- Susan (2/5): Needed latitude/longitude coordinates for room - The map of the hotel campus given out at the reception desk is useless. We spent 20 minutes searching out our room, only to eventually discover that it was not what I had requested and paid for through hotels com. I don't know how guests find their rooms after dark. We were moved to a room that looked nothing like the glorious photos shown online. But the hotel receptionist was helpful in moving us to a proper room.

- Allison (6/5): You may not be staying in the main inn! - Did not like this hotel- first of all, please note that you may NOT be staying in the main house. We checked in and were given a map showing us that we had to drive three blocks away to a house that looked like a condo building built in the 70's. The charm was to be able to stay in the "oldest inn in America"but the only time we spent any real time in the inn was during check in. The rooms were old and extremely dated- burgundy walls mixed with yellow walls in the bathroom. The only good thing about this hotel was the location. I would not stay there again
- Maureen (2/5): Beekman Arms Fiasco!! - We arrived to be sent on a wild Goose Chase! We got to a Room a few Blocks from the Main Hotel. It was a Three Unit Bldg. the Keys we were Given did not Fit the Lock. Also there was a Dog in the Unit Below that was Continually Barking. The Whole Place looked Terribly Run Down! We then had to walk back to the Main Hotel and explain that the Keys didn’t Fit. The Young Woman was very Rude and Unhelpful. A Man came in to Relieve Her and after some complaining we got a Room in the Hotel. It was two Single Beds. It had a Gerryrigged A/C very Noisy. The Television Cabinet Doors would not Stay open. The Bathroom had noExhaust Working. Lighting was Poor, and No Mat in the Tub as it was Extremely Slippery. Taps for water in the Tub were very Hard to make the Water Safe and not too Hot. The Shower Head was Ancient and Dispersed the Water poorly. Continental Breakfast was not Available in the Hotel but a few Blocks away. It was a Very Expensive unhappy Time for Us. What we got for Our Money was Abysmal. We are both in Our 70’s and this is not How anyone Should be Treated
- Vanessa (10/5): - We loved the history of the hotel as well as the charm. It is very convenient to all the shops and restaurants. Our room was large and comfortable. It even had a fireplace to make it cozier. It could use a little updating, but overall, a wonderful stay.

- Mary (6/5): - DO NOT book these rooms through Expedia!!! The property has a lot of extra rooms spread out over a couple of blocks. Expedia doesn’t tell you this and they’ll stick you anywhere when you’re expecting a historic inn! We arrived at 10 pm and found out we were in basically a little apartment over the breakfast area which is 1.5 or 2 blocks from the actual inn. It wasn’t a bad room, it just wasn’t “the oldest Inn in America, where George Washington slept”. We were so upset, but too tired to move rooms. The Inn staff offered to. They gave us a discount instead. This was after Expedia called and emailed multiple times in the preceding 2 weeks to tell me the “inn would be closed” and we had to reschedule. I had spoken to the inn directly and confirmed that it was an Expedia glitch! The Inn itself looks incredible, and the staff was great, but Expedia blew it twice on this one. Book direct!
- Wardi (6/5): - The rooms were located down the street which was not clear when we book the hotel. This hotel is the oldest in America and it shows. If you like dark, old and it shows. The rooms in the buildings down the street are old and need renovation. The mattresses coils creek when we moved on the bed. The room is very outdated. Breakfast was hard boiled eggs and bagels/toast/muffins with coffee or tea and maybe juice. Don't expect much when staying here.

- Roger (10/5): - This is the oldest continuously operating inn in the U.S. The floors are somewhat slanted and have beautiful boards, often original. The Arms is in the middle of the village.

Keurig coffee pods only had 1 caffeinated pod of coffee with two guests would have appreciated two. Heavy drapery with an unexpected design, hung well & kept the light & noise minimal. Pleasant space!
- Karen (10/5): - Location terrific. Rooms spacious. Very clean and loved the Betkmas 1892 toiletries. Conditioner bottle hole to small so hard to get out. Grounds lovely. Breakfast just perfect. Hard boiled eggs a little rubbery.

- David and Susan (6/5): - The room was lovely, at first glance. Unfortunately, when we got there the windows were opened and the air conditioning was off. It was 90 degrees outside and very humid. It had to be at least 90 degrees, and possibly more, in our room. It took 2+ hours with the air conditioning blasting to get the room comfortable. I think it would have been more efficient and ecologically sound to keep the air on set at 75 on the day they knew the room would be used. There was a burned out light, the carpet had folds in it, and the one window was broken, making it impossible to close completely. This hotel has potential but really needs a once over to make it great. We had dinner at the restaurant which was quite nice. The breakfast area was right outside our room which was convenient. The assortment was fine but I’m not a big breakfast person. Overall, I’d say we were a bit disappointed with the hotel, in general. It needs someone to pay attention to the details.
- Yoav (6/5): - The room was great. Two main issues: 1. It took forever to find our rooms. The map does not match the real layout, not clear signs and we are lucky to do this in a nice weather and not at night or rainy day, 2. Breakfast was basic

- Christopher (8/5): - The building was constructed in the 1800’s and it was evident by the squeaky floor. The room was very large, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was adequate, good water pressure however the toilet was a child size, Very small and low. There was a ceiling fan but NO AC that could be adjusted for room temperature, and it was uncomfortably warm overnight. The breakfast was in a separate building a short walk from the house we stayed in, and was a typical continental breakfast with pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit and hard boiled eggs. Coffee and juice were also available. Check in and out was in another building but easy enough.

