• Wendy (10/5): Great spot with plenty going on. - A great hotel with a lovely welcome and fabulous staff. We had a high floor with great views over the river. Lots of water sports to watch when using the comfy sun beds on the balcony. The boat to the beach was good but you can walk if you wish to. The breakfast was varied and very good. We ate here for 5 nights and there was plenty choice. The staff went over and above to make us feel welcome. We had our choice of various table and they were all set to make us comfortable. On our last evening they dressed a beautiful table on the wooden pier, with paper flowers and romantic lights. We felt extremely special. After catching some great fish on their deep sea fishing trip, they cooked it and provided lovely vegetables and salad to accompany it. Attention to detail was well thought out. Thanks for the lovely elephant in our room (made from towels). Nothing it was all excellent. Maybe they could offers different breads at breakfast time but this is just a suggestion not a need.

• Ivica (5/5): Passable stay in Bentota but lower quality than other guest houses - Very specious rooms and confortable bed Very basic breakfast compared to other guest houses in Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan omlet provided was the same as cheese omlet, very uncomparable to other facilities. Linen on bed was dirty, need change. Except 1 person on reception which was good no one else spoke english.

Чувствуется настоящая забота Рыбалка тут топ! Персонал предоставляет снасти, лодки и даже проводника, поймали 3 больших дорадо и вечером нам их приготовили! Номера чистые, уютные, с видом на воду. Всё работает: кондиционер, Wi-Fi Питание - самые вкусные крабы тут, обеды и ужины с местными деликатесами рыба с гриля просто тает во рту В общем, вернемся обязательно! • Marc (9/5): - Uitstekende locatie, met uitzicht over de rivier Bentota waar je allerlei watersport activiteiten kan doen. Je kan ook naar de andere kant van de rivier gebracht worden om naar het strand te gaan, wat erg mooi is! Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en staan altijd klaar voor je om je te helpen. Viele shops, Supermärkte Geldwechsler, Restaurants. Großzügig geschnittenes, sehr sauberes Zimmer mit großem Kühlschrank, Bad und Balkon. Großartiges Frühstück, mit allem was das Herz begehrt. Western und local food, großzügige Portionen. Sehr warmherziges und hilfsbereites Personal. Per Boot kostenloser Transport zum Bentota Beach - konnten wir wegen dem Zyklon leider nicht in Anspruch nehmen. Nichts

Book! you wont be disapointed - It is truly a wonderful experience The hotel has the most magnificent views, staff exceptional, clean and great facilities. The only issue I had was with the tv and wifi, both were swiftly and efficiently solved. Breakfast was lovely and we ate our evening meal there on 3 occasions, very good food. We jet skied, went on a fishing trip and enjoyed the free ferry accross the river to the beach. I would strongly recommend. We felt like we were trated like family. I honestly cannot find fault

• Warren (10/5): Exceptional - You can't get a better room in all of Sri Lanka. Beautiful bed, fantastic modern bathroom, even a little fridge with cold drinks. Take advantage of the free boat ride across the river to the ocean beach. We loved it and we recommend it.

The staff were friendly and professional and helped with organising the river safari with them, which by the way I would highly recommend. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. Easy to walk to Bentota and into the town if Aluthgama. Would recommend a stay here

• Paula (9/5): Great place to stay, lovely views and super quiet.😊 - It was easy to get too and we could walk out for restaurants and tuktuks. Lovely view over the water and could watch the sun go down. Our AC did not work the first night and it was 30c+ but they sorted the next day - a squirrel or chipmunk had nested in the unit - then worked fine. Could do with some sort of shad on the balcony and maybe 2 subbed not just one. But v minor niggles that did not effect our stay.

• Kristoffer (9/5): Nice location! Good looking hotel. - Very good location! The hotel is very nice, and also offer a lot of water sports that you can book with them. They will take you to the other side of the river for free to visit Bentota beach. They upgraded our room for free, which was really nice! The airconditioner started leaking and broke down during the night. Not really their fault tho, and the room had a ceiling fan so we managed allright. They also locked the gate while we were out eating. We knocked on the gate a couple of times and then just jumped over the stair railings.

I had a little accident with a rental Tuktuk and the staff got out of their way to help us organize everything and we had to do nothing. Also the rooms are wonderful and the activities are so much fun with a reasonable price. If you are near, definetely go to Malu Banna! Everything was perfect!

