Guest Reviews
- Raena (10/5): - Being in nature
- Debra (9/5): Very relaxing in a natural setting with plenty of amenities for comfort - Very accommodating and responsive owner and staff. Very comfy beds. Great venue with wildlife all around - monkeys and birds. Lots of short trails to enjoy. A night walk with a staff member to see sleeping wildlife like birds, sloths, lizards and spiders. Meals were very hearty and tasty. Both meat and vegan options. Breakfast was huge and delicious! Beautiful breeze was refreshing, keeping us cool. Easy access to WIFI in common area. Not too many cabins so you get to know some of the other occupants and share stories. Access to cards and table games in the bar area. Loved listening to the natural wildlife sounds at night and early morning. The owner provides transport on the mountain in his 4- wheel drive if you need it. Also he can send a driver to pick you up and take you back to your hotel. The water pressure was minimal at certain times of day - thus difficult to rinse shampoo out of one's hair. This is understandable given that the location is off the grid so all water has to be hauled in.
- Michael (10/5): Natur pur!
- Leah (9/5): Not to be missed--the Mambacho Lodge is a hidden gem in the heart of the Mambacho Cloud Forest. - An absolutely beautiful stay in the heart of the Mombacho cloud forest, on the Mombacho Volcano's lower hillside. Howler monkeys, sloths, butterflies and tropical birds are abundant around the lodge. The tall tree-platform is a special lookout over the canopy. Don't miss the night wildlife walk! This is a remote location, and considering that, the facilities are wonderful. Our cabin did not have AC or hot water, which we were prepared for, but it would not be for everyone.

- Alexander (9/5): This property is situated in the middle of remnant dry rainforest on the slopes of Volcan Mombacho, in what we learnt wa - Beautiful bungalow accomodation that’s rustic but comfortable and charming on a beautiful property.
The staff are really attentive and helpful, any time there is an animal sighting (ie Sloth) they will let the guests know so they can view. The people running the kitchen do a terrific job, the kitchen/communal area is great. They offer transport to/from the bus station on the main road at either end of your stay, where there are regular buses to Granada.
We enjoyed only having wifi at the kitchen (no internet in the rooms) to be able to ‘tune out’, but definitely something to note if you feel you need internet.
The food was on the expensive side for Nicuagua but great breakfast and dinner options (vegetarian options included) and great flexibility when to eat.
Great location for going to the Butterfly reserve, zip lining tours or walking up Volcan Mombacho (which is what we did). They can organise transport to the top for guests too. Staying at the lodge definitely makes a visit to Volcan Mombacho more inexpensive and logistically easier.
The trails within the lodge and the treetop viewing platform are really cool. There’s many Howler Monkeys and a few resident sloths that are often seen.
The highlight of staying here is doing the night walking tours, we paid the equivalent of $15 USD for two people doing a night walk around the lodge with one of the staff where we saw a variety of animals including Opossums, Porcupines, Owls among other critters. This was our favourite night tour we did in Central America (yes even compared to Costa Rica), due to there being no other tourists and on private conservation land. Prices are a little expensive for Nicuagua but for us it was a worthy trade off for a unique travelling experience. If you’re on a tight budget stay in Granada.
- Wendy (8/5): - Hot shower
Monkeys
Privacy - lovely cabin #1 is the best
Mirador - canopy viewpoint
Coffee delivered to our cabin in the. morning
Nicolas - responsive, arranged all day trips
Amazing jungle in the wilderness
Good food Would like more and longer marked hiking trails from the lodge

- Corinne (8/5): -
- Mohammad Naim (9/5): Lohnt sich - Mitten im Dschungel.
- Emma (8/5): -
- Helen (9/5): Immersed in nature in wood cabins - Immersed in the forest around Mombacho Volcano, lots of birdlife and howler monkeys plums an interesting night walk with the chef, seeing sloths, snakes and lizards. Limited food menu but all very good and freshly prepared. Great breakfast too. Accommodation is rustic but this is what this lodge is all about ! You can only access via 4x4 but that’s fine as the owner can pick you up.
- Rony (10/5): -
- Frank (9/5): Secluded hide-away - Rustic, super basic bungalows, tucked away in the jungle. We enjoyed the solitude, the feeling of roughing it in the jungle. Dinner is huge and tasty, very inexpensive. The host is friendly and helpful. The windows of the bungalow are only of gaze, no glass panes - becomes a bit chilly if a cool winter wind is blowing at night.
