Guest Reviews
- Claire (8/5): - Le bon petit-déjeuner, la possibilité de laisser les sacs pendants le trek du canyon.

- Clement (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joris (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (7/5): Good - Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Great that we can leave things while on the hike. Pillows were too big. When trying to use the bathroom after checking out I was charged; not a lot, but it left a bad impression.
- Katie (8/5): Great stop off before Colca Canyon hike - Good spot to stay before a Colca Canyon hike. Location was excellent, rooms were fine and breakfast was good.
- Yaneena (7/5): Good - Good breakfast. Good communication when no staff physically present at hostel. None of the rooms had been cleaned so I think we were in the only hostel room that was clean and it took a while to organise after our 7 hour hike! But the room was okay, shower was great and the staff were nice enough.
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Ilaria (8/5): Very good - The hostel is well located. The breakfast was really good and on the rooftop, which has a really nice view!! The personnel is really friendly :) The room is really basic (shower does not really work and the water is cold). The room was also not super clean.
- Pascal (9/5): Good hostel in Cabanaconde - Lot of space in the room (incl. balcony)
Shower with hot water
Breakfast on rooftop Hostel is not always open. The day before our reservation, we wanted to store our backpacks before we hiked down the canyon. Unfortunately, the hostel was closed so we placed the backpacks at the police station where the owner‘s daughter works.
Learning: text them in advance when you want to store your luggage
- John (10/5): Comfortable, clean, relaxing at a standard & style of European hotel. - I suffered diarrhoea before arrival & felt ill on arrival. Kind receptionist made me & brought local remedy drink to my room & happily allowed check in at 11.30am.
Liked room balcony.
Liked large, airy breakfast room with half glass walls on 3 sides. Great view.
- John (10/5): Highly recommended. Clean, comfortable; friendly staff. - Panoramic glass rooftop breakfast room. Great view.
Clean European style bathroom & bedroom with balcony. European level of cleanliness.
Kind , friendly staff.
Allowed to check in early at 11.30am.
- Paola (10/5): Exceptional - The owner is super kind. I was there with my boyfriend while I felt sick of the altitude. She made me tea with herbs to help with the altitude sickness. She was very helpful. After our hiking days in the colca canyon she allowed us to take a shower in an empty room so whe could get take our 16 hour busride feeling fresh. Would recommend this place! Nothing
- Nicolas (8/5): Good quality/price balance in the center of Cabanaconde - Cosy rooms, some with balconies, good breakfast, they keep your bag in a storage room during the trek, cheap compared to other options. The wifi does not work very good.
The woman made us pay sandwiches that friends had already paid, that was dishonest.
- Laura (9/5): Would recommend - Great breakfast! Lovely views from breakfast terrace. Clean, modern bathroom. Clean room and comfy bed. WiFi dropped occasionally but did the job. Nice staff who told us the bus times etc. It's not the hostel's fault but just be aware the windows are quite thin and allow noise from the town...there was a party going on in the town and we could hear it until 3am. I would have thought you could hear it from most hostels though unless they are double glazed which I doubt many are so it's not really a criticism...maybe just bring ear plugs (we did stay on a Friday and potentially not a problem with parties during the week?). The actual hostel inside was quiet!
- Erkut (4/5): Disappointing! - The location is great, the room, bathroom and breakfast are O.K. They advertise that guests can use the kitchen. Rather we had to almost beg to use the kitchen. We were about to cook quinoa and had to ate it raw, because the owner wanted us out of the kitchen to cook for herself...
- Charles (9/5): Superb - Nice, clean place. Friendly family running the place.
- Benjamin (9/5): Lovely little hotel, recommended! - The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely room overlooking the street with a private bathroom - very clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was delicious! We enjoyed our stay in the village and had some nice day walks from there :-) Nothing!
- Anja (9/5): Superb - + the most modern hostel in Peru we have been into
+ breakfast terrasse
+ price
- Annkathrin (6/5): Pleasant - Lot of noise all day and night. From the hostel stuff, like alarm, television.
- Robert (7/5): Would stay here again! - Good Breakfast, Good Location, clean and comfortable rooms. - could have given advice for hikes in the Canyon as I spoke Spanish
- 21:00 is too early to close the reception and hotel, like I had to call from another hotel to be let in again.
- Fulvio (8/5): Good place to start/end Colca Canyon trek - Good place to start your Colca canyon tour.
Simple but very functional. Good location and breakfast.
- Sabine (6/5): Pleasant - good location. what you pay for is what you get, breakfast was good. beautiful view from The terrace on reservation it said there was a restaurant but it was closed. The camera’s in the hallways beeped everytime someone walked past which was annoying
- Van (8/5): Very good - Clean rooms, nice breakfasts, luggage storage.
- Tamsin (9/5): Great place to visit Colca Canyon - Clean, comfortable bed, plenty of blankets. Close to centre, shops, restaurants and buses. Hot shower. View from rooftop breakfast room wonderful. Breakfast, juice, hot water for coffee and tea. Bread rolls, jam butter. Fried eggs.
- Simon (10/5): Good Hostel with breakfast - The room and the private bathroom are clean and the hot shower works. The staff is nice. There is free coffee and tee at all times, and the breakfast is quite big and delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a nice hotel, quiet place, hot water and good breakfeast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent for the price - For the price, the hostel was an excellent place to spend the night. The staff was very friendly, and the place is very clean. Plus breakfast and a free secure parking space were included. The only concern, they had not received the reservation from Expedia (perhaps because I had made it late the night before?) However, they only charged me the discounted Expedia rates.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Didn't honour our reservation. - We booked a room here for two nights as part of our honeymoon in Peru. We booked the superior room with a balcony, but when we arrived this room had been given away to a couple who had arrived just before us (on the same bus). We were instead given an icy-cold room with no external windows and mould on the wall. When we complained we were told that our booking had been cancelled, which was odd, as we had received confirmation of our booking from hotels.com, and had had no communication from the hostel directly. We'd even had the 'your booking is coming up' email a few days previously.
The shower was freezing cold, and overall it was the worst room and accommodation experience that we had in our three week honeymoon. We couldn't wait to leave.
