When we had difficulty setting up Mei Tuan app due to the lack of mainland mobile number, the staff quickly offers her personal mobile number for us to use. Unable to reach the hotel despite leaving messages via app. Even booking.com was also unable to reach the hotel, which was a bit of distress as it leaves me wonder if my booking was legit.

- Kostas (10/5): Great experience, special thanks to the hotel's staff, Everyone was very helpful and polite! - The location is excellent with easy access to the Subway (two stations close by, 8-10 mins walk (AnliLu and Olympic Green). Everything was great. The only thing negative was that the restaurant was closed for renovation, something that was not communicated during booking. The hotel made sure to offer lunch and dinner options in the breakfast area, but there area was open only till 10 pm and there was no room service options.

- Roy (6/5): Good Hotel - I think this hotel is brilliant. However it might not be for the reasons you personally look for. It's location, for me, could not be better. More about that in a bit. I would rate this hotel a strong 3 star, maybe a low 4. Everyone is lovely and they do their best to make your stay pleasant. Breakfast is the typical buffet arrangement and you can easily find something to sort yourself out. The hotel is clean. Room service happens daily and you always get a nice smile from the ladies doing the work. The rooms are clean. They are dated though. The heating/air-conditioning does work but, it's a bit of a nightmare to work it out. Looking at the previous reviews they are all pretty accurate except the 2 out of 10 rubbish. The free WiFi works well. You can use apps like WhatsApp and (with a VPN) Netflix. There's stuff that is disappointing. A restaurant that has weird opening hours. 10-15:00 etc. Completely useless to me. There's a Chinese restaurant in the evening but, why would I eat there?? There's millions of them outside the hotel all of which serve stunning food for loads less money. There's certainly things they could do to make this hotel even better. What makes this hotel brilliant for me is the location. It is situated on a large busy (safe) crossroads. One way it's Anli Road the other is Huizhong Road. You can find pretty much everything you want on both these roads. You have fantastic restaurants and also the likes of McDonalds, KFC, Dominoes etc.
- Hong (10/5): - I love the decoration of the hotel, the hotel staffs are very friendly to welcome visitors check in; and the staff in cafeteria whose name is Isabel Hong Li very professional and the staff in Chinese restaurant whose name Yina liu is also very good. Overall I like this one and will come back to stay next time.

- tstein5367 (6/5): Close To Olympic Park - Nice views from top floor room, "Executive Floor" there was one clear day looking west the mountains were visible. Clean and smart, this used to be a 5-star hotel but is about 20 years old, so I think it is now a 4-star. This means 3 stars for western standards. It's a nice lobby but cold with no places to sit. The rooms are small but clean enough. I didn't try the breakfast but a cup of coffee in the lounge cost me 125 Yuan! That's about $16 bucks. Ouch. Staff do not speak any English.

- sun20 (6/5): An average hotel - This hotel is more than 10 years old, and has lost its original elegance. My room is not bad, but has many little problems. For example, my room was so hot – I could not change the temperature - had to use paper to block the vent; in the meantime. But I heard some rooms were just too cold. Also, my room has some power sockets, but none in a convenient place. The front entrance/parking is a mess. There is no public transportation nearby.
- Bayouexec (10/5): stayed here for 5-nights - as part of tour - no problems or complaints - Our tour group booked up here for 5-nights ...from which we traveled each day to the many attractions in Beijing. Very convenient to all the places and next to the Olympic stadium. The hotel was very clean and the service was typical of a 5-star rating. Breakfast was also better than average...and the coffee was also good. The bedding was also good and they brought fresh towels each day...even though we had hung up the wet towels to dry. No complaints.
- WEIJIE (2/5): poor - I had to wait a while for checking in & check out. The complimentary bottle water is limited 2 bottles a day for a 5 star hotel stay - I have never had this experience.
- Olga (8/5): Five nights in August 2018 - We stayed 5 nights in August 2018, a couple with two teenagers. Had a very good two-room unit for a reasonable price. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is really close to the Olympic Park. There are some food establishments and shops in the neighborhood. A metro station is about 10 minutes away (walking). The best way to reach real attractions was by taxi - ordered by the hotel so the price was low and set in advance. Two issues: 1. It is not clear why they sell breakfast for two when the number of guests is four - of course we knew that so no problem but still a bit strange. 2. The hotel has a swimming pool that was closed. For this time of the year - very warm and humid weather - this was really disappointing. The staff cited some "maintenance", so the only solution was to send the kids to Olympic Cube - not that close and at our own expense, of course.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good location, but A/C doesn't work - Decent location. 10 min walk to the subway. Walking distance to the Birds Nest. And the breakfast buffet was good. But, the rooms were always too hot, which made it hard to get a good nights sleep. Told the front desk and they said they would have an engineer look at it, but nothing changed. Room was always 77 degrees, regardless of where I set the thermostat. Also, the concierge desk was eager to help, but sent me on 2 wasted trips. We wanted to visit Beijing University, so they gave us good subway directions. But apparently they didn't know that you cannot get into the university without a university ID, so that was a wasted trip. On another occasion, I needed a new blade for my shaver and I gave them the specific make and model. They sent me to a store that they said they had contacted to confirm they had the right blade, but when I got there they did not stock my brand - so that was another wasted trip. Will definitely try a different hotel on our next trip.