- Bryan (8/5): - Liked being in the jungle, yet close to Grenada. Food really good. Owner very friendly and helpful.
- Tamás (9/5): Aki dzsungel vagy esőerdő közeli élményre vágyik, azoknak ajánlom! - Bőséges és ízletes reggeli! A fa lombkoronájába vezető lépcső az fantasztikus! A személyzet kedvessége. A bőgőmajmok kiabálása. Az elhelyezkedése, nyugalma! Nicholas (tulaj) jófejsége!
- Clara Elisa (8/5): -
- Clara (9/5): - Very special jungle experience in the middle of the forest, lots of animals, view from the tree platform Only if you are not too afraid of spiders :)
- Jasper (8/5): -
- Elise Rosemary Amiet (9/5): Jungle life - Right in the middle of the jungle. The howler monkeys were amazing. Went ziplining from there, heaps of fun. No wifi in rooms (only restaurant) Accommodations are basic but made up for by the location.
Zanzariera top.
Abbiamo fatto il trekking notturno, consiglio!
Colazione buonissima e host sempre disponibile.
Paradiso, da tornarci! Nulla! Tutto perfetto.
Niets.
- David (9/5): Great value for an authentic jungle experience - If you want to stay in the jungle near a (dormant) volcano with all your basic needs met and at a great price, this is it. You can spend hours just listening to the jungle. The bedding was very comfortable, and I had no issues sleeping in the mosquito tent covering my bed. (I was surprised to discover that mosquitoes really aren't a major issue in this part of Nicaragua.) All of my meals were plentiful and tasted great. (Breakfast is free, while other meals are a la carte but at very reasonable prices.) Note that there are only four cabins, so there's plenty of privacy. The owner/manager lives nearby and does everything he can to make your stay comfortable. The location is rather remote, and you must arrange special transportation with the owner/manager. (The roads are impassable except for 4x4s.) The paths to the cabins are manageable during the day but challenging at night. The lighting and steps need to be improved. If you have any mobility issues, this is not the place for you; otherwise, it's great.
- Alister (10/5): - Unique location right in the jungle. The staff were very helpful and can arrange everything. The breakfast was fantastic.
- Casey (10/5): - Gorgeous space with walking trails! Animal life and night tours.
The only downfall is you are not allowed to bring your own food or beverages.
- Flavio (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff,
Nicolas the owner was very helpful and kind!
Great location if you love wildness and nature
- Pablo (8/5): Very good -
- Abigail (8/5): Very good - The cabin is great, basic but has everything you need. The dinner was fabulous and we would recommend the night tour!
- Kerrie (10/5): Excellent!! Everyone should do this for at least one night when visiting Grenada! - Absolutely incredible stay!!!
This should be on everyone’s list when visiting Granada.
Wonderful from start to finish. Good food, great host, incredible location!
The monkeys and the hummingbird were highlights.
Take a walk to the butterfly sanctuary round the corner and worth a hike around the volcano too.
(Others mention Girl working in bar/cafe area is not very friendly, it’s true, but she’s a great cook and the owner makes up for her lack of conversation and smiles in bucket fulls - he can’t do enough to help!)
- Michael (9/5): Nice experience. - The host, Nicolas, was very helpful (thanks). The breakfast was OK, room is clean, so if someone would like to spend some time in "jungle" with the noise of insects and birds instead of vehicles, and slightly limited Wi-Fi this place is for you. Hot water was not available mostly.
- Donald (8/5): - 1st, this not a property for the very stuck up. This is real for backpack traveler and those interested in outdoorsy adventures.
Its literally on the Mombacho Volcano. Try walking to the top or there are taxis thay can take you.
The host is very helpful and friendly, he can set you up with transport from airport n back. Along with other adventures. He also has a great Night Walk thru the jungle where you can see the wild life
- John (10/5): The perfect natural cabin in the depths of the forest park. - The owner, Nicola is very helpful with communication and advice on getting there. he will pick you up from the park car park and drop you at the best bus stop for onward travel - for a $2.50 fee. His staff Karla and Jorge and always smiling and are both great cooks producing a huge breakfast of rice and beans with eggs and bacon ready for hiking ups the volcano. Dinner was equally good with a good choice for such an off-the beaten-path lodge. The rooms were far bigger than we expected and completely screened and the beds had mossie nets in good condition. This is a lodge in the forest and as such is amazing in having hot water showers and an incredible 30m viewing platform in the forest canopy. Jorge does a night walk for a few dollars and we saw a snake, spiders, opossums and birds. We did see a sloth but that was higher up at the park eco reception centres and cafe. We walked from the lodge to the top of the volcano where there are 3 trails - one easy and 2 guided. Nothing. Just bear in mind where you are. This is not a manicured hotel but it is an amazing experience - enjoy it!
