Guest Reviews
- William (5/5): If it wasn't for the bed., I would have been so delighted with the room. - The rooms were very nicely decorated. So cute! The bed was horrible. I couldn't even walk very good the next morning.
- Carol (8/5): - It was very clean and well appointed. The location was great. The walls are very thin, and you can hear the conversations next-door!
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- Margaret (8/5): Comfortable room and pleasant location -
- Chihhsin (7/5): Some thought okay - Easy check in and out.
Parking is just right in the front. Bed sheets didn’t look clean.
Bugs were inside of the room.
- Alice (7/5): - It was a great bang for your buck, location and size of the room wise. I liked the contactless check-in/out situation for easy access. The room could have been slightly cleaner. The a/c unit looked like it had never been dusted and so was the top of the fireplace.
- Kenneth (10/5): Friendly management, very nice! - Very nice small, quaint property. Nothing
- Wedel (7/5): Overall good and would recommend. - Convenient location. Good value for price. Room was a bit dated; couch uncomfortable. Office staff polite, but seemed unfamiliar with area.
- Paul (9/5): - Good location, clean and cute.
- Don (8/5): -
- Alena (8/5): -
- Alissa (8/5): Great value, comfortable bed and Room 3 was very spacious! - Comfortable bed, coffee in the morning! Bathroom fan was very loud, especially in the middle of the night
- Lisa (10/5): wasn't sure waht to expect but it was lovely - just a great spot for my photography group to spend a - It took me a while to understand that you sent me my door codes - luckily a guest was there and told us -
- Jack (10/5): -
- Randy (8/5): cute room, great price and value compared to other options nearby. - Very cute room. Nicely decorated and clean. The check-in process was great. I received instructions via text and was able to go directly to the room. The location was convenient, allowing for easy access to downtown Camden. We only stayed for a night as we were traveling to multiple cities in Maine. Would stay again for sure! The bathroom was small but functional. No coffee maker; however, coffee was available after the main office opened at 8 am. We had hoped to get on the road sooner, but we ended up being able to talk with the innkeeper, who was extremely friendly and provided us with tourist recommendations for places to visit.
- Na (6/5): Clean but air conditioner is noisy when running. - It is clean and easy access. The air conditioner is much loud when it is running. And maybe there is some debris or something inside the air conditioner. When it is running, you can hear some noise or loudly sound at the quiet night. I almost could not fall asleep then it was running or it woke me up by its noise.
- Brian (9/5): -
- Elen (8/5): - Very nice motel. Staff very sweet. I will say it was to cold when we arrived. The bed was creaking and the fridge did noice all the night.
- Johannes (8/5): -
- Beverley (7/5): -
- Peterson (10/5): We would stay again:) - The room was very comfortable and very clean. Towels were soft and so fresh. Sheets were wonderful. Pillows were different so you could. Choose. Shower was a great size and had hand held shower head. Coffee in the office was amazing. The staff was helpful and friendly. There were fire pits all ready for you to light and enjoy. Wonderful places to sit outside.
- David (10/5): Comfortable stay - comfortable and clean accommodation.
- James (7/5): is a good place if one is looking for 'old fashioned looking' facility - Had enough stuff for two old geezers, plenty of hot water, good water pressure, beds comfortable toilet seat loose, sink backward plumbed, not enough light at night
- Sheila (8/5): -
- Daisy (10/5): Would stay again for another weekend away - It was clean and really good vibes
- Brian (8/5): - I stayed two nights, When I travel I care most about cleanliness and the Starlight was well kept, very clean. The grounds are nice too, I was able to do business by the pool which was nice, with plenty of seating, even a fire pit. I will definitely recommend to others.
Also the area is absolutely beautiful!
- LOURDES (7/5): - Love the location. Exhaust not working. Stayed 3 nights no housekeeping have to empty your own garbage. Was ok
- Pelletier (10/5): Great stay plan to stay again next year - Location and convenience Nothing
- Lynn (10/5): - It was quiet. We felt like we were out in the country. I love being able to drive up to our door. This was a very nice place and very short drive into Camdyn or Rockport.
- Richard (7/5): -
- Fleming (10/5): -
- Suzanne (8/5): Very nice, would stay there again. - The decor was quite nice. staff was very helpful. Grounds looked very nice, loved the fire pit. t would be nice if there were a vanity at the sink. Room walls appear to be fairly thin.
