Ужасно грязно! Постельное белье и полотенца желтого цвета, хотя должны быть белыми. Это очень испортило впечатление. Со всем остальным можно смириться: плохое расположение, ужасные рестораны, плохие магазины. Но грязное постельное белье и полотенца это ужасно.

- Silve (6/5): - Its a good place for a quick on night stay. Bedsheets were good. View from window was great! Our towels were disgusting. Super old and lots of dark yellow stains on. Luckily we had our own towel with us. Little coffee table in room was broken. One leg just fell off if you touched the table. Breakfast room is big and vibe very weird. In booking.com breakfast time is 6.30-9:30, -first morning we arrived 7.10 on they just started cooking things and putting coffee out. Next morning we went 9:10 and everything was already cleaned. Pool on the rooftop was also dirty and water not clean. Didn't saw any other costumers, felt like ghost town :)

- Mike (5/5): Passable - The location is good, close to many local restaurants, the room was clean and comfortable, staff very helpful and the bed was good. Given the vast choice and explosion of hotels in Bai Chay recently, I'm not sure if we'd stay here again..... This was my third time staying here at The Light in Bai Chay, near Ha Long City. The first two times were great, but unfortunately this time was a bit disappointing. Why? In the first room, we had to go and ask for the air-con remote, only to discover that the air-con didn't work. Thankfully, they gave us the opportunity to move room, which we did, the next day. However, once again, the air-con did not work in the new room. Although they gave us the chance to move room again, it was too much bother to pack up and move, yet again. Also, the breakfast was not as good as I recall. The fried eggs were cooked to within an inch of their life and were like rubber. There was no sliced bread to put in the toasters, only buns. We inquired and were told that the owner only buys that kind of bread. Only Vietnamese coffee was available. It's OK, but another option would be appreciated as not everyone can stomach Vietnamese coffee. The staff have breakfast at the same time as the guests, making it uncomfortable if you have to ask them for something as I felt I was disturbing them.

The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a basic breakfast included to start the day. The hotel is conveniently located near several local restaurants, making it easy to explore the area. The staff were exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The Wi-Fi speed was reliable and fast—no complaints there. One thing to note: the hotel is located near a hill, which could be challenging for those with mobility issues, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.

Couldn't ask too much cause you get what you pay for! Besides, they also provide laundry services and tours around the bay which is pretty good and convenient! Good location, the food was amazing, and specially thanks to all of the friendly and helpful Receptionist at the front desk. They're served!

Breakfast not much variety.

The room is downstairs and the window overlooks the wall of another house 10 centimeters away. No good view and little light, but if you are only staying at the hotel, then there are no problems.

However; the pool is out of commission - not mentioned when booking. Our toilet wouldn’t flush. The fridge had a touch of mould and needed a deep clean.

Jenny Hoang and her mother were wonderful hosts back then, and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Jenny arranged for me to go on a 1-night cruise while in Ha Long. When I decided to revisit Vietnam this October, I contacted The Light Hotel and was pleased to learn from Jenny that her family still owns and operates the hotel. Jenny and her mother have not changed in the past 9 years: still warm and very welcoming. Joyful reunion. The hotel has expanded from 2 levels of rooms to 6 levels. My room was on level 5 with a view overlooking part of the city. The accommodation is new, spacious, very clean with all the amenities of a 5-star hotel. The breakfast was varied and delicious. In summary, I highly recommend The Light Hotel for your stay in Ha Long. You will cherish your time at this family hotel. Everything is excellent.

Our sheets were very dirty and had stains on them and there was cockroaches in the room. No toiletpaper also. We gave them our clothes for laundry service and they came back as dirty as before just with a smell of parfume.

Free Wi-Fi and communal kitchen were big pluses! However, the noise from the street at night was a bit disruptive. Overall, great value for the price!

Good location and the front desk help you book excursions around Halong and buses elsewhere. Pool table in the lobby too. The rooms are basic but clean and with a big locker to store even large bags.

The aircon was probably the only good thing about this hotel. The breakfast wasn’t great, not at all much variety, mainly Vietnamese food. They must have locals stay here as well as the walls were paper thin and you could hear everrrrything happening outside the door, very loud. Wasn’t much around outside as well, we felt like the only tourists there.