- Yumiczka (8/5): Very good - You're in the middle of a forest, restaurant is good, platform in the trees is pretty spectacular, we got to see monkeys
- Isabelle (4/5): Cool location , jungle experience. Unfriendly staff and very weird vibe. We checked our early - The location is amazing for activities - very much in jungle. The room is authentic jungle however not comfortable and would only share if it’s with a partner as the tent is tiny,
Staff very very unfriendly The staff, owner rude and the chefs seemed uncomfortable (Albeit great food) .
The vibe was awkward .
No comfort area to chill
- Brigid (10/5): - The trails through the jungle around the lodge are incredible, and very well maintained. The owner and staff were very attentive, and I felt completely taken care of, from the moment my plane landed, until my return flight took off. The lodge owner matched me with a guide, Harold “The Tiger,” who took me on several grand adventures, hiking, kayaking, birding, touring white towns. This was the best stay I’ve ever had, anywhere! I plan on returning, soon. I can not recommend this place enough!!
- Emma (8/5): Emmersive rainforest experience - Nicolas was so very helpful, he wanted us to get the most out of our trip. The lodges are in the middle of the Mombacho reserve and it feels amazingly wild. We wanted to emerge ourselves in the rainforest experience and we certainly got that. The lodges are basic situated near a 30 + meter viewing platform which was incredible. All sorts of creatures, beautiful butterflies and howler monkeys. Lodges are very basic and not bug and spider proof but that’s part of the experience.
- Gloria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): This is a basic ecolodge but Nicolas is very good at helping and organising all the transport or offering advice . - Eco lodge very well located in the jungle It was all good
- Debra (10/5): Unique nature experience - Staying at Mombacho Lodge was an incredible experience. I got the opportunity to stay in the park. There were howler monkeys, a sloth, butrerfliesand beautiful plants and trees all around me. Big groups of howler monkeys came through the property twice each day.
- Aimee (10/5): An amazing jungle cabin at a unique location - We absolutely loved our cabin in the jungle. It is such a unique place that makes for amazing experiences. The night tour was amazing. The food was delicious, especially the chicken and the pork fillet. Breakfast was plenty and filling. It is a great location to make your climb up Volcano Mombacho early in the morning. Nothing, really. Keep this place exactly as it is!
- Elizabeth (9/5): Beautiful location to explore the volcano or just relax - Beautiful location, surrounded by forest. I saw monkeys from the dining area and walked up to the viewing platform to watch them all pass by in the trees. There was a good mosquito net on the bed which I appreciated as I didn't have to worry about bugs at night. I was able to book trips including a volcano hike, Zipline and coffee farm tour (can't recommend the coffee one but the others were great). They also got in touch with me when I booked and helped me to arrange transport there. The food was simple but good, and there were vegan options. The vegan options were all fried food and the menu was pretty limited, but it was fine for a weekend. Would have loved more drink options.
If you are scared of spiders/ bugs then this won't be the place for you.
- Oksana (8/5): Very good - We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay at the Mombacho lodge, despite the brutal weather. Unfortunately we had a hurricane passing with a lot of rain. However, it's a peaceful and beautiful place: plenty of wildlife around, waking up to the sound of howler monkeys and birds. We liked the food, hot water, cozy screened bed and we enjoyed the company of adorable friendly dogs. The night walk is a must to do: we saw a lot of animals including 2 slothes! Nicholas picked and dropped us to the main road. We liked to come back! Have realistic expectations for such a harsh wet environment. The road to the lodge is really bad and bumpy. The wood of cabin displays some dicay. Too bad we couldn't climb the high platform because of constant rain.Maybe November isn't great for visiting .Please watch your steps carefully for barb wire enclosure
- Lisa (7/5): Basic accommodation in a fantastic location with great food available - Great location to hike the volcano and see wildlife. Night walks are easily arranged and we were lucky to be able to see a sloth.
