime and watch movies easily.
In my opinion the hawkers outside the hotel are no worse than anywhere else in Arusha, rather persistent and cheeky with their prices but friendly.
Linen was fresh and clean, mozzie nets on each bed, included breakfast was great and handy location with bureau de change 2 doors down, reasonably prices cafe 4 doors down and mini supermarket right next door.
Only 2 negatives - The price of the laundry service. Couldn't afford to get many items washed at approx US$1-2 each. And street noise during the night but guessing you'd find this anywhere in the centre of town.
- MzeeDean (6/5): Stopped in to enjoy the Chai, Mandazis and Samosas. - In my humble opinion the Naaz serves the best Samosas in the world. I dropped in to the Naaz Hotel because I remembered the great food I had there as a young man. I was not disappointed and the nostalgic visit makes this place a must for every visit to Arusha. The hotel is still running though, I didn't check out the accomodations.
- J538AIheathers (4/5): Safety for women a concern by me. - The place I was volunteering for put me and another girl here in separate rooms. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hot water was good. Breakfast and service in restaurant were good. But........as this hotel is right downtown by the clock tower it was very busy outside the front doorway leading to the courtyard. Flycatchers, (young men and woman hoping to sell you something or find you a place for your purchases) were everywhere. On the third morning of our stay, we started getting harassed so badly we felt uncomfortable, five young men even followed us into the courtyard of the hotel and would not leave us alone. We were surrounded and none of the staff came forward to deal with them. We called our coordinator and asked them to please find us other accommodation which they did. Not good hotel service at all for safety.
- pavrlza (6/5): An OK Place - I guess that 'average' is the best definition.
Very good stuff and location - not the city centre but close to anything you will need.
Room was clean and comfortable, stayed there for two nights and then changed for a cheaper place.
Beware of street touts ("fly catchers") which just stick to you from the moment you step out of the hotel!
- muzaffary2015 (6/5): Holiday - Clean and good service. Very much central and surrounded by Banks and Bureau.
The restaurant was reasonable with good breakfast. I would recommend for budget travelers. Basic rooms with hot water shower.
- HermanVIII (4/5): Budget option Arusha center - Stayed here for one night. Small rooms. Old bathroom. Moderate breakfast. But the worst thing was stool on one of the towels provided by the hotel.
A budget option in the center of Arusha, but I would never go back again!
- Supaimorani (6/5): It's not awful if you wanna be in town. - This place has been around for ages, so naturally it's not a gleaming hotel like the New Arusha, which is just "a block" away. But, like the New Arusha hotel, this one is also situated in a convenient and safe part of town. Granted, you can find a nice lodge just on the fringes of town for a slight bit cheaper -- this is still a comfortable and reasonably priced option.
The staff are very nice, and the mamas upstairs will help you with most any chore should you need. The restaurant is not much, but has got delicious indian finger foods (Samosas, Kababs, etc.) and although their lunch buffet is simple indian fare, it's at a great price and also quite tasty.
All in all, it's not a bad place to be holed up for a day or two before and after a safari. The location puts you close to some great cafes, the masai shopping market, and the New Arusha Hotel where you can go for gourmet food and even a swim if it's warm enough.
