• Doris (9/5): - Der Ausblick auf die Landschaft ist wunderschön. Die Unterkunft ist einfach und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Aber es fehlt trotzdem an nichts. Das Bad wurde scheinbar erst renoviert und ist jetzt sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Essen war sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Eine kleine Oase ein wenig außerhalb von dem turbulenten Ella nichts

Though due to rain we could not sit outside. But this terrace location is mind blowing. Food was also good. TV not worked. internet was not working. no room tissue available.

The room was really calm and at the good distance from the noise of Ella. In our room the bathroom was new. The staff is great ready to help but discreet. The laundry service is available.
• Rajeev (3/5): Poor - Location and view from hotel The breakfast offered was average at best, and the lack of trained staff was evident throughout my stay. Service was slow and often unresponsive to basic requests.Surprisingly, the hotel did not accept card payments, which is inconvenient and outdated in today's digital age.The room was infested with mosquitoes, making it uncomfortable to stay without proper insect control measures. Additionally, the absence of air conditioning exacerbated the discomfort, especially during warmer weather.There was no phone in the room, which made communication inconvenient. Moreover, the absence of a lift meant climbing several flights of stairs for every need, which was exhausting.

• Peter (9/5): Outstanding views in a peaceful locale with a short walk down into Ella - It was all about the location which faced south down the valley covering both Ella and the waterfall to the SW. Excellent terrace in front of the property with uninterrupted views. The walk down into Ella took 12 minutes on foot. 500 rupees by tuk tuk back up the hill. No alcohol served - but you could bring your own onto the premises. Recommend that you book rooms on the second floor - our view on the first floor was slightly impeded by the roof, a water tank and a really poorly sited satellite dish.

The breakfast is something you need to consider to have it when booking room in this place. This place is a great place for families and small size groups. Great place to have morning morning exercises (walk, jogging, yoga) 1-2 Km far from city centre, However, they can arrange transportation

• Alexander (8/5): Good hotel with fantastic view - A great hotel with really good Sri Lankan-food (maybe the best rice and curry). Helpful personel that does their best to help with transportation. Fantastic view of Ella and easy to go to Little Adam's Peak and such.

• Helena (6/5): - On check in we were shown to a very dingy room downstairs which didn't have the extra bed for our son we had especially asked for. When we complained they offered him a room in another part of the hotel which we weren't happy with, eventually they moved us to a much nicer upstairs room, but it wasn't quite clean and restocked, but was OK for the one night. Dinner was OK, but quite bland and breakfast was not good.
• Lisa (10/5): Great service, wonderful view - Well, what a view! This place is breathtaking. The building is a bit aged, however, the rooms are large and clean. The hot water worked well and the bathroom was clean and tidy. I loved the feel of this place which was complimented with gentle, kind and homely customer service. No task seemed too much. The vegetable curry I ate for dinner was one of the best I sampled whilst in Sri Lanka. It was fresh, authentic home cooking. Yum.
• Mette (4/5): Not worth the money - First of all, the view was amazing! From the balcony, we were able to see little Adams rock. However, that is the only positive thing about the place. Our room was in bad shape - bathroom window was broken, many bugs, no air conditioning, no WiFi (that worked!), the staff didn’t speak very good English. Furthermore, we were woken up before 7am by loud noises from craftsmen.
• Daphne (8/5): - Lovely little hotel with stunning views. We had a large, spacious and comfortable room. Supun, the manager was so helpful with advice and maps for our walks. Also organised a taxi to our next destination. The restaurant has a surprisingly wide menu of both local and western dishes and the food was very good. Our only issue was a cold shower!
• G (4/5): - The views were amazing, the sheets were clean and one young man was cheerful- those are the only positive things to say. Everything needed a good scrub and I do not recommend this as a place to stay. Accommodation was provided for our driver but it was so bad he refused to stay there.

Room was dirty and we had issues with payment (when we checked out we were told everything was paid up but a few hours later they had informed us that we still owed money... they tracked us down in Colombo to retrieve the balance). Good breakfast and great views though.
• ST (6/5): Acceptable - Tour Sri Lanka for a few days and you will lower your expectations. Normally I would say this is an acceptable place. But I have been in Sri Lanka for 8 nights already and have seen really appalling places. This place is not too bad. At least there is hot water shower that works and a big ceiling fan. The view is very good. and that’s what makes this place worth it. Other than that there is nothing else worthy to mention about this place. But I would recommend this hotel only because it’s better than the other places at this price.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Not worth it - The view from the terrace and rooms was great (when there was no rain and fog), but that's about the only plus -- and to get the view one does not need to stay in the hotel but simply take a tuk-tuk up the hill. I had the impression that the owner of the place was trying to cash in on the location (view) without providing the minimum of resources for organisation and catering to make the stay in the place pleasant. Staff was trying to be helpful and to overcome these structural constraints, but they could only do so much. It was the most expensive place we stayed at during our round-trip of Sri Lanka, and unfortunately it was also the worst by far. A bare bones place with a limited offer of bad food (especially breakfast).
• jean-baptiste (10/5): - Very Nice place in Ella, calm and very safe, abowe 1.5km from the city center, but easy by walk to go (more difficult to come back, 200-250 Rs for a tuktuk). The view is unbelivable, the breakfast is perfect and the staff is nice ! For us, one négative point is the cleanliness or the room is not perfect, it can be better for the price. But we recommend this hôtel, it was a fantastic week in Ella Gap Panorama ! Thank you very much!
