- Emma (9/5): A boutique stay in a central location - The location is very central, it was clean and was perfect for a night stay. The radiator was on really high so the room was hot. As it was a steel radiator, I couldn’t switch it off.

- Mike (9/5): Excellent nights stay with great food - The staff were excellent,. Food was really tasty - both dinner and breakfast. Room was good size with very comfy bed and nice big walk-in shower. Location very handy in the middle of Marlow - very close to river and park run. We stayed a friday night and there was a band playing - so the bar was nice and lively. No parking on site - it was around 200 yards to nearest car park. Our bedroom (number 6) was over the kitchens and the fan noise from the kitchen was loud - luckily stopped at 9pm and didn't start until 7am. No robes in bedroom. However - all small things and we would definitely stay again

- Susan (10/5): This is a quaint hotel in a very cute town. It is a great romantic get away! - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a charming pub below the rooms, and we had a great dinner there. The room we stayed in was adorable. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, and our room had a clawfoot tub and a modern shower. PLUS- we had fresh baked cookies waiting for us!

We ended up staying as we were so well looked after, I did ask for the ladies name but lost the piece of paper, she was incredible! Thank you! The location was perfect for us, right in the heart of Marlow

Great atmosphere in the Bar / Restaurant. Room was very comfortable and quality bedding. Breakfast was delicious well cooked quality produce The only negative is no carpark but parking was straight forward and very close to the Hotel. This would not stop me returning

- Jane (7/5): Great location but not a great nights sleep - The location was really good, staff were helpful and breakfast was great The shower wasn’t cleaned properly.. it was full of limescale so water was spurting off in random directions. Plus the shower hose was very black and needed a good spray of cleaner and a wipe. Mattress was also very soft and hall light stayed on all night which shone through the door. Our room was by a generator too which made it too noisy to leave the window open.

However the smell of damp/mould from the bathroom was a little off putting. The visible damp/mould in bathroom window area and edges of flooring needs some attention.

MOULD in shower, grouting damaged. Mould on window ledge in bathroom. Bedroom window glass loose due to putty falling out. Sunday roast dinner at 7 PM very poor. Vegetables and roast potatoes were dry and desiccated.
- punam (8/5): - Stayed overnight and the check in and check out was incredibly smooth. The staff were lovely and the rooms are great. Having the nice coffee, tea and fresh milk was an added bonus.
- Simon (10/5): Chequers Marlow. - Situated in the centre of Marlow, a 2 minute walk to the river, lots of shops and bars nearby. Friendly staff and excellent service. The room was very clean and tidy, the bed really comfortable. Quite expensive but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.
- Jennifer (6/5): Bathroom & pillows need some attention! - We stayed in room 2. The room was spacious and we liked the decor/styling. The room had pretty much everything we needed for a short stay, the fresh milk in the tea/coffee area was a nice touch. The pillows had seen better days - very flat, not comfortable and we noticed in the morning, quite badly stained. Unfortunately the bathroom also really let it down. There were very obvious ventilation issues (you could see the water drip marks down the painted walls) and lots of discoloured grout/sealant around the shower. It was fine for one night. We arrived quite late and left early so didn’t really interact with the staff much but when we did they were helpful and the check-in/check-out process was efficient. Location is excellent for access to bars/restaurants/shops. The hotel does not have parking but there is a public car park a few minutes away.

- Karen (7/5): Nice pub, offering good value accommodation. Very noisy. - Lovely staff. Comfortable room & bed. Huge bathroom. The only issue was that we couldn't sleep and as we had an early flight to catch, that was extremely frustrating. We accepted that there was a band playing in the bar and it boomed through the floorboards but thought it would quieten down after 11- 11.30. Unfortunately, there was no peace until 1.30 am from below and just outside the pub. They really need to warn people that at weekends, sleep may be challenging. As above.
- Anthony (7/5): - The location was great and our room and bathroom were a good size. The landlady who welcomed us was really helpful and friendly. The roast dinner was lovely. We weren't told that the pub was due to shut on the Monday. Our baggage pick up service called us to say they couldn't get access to our bags. Luckily they eventually managed to get hold of someone to gain access. Also our breakfast service was less than ideal as the member of staff who was there did not seem at all happy. A shame really.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Loud live music till the early hours - Establishments like the Chequers have to decide whether they want to be a live gig venue or a hotel. They can't be both. It's a form of fraud to market yourself as a hotel, where people can sleep and then have bands playing beneath bedrooms in an old building with zero sound insulation. Music went on until 12 am, and then the noisy clear up until 01:30 am, by which time I was too wound up to get to sleep. Felt exhausted all next day. Can not recommend as a hotel.

- Leigh (10/5): Night in Marlow - Located on the High St made it a great location for shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. And only five minute walk to the River Thames. Room was lovely. Vary spacious with plenty of storage. Bathroom was lovely with large walk in shower. We did not have breakfast but as we left it looked lovely. Staff very welcoming Nothing I can think of

Improved investment to the bed with top off an excellent stay where the staff where very accommodating to all needs ..we would recommend!

- christie (7/5): Nice hotel but not worth the money it cost - Location was excellent. Parking nearby. Room decor was nice. Breakfast was lovely and good value as it’s less than menu price if you’re a paying guest. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Bed was comfy. No air con, 2 fans & 1 didn’t do anything, no telephone or way of contacting staff if there was an issue other than going down to the main pub area, windows didn’t stay open, blinds broken. Staircase area was dirty and in need of a bit of paint. Shower not great, small head sprayed everywhere and leaked from the handle.

Bed comfortable. Great location in the centre of Marlow. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in in the bar area is not ideal. Quite smelly - bad food odour at all times and you have to walk through a lot of smokers standing outside to get in. Rooms were stiflingly hot even though the weather wasn't particularly hot outside.

- Stella (7/5): Good - Situated in a good location, excellent breakfast and left us a lovely note to accompany the wine we’d requested to celebrate our anniversary. Nice touch of homemade biscuits and bottled water left in the room. We didn’t eat an evening meal during our stay, we have however eaten here on a previous visit to Marlow and the food was excellent. Unfortunately, we stayed on two of the hottest nights with temperatures over 30degrees. Our room was unbearably hot, even though a fan was provided, it was of no use. The windows had safety locks and couldn’t be opened very wide and there was no breeze leaving the room feeling stuffy. Obviously, we appreciate they are not responsible for the weather, but maybe invest in some small air con units, to help make the room more comfortable in such situations. Our room also overlooked the area where the bar staff emptied rubbish and glasses etc, this meant it was very noisy after the pub had shut with staff talking and cleaning. On our last night, we could hear the staff talking and tidying until around 2:30am, you could hear clearly their conversations so maybe a reminder to those staff working late to be mindful of the rooms near them, not great when you can’t even shut the windows due to the heat! We personally felt that the room was very expensive and not good value for money, we were celebrating a special occasion and felt a little disappointed.

Room was nice and very quiet considering it was above a pub and on high street. The Chequers is in the centre of Marlow which is a lovely town and makes the location perfect for access to the excellent shopping and riverside for walking. The day we stayed was the hottest day of the year and although the hotel provided a big fan the heat in the room was very uncomfortable. Would be nice to have a small fridge.
