Guest Reviews
- Romuald (10/5): -

- Kevyn (9/5): Home away from home in paradise. - This little home away from home was perfect. Good kitchen. Private beach. Near a small store. Quiet. Very nice proprietor. There are 3 bungalows on the property. Ours was the mid size. Great snorkeling just off the beach. The beach was a little dirty, the waves brought things onto the otherwise nice little beach.

- teresa (8/5): Good location, nice beach and comfortable bed and well supplied kitchen. - Snorkelling and gardens
Comfortable bed Could use a small table inside and outside.
Had to stick with specific time to enter which is not always so easy to arrange. Would be nice to have been let in the area earlier and we could have sat by the beach rather than driving around for 1.5 hours
Amei as esculturas! Achei o banheiro muito apertado.
- Trini_valen (7/5): Relaxing Stay at a Charming Property with Snorkeling and Kayak Opportunities - The location is excellent, with direct ocean access—the definite highlight of our stay. We loved being able to snorkel right from the shore and saw many colorful fish. Make sure to bring your own snorkeling equipment, it was so worth it! The free kayak was a great bonus, and we even spotted spinner dolphins and paddled out to see them up close, which was unforgettable. Having a big terrace and a kitchen was very convenient, especially since dining out on the island is quite expensive. We also enjoyed meeting other guests staying at the property; everyone was very friendly, which added to the experience. Overall, it’s a pleasant stay if you value easy access to the water, the ability to prepare your own meals, and a relaxed, social atmosphere. I had expected this to be a hotel, but it’s actually more of a property stay, which was a bit misleading. A pool would have been nice, and although spa services and breakfast were advertised, they were not available. Rooms were only cleaned every two days, and the property felt somewhat outdated, which affected cleanliness and comfort. The room layout was unusual, and the price and rating felt high for what was offered. The staff were polite at check-in, but they were strict when we tried to arrive slightly early, and extra coffee capsules were not automatically provided daily, we had to ask for them.
- laurent (7/5): - Bien équipé, bon emplacement pour les visites de l'île Proximité de la route, assez bruyant la journée il faut le savoir, les photos du site sont très avantageuses
- Steven (9/5): Loved this place, would rent again! - Beachfront bungalow on Mo’orea! Complimentary kayaks and snorkeling gear. Nice room and good kitchen. Gracious, friendly hosts. Our favorite lodging on the island. A/C didn’t work in one bedroom, and one of the sliding doors was fishy. But these were addressed by the host and didn’t significantly impact our experience.
- Ayelet (7/5): - It was in a great location with straight access to the beach. Sheets and bed were comfy. It wasn’t so clean. And the kitchen was detached from the villa and there was no floor.
In addition there was a utility room attached to the bathroom of the villa that had a terrible smell that seeped into the room
- Bostjan (10/5): -
- christopher (10/5): Magique avec les baleines à l’entrée de la passe - Bon emplacement
Baleine visible depuis la terrasse
- Iva (8/5): Very nice area , peaceful amazing view - Great Just lack of the forks
- Eila (9/5): Beautiful place to stay in Moorea - Idyllic location in a tropical garden with lagoon frontage. Comfortable Tahitian style accommodation with air conditioned bedrooms. Spacious well equipped kitchen. Covered sitting/dining outdoor area with magical view of lagoon. Amazing sunsets. Helpful staff - check with them re best snorkelling spots from the property.
Easy walking access to cafes/restaurants (Ke'iki, Mai Tai, La Grand' Voile, pizzeria) and supermarket (go early for fresh bread and pastries). The road is busy, especially during the day - quiet at night.
- Jill (9/5): -
- Rom (9/5): Aside from some miscommunication in the beginning along with non working a/c in living room and fairly hard beds (pe - Location, size of space, beautiful grounds Non working a/c in main living room and fairly hard beds
- Victoria (9/5): Gorgeous Moorea - Beautiful location and friendly welcoming staff. The kitchen was well equipped and the sunset views gorgeous. Nice garden setting. All lovely. The shower and sink are in the second bedroom which was fine for us but might not be for some. We stayed in Mahana suite.
- Kathleen (10/5): We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time at Poerani! - Beautiful Tahitian accommodation. Close to the ocean and able to snorkel and kayak right off property. There is a full kitchen so you can cook if you like. It’s not far from stores. The staff are very nice and helpful. The toilet room was a bit small.
