- Frederick (2/5): - Bonsoir Il est minuit 30, nous venons de quitter la chambre louée. Nous sommes arrivées à la chambre vers les minuits. Malgré une réservation pour 2 adultes et 1 enfant, il n'y avait aucune couverture pour le lit d'appoint ni d'oreiller supplémentaire. Seulement 2 serviettes En regardant le lit, le drap qui était sur le lit était rempli de bibittes comme des puces (voir photo). Vous comprendrez notre décision de quitter immédiatement la chambre. Je considère que vous n'avez pas offert ce qui était prévu lors de la réservation

- 976darynf (2/5): Immoral and criminal - Absolutely horrendous business to work with. I booked a stay in Montreal for eight months in the future, then cancelled it two days later. They have a fourteen day cancellation policy so I assumed all was good. Then, several months later, they send me an invoice for the stay and an email saying they were cancelling. I thought it was just a hiccup in their administration. About a month later I notice they had charged my credit card for the full stay. It was a fluke I even noticed. This occurs several months after I cancelled and several months before my booking was to take place. I contact them every couple of days to see where my refund situation is, and they just apologize and make excuses. Don't even think about booking with these crooks.

- 40jazminc (2/5): HORRIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! - The most terrible experience ever with this pseudo "hotel", it´s not even a hotel it´s a pair of really deteriorated apartments. Not even talking about the "Customer Service" that they have where they just send you a code that doesn´t even open the door. Please do not book here save your money and your time.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean, ok for a short stay, internet iffy - It's a small place that works for a very short stay. We booked for 10 days and had to ask for basic amenities like a cutting board, a broom, a bath plug and tea towel. We ended up buying those ourselves and got reimbursed. Communication was excellent until we had consistent internet problems then we were told to wait for help that never came and it was never resolved, it felt they were running the clock on that.

I originally booked a 2 night stay and ended up booking into an actual Hotel for the 2nd night. I got to this place on a Wednesday at about 3pm and was gone by 11am the next morning.
- hamo (2/5): - property full of dust, dirty, spider web everywhere. Pull up Sofa was piece of art!! It seems they did not clean or vacuum for quite time. Almost nothing left from pull up sofa mattress. Parking was on street with time and day variables. You must be cautious for day and time not to get ticket.
- Vahid (2/5): Very bad experience - Our experience at the hotel was terrible, there was a big difference between the online photo and the actual room. It hasn’t been cleaned and there were a lot of dead and alive bugs everywhere. Even when we opened the sofa bed, we found out that it is broken and a pair of dirty socks or underwear were in there. We contacted the owner of the hotel a couple of times and explained the situation, however, we never heard back from him. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
- Porya (2/5): Better to sleep in your car than this garbage - If you are searching for a place to stay in Montreal, don't look over here. This absolute wreck of a "hotel" ruined my entire family trip. At first glance, the outside door was covered by spiders which made it difficult for my little kids to go through. Hoping that the inside would be like the pictures was also a big mistake. Spiders were all over the house, and the place clearly hadn't been cleaned since that last couple of guests. The pullout couch was broken, and after finally opening it, we found shards of glass and underwear. The toilet had multiple stains on it, and not only did the air conditioning barely work, but it also had spilt a bunch of water over my phone overnight. I also had to go through two large paper towels in order to wipe down the table as it was that dirty. The worse part was when after messaging Daniel (the owner) about all of this he completely ghosted us till the final day only to remind us to checkout. Daniel took no responsibility and clearly doesn't care about his guests or the welfare of his rooms
- David (2/5): Do not stay here unless you like getting scammed! - Destination Scams is a more suitable name for this property. Was sent the wrong access code for the unit and when I contacted (via text) the representative (Daniel) I was left standing outside the unit for over two hours with no reply. Called the number repeatedly with no answer and voicemail full and unable to leave a message. Finally a reply to text after more than two hours of unresponsiveness and someone showed up to solve the access code issue. Two separate transactions were charged to my Visa for which I received a receipt however on the day of check-in, instead of processing an incidental deposit hold for $145 (as stated in the reservation) an additional charge for the full amount of the reservation was put through without my consent and no receipt provided. Yes. Charged double. Upon completion of my stay, I emailed and texted the representative and no surprise, no reply or response to reverse this double charge. Unscrupulous business practices. Completely unprofessional.