- Annamaria (9/5): -
- Linda (10/5): Very comfortable, close to Camden - Beautifully decorated room, comfortable, very clean. 2 minutes from Camden Maine. Perfect for our overnight stay. Comfortable seating areas around pool. Easy access to room with door codes, made it easy with late check in.
- Regina (10/5): Nice place - Clean very comfortable N/a
- Jane (10/5): -
- Frechette (8/5): - Room was tiny, but cute. Bathroom was very small. You could sit on the toilet, soak your feet in the tub and touch the door at the same time.
- Elmira (10/5): -
- Florian (3/5): - The pool was fun and we liked hanging out at the fireplace. There is no coffee in the room, and the office is not open early in the morning, so we had to drive all the way to Dunkin Donuts to get a coffee.
The floors of the room were sandy when we checked in. No one bothered to clean the room for our 2nd night so we had to go to the office to get clean towels. Pretty disappointing.
- Alessandro (7/5): -
- Lauren (9/5): - The managers were very kind and helpful. The bonfire was an amazing touch to a great day. No complaints.
- Jessica (3/5): Very disappointed; spiders everywhere - Outside seemed quaint, bathrooms were nice. The rooms were dirty and had spiders (one was in our bed)! The beds were extremely lumpy and very old and need to be upgraded and the pillows were very flat. The sheets were also stained. There was also advertised breakfast but there was nothing, only coffee and granola bars. Would not recommend staying here.
- Valerie (10/5): wonderful - I didn’t want to review because this place is a true little gem. This was a repeat visit for us and it was better than ever. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The staff is helpful, friendly and kind.
- Mary (7/5): It was a good place to stay. The iwner had coffee and snacks in office lobby. easy check-in process owner texted me a co - Very nicely decorated and convenient stop for our road trip for one night. The pool was a plus. Tiny bathroom
- CHRISTINE (7/5): Bien placé pour visiter la ville de Camden - à ne pas manquer. - Joli aspect de l'extérieur, parking gratuit devant les loges. La chambre était très petite - nous étions 3 adultes et c'était très juste.
- Shari (10/5): - Wonderful spot with lots of character !
- Chengyi (5/5): -
- Thomas (8/5): - Sehr nettes Personal. Bequeme Betten und schönes Zimmer.
- RBGColoradoTraveler (10/5): Great Place - Very clean room, beds were comfortable, reasonable price, good location close to Camden, & hostess was very accommodating.
- Diane (10/5): -
- gary (10/5): -
- G5625DYamandat (10/5): Best oceanfront camping experience!! - We stayed in the Puma camper right on a beautiful private beach! Very quiet and secluded, enjoyed a nice campfire. Clean and very responsive hosts! Quiet dead end road we enjoyed walking our dogs every morning. A nice grill to cook and plenty of secluded outdoor space to relax! Will definitely be back!
- Seamus (8/5): -
- Amber (9/5): My stay was lovely, and quiet - just what I needed. - The room was super cute, and comfortable. I love that there is no need to check-in/check-out, but the owners are on the property and available if anything is needed. N/A
- Lauree (8/5): Great little place if you want a clean, cute and cozy location to stay. - The room was small but it was very clean, well decorated and had lots of extra touches. They definitely take really good care of the place and also have great pride in it.
- Valentiate (8/5): A great stay and a great location. - Bed was large and excellent. The room was very clean. no coffee maker in the room. and no Kleenex
- Ellen (3/5): -
- kirtyt2016 (10/5): Comfy & Cozy! - Very clean and cozy room! Checking in was simple. The manager was kind and attentive offering to make dinner suggestions or offering coffee.
Nearby delicious food, stores, and the conference I was attending. Appreciated that it was very quiet after a long day!
- Alison (5/5): Good motel - Place was clean, easy to find and got messages from the front desk to make sure that everything was good on our side. Beds were extremely soft and you could feel the springs in the mattress. You could hear everything in the neighbour's room.
- Kathleen (6/5): By adding a few comfort features, this would be a cozy, friendly place to stay. - The owner put care into the room with homey decorating touches. There was no table or chair in the room. The only place to sit was in bed. We were tired that night and just wanted to get carry out food and eat in our room, but ended up having to go out because we didn’t want to eat in bed. There was no place near the bed to charge the phone. They need the lamps with a charger in the base. If I recall, there was plastic between the sheets and mattress that made the sheets slide and get loose. We had difficulty with the TV because we are not familiar with Roku.