- Mira (10/5): Exceptional -
- Renee (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caron (10/5): Exceptional - The location, the quiet laid back beauty, the sunsets, the beds, the porches, the kitchen, the grounds.. EVERYTHING
- Marthe (9/5): Great - Great location, walking distance to grocery, café and car rental. Very private, no other guests while we were there
- Mutsuko (10/5): Right on a lagoon, vacation of heaven! - The staff was so kind and helpful. The location was right on a beautiful lagoon perfect for snorkeling and kayaking, also convenient to go shopping for groceries. The full kitchen was great to cook most of our meals during 8 night stays.
- Ski (10/5): Excellent spot on one of French Polynesia's best islands. - Poerani Moorea is a small property with a house (villa) and 3 bungalows, on a narrow deep lot on the lagoon side of the road. We stayed in the Villa, literally steps from the water. House, including kitchen and bath, spacious and very nice, the outdoor dining, sunbathing, and water access even better.
The lagoon was terrific for snorkeling and kayaking. All we wanted for our short stay.
We only stayed a few days, so didn't rent a car which was fine with grocery store and (excellent) pizza restaurant within short walking distance. Next time we stay longer, rent a car, and explore Moorea more. The property came with kayaks, which was a key selling point for us, but nearing replacement time. Trouble with paddles, and the boats a little leaky. No danger of sinking, but got really heavy when it was time to haul them out of the water.
- Margot (6/5): Look elsewhere - Good location, water access Didn’t feel particularly welcome, no information about much of anything beyond where the snorkels and kayaks were. We felt the front house had the run of the land down by the water especially with many occupants in the house so it was tough to enjoy. No cushions on the porch furniture, so never sat out there. Weird layout of two bedroom cabin. Kitchen was old, the whole place is a bit tired. We didn’t enjoy being there.
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant and relaxing. - Location and beach access. AC in the bedroom. Privacy. The motion sensor flood lights constantly coming on during the night. Kept us awake even with the curtains totally closed.
Constant boat traffic and noise when sitting on the beach. 500 yards out is a boat channel which you have to cross get to the coral reef. Nothing missed though, not much coral or fish activity to see. Second bedroom is all bed with hardly any room on the sides.
- Patricia (8/5): Wonderful location - The lagoon in front of accommodation is amazing. very beautiful, and felt very safe for our first time kayaking on the ocean instead of a lake. The 3 kayaks on property were much appreciated, and well used by all staying. The outdoor shower was very cool, and fun to use. The yard was very nicely maintained. The accommodations were absolutely fine, not fancy, but comfortable, and had all we needed. Cabin was somewhat rustic, but very well suited for island life. It is gated and fenced, we felt very safe. We would stay again Kitchen is an outdoor kitchen, which was kind of cool, but we were grateful to not see mosquitoes.
- Michelle (10/5): Wonderful stay, great location, attentive host, ability to cook was a bonus. Recommend this place. Our unit was closes - Each unit (5 in total) has own private outdoor area with outdoor furniture. Staff very friendly & helpful. Gardens are gorgeous with outdoor shower for rinsing off after beach swim. Masks, snorkels, flippers provided for guest use. Private Beach great & saw lots of marine life when snorkelling. Water pressure not so good & hard to get consistent hot shower (but not really an issue as cooler shower is nice in this heat) wifi terrible at our unit.
- Mette (9/5): Lovely bungalow in traditional style. - Spacious bungalow with great location Nothing
- Hassell (4/5): Overpriced, poor hospitality and customer service - The property is in a good location and has good access to the water. However we had communication issues with the staff. I got a message at 4:45am, asking for payment. Otherwise they were going to cancel my reservation. Needless to say that they just take cash, (not mentioned anywhere on the listing). I had given my credit card and them had to get cash. It’s cash only, right ?! however guests that book through Booking are not worthy of the breakfast. We found great coffee, pastries at Caramel in. I do not recommend this place!! The room and bathroom smells like sewage every afternoon. There was a sliding door by the shower that didn’t give me any sense of privacy, specifically after seeing people on the other side. The kitchen was ok. The pillows had mildew and they put a cover over on one of them after I’ve requested a different pillow . It’s extremely overpriced!!
- James (10/5): Private oasis tucked away in paradise - The property was super cute. Tucked away in a little oasis in a perfect location. Lots of privacy from other properties and the main road. It’s beach front with direct water access. The hosts were incredible, we arrived after hours (8pm) and they were there to greet us. They had our unit all light up and ready for our arrival.