• Claire (10/5): Picturesque Modern Hotel by the River - This picturesque modern hotel by the river’s edge. The photos don’t do it justice! My room was modern, spotless, comfortable and spacious but most of all it had a huge covered balcony, with spectacular views across the river. There is an attached restaurant with fresh and tasty food. Excellent wifi connectivity. Tucked away from the road and railway line but easy to walk or catch a tuk tuk into town. A family run business, which also owns a water sports centre by the same name. If you wanted to get to the beach, they would drop and pick you up using one of their boats. I also arranged a river cruise, with them, which was amazing, and at a reasonable cost. I would have no hesitation in recommending this stunning hotel. Nothing
• Mikko (10/5): Exceptional - Me and my wife stay 5 nights at Malu Banna hotel. This place has amazing customer service, rooms are kept clean every day and hotel staf will do anything so you can relax and enjoy your holiday. There are plenty water sport activities here and riwer has only small wawes so you can go watersport at any day. In Malu Banna there is great possibility to have fishing trip to ocean or to local riwer. We had both and catch & eat fish food. Yammy! One person who has to be mentioned is Chatu. Great fisherman with many helpfull tips with my own fishing gear to use and catch fish. Also from here is easy acces to beach as hotel is offering free transport both ways. Bentota beach area has wide sand beach with not that many people there. -

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Als ich beim Suchen einer All-Inclusiv Unterkunft zufällig auf Malu Banna gestossen bin, hat es mich gleich angesprochen und habe mich, basierend auf die Bewertungen, kurzfristig den Entschluss gefasst meinen Urlaub im Malu Banna zu buchen und habe die Entscheidung nie bereut. Wir hatten ein sauberes Zimmer an besonderer Lage, direkt am Fluss, zentral gelegen, ein Wassersport-Center und ein leckeres Restaurant. Was aber am meisten begeistert hat, waren die lieben, zuvorkommenden und freundlichen Menschen die wir um uns hatten, die sehr darum bemüht waren, dass wir uns wohl fühlen. Ich kann Malu Banna jedem der nicht zwingend auf einen fehlerlosen 5-Sterne Service angewiesen ist, wärmstens empfehlen.

• Anuja (6/5): - The room was clean. However, the blankets and tray/cups etc. in the room weren't. The tray holding the cups, plates and spoons/forks in the room was full of dust and the blanket had a stain from previous use. Also, the food service staff was untrained and slow. That was quite disappointing, given the fact that the food prices were quite high. Also, the floor in the room was slippery and a hazard for sure. Hope they work on making it slip-proof. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and welcoming. They were helpful in arranging complementary pickup from a previous hotel we stayed at and paid airport drop for us. The location of the hotel is good, but I think they can do better with the services at Malu Banna.
• Pia (10/5): Lovely stay! - I really don´t know where to begin when it comes to describe how much we liked it at Malu Banna! The staff made everything they could to make us feel more than welcome, including arranging trips, arranging speciial foods and treating us with a lovely farewell dinner our last night. The location is great with closeness to both the shopping and the river, and since they take you by boat the short way to the beach its no problem to get there (no more than 10 minutes walk anyway). The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet, and the view towards the river and all the action going on with the watersports is fantastic entertainment. But what we apreciated most of all was the warmth and the genuine feeling around the staff and the hotel. See you next year!

We had a magnificent time at Malu Banna and would high recommend this place for your stay in Bentota.
• BERNADETTE (10/5): Will Not Be Disappointed! - Not on the beach, but the staff, the room and the very quick speedboat (less than 2 minutes) to the beach made up for it! Opened in January 2017. The bed was so comfortable. The room was spacious with a large bathroom and a balcony. Great venue for water sport lovers.

• Paul (10/5): - Fantastic room with stunning views over the lagoon and the sea. Situated in a lovely neighbourhood that was more genuinely authentic than the beach hotels. Fantastic service. (small) issues were dealt with very quickly and efficiently. Staff were incredibly helpful. Food was fantastic. Good value for money. I would definitely stay there again if I was ever in the area. Highly recommended.
• Gabriela (10/5): Amazing stay - The hotel is just at the lagoon and the views are perfect. We were taken by a small boat to the beach so it was less than five minutes to reach it. The fresh para fish we had for dinner was truly excellent, compliments to the cook. And they sang “happy birthday “ and gave a complimentary cake for my birthday :)

• Bengt (10/5): Fint hotell vid floden. - Charmigt hotell med utsikt över floden. Närvarande och mycket trevlig personal som verkligen vill hjälpa till.
• Kristian (8/5): Schysst hotel med bra mat och trevlig personal! - Vi bodde på Malu Banna i slutet av vår vistelse i Sri Lanka och blev glatt överraskade. Rummen var nybyggda, stora och fräscha med härlig balkong mot vattnet. Super trevlig personal som var väldigt hjälpliga och trevliga. Malu Banna har väldigt god mat, vi åt den bästa curryn och helgrillad fisk där. Frukosten var ok, med toast, frukt och ägg. Hotellet erbjuder förutom väldigt god mat mycket vattenaktiviteter, vi var och surfade och paddlade kannot, säger man till lite innan så styr de upp det mesta. Hotellets lägga var väldigt bra, nära stan och stranden. Personalen skjutsar med båt till stranden.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect Simplicity! - Rummen var helt fantastiska, nya och fräscha samt även frukosten var riktigt bra. Resturangen erbjöd också riktigt bra mat. Ägaren var väldigt social och hjälpte till med mycket tips om vad man kunde göra.