- Deane (4/5): Beekman needs maintenance - So at check-in was surprised that we weren’t in the main white building that you see in EVERY listing and confirmation. I asked at check in saying it was portrayed as reserved in main building. She sort of told me that when you book with third party, such as Hotels.com, this always happens. Well then if you k ow it’s a problem for yours guests correct the situation! Why we got an ADA room is a mystery. We were in one of the MANY out buildings. As a ADA room they should be ashamed. Biggest issue was the shower head was broken and sidnt give you a stream of water unless you held it closed with one hand. Hair dryer..broken. TV too small to see from bed. Ugh a HUGE disappointment!! Property fully booked out so since only there 2 nights just stayed in the room. Bathroom issues not noticed till checkout morning.

Also no help from the staff, poor communication not trained in customer service. Dining …we felt unwelcome since we walked in, 2 employees by the bar, did not acknowledge us so we sat at an empty 2 person table and Rudy asked us who allowed us to set . The women bar renter had a lot to say about he friend issues, x boy friend and other personal concerns that we did not care about hearing particularly since we where at a distance from the bar. Noice room that fit the era but very disappointed overall.

- John (8/5): - Beware! When booking this hotel on Expedia it is not clear what property you will be staying at. The Beekman Arms main in is the country's oldest hotel,cand we thought we were booked there. Never having been, we were unaware of the different properties. Our room ended up being in Germond house, a somewhat characterless property a block and a half away, a disappointing surprise. If you want to book at the Beekman Arms itself, go to their website directly. Rhinebeck is fabulous, the Tavern at theBeekman arms was very good, and the inn takes good care of you, but just be aware which property you are booking!

- Gail (8/5): Being a Part of History - It was a wonderful experience to stay in the oldest inn in America. The room was cozy with a 4-poster bed. The staff was cordial and helpful. My only regret is that we were unable to have lunch in the Taproom. It was too crowded, and we didn't have advance reservations. Otherwise, our weekend getaway to Rhinebeck was fun.

If we stayed again, we would request another area as there were several different buildings to the inn. Overall we had a very nice time.

- John (10/5): Keep the 20th century at bay. No TVs or radio's. - Exactly as represented. And your can feel safe. There are about 25 muskets on hand and ready to muster, just in case the Red Coats attack.
- John McDonough (10/5): - A sliver of another age. You can feel safe, though. There are ample muskets about to take up and defend against any approaching Red Coats. One small point: the continental breakfast should be served on sight rather than two blocks away. There seem to be ample spaces for it.

Ryan at the front desk was a fast friend and a serious highlight of our trip to New York. Hoping to be back next October. You guys were great!!

Also the remote only works when you stand in front of set. Strong smell of cleaning products upon arrival w no way to open the window to air it out. For the price- these issues are a bit annoying.

We stayed in a pet-friendly room in the guest house behind the hotel, which was an older, motel-like building, but the room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with a refrigerator and a very comfortable king-size bed. - William (2/5): - We booked the Townsend King which was nice but after we discovered the filthy toilet splattered with feces and requesting that someone clean it, we were given the option of staying in another room because they had no one available to clean the toilet. We were given the keys to a "chicken coop" looking building in the rear. The room smelled like mildew, so we told the front desk to find another room for us. We reluctantly settled for a room in the main inn above the front desk. This room was outdated and had tripping hazards all over the place. The bed was so high off the floor my wife had to use a step stool in the room just to get in & out of bed. The ceilings were low and looked like they were going to collapse. You could hear people talking well into the night at the front desk. The room was nothing like the room that we had requested & would have been happy to stay in, if the toilet was not feces spattered. When we asked for a refund we were told that we would have to speak to the manager Johnathan, who would be in the following morning at 7am. We checked out at 7:30 and were told that Johnathan was unavailable but we could wait for him. I told the front desk that we had to leave & expected a full refund. Never received any refund or adjustment. When we got home from our trip, I requested a refund through the Expedia messaging. No response to this and another request. The town is great, but this outdated, over priced , poorly run inn is one to avoid.

The offsite continental breakfast was convenient but could have offered some variety daily. The room was very comfortable, but the bed was extremely high off the ground and could be dangerous. The bathroom area was too small. It would have been nice to have a separate sink area. The location of the hotel is perfect, but I am not sure I would stay again. Expected better for the nightly rate.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was an absolutely wonderful stay, we were in the old original part of the hotel and had such a nice time, looking at all of the historical aspects of the inn. The only negative thing we have to say is that the bed was so stiff. It felt like we were sleeping on the floor. Everything else was fantastic.

The hotel is beautiful and conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants, shops and the fairgrounds. I would recommend, however, that they invest in some new mattresses as ours was extremely hard and uncomfortable. That was our only complaint, and the location more than made up for a sore back; we'd stay there again.

Explanation from the front desk is that this is common this time of the year. Suggestion for the staff to spray the rooms.
- Phil (4/5): - We were disappointed to find our bathroom appeared to not have been cleaned, with a ball of hair in the corner and behind the toilet seat. The bedroom contained a dehumidifier which needed to be emptied 3 times per day (or night) and I discovered there was black mold inside the bucket. Bathroom vent made plenty of noise but did not remove any moisture. Most staff were kind but there was much confusion regarding our bill at the end of our stay. This was a very disappointing vacation for us.
