Sithy (9/5): Amazing place to stay - Location and swimming pool None
Sanne (2/5): Unfortunately, not a good experience due to missing facilities and unwelcoming staff - I normally don’t tend to leave negative reviews, but I received a pop-up from Booking asking for feedback and, unfortunately, I really wasn’t satisfied with our stay. There was absolutely no warm or friendly welcome. When we arrived, we tried calling and even rattled the gate, but no one responded. Eventually, following the advice of the neighbors, we opened the gate ourselves and just drove in. The room and furniture could definitely use some refurbishment. On top of that, the overall cleanliness was not great. There was no refrigerator in the room, no power outlet in the bedroom, and the shower only half worked. In addition, we were woken up at 4:30 a.m. by the rooster on the property, which in my opinion is kept in a cage that is far too small. Unfortunately, after being woken up we couldn’t get back to sleep because the rooster kept crowing nonstop until sunrise. For these reasons, I unfortunately cannot recommend this place to others.

Bonfils (10/5): - nous avons beaucoup apprécié cette grande maison au calme au fond d'une impasse, entouré d'arbres ou il y avait des petits singes....c'était propre et confortable....la piscine est un plus très agréable...l'accueil très sympa.... je recommande. peux être un peu loin des plages, il faut prendre un Tuc tuc, mais nous qui aimons marcher sommes allés au Fort et en ville à pied....

La piscine était d'une bonne grandeur. Le déjeuner était copieux et délicieux. Un peu loin du centre, mais tout serait près avec un vélo ou un scooter.

Amalinde SLU - NIF B55309553 (7/5): Netjes verblijf met fijn personeel - Kamer waar wij verbleven was groot en netjes bij aankomst. Airco en ventilatie werkt goed. Ontbijt werd goed verzorgd en personeel werkte hard. Lekker mijn was gedaan en dat werkte goed. Omgeving van Galle is erg leuk. We zijn naar Fort geweest en dichtstbijzijnde stranden. Onze kamer had een hele dunne plank tussen de andere kamer. Daardoor hoorde je alles van de buren (kuchen en douchen). Tijdens ons verblijf wat groepen jongens waardoor het voelde alsof we in een familie huis waren, ondanks dat de jongens heel netjes waren! Kleine dingen als geen nieuwe handdoeken per dag, douche boven de wc maar dan geen dweil erbij dus alles kledder nat. Zwembad is stuk kleiner dan op foto’s.

Clean and comfy beds and rooms, some common areas to sit and relax. The pool pump was broken so the pool water was a tad green. They were fixing the pump whilst I was there so hopefully will be all good soon.

Perera (1/5): Worst Place in Galle. - There is noting good to say about this place. The worst worst worst place in Galle. The property provided the worst experience we’ve ever had. The staff were extremely unfriendly, and the manager, a woman, refused to engage with us directly to address our concerns. Before confirming the booking, they assured us that all facilities were in good condition. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the pool was closed for an unknown reason, and they didn’t offer any compensation for this. Additionally, the booking platform stated that kitchenware and other amenities were included in the package and could be used free of charge. Yet, when we tried to cook for ourselves, we were told it wasn’t allowed unless we paid an additional charge of 2,500 LKR. Our group of seven people was extremely disappointed, and this has been, by far, the worst experience we’ve had at any property. We strongly advise others against staying here.

Graeme (6/5): Nice room, crap customer service - Good location, the toasted bread at breakfast was lovely. Plumbing leaked and one of our toilets didn't flush properly, luckily we were upgraded by Booking.com to a family room so had the choice of two bathrooms. Same miserable breakfast offering you get all over Sri Lanka. Noise from building work Staff were miserable, didn't smile when greeting us or even acknowledge my wife only greeting me which was probably a religious thing but unacceptable in the tourist industry.
4-luv-of-travel (6/5): Spacious but needs some repairs - The rooms were mostly clean. The air-conditioning worked and was cold. Fans worked. Liked that there were joint family rooms that were very spacious and had clothes airers. The wi-fi was good. Included breakfast was decent and appreciated. The manager looked after everything and was very hospitable trying to make our stay as comfortable as possible. There were a lot of mosquitoes and flies on the ground floor that made hanging out outside very difficult. It would help fumigating the area. Door knobs wouldn't close properly and bathroom door knob was broken. Towels could definitely use a major update - towels had to be asked for several times and we were given thready pool towels instead. Family room required sharing the key cos there was no spare key for a room with 4. Bathroom hot water needed instructions or fixing up as using it was not straight forward at all. The pool was not safe with broken tiles that could cut your feet that seriously needs to be looked at and repaired. It's a safety hazard.
Manuel (8/5): Good place to stay. - Clean, nice staff, swimming pool, air conditioned, upgrade to spacious room , quiet neighbourhood. The woodden structure that holds the matress makes noise every time you move.

