Guest Reviews
- JoB (8/5): - Got upgraded to wyboston events centre.. room was clean comfy and warm. There was only a couple of tea/coffee bags (yes a coffee tea bag! - which spilt when used!) and it was a long walk from the reception. Although once in room there was a closer door to enter and exit from into another part of the carpark
- Ben (10/5): - Very clean & modern room. Nothing.
- Felicity (8/5): -
- Roderick (7/5): -
- Rashmi (7/5): - We were moved from Woodlands to Willows.
The restaurant didn't have much choices in their menu.
- Peter (10/5): Excellent resort - Great place to stay, nice facilities and easy to get around
- JANET (8/5): -
- Graham (9/5): Excellently situated comfortable and clean overnight stay at a great price - Very conveniently situated exceptionally clean and well equipped hotel perfect for an overnight stay at a really good price point. Didn't have breakfast or evening meal so unable to comment. Nil
- Helen (10/5): - I don’t have a negative about this hotel. Would definitely stay again!
- M (7/5): Great -
- Verified traveler (10/5): night away - Great - provided everything I needed - very comfortable bed and excellent all round facilities
- Jayne (8/5): Very good -
- Dawn (9/5): Superb -
- Channing (8/5): Very good - The staff were friendly and helpful The events meant we could not eat at the establishment
- Simon (6/5): Nice hotel, shame about the food options - Pleasant hotel, rooms are comfortable and the staff are very helpful when asked but won’t engage otherwise. self check-in takes ages, so I would advise doing online prior to arriving if possible. Food in the hotel is burger, pizza, hot dog and salads, so if you are over 18, then you’re probably going to eat out which means driving or going to the neighbouring hotel
- Saor.ws (8/5): Sympa - Situation et confort Restaurant non accessible
- Tishchenko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Gemma (8/5): Poky but clean - Games bar with lots of different game types, decent bar with plenty of options and check in screens for quicker check in which should speed up process. Screen didn’t provide a room key, a very small room for the price, out of the way so struggled to get a taxi from Bedford and back. Queued to check in and the other lady didn’t step in to help the lady checking in others in front of us despite a queue growing. Stepped in after the queue had mostly dissipated thanks to most of us checking in on the screen and just needing to collect a key. Was told there was nowhere to get a drink and had to wait until the bar was open - the bar was already open.
- Farima (9/5): Superb -
- Beverley (6/5): Room good. Breakfast not good value - Clean room. Quiet location. Good value Breakfast not worth the money
Despite a room being available at 1.30, I needed to pay £25 for early check in. We declined - a bit of generosity and flexibility goes a long way
- Julijus (10/5): Outstanding 🤩🤗⚽️🍺 - Nice and quet & relaxing place Could be better
- Kate (9/5): Perfectly pleasant - It was quiet. The bed was big. Everything worked as it should. There were no coat hangers but that was sorted out easily.
- Folbigg (10/5): Exceptional - We got upgraded to the willows traing center just down the road and had a superior suit which was very clean and super comfy.
- Deborah (5/5): Good for work but basic rooms - Conference facilities were excellent Too far from other parts of the complex, gym, restaurants etc and nothing open for dinner when we arrived on Sunday
- Alan (10/5): Superb - Excellent facilities Nothing
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandra (6/5): - Was moved to lower standard property Willows Training Centre due to low occupancy at Woodlands Event Centre, so didn't get to actually stay here. Weren't going to reimburse difference in room rate, but gave me upgraded room when I complained. Staff all friendly, obviously trying hard to be eco friendly.
- Mattaustin1978 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vincent (7/5): Good -
- Hathaichanok (8/5): Very good - Bed and shower room How confused of the building
- Dean (8/5): Very good -
- Pennell (7/5): No time to use all the facilities as only an overnight stay. Bed comfy, staff lovely. - Dinner was very tasty - chicken tikka masala, as was breakfast.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. I found breakfast and drinks from the bar were expensive.