The food was great and easily able to cater for vegan & vegetarian The pathways can be muddy & slippy so have good walking shoes
- Lauren (1/5): Bad - Location. Stairway into the trees are very special. Dirty room. So much gecko poop behind bed. Clearly not cleaned for a long time. Poop smeared on bedding. Only 1 very hard to reach plug behind bed amongst the poop. Blinds were so moldy that I started to let them down for privacy. but then decided against it. Bats nesting in kitchen storage area. So much poop there that had clearly accumulated over mnths. I am not a wilting wallflower but even I was concerned re hygiene. Meals outrageously expensive for overcooked oily food. :(
- Harris (10/5): Exceptional - This is an extremely special place. Absolutely beautiful. Walking throughout the property you will see so many butterflies and birds and the howler monkeys with greet you in the morning. The only negative was
the woman working in the common area/ restaurant was not very nice. I felt like she disliked me for some unknown reason from the first time I saw her and said good morning and she just looked at me and turned a way. Never a smile to be seen or greeting to be had. The owner is very nice and helpful. But the woman is the one there primarily and for this reason I did not feel very welcome and would not return.
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Right in the rain forest, surrounded by wild nature nature. If you love nature, this is the place to be. When we did the night safari, we saw a snake, the poisonous barba amarilla, a tarantula, frogs, a cameleon, and others.. the howler monkeys can be seen in the trees all the time.
They cooked for us brealfasts and dinners, fresh delicious meals. Nicolas gave us tips for tracks and was very helpful with everything. Highly recommended.
We hiked up to the volcano, which was quite an intense hike. In the end, we didn't see the crater because of the fog and rain, but the walk around the volcano is quite beautiful. The rooms could use a bit more thorough cleaning, but you're in the jungle afterall.
- Evan (10/5): Exceptional - The lodges were very comfortable to stay in and roomy. The included breakfast was very convenient and all of the meals that I had there were very tasty and well-prepared. The staff were all friendly and accomodating. It was a great atmosphere to stay in as a first visit in Nicaragua, and I was even able to see howler monkeys from the restaurant patio. Conveniently close to the trails of Volcan Mombacho. Would definitely return!
- Margaret (9/5): Superb - breakfast was amazing. very impressive to have good food so deep in cloud forest. very lovely setting as booking.com photos show. cabins were very simple (also as shown) rustic, not fancy which is good for us. . Monkeys passing through trees like a caravan during evenings and sometimes during day. can arrange driver and trips to various spots nearby...a rustic, cloud forest gem.
- Eric (10/5): Amazing stay in the cloud forest - Amazing location in the cloud forest. The lookout deck is spectacular. The food was delicious.
- Jannes (10/5): Best place to experience wildlife and Mombacho volcano!! - The host and owner of the lodge Nicolas is very nice and helpful with organizing hikes on Mombacho volcano. The lodge is truly in the midst of the Mombacho Reserve - we were able to observe a sloth for several days as well as howler monkey every day - and offers a great view from a tree platform and has a really nice space to stay and relax. The food is very good as well.
- Alexis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Russell (8/5): Stunning Location - Beautiful location in the heart of Mombacho Volcano Nature Reserve. We saw so much wildlife during our short stay, including howler monkeys, hummingbirds, tarantulas, scorpions, a snake and a skunk. We highly recommend the excellent night tour. The breakfast was filling and the WiFi was strong in the restaurant area as promised. The lodge itself was simple but spacious and had a good view of the wildlife from the balcony. There's a really cool viewpoint setup in one of the tree canopies. The owner could have been more welcoming when we arrived. There was no real 'hello' and we weren't given any information on the park, area or wildlife, other than the rules. Admittedly we could have asked more questions but I think most visitors would like to know what wildlife you can see and where you can see it. For example, when we told the owner we were setting off to walk to the top, we weren't informed that 2 out of 3 of the trails close from around 12:30pm onwards.
- Anne (9/5): Superb - Very cool spot in the rainforest!
- Aleksandra (4/5): Unpleasant and stressful - The breakfast and dinner was great. Unfriendly staff and crazy unsafe ride to the lodge. The cabins inside are very rustic and unpleasant.
- Danielson (9/5): Amazing place! Highlight of our stay in Nicaragua. - Sleeping in the jungle was such a cool experience. We loved that there was a family of howler monkeys living in the trees surrounding the lodge. The staircase to the canopy lookout was a nice surprise and a beautiful spot to hang out. The guide who led the night hike was excellent and helped us spot many animals we would have never seen. The host had prompt communication and was very organized, helping us with our tours and transportation. Some meals were very salty, but always cooked fresh and a good set menu. The portions are very large, so I would recommend sharing a meal if you are not a big eater.