- Leah (6/5): Convenient and comfortable. - Near family. Could see our car. Price was reasonable had fridge and microwave in room. Heater in our unit was so loud had to shut off; thankfully we had extra blanket. Coffee not available until 0800. Name is deceptive- on a major highway, not a harbor.
- Rodney (7/5): -
- Richard (8/5): Unique roadside inn with clean. comfortable rooms - Warm and cozy room. Unique place to stay. The bed was comfortable, and the towels were plush. About a seven-minute drive to downtown Camden which is a delightful seaside town. It has an unusual heater that is quieter than most wall units, although the whirring sound took getting used to. We enjoyed the morning coffee found in the lobby. This is a real roadside inn. No breakfast services. Very little contact with staff since you are given the room punch code before you arrive. No closet but hooks by the door to hang our coats.
- Deborah (10/5): Comfy, clean & convenient! - It’s so quaint and in the perfect location to drive to Rockport or Camden harbors. The decor is so eclectic and welcoming. Not applicable! It was great!
- Taylor (8/5): -
- Richard (8/5): Wonderfully comfortable and would definitely return and recommend it. - Room had virtually every convenience at your fingertips...electric fireplace, large TV with loads of channels and mood pieces...deck...relaxing lighting, etc... A Keurig coffee-maker would be nice.
- Neil (8/5): -
- Katherine (8/5): -
- Gordon (6/5): -
- cgO4480YD (8/5): Good for a stopover, but not a longer stay. - This place is fine for a one night stopover. I say that because there are a few things that would make a longer stay a bit uncomfortable. There was no place to put clothing, only a few hooks on the wall. Could have used some tissue also.
We stayed in an accessible room and the shower/tub was good for me .... as I have mobility issues.
It was a quiet night's sleep and I liked the electric fireplace.
It was a long walk to the lobby to get coffee, so we passed on that.
- Richard (10/5): Highly recommended - We had a great time there and were very comfortable. Can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
- Marilyn (9/5): The location was great. Room was large and very clean. Plenty of towels and blankets. Bed was comfortable. I liked the - Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable and plenty of blankets and towels provided. The free coffee was fresh brewed every morning and supported local Maine company. Easy access with having to use a key. Staff was friendly.
- waytay (10/5): Great modern yet classical road side retreat. Everything one would want and more. - Small, cute, quaint and private.
Staff and property had everything one would want with lots of charm. Everyone was more than helpful and the room was clean and whimsical, most unlike anywhere we have ever stayed. I would highly recommend staying here. Old style comforts and hospitality with a modern yet classic feel. I highly recommend.
- charlah2018 (10/5): quaint nearby towns with plenty of history - friendly staff/ very clean
The cozy firepit gathering at the end of the day was lovely. It is always nice to meet new people and interact with them. The nice looking property has an artistic flair to it. Someone there must have an artistic flair. Really neat sculptures!
- Jill (5/5): -
- Sonya (8/5): Very cute, quaint. - The firepit! No one works in the office during the posted time. It’d be great to get a cup of coffee before 8:00 a.m. They should have the coffee available earlier.
- Lori (10/5): We loved our stay. We have family in the area and we will probably stay here again. - I really liked the private porch. Even though the rooms were connected, it felt more like we were staying in a cabin than a hotel. It was air conditioned for the summer and there was a gas fireplace/ heater for winter. The bed was comfortable and the decorations were attractive. The staff were nice. There is coffee and breakfast bars, but no continental breakfast. You will need a vehicle. It is a few miles away from most of the places that you will want to go, but close to many small towns in the area.
- Susan (10/5): Great place clean and updated and nice amenities - Everything Nothing
- Karen (10/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): -
- michaelsQ1572IK (10/5): Would recommend! - Very accommodating, friendly, and helpful, services. The home was comfortable and classic, updated and clean. The area is beautiful and offers excellent tourism and historical views within five minutes. This place is large enough to accommodate at least 10 people!
- Patrick (2/5): - Did not find the disposition of the staff to be kind or helpful.