They fixed the problem almost immediately but not prior to me trying to enter the other customer's room. Only two items on the room service menu were available which is absurd. I am very disappointed that this is considered to be a five-star hotel.

- Sara (8/5): Great stay, poor service in restaurant - The hotel itself was lovely, the staff had limited English but was sufficient. Our only issue was the service (or lack there of) in the main restaurant for breakfast. There was no communication beyond asking for the room number, we were gestured in, sat ourselves, and no one once came by our table to see if we wanted the buffet or to order from a menu, we had to serve ourselves tea/coffee from the wait staff counter, and there was zero service or interaction despite several wait staff being in the room. Otherwise, that was our only complaint, everything else was very nice. Clean, quiet, and comfortable.

- 102janined (8/5): A long stay revealed the best and worst of this hotel - I stayed for 12 nights in this hotel with my 2 children. We ended up in a very well-appointed executive suite. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the stay didn't begin well and I almost decided to take our business elsewhere. We began in a 2-bedroom suite on level 11. It would have been a perfect room but for the powerful stench of cigarette smoke. This is supposedly a non-smoking hotel. As a non-smoking family we all felt unwell within minutes. It wasn't possible to open the windows. I complained and was told there were no other 2-bedroom suites available, so we could stay where we were, or be moved to 2 separate rooms. We were offered an air purifier, so I decided we'd try it and stay, because surely the smell would clear and we needed to stay for 12 nights so I didn't want to be stuck with 2 separate rooms. On Day 2, we went to check out the recreation facilities (dingy indoor pool, stuffy gym area, no table tennis or billiards despite the signs saying so... this was the low point of our stay!)... and I saw a staff member (in the massage/"health" area) smoking! I put in a complaint to management and we were upgraded to a 2-bedroom executive suite on the 23rd floor. No extra charge :-) From here on, the stay was very nice and I stopped thinking about finding another hotel. The executive suite was large and comfortable. My children (not the most adventurous) enjoyed the room service dinners every night. The breakfast became somewhat monotonous but there wasn't anything to really dislike about it - a good spread of Chinese and Western items. The room was well cleaned every day. We still had a faint whiff of cigarette smoke from time to time, but it was bearable, and not overpowering as it had been on Level 11. Occasionally in the lift, the doors would open at Level 6 (the recreation level) and the smoke smell was always strong there. We did see cigarette butts in the toilets on Level 1, and in the ashtrays in the lobby. It would have been nice to have a usable swimming pool and some recreation facilities for the kids for such a long stay, especially as I was working for some of the time. Because of the lack of these facilities, and the pervasive cigarette smoke, I've marked the hotel as "not suitable for families with children". The concierge staff were helpful in assisting me to track a parcel that I was having delivered to me at the hotel. There had been some mix-up with the delivery company that there was no way I could have understood without speaking Chinese. I was very grateful for their help. The location is not central (4th Ring Road) but the subway is fairly nearby. Also nearby is the Birds Nest Olympic complex, including the lovely "Olympic Forest Park" which is worth checking out for a quiet couple of hours. There's a supermarket across the road and several restaurants in walking distance.
- francois210 (10/5): Excellent hotel for Beijing stay - This was my second trip to Beijing. The Celebrity Internatioaal was just fantastic. I must admit the quality of the rooms and the top service surprised me. I had a very comfortable suite, with a separate lounge and bedroom and a fantastic view of part of the city. The bathroom was just one of the best set of amenities I have experienced in hotels this year. The buffet which combines Chinese and contemporary breakfast, was srcumptious. The staff at both check-in and check-out were efficient and friendly, the concierge extremely helpful and when faced with an ATM that only "speaks" Chinese - the staff was there to lead me to it and translate for me. I had a great stay at the Celebrity and look forward to return.
- Kristytheclown (10/5): Excellent service! - I stayed here for a work trip in May and the service was impeccable. Everyone we're very helpful and we got upgraded to very large rooms on both stays. My colleague had her birthday when we were there and they came with a cake to her room. Super sweet! We didn't use public transport so can not say much about getting around. I didn't try the breakfast but went to eat local Chinese food which was available nearby. If you crave western breakfast there is a Walmart across the street where you can get yoghurt, bread and fruits. But give the Chinese breakfast a try! I'd stay here again for sure!