- Mark (8/5): Lovely to be up in the forest after the dryness of the coast. A tarantula joined us for dinner. -
- Claire (7/5): Good - Being engulfed in nature is fabulous. The views from the cabin are wonderful. It was often tricky to locate staff.
- Iris (9/5): Superb - The location is superb. In the middle of the jungle between all the animals. We were even woken up one day by a group of howler monkeys right above our cabin. The owner was friendly and helpful. We also recommend the night tour!
- Mark (9/5): A night in the jungle. - Beautiful area. Friendly owner. Nature experience. Wonderful meal.
- Heidi (9/5): For nature lovers who also enjoy a hot shower - The location in the middle of the forrest. I specially enjoyed the night tour Depending on your sleepong habits and how much silence you need to sleep, you might need to use earplugs
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional - Secluded and immersed in nature. Rooms were private and cozy. Great launch point to Mombacho Hikes.
- Wilfredo (9/5): Good stay to appreciate the nature - Location None
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Cabins were very comfortable and clean, food at restaurant was fantastic and the owner went out of his way to organize fun activities for us like zip lining, going to top of volcano and horseback riding.
- Rita (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place to stay, perfect to disconnect from the city, the platform is amazing you have a wonderful view of the forest and Granada, the staff is friendly and approachable.
- Nelson (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect quiet place on the side of a glorious volcano. This volcano is super lush and contains a rare cloud forest. The cabins are very cute and practical. Nothing really, I was there for just one night just doing the hike at the top of the volcano. An extra night would have been great to do the awesome zip lines near by.
- Andriws (9/5): Superb -
- Cody (10/5): Exceptional experience! - You will not be disappointed spending a few nights here if your goal is to get into nature and disconnected from this technology ran world we are in. Amazing staff, amazing experience overall. Just be warned, one time here won't be enough, you will be back Could use fans in the rooms as it does get hot but only during part of the year. Most of the year it's very cool
- Juliet (1/5): Like being on I’m a Celebrity. horrible. - the bats in the bedroom were sweet.
the local boys who work there as cooks were nice.
this is not a hotel, it is old sheds in the jungle, not fit for purpose and should not be on the website. A tarantula in the room, the bedding is old and not suitable - fleece lower sheet and a duvet - so too hot to sleep, the bed base was old and dirty, mosquito net didn’t fit the bed, the shower was dirty and cracked, gaps around the cabin door and part of the doorframe eaten by insects, broken planks on the balcony, balcony was very dirty. this is not a hotel -it’s old sheds in the jungle and was not fit for purpose. we didn’t feel safe there. we did the night hike but there was more wildlife in our bedroom. we left a day early.
- Linda (8/5): Really enjoyable, a special location. - Great location on the volcano in the jungle, quite remote.
Good breakfast, friendly & helpful staff. On property, viewpoint in trees accessed by steep steps ( not suitable for young children) Not so easy to jump on transport to top of volcano as trucks fill up further down fhe road (it was busier because it was the weekend). Needed to walk quite steeply uphill to cafe to get lift. Would be unsuitable if you have difficulty walking.
- Rabideau (10/5): Great place for an immersive nature experience - Staff is so nice and so helpful. Nicholas is super generous too, picked us up from the base and dropped us off after our stay. The food is great, especially for being in the middle of the jungle. El Mirador is beautiful, be sure to check it out! We saw a bunch of howler monkeys. Ask about the night tour! Very cool Everything was great
- Rhiannon (10/5): Exceptional - Great location for the hike up Mombacho. Nicolas and his team were phenomenal in catering to all our needs. The nocturnal tour is a must. Brekkie is huge and lovely. Maybe bring a mosquito net if you need one. We didn't need one, so not a problem for us. The cabins have full meshing on the windows and doors anyway.
- Marie (9/5): In the middle of the rainforest! - perfect location in the middle of the rainforest, where you can hear all the animals! Cozy feeling in the restaurant with hammocks and games. the Hotel also has a wired stair up in a 20 meter tall tree where you can see the whole landscape 🤩
Staff were kind and offered a night walk in the forest (say yes to this!). Restaurant was great and fair prices. You live in the forest, so expect insects and spiders. Bring mosquito spray.