The location couldn’t be more perfect. It’s tucked away on the north side of the island with lots of restaurants, grocery stores, and other fun things to explore.
We’d recommend this accommodation to anyone and would definitely return if we come back to Moorea. (P.s we travelled bora bora, Tahiti, tikehau and moorea, Moorea was definitely our favourite island). Nothing is was perfect!!!
- Jacqueline (8/5): I had a wonderful stay at Poerani, but the beach isn’t as tidy as other accommodations in that price range. - I liked that it had self-catering and was close to a good supermarket. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and waters edge had good amount of sun-loungers. Staff very polite and caring. I do have one complaint and I believe that the small beach could be kept cleaner. Lots of seaweed washes in and out daily and if this was cleared up regularly it would improve the look for people. Also, there are two long pieces of plastic pipe in the water close to shore. These have sharp ends and should be cleared from the water. A little bit of TLC needed for the beach.
- Bonnie (10/5): We would go back in a heartbeat! - Everything! Great location, wonderful people, very quiet and perfect for a relaxing escape. Nothing!
- Charles (9/5): Superb - very friendly staff, very clean, great location near town. Market only 5 min walk. Thr grounds are really nice and there are kayaks to use in the lagoon. the small beach allows for nice sunsets and there is terrific snorkeling in the lagoon the hot water could be more consistent during showering, Even taking "navy showers" the water went cold about half way thru.
- William (10/5): very happy with our stay, property was clean and comfortable. Very quiet and relaxing. - location, private beach, well kept property, staff was extremely courteous and attentive. not much!!
- Shani (9/5): The perfect little beach stay at a fraction of the price! - A really sweet little beach stay. There is only 4 cabins (sleeping 2, 4, 4, 7 - we were in w two called junior suite with a garden view) so there are not many people around, we barely saw people at all. There is direct beach access and a beautiful view of the mountains behind. It’s close to lots of little snack bars, food trucks, a supermarket and a little village centre and to all main attractions too.
We indulged in our first two nights of Moorea and stayed at the Manava and I wish we’d just stayed here. It’s comfortable, clean and has a wonderful feel away from lots of people which being incredibly affordable. The other place is try to stay is in either of the bays but this was a close drive (hire a car - makes the island so much more accessible and fun).
We had no issues with mosquitos and it’s a very easy check in/check out process. You could cook yourself or eat cheaply at food trucks - your choice! Its was wonderful - nothing to add here. Value for money makes it impossible to complain!
- Lori (9/5): Superb - The property is beautiful and our house was perfect with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a lovely porch. We enjoyed the little beach and using the kayaks. We were able to park our rental car securely inside.
- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Annie (4/5): Disappointing - The grounds were beautiful and easy access to the sea. We were really disappointed and surprised that in no way that it could be considered a "junior suite "!
It only had air-conditioning in the bedroom that was entered through a glass sliding door, that made my builder, husband think that the bedroom and bathroom had been 2 separate rooms, which explains why there was guttering running around the kitchen and into the down pipe also in the kitchen.
The kitchen and the bathroom had no ceiling! Just the roof! It left the walls with about 6 inches gap to the roof!! for the mosquitoes and no no bugs to get in. The doors into the accommodation are louver doors, also allowing them into the kitchen and bathroom.
The resulting bites of the no no bugs are rather painful for days, so the numerous bites I got while staying there made the rest of our holidays uncomfortable for me.
The cutlery was limited, and there were no cereal bowls. Though there were things like coffee percolator, rice cooker and a microwave.
- John (5/5): Do not take the offered taxi ride.... if you stay here. They charged $100 ..it can be done for $23 - Walking distance to grocery store 1. $100 USD for taxi
2. one pot and one pan to cook with
3. air conditioning is freezing in bedroom and have to have fan in rest of cottage
4. "garden view" was the garage of the unit next door or the garage of the unit in front of us
5. Nonstop noise from the road
- Fred (9/5): Great independent and affordable setup with sand beach out to the channel. Well maintained. Clean. - This is a small private property (4 or 5 bedrooms) on the water with walkable sand lagoon out to the channel where one can snorkel further out. The property has a garden yard, easy to use gate to street, beautiful view of the water. You can hear the waves breaking on the outer reef in the distance There were two kayaks to share for paddling out to the waves. The outside kitchen was adequate, As two couples we made use of a sizable covered outside round table with plenty of chairs. Well lit at night. We were stayed in the off season and still found adequate places to eat out. In fact, our favorite was only a 100 ft from the gate and quite good. There is also a good food market less than 70 meters away. Everyone is quite friendly even though we did not speak English. One of the maintenance crew gave us a demonstration of how to open a coconut (falling from tree on the property) to have the coconut water. He was quite skillful. No one on YouTube does it as quickly or expertly as he could do with his machete. Great beds. All staff was friendly and helpful to the max. The AC in one bedroom did not work for two nights but was fixed in a reasonable amount of time given that it failed on a Sunday. They also brought a fan to help which WAS quite helpful.