Clock on the television was 1hr fast - got a shock at that. Got me out of bed fast!!
No little niceties - tissues, toiletries - as was superior room.
- Simon (10/5): A great and friendly oasis - I arrived late by arrangement and had a little difficulty finding the place at 1 am. The night manager was brilliant and welcoming - a trait I’ve encountered both times I’ve checked in late. Room amazing, spotless and comfortable with brew facilities. Well done all!
- Richard (5/5): Not the best stay - Room Staff left me waiting in the restaurant as they had a company event on to they forgot about me totally unacceptable!
Plus I sent the main course back as it was Luke warm !
- Carl (9/5): Superb -
- Stella (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (8/5): Way better than expected - It was my first trip to somewhere I knew nothing about. I was en route north and needed to break my journey. Arrived at 2am to be met by the night receptionist who acted as though it was 11am. Charming, helpful and on the ball I regret not asking his name. I was expecting someone held asleep and looking like it; the reality was very pleasantly different.
The room was immaculate with everything I needed and the bed comfortable. Bathroom spotless and even zYorkshire teabags! Does it get any better. I slept like a log and left without breakfast which I regretted because it smelled good. Well done everyone involved in making my stay so good. I will be back.
- Geoff (6/5): - The Event Centre was not open when we arrived. It took a while to find out that we had been transferred to the Waterfront Hotel. It would have been helpful to have been informed of this change in advance.
That being said, delightful staff on reception, lovely room, great to have access to 1Life included.
- Kate (9/5): Clean and comfortable. Very pleasant. -
- Jimmy007 (1/5): Not helpful - Nothing Booked 2 refundable rooms my mistake and tried to cancel, staff totally not interested in helping.
As a long time customer I expected more.
- Jane (8/5): Very good - lovely view from dining room. variety of food for vegetarian/vegan not great.
property being renovated so parts new and parts a bit jaded.
- Emma (9/5): Superb - scrupulously clean, extremely comfortable beds
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Felicity (8/5): Very good - Comfy room, comfy bed, good shower, excellent breakfast Extractor fan in bathroom. Regular tea bags lacking in the room
- Shawgi (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (8/5): Very good - Great facility with very friendly and efficient staff.
Excellent good size room. Poor Wifi in the room.
Restaurant was good but expensive.
Alcohol excessively expensive.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (8/5): Very good - Staff very helpful. The kindness of the venue colleagues was polite. Excellent standards within the venue.
- Ivan (8/5): Very good -
- Tadeáš (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Felicity (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Lynne (5/5): Passable - Room very very very basic and the bed was lumpy there was a real dip in the bed, which you sort of fell into (room 117). Attended for a work dinner, service at the bar was slow as was dinner. No coffee served despite milk being on the tables. Extremely short staffed for the number of people at event and I even saw the receptionist assisting with service. At breakfast bacon was very dry despite me arriving 15 minutes after breakfast service had opened.Main corridors very clean but lift was in poor decor condition. Would not book to stay overnight again, on the room and breakfast alone not value for money, would rather stay at a Premier Inn!
- Cobalt (8/5): Very good -
- JONATHAN (8/5): nice stay - very nice place to stay all good
- Jtlea11 (8/5): Perfect for Business Layover - Room well appointed and the coffee bags are a nice touch
Bathroom clean and well organised
Ideal for a business layover
Internet is quick and reliable Building is huge and not so easy to navigate
- Alayne (8/5): Very good -
- Mesiete (8/5): Very good -
- Wayne (6/5): - The shower wasn't working properly. The water was red hot and there were no instructions on how to turn the temperature down.
There were only 4 tiny milk sachets. We had to ask for more. Not exactly expensive to provide more in the room.
