- 174kristinap (10/5): So happy we booked to stay here! - We had such a wonderful stay and couldn’t recommend this bed and breakfast more highly. From the moment we arrived, Christine made us feel completely at home! She's super friendly and kind :) And she has a great sense of humour too!
The place itself was spotlessly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable – we slept so well! Every morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast, which was the perfect start to the day.
Christine was always easy to contact and responded very quickly if we needed anything, which made the whole stay feel effortless and relaxing. She also gave us fantastic recommendations for local food and drinks, all of which turned out to be excellent.
One of our favourite touches was the cosy living room with a fireplace, which guests are welcome to use – it really added to the homely atmosphere.
Overall, a truly lovely experience. We would absolutely stay again!

- Annabel (9/5): Lovely - The location is great for exploring Brecon and the surrounding area. We stayed here then had a short drive to Hay-on-Wye for the festival.
Beautiful old hotel that has been renovated to high standard. Comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast.
Wonderful owner who was friendly and helpful. Nothing
- pwe0704 (6/5): Room 1 was a let down - We arrived late and were directed to room 1, firstly the room was tired with 2 single beds, furniture a little tired and the smallest cramped en suite bathroom.
I’m sure the other rooms were lovely but room 1 was disappointing.
Breakfast however was delicious and saved the day.
- Mel (10/5): - A lovely stay. Brilliant location.
- martin (8/5): -
- 458rhysb (10/5): - Great B&B in a characterful building in Brecon. We were there for work, but the town is a perfect base for a range of activities, and I enjoyed an early morning run along the canal nearby.
Christine, our host, was incredibly accommodating, communicating key information with us beforehand as well as providing guidance on places to eat that evening.
- Annette (10/5): Perfect host - Christine went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Gorgeous room with all amenities. Excellent food.
- Rhys (10/5): - Great little B&B, ideal for us working at the Royal Welsh Show in nearby Builth Wells.
Owner was very accommodating and helpful.
- janetgonegardening (8/5): - Well situated for Brecon, the canal and the theatre. We were given lots of help and advice about our stay. The beds are comfortable and the rooms well laid out. Breakfast was very tasty and lots of it too. There is limited parking right outside but the guest house has an arrangement with the theatre carpark round the corner which we found more than satisfactory. Being an old building there are changes in level throughout upstairs which we did not find to be an issue. The guest house has a comfortable guest lounge with honesty bar and coffee machine - a definite plus.
Superfreundliche Gastgeberin. Frühstück frisch zubereitet. Schwierige Parksituation. Sehr kleines Bad.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Christine was warm, friendly and extremely helpful from the point of booking until we left. Will be back again at some point! Nothing
- Countrylover29 (6/5): A little disapppointing - Good points.
Host Christine was very welcoming. House was characterful, and very clean. Cooked breakfast was nice, and well cooked. Bed was really comfortable, room was nice. Fresh milk in fridge on landing. House is very well positioned, - short walk to town centre, and bus stand.
Disappointments.
First and foremost, no hot water in room. Ran tap for more than a minute, but stopped because I did not want to waste water. I had to go out shortly after arriving, assuming that it would be OK by morning, but it wasn't. Mentioned this to Christine at breakfast.
No wardrobe in room, which I found surprising.
Room was on second floor, OK for me, but some might struggle with the stairs.
No cereals with the cooked breakfast.
TV picture constantly breaking up.
Front door was shut, and door bell not working, so I had to phone to announce arrival. Turned out the door was not locked.
Overall, it met my needs for the night, save the water situation. Struck me as a little expensive, taking everything into account.
- Anna (10/5): Great short stay. - The property is in a great location and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The host is welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was lovely. Recommend for anyone looking to stay for Y parkrun as this is in walk/running distance.
- Shelley (9/5): Great guest house with a lovely host - The property was very clean and very well looked after. We had everything we needed.
- Facer (9/5): Superb - Very welcoming. Nice room, with good facilities. Excellent breakfast.
- Georgina (10/5): Exceptional -
- eyecooper (10/5): Enjoyable and comfortable stay with lovely host - Excellent pre-arrival communications and greeting when we got there.
Efficient check-in, briefing and explanations. Checked where we had parked (to make sure safe from fines), discussed breakfast options and that we had booked somewhere for dinner as can be tricky in town when busy.
Room clean and comfortable, had all we needed… good night’s sleep in comfortable bed. Guest house is on a main road but no real issue or disturbance with traffic noise.
Breakfast was prepared and served nicely… met our needs (slice of lemon for smoked salmon produced almost immediately when requested) good quality ingredients and decent portion size.
A very pleasant stay… and would return if in the area.
Maybe worth mentioning that this is an old building with no lift.
We were on the second floor which was fine for us but someone with mobility problems would probably struggle on the fairly steep and narrow stairs to that floor… worth asking for a room on a lower floor.
- Douglas (9/5): Superb -