- HappyTraveller1349 (2/5): Worst Experience Ever - This is the worst place to stay. We stayed at this apartment from September 29th to October 6. I'll begin with the two power outages. The first occurring on Monday, September 30th. We left the building to run an errand and came back to find we couldn't get back in! I sent a couple of texts, and email AND a voice message and NO ONE bothered to get back to me to provide an update as to when the power might come back on. We spoke with the fellow who runs the Depanneur below and he indicated that it was a planned outage and the restaurant told us it didn't come back on until 4:00. I received a 'welcoming' email in the afternoon hoping we were having a good experience and I responded by asking if the power was on. They said it was - no apologies for the outage, no apologies for not responding - nothing. THEN on Wednesday, the power went out again! We had to leave because it was getting cold and we couldn't make tea/coffee or food. We've no idea when it came back on, because AGAIN, no one bothered to contact us. I understand that power outages are out of their control. However, common courtesy dictates that you inform your guests and provide a status update on the situation. After our stay, we received an email asking if there is anything they could do to make their property a more special five-star experience. As soon as you enter the building you get an idea of what awaits between the odour and worn carpeting on the stairs. A five star property (ANY well cared for property) would have a toilet paper holder in the bathroom along with towel bars to hang wet towels on. It would NOT include a vent in the bathroom floor that allowed foul smelling odours to flow through the apartment! It would have an electrical outlet in the kitchen area to allow you to plug in appliances instead of having to find the extension cord and plug things in on the floor! The one outlet buried in too tall cabinets (which is too tall for the average person), behind the glasses, is totally inappropriate as well as a safety hazard. The 'living room' furniture is old and worn. It took an enormous amount of strength to open up the sofa bed as it was stuck. There was no cover for the spare duvet, nor were there any spare pillows for our son (whom I mentioned would be staying with us on the weekend). The bedroom is another matter. The main dresser had broken drawers. The two tall cabinets on either side of the bed were filthy with dust on the insides and unusable! The curtains in the bedroom didn't fit the window properly and let a lot of the street light into the room. The curtains were either covered in white paint or were bleached out in areas. The closet system with hooks instead of a bar to hang clothes is awful and could certainly stand a coat of paint! Overall, we were totally disappointed and unimpressed with the property and it certainly did not live up to the picture presented on Expedia. Numerous attempts to seek compensation were ignored and Expedia were no help either. They offered a credit but needed to call me back - never did. Don't waste your money on this property.

At first I had doubts because the pictures present different apartments but the one I rented was actually one of them and the other pictures were for apartments in the same building. The apartment was nice and clean and looked exactly like the picture. Check in process was very easy. I would recommend this apartment!
- Lamiah A. (4/5): Nothing like the photographs - My stay here was not what I expected at all. The unit I was placed in looked nothing like the photographs posted on vrbo. The thermostat is broken, the AC unit is extremely loud, the Wifi is terrible, and the location is not Griffintown, it is in St. Henri. Additionally, the entrance to the unit is quite run down. After emailing my concerns to the person in charge of communications, I recieved no response. Lastly, I had just moved to Montreal and asked for early check in or a place to put my luggage one week before my reservation and was told there was nothing they could do. So I had to wait with all my luggage at the airport until check in time. Overall, a dissapointing experience and a classic example of false advertising.

The area is sketchy and to top it all off, I prepaid and they did not get back to my son when he arrived. He was to call to get his entry code and room that they would be staying. They sat outside for 2 hours while I called my travel club. They also could not get through to them as their voicemail was full. A no show. We got our money back and I booked them at a reputable hotel chain.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - Feels like a small tenement, dressed up. Can't imagine how they got two stars. Location is misrepresented. This property is in St. Henri, not Griffintown. Griffintown isn't even the next neighborhood over. Entryway and hallway are filthy insect filled. Dead and alive. Room was tiny (12'x12'). Lighting was over bright and unadjustable. No lamps. Bed was a futon on the ground. No desk or night stand to put anything. TV and remote were there, but no signal, like a joke. Thermostat worked for heater only. AC was incredibly loud and constantly on. Controllable only by plug. No staff on site.

Disgusting! And other than the fact that the wireless didn’t get fixed until the second night and the bed sheets that felt like paper, it was great!

Utensils had some old food stuck on it sitting in the oven. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and the washroom tub had no curtain due to which water would come out all the time.