- Joel (7/5): Good - The location was perfect, right on the beach and convenient to grocery store, restaurants and cool sights on Moorea, and the rental unit had everything we needed. Arrival was a pain. After booking, I received instructions to arrive only between 3pm and 5pm. There are several daily ferries but only one that meets that schedule, which booked only to learn that it was cancelled the day we were arriving. I informed the property that we'd arrive at 6:30 and they replied it was no problem. But as I was driving onto the ferry at 5pm, I got a call from the onsite staff who were impatient to go home and wondering where I was. I explained and pleaded with them to wait for us, which they kindly did in the end, but it was stressful for all of us and the staff clearly had not gotten the message from management that they'd agreed we would arrive later.
- Gulnor (9/5): Great base to explore Moorea - We stayed in one of the apartments with (not at doorstep) beach view for 5 nights. We were very pleased with the manager as she arranged transfer for us from the port. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean with a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and a toilet room and a shower/sink room (in the second bedroom). Towels, shampoo/conditioner and hand soap were provided. The kitchen was clean and very well kept. A/C was very effective in both rooms. The outside view is gorgeous with tables and a lounge area. Very close to the beach so a great location for snorkelling and kayaking (free to use). There's plenty of parking. Bed linens and towels are changed every 3 days. Geckos do a great job at eating mosquitos but a net is also provided for both beds. The taxi ride from the port is not included in the price (the owner does warn you with multiple messages ahead of your arrival). The "hotel" is not really an hotel, it's guesthouses, so no food is served or available on the property, it should be clearer in the listing; so pack up some food if you're planning to arrive there late (there is a supermarket 4 min walk away, but as with everywhere in Polynesia it shuts early). The facility entrance is on the main island ring road and has no sidewalk nor pedestrian door, you will have to open the (automated) gate to enter. It's very dark at night on that road so be aware of incoming traffic and stray dogs. The bathroom is integrated in the second bedroom, ie better use the main bedroom to sleep as it can get damp after a shower and attracts mosquitoes. The kitchen is a bit old but functional and you have to wash and dry anything you use. Recycling is not clearly marked so we were not sure which bin to use.
- Hm (10/5): Safe, relaxing, lovely locals, tranquil and if you want to experience the local lifestyle this is for you. - We liked the private beach and the outdoor areas. Gardens were lovely. The outdoor kitchen was well equipped and beautiful view. Late checkout arranged was appreciated. I didn’t realise it was completely self catering so that was my mistake. But the supermarket is really close 😊
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional - The location on the lagoon was great. It was nice to have the little kitchen, outdoor dining room and porch. No one showed up to check us out so we had to leave the keys and go so that we wouldn't miss our ferry.
- Anonymous (10/5): It was perfect! Thank you! - The kayaks were sooooo wonderful! We could paddle out to watch the sunrises and sunsets!
- Christopher (10/5): Loved the spot. Would love to return and stay longer. - Beautiful location. Wonderful inviting and warm friendly staff. The space we stayed was comfortable and very enjoyable.
- Alexander (8/5): Very good - The bungalow was a little bad old fashioned but nice. The garden was nice. Beach was very small . Hosts very helpful and friendly Many mosquitos
- Ant1973 (7/5): Good location, shame about the bed. - Friendly hosts, good location. Free use of kayaks and snorkelling gear... We took them snorkelling to the far side of the reef. The area in front of the hotel is ok for swimming, quite shallow but mostly sandy until about 30m out where you have possibility to snorkel. Beautiful gardens. Beautiful decorations in the room. Well equipped suite. The main problem for us was the very uncomfortable bed. It was very soft and bouncy, and we had a backache after 3 days. The Internet was not working well.