Took care of our luggage while we were there and asked how we are doing. Shower pressure could be better and given new towels daily or offered daily. Little things. And would be good to offer water!

Karen (10/5): beautiful property! - The breakfast was lovely. I was there for 3 nights and the middle morning they did a Sri Lankan breakfast that was fantastic. The staff were wonderful and the property is beautiful. The location is a little far away from town but I like walking so I was fine.
Dulasiri (9/5): Nice and convenient place to stay - We enjoyed the stay in Sholay Villa. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The homemade breakfast was delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is central to many attractions in Galle. The bathroom rooms can be modernized and refurbished.

Sophie (10/5): Great value for money! Lovely Hosts :) - Really great value for money! We had a the ground floor apartment, which had two bedrooms, a living space, kitchen and a bathroom. AC and even a very good washing machine which was very helpful!! The pool was lovely and the breakfast also very nice, both Sumit and Zeena, our hosts were very friendly and accommodating, always on hand if we needed any help and just made us feel very looked after and relaxed. Thank you to you both :) Location is great, directly in Galle, and only a 9 minuite drive to old town, where we were it was in the heart of Galle but just tucked nicely out of the way of the hustle and bustle. Really great if you are looking for a home space rather than an apartment with some privacy. Thanks guys :)

Shan (9/5): Superb - Room was large and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. Location is also good for getting to all the tourist spots. Would definitely stay here next time.
Sarah (7/5): Good value for money. - Swimming pool lovely & clean. Breakfast nice with omelette, toast, fresh fruit & juice. Most mornings building works started at 8.15am, very loud. No fridge in room Wi-Fi only worked in communal lounge, however while there owners did put in a booster, but still very slow.

De (8/5): Very good - We arrived at 11 pm, but the staff was very friendly and made the necessary arrangements for us. The location was very close to Galle Fort. I prefer more parking facilities. Overall good place. There is no shampoo or body wash in the bathroom. Even the hand wash is not included.
Sergei (10/5): Exceptional - The best hotel we ever had. We swam in a warm swimming pool at night during the tropic rain, and it was cool👍 Delicious breakfast was served at the morning. Love this place.
Erik (9/5): Unbeatable value for money - Okay it has some limitations, but unbeatably good for the price. It's not easy to find but any tuk driver should be able, and I managed to walk it with some luggage from the bus stand in 30 mins, asking directions only once, with proper Google Maps instructions. (Tuk prices were far too high compared to metered tuk fixed price). Walked for dinner to the harbour area in 15 mins, and even though the streets were well lit took me some time to find the place back afterwards ;-) As Booking.com gave a free upgrade to apartment including breakfast, I'll base the review on a normal room for USD 20 excluding breakfast. And even that is excellent value for money seeing location, small but clean pool, fast WiFi, AC and spacious rooms. Friendly service and nice continental breakfast added to this makes Sholay a great option for visiting Galle! Bathroom sink is cold water, and shower lukewarm at best. Very acceptable for the climate and the price. Cleanliness of the bathroom (some small ants) could be better,
Andrzej (10/5): Nice for staying with small kids and family. - Very nice and clean swimming pool with option for babies. Nice villa in general with kitchen for individual use. Location is very far away from the restaurants so this can be an issue if you do not have car or scooter.
Lully (10/5): Beautiful place - The apartment is massive and really quiet . Nice swimming pool, delicious breakfast , nice swimming pool , really clean and friendly professional staff !! Really lovely It was a bit hidden and was pretty hard to find it at first . We were following the address in google maps but was sending us somewhere else . Once you find it it’s really easy and pretty close to the center