Breakfast is very good with several options for vegeterians. Quality of rooms is very good but even in the non smoking rooms you feel smoke.
- 753vladyc (10/5): A gem of a hotel - Located in front of the famous Olympic stadium in Beijing (great views of the venue particularly at night when the lights are on), the hotel offers a very casual and yet elegant atmosphere. Stay on the executive floors 20-22 and request a room with a view of the stadium. You'll hate leaving the room at night. Management is a delight to deal with as they'll cater to all your needs. One just needs to ask. The Chinese restaurant on the 2nd. floor is fantastic and the manager can recommend the best food if not familiar with the Chinese cuisine.

Worst of all, even though my room was a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor, cigarette smoke seeped into my room regularly (I think via the bathroom fan) and all my clothes hanging in the closet near the bathroom smelt like cigarette smoke! Yuck! :( The staff were nice and friendly and the concierge was super helpful however, and that made my stay more bearable.
- msraquel73 (6/5): Comfortable - I went to China for a week and this was the first Hotel we stayed in for 2 nights. When you walked in the hotel had a nice entrance. The room was decent and I was able to charge my phone from the T.V. rather than use a adapter. One of the things I really liked was the bar they had buy one get one free drink specials as long as you gave your room number. You could also pay with R&B or American credit card. Now what I didn't like was the breakfast every day I left I had to take 2 Tums to ease my stomach. The American breakfast foods were not that good. It does have pool, but it was very dark and questionable we did not proceed any further.

- Adam-Rye-UK (8/5): A good stay - Comfortable hotel with attentive staff in a good part of town. The hotel was close to, and I had a room overlooking, the Bird's Nest stadium used for the Beijing Olympics. The food was good and we enjoyed our stay.
- stevelK2785OI (4/5): Awful - I stay there for less than a week in Oct. 2016 for the purpose of annual conference in Beijing. I have to say the location of this hotel is pretty good, which is close to the national conference center and Olympic park. But the services are hardly match their reputation on-line at all. The room is poorly cleaned, the shoe-cleaning items were used and put in the closet without renew for newly checked-in guest, the staff there were poorly trained with bad manner, they were lying on the couch with shoes-off and playing cell phone when a guest asked them sth else. What’s more, the staff were highly unfamiliar with everything in this hotel, when I inquire the business hours they gave totally wrong information that upset me a lot. Hardly you can imagine a hotel like this can survive long...... I wanna make a positive comments on the service of fitness center, although the towels and water are not sufficiently supplied, but they fix it in a timely and good manner.
- 753vladyc (10/5): My home away from home - Celebrity International Hotel is the friendliest one I encountered in China. Twice every year I travel to China on business and make it a point to stop in Beijing just because this hotel makes me feel so welcomed. From the general manager to the concierge, all cater to my needs with courtesy and friendship. The rooms that face the Olympic stadium are magnificent and the view is amazing.
- ACFrery (8/5): Good hotel, amazing service - The hotel is fine, albeit a bit old and in need of some care here and there. It is very well-located in a main avenue and close to a subway station. There are many nice restaurants at a walking distance, and a supermarket around the corner. The highest point is the service provided by two staff members: Eduardo, one of the concierges, and the maitre that takes care of the breakfast (in fact, the breakfast is just excellent). They are attentive, kind, and ready to help and to advice. I took an executive room, and found it a bit small but overall adequate. I recommend this place.
- Sileeds93 (8/5): Comfortable roost near bird's nest - This hotel is in a perfect location for the Olympic Park, is well connected with central Beijing by the nearby Subway station and is surrounded by shopping malls and restaurants. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite and we found the rooms to be comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Although described as non-smoking, the rooms did smell of tobacco. Otherwise we were very happy with the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful.
- zuasyes (8/5): good for Expo - If some one want to visit expo, like we were there for CRH Expo but simultaneously we also want to live in bit live area at night, so this hotel ok for this kind of choice. McDonalds / KFC & Pizza Hut is just diagonally across the road and some massage parlous are around which offer excellent foot massage This is a Non-Smoking hotel, but you can open the window and smoke keeping ON bathroom exhaust, However hotel mentioned heavy fine for in room smoking, but I did it carefully, so no problem if you know the tricks staff is very very very nice and helpfull
- jakenick24 (10/5): Awesome service. Friendly staff. - China has been a very friendly place. And the staff here is very helpful. Rooms are clean. The population is in hotel same as outside I think rooms are very clean for Beijing. Thank you. Breakfast is very good.
- jinnes (6/5): Average business-style hotel - This is a reasonable if slightly expensive hotel located close to the main Olympic landmarks such as the Birdsnest Stadium. The restaurant is quite good, although the breakfast was frequently missing some of the dishes - they were replaced, but the service could have been more prompt. Bedrooms were comfortable and well-appointed.
- ArtinSP (8/5): Not a bad hotel - CIGH is good but not as good as a 5 star hotel. The first shocking thing happens when you want to check-in. Some receptionists cannot speak English. About room, water is not potable!!! Each person is given a 330ml bottle of mineral water per day. Also, its breakfast is lets say average.