Overall, the positives outweigh the negative, was just a shame with the bed and if they resolved this it would be fantastic. Also it is on the busy main road, so it can be noisy. I don't mind traffic noise, but if you expect silence at night and early in the morning, you won't get it here.
- Brendan (10/5): Amazing, and we can't wait to go back. - Hosts were absolutely amazing. Location. Amenities. Super safe and beautiful. Shower water temp was very inconsistent, but it really didn't bother us that much. The hosts and accommodations are perfect.
- Mark (10/5): Paradise…Amazing property, wonderful management, roomy, clean, looking forward to return…highly recommended!!! - Amazing house with great ambiance, facilities and lovely beach and kayaks, swim toys, etc. parking on site. Nothing
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (10/5): awesome stay in a lovely polynesian style bungalow - very private, quiet property, there’s only 3 units so you are not overwhelmed with strangers all the time. the grounds and bungalows was very well maintained. we have access to the water just a few steps from the bungalow, kayaks and water shoes available foc. the location is just opposite some resurarants and a supermarket, very convenient especially if you like to experience local living and food i had some issues locking the main door from the inside but its not s major thing. just needs a bit of repair thats all
- Jenny (10/5): Perfect for the independent traveller - Close to a variety of restaurants, supermarkets etc with its own access to the lagoon.
- Anna (7/5): Good location and nice host - Good location close to the airport, to the supermarket. Very pretty garden. Nice and helpful host :) There were some insects biting us in beds at night :/

- Pete (7/5): Good -
- Jean (8/5): Very good - Location When wr first checked in, the young girl.was not that friendly or helpful.
- Laura (10/5): We loved our stay at Poerani and highly recommend!! - Great location
Comfortable and cosy
Beautiful garden
- Patrik (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely home on Moorea, you feel very private at a great spot for the sundowner. The outdoor kitchen is magic, drinking your coffee watching out to the sea, amazing. Don’t forget your mosquito repellent, we had many many bites unfortunately. Near by you can rent a scooter for trips around the island and you have a great supermarket nearby. The main bed could also have a mosquito net, but was all great, thank you so much!
- Arjan (9/5): Superb - Great base for exploring the island Access to water: better if shared between the units instead of 'allocated' per unit
- Mark (7/5): Good - Perfect sheltered location relaxed vibe.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (10/5): Relaxing in a beautiful location. - Super comfortable and well appointed. It was perfect for our family of four. Snorkeling a few steps out the door and epic sunsets just sitting on our deck.
- Kathleen (9/5): Just what we needed a clean, welcoming safe place to rest our heads with AC and conveniently located - Staff was very nice, helpful and extremely responsive to our needs and requests. The lagoon was just steps from our front door where we had the best sunset of our trip! More bottled water could have been provided for the first night and for coffee the following morning before we were able to go shopping.
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good -

- Siyang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - The location is great. On the water with good snorkelling straight off the beach and free use of kayaks. It was a little home away from home.
- Antonio (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marc (4/5): Very disappointed in unit especially considering the price! - Nice people who were agents for the place and they eventually (with 2 days left) put us into a better unit with fewer issues, but some problems in that unit also. Small unit; shower water very hot or cold; A/C only in master bedroom; substantial issues with Internet; road noise was unpleasant; hard to shut and lock door sliding door; back door with very cheap lock; am I forgetting anything?
- Justin (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (10/5): amazing family holiday - The property is located in a beautiful area! it is near resorts with overwater bungalows but surrounded by other homes. our family of four loved the Mahana bungalow. we were steps from the beach but with a spacious house to relax in when needed. the kitchen was enough to prepare small meals to enjoy on the patio. I loved that the grocery store was a five minute walk and there were a few delicious restaurants and food truck 10 minutes walk. The hosts are so accommodating and willing to help in any way. I definitely will love to return for more family vacations here!
- Brian (6/5): We had a nice stay. You definitely need a car if staying here. - Having the use of kayaks, and a pineapple to float on although we didn’t actually use this, plenty of hot water to shower, an outside shower for use after being in the sea. Towels provided for use by the lagoon. There was a supermarket just 3 min walk and a pizza place which opens most days. Otherwise you have to walk at least 10 mins in the pitch black as none of the street light work. The linen for the bed could be better. No USB sockets, no electric kettle, no welcome pack ie milk etc, and it was difficult to lock up as you had to close the shutter doors to kitchen area as the sliding door to the bedroom didn’t lock! As You have exit via bedroom sliding doors which locked.