- David (9/5): A perfect place for people who want to be absorbed in nature and enjoy the peace of the mountain. - Super location right in the lovely forest at Mombacho. It also has an exciting jungle ladder to a viewing platform, and the opportunity to take hikes up the volcano or shorter ones around the lodge.
The cabins are spacious and comfortable with lovely hot showers.
I also enjoyed the fascinating night safari.
The manager is kind too, picking us up from the bus stop and dropping us back
In Granada at thy end of our stay.
It’s a special place in the heart of nature. Everything suited us well and we had a wonderful experience but, for suggestions for improving I would say the food is on the pricey side and the dogs could startle people nervous around them.
- Steel (10/5): Best place I stayed at in Nicaragua. - The food was amazing. The bungalows were perfect. I was surprised how cool it stayed in there during the day. The location has trails you can explore. My wife and I saw plenty of monkeys while exploring. Additionally they offer a night hike which is really cool. Lastly this is a great place to stay if you want to do the crater hikes.
- Michelle (10/5): staff and management were great. definitely a hidden gem of nicaragua. will definitely stay there again - remote , in nature , rustic , eco , food
- Nastassia (10/5): Exceptional -

- Daniel (9/5): Superb - A wonderful remote place to relax and enjoy the nature around.
- Nikoletta (10/5): great place to stay for a few days while visiting the volcano - how remote it was. It was like camping without camping.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - located in the lush jungle with access to the the cloud forest at volcan mombacho. very peaceful place to relax. great food and we enjoyed the night walk. staff were very helpful nothing
- Olga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deepal (10/5): Nature at its best. - Breakfast and dinner (we did not have lunch there) were superb. Very reasonable price for being in the middle of the forest. Host Nicholas and his staff were very helpful and friendly. Nicholas even dropped us to the bus station to catch the bus and he picked us up at the entrance to the Mombacho Volcano conservation area. This is the place to stay if you want to escape from your busy daily life. You go to sleep to the sound of the forest (Mombacho Volcano area is very windy) and wake up to the sound of howler monkeys and birds. What else can you ask for. Nothing
- Cara (10/5): Highly recommend staying here! - The cabin was really comfortable! Being in the nature reserve was incredible! Staff was very friendly and solicitous! The food at the restaurant was delicious! There’s a very tall tree with a stand to look out over Mombacho and the cities below. The heat at sea level was a bit oppressive, so the slightly cooler temperatures were amazing!
- June (5/5): Passable - location was good. fun suspension staircase up to lookout. cabin very basic - extra bed was a hard army cot- our 8 year old grandson ended up in bed with us. the owner shows you in, then is no where to be found (and you’re supposed to let him know when you can’t get hot water-which is always).
- Davis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gma1290 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jarek (10/5): Exceptional - location is the best. in the middle of the forest, gigantic trees and exotic plants - far away from civilization. on the hotel's ground hanging bridge with the platform in the top of the trees with amazing view. ideal place to watch birds. Highly recommended.
- Nicola (8/5): Very good - The team were great and the place is great for connecting to the nature of Nicaragua A little more basic than expected, but was as advertised.
- June (5/5): so much potential but didn’t draw us in at all. - beautiful property. cabins were basic and rustic. staff who cooked were nice but not engaging. not much conversation or explanation on our night hike. enjoyed the suspension staircase up to the platform high in the tree. enjoyed seeing the couple of howler monkeys high on the trees. meals were ok. the owner wasn’t the least bit friendly or engaging. didn’t feel invited to hang out in the main area with games or staff or even other guests to talk with. owners’ dogs were frightening as the 2 German Shepards come running at you barking. owner showed us our cabins then told us the hot water might not work and to let him know if it didn’t - which it didn’t- but he was no where to be seen until we checked out.
- Carmen (10/5): If you want to experience Mombacho in a natural setting, this is the perfect place! - Loved the rustic cabins in the jungle, hiking trails, monkeys, and treetop stairway with amazing views of Mombacho volcano, Granada, Lake Nicaragua, and surrounding areas. The peaceful setting was a welcome change after the hustle and bustle and loud music at night in Granada. Food was delicious, and the owner was super nice, giving us a ride not just back down the mountain, but all the way to the bus stop after our stay. He even provided bug spray!
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - Amazing and unique place to stay! Back to basic ans connecting with nature. It was a incredible stay, your surrounded by monkeys and other animals. The staff was also friendly. We loved it!