- Asmitherma (9/5): - The room was both charming and spotless, making for a cozy stay. The pool was simply terrific, providing a refreshing escape. And as a self-proclaimed coffee snob, I was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional coffee in the office—it truly exceeded my expectations. Nothing
- Simona Iuculano (7/5): - Il contesto, la gentilezza della proprietaria Struttura un po' vecchia, pavimentoun po' sporco.
- Linda (7/5): -
- Angela (10/5): Surpringly stylish roadside motel for a great night of sleep - Very easy check in, nicely decorated, comfortable, cute place. Also great they welcome most dogs That we couldn’t stay longer. They have a lovely pool area but we were just passing through and needed quick overnight stop so didn’t have time to stay and enjoy.
- Sharon (8/5): - Location was perfect for Lobster Fest No closet, but it was a short trip
- Stacy (8/5): -
- catherinekM7574HQ (10/5): A Pretty, Practical And Peaceful Stay! - What a wonderful, affordable place to stay, right in the middle of everything!
The innkeepers are a very congenial, hard working couple, who strive to make a visit complete in every way. They know the area and are able to make great suggestions. Although the property is on Route 1, Rockport is a gem, between the much busier, Rockland and Camden. It's a short walk, down to the quietly beautiful harbor! The property itself, boasts an immaculate pool and several comfortable areas of outdoor seating.
- Bertelsen (10/5): I was there for dog shows. Very cute place - Comfy cute and welcoming N/A
- Mikayla (10/5): Would Stay Again! - The A.C. was super effective during a really hot time in Maine! Decorations were cute and the morning breakfast was excellent! Owners are incredibly kind and communication was above and beyond. Plus, the location is great! Would definitely recommend! I didn't have a hard time with the mattress, but my sister found hers to be a little more worn than she needs for her back!
- J8011QKkathleenv (10/5): Reminds me of road trips with family when I was a child. Retro look. Modern conveniences, Wi-Fi, cable tv etc. - We stayed in the double queen ADA room. We live in the area and have seen this place get a complete facelift and retro look upgrade. So cute and interesting. Lots of outdoor seating areas in shade and sun. Grills. Beautiful pool! Perfect for this handicapped senior. Walk in steps with rail. Small but just right for doing my water exercises. I could walk across the width of the pool without help . Lots of lounge chairs for sunbathing and seating in the shade too. The innkeepers were delightful. Helpful and accomodating. Grounds well landscaped and kept. We will be recommending the Starlight Lodge at Rockport Harbor to family, friends, guests and tourists.
- Ray (8/5): Good place to stay while touring the Museum d coast region. - Nicely run properly with helpful owners.
Great breakfast rolls available.
Good pool for the heat of summer Rooms are quite small but are in good condition.
- Reilly (8/5): -
- elizabethcH843RN (8/5): Thank you! - The people were so nice and they really thought of so many ways to be accommodating. There were lots of amenities that made it special.
It definitely had a motel feel, but the people made up for it with their kindness and interest in making sure we had everything we needed.
- colleengI6686YV (10/5): Playful nostalgia served with comfort & cleanliness - Part of the fun of staying at the Starlight Lodge is the playful '50s atmosphere that is well represented everywhere you look. It completely wraps you in the nostalgia and comfort of one of the most beloved eras.
You'll find retro joy in the red, black, and white color palette, restored vintage travel trailers and a matching food truck that serves up fresh breakfast treats on Saturdays. The twinkling lights and atomic-age landscape sculptures add to the charm.
The hands-on innkeepers are friendly and really helpful. This is a family-friendly, dog-friendly place that's clean, cheerful, well-lit and easy to find.
Hope you all enjoy your stay there as much as we did!
- Judy (8/5): -
- bhaustx (10/5): Great accommodation and experience - We rented the 3 bdrm house. Excellent accommodation. More importantly, our innkeepers Cindy and Earl were above and beyond. More like neighbors we’ve known for years. Very accommodating friendly and helpful. They gave us so many tips on where to eat and what to see. Really enjoyed our time with them.
- Heather (9/5): Good value for the money. - The room was very pleasant with a comfy bed, refrigerator and microwave. The huge TV dominated not only the small room but also the entry way! Each of us narrowly missed getting a concussion the first time we walked in!
- Aimee (5/5): Ok for the price- great location. - Really cute sitting areas and fire pit. Pool was meh. The room felt like it was 60% there, but they dropped the ball on the last 40% which could have made it great. The beds were ok, but the microfiber sheets on a humid night were NO bueno.
