Guest Reviews
- Neil (6/5): - For a basic hotel it was adequate, if the temperature outside is hot it will be a struggle as there is no air conditioning and if you keep the windows open traffic noise can be intrusive.
- Karla (10/5): - Adorable! We absolutely loved this place, it was so charming and the staff were lovely. Pretty easy to find, parking on site. Walked around the river and the village. We were there long enough to visit the castle nearby but we would have if had time.
- Audra (8/5): - The restaurant food was excellent! The bed is small and pillows not very comfortable. The room is outdated. The location is excellent with a nice walk along. Staff were exceptionally nice and helpful.
- Anna (4/5): - The location and restaurant are great. I would never stay here again. Felt like I was staying in a dorm room.
- nathalie (6/5): correct.
- Claire (10/5): - The property is in an idyllic village on the banks of the River Seine. Chateau La Roche Guyon is opposite the hotel. The hotel is a charming old building but very comfortable. The food is delicious and the staff are lovely
- Frank (10/5): - Toller Ort.
- Vincent (6/5): Go for the view, not the hotel itself - You go there for the view and location—a picturesque village near Giverny/Monet’s Garden. The hotel is located on the Seine and the view is beautiful. The rooms themselves, while small, are adequate and up to date. It is just that the hotel itself needs a facelift—the building interior is a bit dated. Price is fair for what you get, and as far as I can tell, they are the only hotel in town.
- Julia (8/5): - The hotel was in an excellent location - a very pretty village, with a chateau and walks along the riverbank. Easy driving distance to Money’s garden in Giverny, other chateaux and beautiful countryside.
It has a good bar and restaurant, with staff who are very friendly and helpful.
The main building itself was very good, but the annexe along the road was fairly ‘tired’ looking, and lacked attention to detail.
Several small faults including missing light bulbs, toilets broken, beds not made properly, shower gels not replenished etc.
If booking a room, I would suggest stipulating that you only wish to stay in the main building, not the annexe, then you will have an excellent stay.
- Mark (10/5): - The hotel was a charming hotel on the Seine River in the center of the cute town of Le Roche-Guyon. The restaurant was great and it had a very nice patio.
- Christopher (8/5): - Great location in lovely old village
- Michael (10/5): Wonderful. - A beautiful hotel in one of the most beautiful villages in France. The staff were very friendly and helpful. What more do you need to say?
- Nicholas (6/5): Needs updating - Rooms looking very tired
Chipped paint. Bathroom had water damage to bath panel, cracked floor tiles. Poor shower
- Marie-Christine (8/5): - Bien dans l'ensemble, manque séchoir à cheveux....
- Richard (6/5): - Basically the setting and place are absolutely stunning with the river views and the castle as a backdrop. The hotel has great old time charm without being to basic on the sanitation (bathroom, toilet) side . However the bathtub should be removed as it is a hazard for people of age. The absence of a lift might be a deal breaker for many. Having mentioned this I realise this involves a great deal of investment something the owners are unable to provide.
Unfortunately I lost my pillow sheet filled with some clothing peaces. I forgot it was still on my bed but after the housekeeping cleaning no one could retrieve it as I came back in later to fetch it.
Overall a pleasant stay , sleeping on good beds, so all things considered a comfortable stay in La Belle France.
- pierre (8/5): - Pas d’avis particulier.
- Christian (10/5): - Tres bon week end. Belle chambre avec vue sur Seine. Diner correct
- Detlef (8/5): - Good dinner in the Restaurant, rooms are a bit small.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - Perhaps slightly understaffed,- poor cleanliness on bar terrace we were directed to.
Lovely location. Nice restaurant
- Calypso (6/5): Entretien & propreté - Sejour convenable
Accueil sympa
- Cora (8/5): - Charmante y sympatique.
- Berto (10/5): - Very nice location to spend the night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Location is the only plus tbh. - Very tired hotel with small out dated rooms.
We booked bed and breakfast but charged extra for breakfast as it was not included, if we’d known we would have eaten out.
The location is splendid and they serve dinner outside which was pleasant, food was ok.
We stayed here as it’s close to Giverny, 15 minutes drive.
- MichaelHumphrie (10/5): - The site of this hotel is wonderfully situated beside the river with pleasant walks nearby.
Food choice is varied and interesting and of great quality.
The location is not great if you are racing to the South of France - but definitely worth while .
- Samantha (10/5): Perfect weekend - Friendly, helpful staff, very good service. Excellent location next to the river in a pretty village, the chateau is amazing.
The restaurant was very good, we had a lovely meal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We said we were going to arrive late yet when we arrived there were no staff and we had to spend 4 hours trying to sleep on the floor in the entrance until a member of staff arrived at 6.30am and as we were in France for a family funeral this was not good.
- Stuart (10/5): - My wife and I had a very enjoyable two nights stay. The location of the Hotel overlooking the Seine and its interesting river traffic, was most pleasant, with the interesting Chateau some 300 mts away. Car parking was very convenient.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - séjour très très bien,
propreté impeccable ,
personnel agréable,
table + excellente
mais literie a revoir
Merci a tous a bientôt
- Didier (8/5): La Roche Guyon - Giverny - Bon séjour, hôtel bien situé, chambres simples mais bien tenues.
- Harold (10/5): Place with ambience - We were looking for a true French experience. This location sure fir our expectations.
- Celia (8/5): - Lovely hotel in a good position. Friendly helpful staff. But room very small and overfilled of furniture badly organised. Good food. Will come again, but request a bigger room at the front.
- Henrietta (8/5): A Truly French Experience - Les Bords de Seine is a typical Logis, with a good restaurant and about 8 basic bedrooms en-suite, which are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful, but most of them do to not speak any English. We loved our time here, as it was so typically French. We were happy that we had a room at the back of the hotel, which does not look over the river, as with a busy restaurant the front rooms would be noisy. Plenty of motorbikes arrive over the weekend, as it is an easy journey from Paris. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this will not suit you. La Roche-Guyon has a chateau and Monet's Garden at Giverny is only a 10 minute drive away
- NICHOLAS (8/5): Quaint and peaceful - La Roche-Guyon a cute little place with quite an interesting history. Set on the banks of the Seine where a bridge used to cross this little hotel and restaurant is a gem. Lovely peaceful stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely location - Enjoyed my visit to La Roche Guyon. Such a lovely part of the world....