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Valerie (7/5): Good after initial panic of thinking we had nowhere to stay.e to stay. - Cooked breakfast only warm. But good selection. The Event Centre was closed. Eventually found another building much further down the complex. Told us Event Centre always closed at weekend. Also no info that the Event Centre was in Wynaston Lakes, so hard to find. Bad info all round. We're on point of going home.
- Kakavko (8/5): Very good - The calm scenery Price
- Amanda (9/5): Perfect. - Friendly accommodating staff, clean and comfortable rooms, great location
- Kate (7/5): We didn't stay here this time. - We didn't stay at the Woodlands. We were upgraded to the Spa Hotel so I can't comment on Woodlands.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Stella (10/5): Perfect location for visiting family and excellent value for money. - Friendly staff, lovely waiter, excellent food.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (6/5): Ok for one night as a place to sleep. - The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were relieved to be able to open the window fully and there was a fan. This was during the heatwave. The bathroom. We were given a room suitable for a disabled person. The bathroom was large but poorly designed. The handbasin was tiny with nowhere to put anything. The space between the basin and the toilet was very small so that you couldn't stand at the basin comfortably. You couldn't see in the mirror while standing up because the mirror was so short. You had to sit on the toilet, which didn't have a lid, in order to shave and see in the mirror. The shower overflowed all over the floor but because there was a lip on the floor the water didn't run back. The shower head was poorly fixed so that the water ran straight down the wall, we had to do a temporary fix to be able to use it. I wonder how a person in a wheelchair would ever use the basin. Not all disabled people are in wheelchairs and if you're going to give the room to people who are not in a wheelchair, then you need to rethink the design.
You couldn't get the kettle under the taps because the basin was so small.
Bit mean on tea bags and milk and NO biscuits.
- Avril (6/5): An ok overnight stay nothing special - What a really weird resort, not helped by the baron landscape. The Waterfront restaurant was nice, but such a shame that tbe lake has 2 massive electricity pylons going across it. The Woodlands event centre seemed to be being run by some very young staff. They were very kind and helpful but lacked knowledge and leadership. I would give it a 7 out of 10. Not enough food or staff at breakfast.
- Ross (7/5): Good -
- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- Stuart (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (9/5): Amazing! The room was beautifully clean, well-equipped and comfortable. - The room was absolutely lovely. Really comfy and well-equipped. There was ample room for our luggage and we had a wonderful stay in a lovely quiet hotel room. Wish we could have stayed longer!
- Miao (8/5): a short stay - the environment is good. the golf club staff is very kindly to us and allowed us to practice golf. very few entertainment, no information about the activities.
- Ian (5/5): not a very welcoming facility - noisey neighbour’s, no bar open , no food facilities on site without going out , obviously more adapt to conferences!! soulless!!
- Pauline (10/5): - As described in a rural setting.
Surprised at calm modern interior- very welcoming- thou the reception area could be improved. Pete the gentleman upon our arrival close to midnight was wonderful.
the room it was very clean - as were the corridors when you walked through.
Only minus was we didn’t have AC in the room, thou they’re thoughtful enough to place an oscillating fan for you.
The bed was comfortable and slept through the night with noise- apart from the usual morning exiters!!! Would come again.
Loved the interior and furniture- got some nice selfies!
Can’t comment on breakfast as didn’t wake up early enough …
- Richard (6/5): People friendly but issues - On arriving staff very friendly, room was dirty, tables had both dust and sticky bits on them. There was no tea, only coffee. Bed cushion were stained. We ate at the restaurant which was ok, but quite overpriced, as was breakfast, toasters too small for the bread.
- Andy (6/5): Value for money poor - Overall value for money was poor. Better options in the area with small b&bs etc.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, very quiet, recently refurbished perfect for an overnight stay.
- Alec (4/5): A little bit disappointing - Overall the hotel was very clean and tidy as it is still quite new. Bed was comfortable and coffee making facilities were good and room was well equipped for business. Stay was let down by lack of knowledge by some staff and heating and shower broken, also the shower water pressure was abysmal for such a new facility.