If there were 4 people staying shower arrangements would be difficult as the shower and basin are in the 2nd bedroom no separate door open shower bedroom. They have a few snorkels and flippers for use, needs checking as some of the snorkels leaked, no small sizes in the flippers. We actually went and purchased our own.
- Edith (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. Fantastic location.
- Kevin (9/5): Exceeded expectations, highly recommend! - Quiet, private property right on the ocean. There were 5 separate bungalows, covered parking, security access, beautifully maintained gardens, lawn chairs, kayaks, snorkeling gear provided.
We booked the 'suite with sea view' for two couples traveling together. Two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, comfy beds, AC in both bedrooms, private outdoor kitchen, killer view of the ocean which was about 15ft from our doorway! This suite is better than the Booking.com photos. Highly recommend!
We spent hours outside enjoying the view from our private seating area or the dining table on our spacious covered deck. Every morning or afternoon (sometimes both!) we'd snorkel out to the coral reef right in front of our property. Evenings we'd marvel at the stars from the lawn chairs while sipping Mai Tai's. Paradise! No complaints, would definitely stay here again!
- Marilyn (9/5): The people were kind, friendly and very efficient. They met our needs cheerfully. - the location, privacy and peacefulness. could have a couple more comfortable chairs on the deck
- Princezkellyd (8/5): Cute private bungalow in good location. - It was a cute little private bungalow on beautiful grounds. There's a market walking distance from the property and a great little snack shack close by as well. The mattress was a little uncomfortable, but the air conditioning in the bedroom was really nice.
- Carolynam (9/5): Had a great time enjoying the deck and the great water, Got lucky as the villa was not rented. - Location and access to water was superb. Grocery store easy walking distance as well as restaurants Since we were there for a week we should have had a clean half way, New towels etc and a clean. The kitchen could use a update of supplies.
- Carola (5/5): Great location - good privacy but medium level and overpriced - it’s the location - right at the water - beautiful based on booking.com I booked one room with sea view for a lot of money - so I expected it to be quite luxurious- turns out is a big villa - with the living room closed but 2 bed rooms- which I did not needed - level is not luxurious- average- cleaning is one’s a week - not enough! so from my perspective it’s overpriced unless you are a family and get the whole villa for what I paid . it’s not clear on booking .com - in addition the last 2 days a lot of maintenance work was going on - noise and lost privacy.
- John (8/5): Great Family short stay home on one of the most beautiful islands in the region. - We booked two of the 4 villas for our family of 5. Both had garden setting with easy access to the water and little beach Infront of the property. We love being able to cook for ourselves whilst away and both had nice kitchens with adequate tools and utensils but unfortunately no oven only microwave. AC was great and we used it most nights to sleep to escape the humidity of the wet season. Plenty of room and we rested well on every night of our stay. Vana and Suzanne were really lovely along with Pervange (sorry if spelling is incorrect) was very sweet and attentive. We had a lovely stay at Poerani and would happily return to Moorea and Poerani again. Its hard to say what we didn't like because this was exactly what our family needed. Very family friendly safe without the razzamatazz of a hotel or resort. We settled in and felt straight at home. They could have some sort of oven, sharp knives, better quality cutlery, a little more room around some of the beds, but hey we loved our stay.
- Xue (9/5): Superb - bathroom
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional - Private beach with excellent swimming. Car is necessary, not much to eat within walking distance
- Brenda (8/5): Poerani Moorea was a lovely place to stay... you can't beat the location and friendly staff! - The location is fantastic... right on a beautiful lagoon, with beach chairs, kayaks and snorkeling equipment available to use. There's a nice, covered patio area, including a big dining table, that overlooked the water, which came in handy when it rained. The shower in the main room was great... can't comment on the one in the second bedroom. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Easy drive to the Moorea airport and ferry terminal. We upgraded and added a second room for a friend who decided to join our visit to Tahiti/Moorea. The second room had some minor issues, which were all quickly addressed by the responsive staff (Vanaa and Suzanne). In the rainy season, the grass is saturated and gets muddy, so plan accordingly. Additional steppingstones between the carport and the bungalows might help with that.
- Timo (5/5): Passable -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brad (10/5): Exceptional - The location was great for getting out and seeing the island, yet access to the lagoon was great for when you were on the property. Nothing
