• Joy (6/5): MINT - MOST INCREDIBLE NIGHT THANKS - thank you my colleague and i had a super time getting ready for our function up the road. I would love to make one suggestion that perhaps there is a ramp to the front of the hotel for wheelchair access and to wheel your suitcase up but other than that it was perfect for our stay. If i have to every be in the area I would definitely book into MINT again.

• Princess (3/5): Unmet expectations - The hotel is ideally located near a variety of vibrant and convenient restaurants, offering plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy yourself. We also had the chance to visit the Museum of Illusions, which is situated nearby, making the area both engaging and enjoyable. Overall, the location is not only convenient but also safe, adding to the comfort of the stay. We arrived at the Jungle Suite we had booked—keeping in mind that this was far from a budget option, at approximately R2,600 per night. Upon arrival, we were warmly received at reception, and our luggage was promptly taken to our room. However, the experience quickly took a disappointing turn. Roughly 40 minutes after settling in, we decided to check the television and air conditioning, only to discover that neither was functioning. Although the hotel provides a 24-hour WhatsApp contact, responses were delayed, so we had to call reception directly. A staff member arrived, and while security managed to fix the television, the air conditioning remained completely non-functional. What was particularly baffling was being informed that the maintenance technician was on leave, with no available substitute. For a hotel of this calibre, this was simply unacceptable. It raises serious concerns about how emergencies, such as plumbing issues or other urgent repairs would be handled. Quite frankly, the explanation felt inadequate and unprofessional. The lack of air conditioning was a significant issue, especially given the cold weather on the day of our arrival. The hotel’s solution was to provide a small one-bar heater, which was far from sufficient. When we raised our dissatisfaction, we were redirected to central reservations and informed that cancelling would result in a 100% penalty. This left us feeling trapped rather than supported. Another disappointing aspect was the handling of the security deposit. While the booking through Booking.com was straightforward, we later received communication suggesting a possible deposit for damages. Upon arrival, we were required to pay a R2,000 deposit, refundable after inspection. However, no incoming inspection was conducted with us present. Yet, an outgoing inspection was carried out.

They don’t have SABC channels and we had to move to another room because Netflix remote was not available for that room. When we moved to the other room the Netflix was working only for it not to work the next day.

House keeping was a bit lazy from how they made the bed and i don't think they cleaned the shower. And i had to go ask for the pilow cases after they were not replaced. Last, in the room I was in, the view was just trees. Nothing interesting.