- Tom (8/5): - Very pleasant stay at the hotel, all the facillities were clean, staff were very friendly. Nice open bar area and some table tennis and crazy golf at the weekends if you've got some time to kill.
Rooms were nice, bathrooms looked modern and seem to have been recently refurbished. Only complaint would be the room felt a bit hot and if you're the road side of the hotel there's a bit of traffic noise if you have the windows open. Close to plenty of things to do so i'd recommend it.
- Heather (10/5): My stay - Stayed for one night from the moment i arrived i was welcomed with 2 polite receptionist who informed me of meal times, how to book. Allocation of my room i felt very welcomed.
My room was spotlessly clean the furnishings the bedding are of top quality and i slept the best sleep in a very long time. I will definitely be booking again amazing hotel and staff.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very disappointing, pretty soulless place ok if you just need a bed for the night , although I wouldn’t pay more than £60 for the room
- Michael (10/5): Great stay - It was an excellent stay very friendly and very clean.
- STEPHEN (10/5): Lovely weekend - It was very good. All the staff were so friendly and made our stay special. Our oom was a bit tired but everything was there that we needed.
- Richard (10/5): comfy has quiet - I was working 1mile from hotel so location was key. A few nice pubs nearby - 10/15 minute walk. Very comfy hotel and big bed. I’m definitely going to stay here again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, spacious. Good breakfast.
Swimming pool at adjacent Health Club was tiny. More like a bath than a pool.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet, nice bar and outdoor area.Lovely grounds.Staff most approachable, reception staff welcoming and cleaning staff understandable.Pleasant neighbourhood. But very difficult to find. The sign on the approach road is not visible until you have passed it then it is all the way up the A1, round the roundabout and start again. The beds in the twin rooms are very narrow for a taller person like myself and the mattresses are very springy: indeed my wife fell out of bed during the night.Generally a pleasant experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Twin beds were only 2'6" wide not normal 3' single beds
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff , excellent food, valve for money. Will be visited again soon
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst Receptionist ever 😡 - 6 of us stayed here 17 08 2019.
On arrival I ask if our rooms where together ie on same floor ?
The receptionist Carly replied “there down there” and simple pointed to the left ....
To which I asked again as we had our children with us we needed to know.
Carly then said the rooms are all next to each other and moved away from reception.
At this point We should have just left as I couldn’t believe the attitude.
In fact the rooms were on the same floor not adjoining as we believed.
Carly needs retraining in customer care.
(It is worth remarking that the flowing morning she was back on reception and still seemed to have a bad attitude.)
We then attended a function returning to our rooms around 11-30.
We had opened our windows before we left as the rooms were warm and no air-con.
On return our rooms stank of smoke !!
Below in the courtyard there were some wood burning fire Pitts.
Apparently laid on for a wedding,
When we complained the following morning that we had an awful nights sleep all night due to the smell of smoke and simply asked why we were not made aware of the burning Pitts before then we could have at least kept our windows closed..
The receptionists tried to fob us of with
“ well its nothing to do with us
It’s the weeding party’s thing”
WELL HELLO ITS YOUR HOTEL. !!!!
No offer of an apologise
I asked if you were at home lighting a bonfire wouldn’t you let you People know ?
Absolutely discussed with the attitude.
Hotel itself ok.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Modern clean hotel with friendly staff, what more do you need ?
- Ann (8/5): - We had a lovely stay and all interactions with staff were excellent. The only downside was the buffet breakfast was luke warm and we had a 20 minute wait for coffee. Overall I would say 8/10 but I would definitely stay again.
P.S the conference/debate was very intensive and intrusive.
- AW (10/5): - Really nice renovations. Facilities in the room good, but could do with a full length mirror.
- John (10/5): Weekend away - Friendly & professional desk staff at check in, spotless hotel. Deluxe room had nice touches, small fridge, snacks very comfy bed. Great stay.
