Guest Reviews
- Urszula (10/5): Relaxing home away from home with beautiful view - Relaxing, comfortable, elegant and clean, a stand out property. We loved the bottle of wine on arrival, too. Also the well stocked kitchen and the beautiful view. We would love to stay again. Nothing.
- Mia (8/5): - Everything was amazing! One bedroom we were told was a king sized bed and it was two mattress put together, and like a brick
- Clementine (9/5): - The house was very cute and in a great location. It had everything you may need and I really loved the quality of the amenities and toiletries. The only thing that was a tad hard was that because we had such hot weather the second bedroom was so warm it was pretty uncomfortable to sleep in. Would not be an issue at any other time of the year.
- Rachael (10/5): Amazing 10/10 would come back again! - The property had a lovely feel, so cozy and inviting. Outdoor balcony with a nice view and so quiet!!
Bed was comfortable and couches in front of the fire place. The Hepburn cafe is walking distance and has amazing food and coffee definitely recommended to anyone else who stays.
Shower was amazing!!!
I didn’t use the spa but my parents did unfortunately it does get cold easily but they said it was nice before that.
- Pleadar (10/5): Great location amd place, bottle of wine upon entry and close to everything. Only issues we had was the wifi not connect - Everything Had issues with the wifi not working

- Elizabeth (10/5): Cosy and comfy cottage in a great location. - The cottage was very nice and comfy. It had all that we needed for our three night stay. I loved the outdoor deck. It was nice to be able to sit outside and have a coffee and enjoy the warm sun. My husband loved the big backyard. It was unfortunate we didn't have our picnic blanket with us to lie down in the yard. I loved the sound of the birds. My son loved the collection DVDs and the cosy living room. My daughter loved the bedroom in the attic and I loved the style of the kitchen and the smell of the fresh bouquet of flowers in the living room. The cottage was in a good location and easy to find. We had a little trouble at first trying to work out how to turn on the electric induction stove. It would help if there was instructions provided in a drawer or on the wall. For example we weren't sure which was the power switch for the stove and when we did find it, it wasn't very visible, kind of hidden behind the knife block and bottle of cooking oil. The light globes for the bedside lamps in the bedroom in the attic were flashing continuously. At first I thought it was an electrical issue, but I checked both lamps and that's how both of them were. I then tried looking for spare ones to fit, even checked to swap globes from other lamps in the house, but they weren't compatible. So in the end I used one bedside lamp from the other bedroom, which had normal light globes, no flickering/flashing.
- Kerrie (10/5): Chic. Cool and warm, all at the same time. - Lovely clean , light filked. Good sheets.
- Bonnie (5/5): - The location was wonderful. Unfortunately, the cottage was not clean. We paid a lot of money, thinking it would be a pleasent experience.
The kitchen and downstairs toilet area lacked the most cleanliness.
- Leeanne (9/5): We were very happy with the location and set out of the cottage. It had everything we needed. - It was cosy and very well equipped.
- Georgia (10/5): - Very cossy property only 5 mins away from the shops.
The house was fully equipped and had everything we needed.
We were welcomed with a bottle of wine which was a sweet surprise.
Overall very satisfying with the property. I would highly recommend it. The driveway was very challenging for a 4wheel drive as it was very tight but we managed

- Darko (5/5): Passable - Comfortable, tidy place Hot water runs out before the spa bath can fill up
Firewood not supplied, wasn't told until after payment
- Naumoski (5/5): Passable -
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful cottage, in a perfect location. I was not expecting how beautiful the view from the main bedroom was- each morning we were greeted by a sunrise view over the trees. There were some extremely thoughtful additions provided ahead of our arrival. It was delightful for our kids as much as it was for us. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. I couldn't fault much! Some of the blinds were a bit sticky, but no real complaints.
- Elise (7/5): Good -
- Kassey (10/5): We all had an amazing time, great place to stay in an amazing town - Beautiful location, gorgeous cottage very happy The bed mattress
- Jordii (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (7/5): Overall A Lovely Place, However, Getting Old :) - A Beautiful Place With All That You Need For A Comfortable Getaway! It Is Getting Old, And Could Do With A Bigger TV In The Kitchen Living Space. Also, The Parking/Drive Way Is A Little Awkward To Use Given Its On A Hill And Isn’t Very Large To Move Around Comfortably When Entering Or Exiting.
- Niroshan (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning place to stay. Highly recommended 👌
- Anita (10/5): Awesome place to stay with everything you need. - Was a great little house with great back balcony. Would be great in any season. Equipped with everything you need for a weekend away.
- Angelo (10/5): Wonderful weekend - The property was beautifully appointed and presented with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The only issue was that my 80 year old mother was finding it a bit difficult to get down to the kitchen/ living area without something to hold on to , maybe something you could look into. I would highly recommend "the French cottage "
- Sonia (9/5): Superb -
- Jenelle (8/5): Very good -
- Phillip (9/5): Excellent stay in a fantastic location. - Great location and well furnished with more than ample equipment and good-quality branded condiments, and toiletries. Lovely views of the daylesford valley. Excellent spa bath in the bathroom. Cleaning could be taken up a notch in the bathroom (the spa bath was unclean) and on the living room floor.
- Kylie (9/5): A comfortable Country Cottage a great little place to stay! - The French Cottage had a lovely welcoming country feel. Very warm and comfortable even on a super chilly winter weekend.
Everything was well maintained and the hosts have done well to anticipate every need! Loved the electric blankets on the beds! The kitchen was particularly well equipped. Very quiet location. You might even see a Wallaby or two!!
- Ciara (10/5): Lovely quaint cottage stay - Cute decor Had to buy extra kindling to light the fire both nights
- Mary (8/5): This is the 3rd time I have stayed at French Cottage. - Location is perfect for our needs The cottage is beginning to look old
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jinendra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisah (9/5): Nice spot, close to the bath house and a quiet location - Property was difficult to find as the signage points towards Daylesford so if you are coming from the opposite direction you can't see the sign.
Also, the mirrors are all up high, I am 165cm tall and had to stand on top of 2 folded towels to see how to put my makeup on in the bathroom
- Catherine (9/5): Cute space with everything we needed - Great location and a beautiful house Nothing I didn’t like - it was great
- Andrzej (9/5): Superb -
- Paine (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (9/5): This is our 2nd stay here and we will be back for another. Love this place -
- Bennett (10/5): Comfortable, clean, convenient and well equipped! Such a cute little cottage! - The property was so clean and well equipped with everything you need! Lots of extra towels, fire wood and fire lighters! The bedding was excellent quality too with clean crisp and quality linen! Walking distance to cafes and Hepburn baths!! Could be better off street parking.
- Madeleine (10/5): Perfect weekend retreat - The property was so lovely and inviting. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Location was excellent
- Allie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Location, privacy, size, fire place, plenty of clean towels Nothing
- Isabelle (9/5): Superb -
- Dragan (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - The house had a lovely homly feel to it, beds were comfy and heating was on when we arrived.
- Dianne (7/5): It was good overall. - The location was lovely.
The only bad thing was the steepness of the driveway and unevenness of the ground. I had a elderly relative 85 yo with me who needed a lot of assistance. It was a lovely cottage and so tastefully decorated but the beds were too hard.
- Mayo (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing Nothing