- Satish (6/5): Comfortable place but isolated in a way - The apartment was exactly as depicted in the pictures and was spacious and comfortable. The basic amenities were all in place and the apartment was spacious and neatly laid out. It has a separate dining area and two televisions. However the area is isolated and quite far from the nearest subway station. There is only grocery store close by. Plus you can hear the wooden floor squeaking from all the adjacent apartments. The air conditioner immediately needs to be serviced as it makes a lot of noise and leaks water. Intermittent house keeping will help clean the garbage and maintain the bathrooms and kitchen especially if you are staying for more than 2 nights. Basic items like salt, sugar, coffee, spatulas for cooking need to be provided in the kitchen. The kitchen needs to be better equipped.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible Experience from Start to Finish. - It took over a month and several phone calls before I got the 145 CAD deposit refunded, which they said would be refunded upon checkout. They called and asked for my card number over the phone, which seemed very unprofessional. I did get the refund, but I am not sure if it is because of me contacting them or if it was because I also disputed the charge with my bank. Additionally, there were problems from the moment we drove up to the moment we left. I called and asked where to park, and was told the spot should’ve been clearly marked behind the building. I drove up and down the little alley and could not find any marked spaces, so I parked in what appeared to be an open spot right. When tried to leave, the police were writing a ticket and had called a tow truck. When we first arrived, we walked up to our room and it was obvious that the people in the unit next to us were smoking marijuana. The smell was overwhelming. The furnishings are not bad, but it is not as big or high quality as the pictures showed. There is only one queen bed. The other is a fold out couch. I did not feel that the place was clean and I was not comfortable at all. The bathroom smelled so badly of mold that I could not stay in it long enough to shower. There was no toilet paper. The knobs/handles on the kitchen cabinet fell off when pulled. The unit is on the second level and there is a store below it, which we heard all night. If you are considering booking this place, don’t.
- Randahl (2/5): Not what they listed on Expedia. - The room in the picture on Expedia is what I was given, however, the room did not have 2 queen beds nor could it sleep 4 adults as listed. There was only one bed and a small sofa with cushions that folded out onto the floor, but only big enough for a child. There was no place for 4 adults to sleep as they stated. There also was no parking, not even on the street. I was told there was parking in the alley, but there was not; we would have to park illegally and get a ticket. I called their number and was told the second bed was an inflatable bed in the closet. There was not an inflatable bed anywhere in the unit, so they said they would bring it in the morning. Thus, it was not possible to stay even one night. I told them we could not stay, so to cancel the reservation, and I would request a refund. We had to leave and find another hotel at 11:00 PM. I realize that you take a chance with pre-pay, but in this case the room did not even have the minimum of what they said it did, which made it impossible for us to stay.

I was told in writing by the property manager that there were only a few steps and that it is on the first floor. It is above a store and there were many steps, bars on the windows and dirty. The hallway was disgusting. I have made an official complaint. I can't believe Hotels.com would advertise for this place!!!

- Verified traveler (4/5): Difficult check-in/out, beds not as advertised - a a Apartment #103 1) Difficult Check-In I didn't receive any check-in instructions so I called and was told that they don't have my email or phone. Gave them my email address and received check-in instructions with key-code for the doors. Some hours before we arrived I received a text message that they need a deposit and asked for a credit card number. Hmm, over phone/text? - very suspicious! Anyway gave them the CC and was told I need Kevo app to open the doors. In the end I didn't need the app, just the code that I received via email. 2) Room not as advertised The apartment is advertised having 2 beds to sleep 4 guests. The second bed is just a folding couch which is very small with a really poor mattress. The fan in the bathroom is broken, and the door doesn't close. The shower curtain was moldy. 3) After one week still didn't got back my deposit. I send emails and texts and it took 2 days to get a response. They said they refunded the deposit. I waited another 3 days, contacted them again, still no refund. Finally I went to my bank and disputed the charge to get it back. Overall very disappointing!

- Eduardo (2/5): Stay away, cheap and noisy - Not recommended at all. there is no way, this could be a 4 starts place to stay, 2 stars tops... the information is misleading, it is written they have 2 queen beds, and once you arrive there, you will find a double bed and an individual Ikea futon that will have you sleeping in the floor... the apartment is not clean and things are broken.. bathroom has a bad smell... it is a small place, and you can heard everything from the room next door.... STAY AWAY FROM IT... I am sorry, but it was not a good experience at all....

- Verified traveler (8/5): Apt style rental - Had a good experience overall. The staff was quick to respond and answer any questions. It was nice to be able to cook for myself for some meals. The unit I booked comfortably accommodated 2 people, I personally wouldn't have wanted to share the space with another couple as the only bathroom was off the main bedroom. Overall, the service was great and I liked the privacy this space offered.
