• Gary Duffus (8/5): The very very KALM HOTEL. - I stayed here for 2 nights then came back later that week for an extra day. The staff were really pleasant and friendly. Clean rooms and an excellent area at the front of the hotel, open planned to eat breakfast or relax and the view to the beach and the sea opposite. The only fault was the bathroom, im tall,the shower head very low and the water would run onto the bathroom floor, you couldn't avoid it,no matter how much you tried to be careful. But it was still a great place to stay. The bathroom, the shower area, water would run onto the bathroom floor. Couldn't be avoided at all, maybe it was designed to be like that.

• khun_Joern (7/5): Close to the Beach Road - Location: Right on Bangsaen Beach road, with easy access to the beach walk area, markets and restaurants. Rooms: Clean rooms, soft, comfortable beds and effective air conditioning. Balcony rooms offer excellent sea views. Bathroom: shower water splashes out. Towel racks pulled out of the wall. Breakfast: a bit too simple for a hotel of this class, instant coffee of low quality. Parking: Limited and tiny.

• Steve (7/5): Kalm hotel bangsaen - Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice lap swimming pool even though I did not use it. The included breakfast was ok. The location was. Very convenient to the beach walk area. The bathroom could have been better. Both towel racks were pulled out of the wall and needed to have new attachments to make them usable. This was not done during my stay. Also the shower made a complete water mess all over the floor when you used it. It was a shower tub combination, but the shower water was not contained very well.

The pool was great, the outlook great and the staff were so friendly - just superb 🙏🏼 Breakfast wasn’t great, a little too simple and really low quality. Instant coffee only- could get a cheap capsule coffee maker for not much money.

Had one night in a Oceanside room and found it too loud with street noise and people playing music on beach across the street very loudly at 2am. Did complain to staff and they handled it promptly, police asked the beach people to turn down music.

You can hear all the music played from the restaurant nearby or when car passes by. We could not sleep all night. The bathroom, shower glass and drain need serious renovation. You cannot take shower in the bathtub as water will flow outside onto the bathroom floor. Extremely dangerous.

• Anna-lena (7/5): Good - The rooms themselves were nice and clean. The bathroom was modern, however the blinds in the shower were already carrying a little mold. Room service came everyday and made up the room, including cleaning and changing bedding/towels. Breakfast could have been a little better, but the staff were really friendly. The hotel is right at the beach, which means it is really loud. The windows don't shut properly, so there is no way of cancelling the noise. Parties went on outside till 4 am and then at 6 am the building site right next door was taking over the noise.

Housekeepers are very thorough with their lost and found check There were teenagers on the opposite side of the street. They played very loud music, the security guard refusing to handle the situation. He should at least call the police. I couldn’t sleep at all.

The room came with its own balcony, which is nice Location - too noisy at night as it is better suited for a night life with music and drink. The loud music did not stop until midnight.

• Joel (10/5): Always a great place to stay in Bang Saen! - The property is located directly across from the beach. Excellent view from the balcony room! Their beds are very comfortable. Great A/C. The food for room service was very delicious and affordable. I would highly recommend this hotel. If you don’t get a balcony room, then there is no view. The rooms are still very spacious and clean though.

• David (2/5): Never again will I visit Kalm Bangsaen. - Farang beware. Read the reviews by any other farang. Locals may have glowing reviews, but the building is not functional. The property is not well maintained. The design “looks good,” but it is not functional. The pool is closer akin to a reflecting pond. There is no water movement and there are plenty of pigeons bathing and drinking and doing pigeon things in the pool. The bathroom is my biggest complaint. While the bathtub looks good in pictures, the attached shower sprays water everywhere in the bathroom, regardless of how much you may try to keep it contained within the bathtub. The floor in our bathroom sloped AWAY from the drain, meaning every day, there were 2-3 inches of water standing in the bathroom. It is a fall risk at the minimum. The bathtub is extremely high off the bathroom floor, and mixed with the fact that there is nothing to grab onto, and the fact that you are stepping down onto a slick, water-logged concrete floor is terrifying, and I’m not even old. Not only that, but you must remove your clothes before entering the bathroom to use the toilet, or everything will be soaking wet. Then, there is the fact that the enormous window in the shower faces directly toward the neighboring houses and businesses. The humidity in the room was overwhelming. The paint was peeling off of the ceiling and walls in several places. Considering the fact that the Conrad Bangkok is not much more for a room… for a 5 star hotel… I can definitely say I will not be staying at Kalm Bangsaen again. Foreign investors: look into building a better designed and maintained hotel in Bangsaen on the beach.

Now the disappointments The hotel itself is not finished, everywhere you look, the reception area..primed floors but no tiles also up the stair, the swimming pool is tini and not finished no tiles on the top and one even broken you could easy cut yourself.. My room.. the bath wasnt fixed in properly and no tiles around it so when you shower it all spilled over to the floor... no tiles on wall just one coat of paint.. the few rooms that lead to the pool were empty.. we asked to be moved to them and they wanted another £100 for 3 days ?? given our room was so bad I think they should have moved us..the breakfast is so basic and really only for the chinese. I feel sorry for the staff as they do all they can but this hotel looks as if they ran out of money to finish it . the resort itself is lovely...

Fåglar och fågelskit i poolen som gjorde att jag avstod från att bada under vistelsen. • Alan (6/5): Nice location but............ - Well, mixed feelings about writing this review. I was looking forward to staying near the beach with a nice sea breeze and a great view. I must say that I achieved all of the above. The Hotel is situated in a prime position which was one of the reasons I chose it. Check in went very smoothly although there was no bell boy to help with luggage. As I said great view when I got in the room. The negatives are 90% of the staff cannot speak English and Reception staff can speak a little. Breakfast is a set menu and the same everyday. I decided to go down for lunch one day only to find they didn’t serve lunch. I asked for a glass of ice and they didn’t have any ice. I know they are petty things but the biggest no no came as I checked out. I was drinking coffee in my bed that morning and I spilt a very small quantity on the bed sheet. I was told I would have to pay 600 Thai Baht, about £15 to have the sheet cleaned. I am very well travelled and have stayed in hundreds of Hotels, but I have never been asked to pay for a stain on a bedsheet. They actually have list of other payment charges. I kicked up such a fuss that it was waived. Overall, a nice location but the Staff need to look more enthusiastic and be more attentive instead of playing with their phones.
