Guest Reviews
- Laima (10/5): An Unparalleled Sanctuary of Peace and Genuine Care - If I could give Suarapura Resort more than ten stars, I would. This isn’t just a hotel; it’s a soul-stirring experience that redefined my expectations of luxury.
The Staff: Heart Over Hospitality
What sets Suarapura apart is the staff. I have stayed at many high-end properties, but the genuine care and attention here is something that simply cannot be bought, even at a Four Seasons. It didn't feel like "service"; it felt like being looked after by people who truly cared about my well-being. Their kindness is intuitive, warm, and deeply authentic.
A Return Journey
I stayed here once before, but only for a couple of days, and it left such an impression that I returned to Bali specifically for this resort. This time, I spent a full week here, and honestly, I could have easily stayed much longer. It is the kind of place that draws you back the moment you leave.
The Room & Views
Our room was a masterpiece of boutique design—highest quality finishes, incredibly comfortable, and perfectly curated. Waking up to the stunning views of the emerald rice fields directly from our bed was like living in a postcard. The peace and stillness of the morning, with only the sounds of nature, is something I will never forget.
Dining & Facilities
The kitchen is absolutely amazing. Every meal was a culinary highlight, bursting with fresh flavors and beautiful presentation. Then, there is the infinity pool—it is truly "picture-perfect." Floating at the edge of the water, looking out over the lush valley and rice terraces, is the ultimate form of therapy.
A True Retreat
Between the peacefulness of the resort and the surrounding nature, it is the perfect place to disconnect from the world. If you are looking for a hidden gem in Bali that offers luxury with a real heart, look no further. I'm already counting down the days until my third visit!
- Viktorija (10/5): If you want peace and beautiful nature after the hustle and bustle of the city and lots of people, I sincerely recommend - I had a really wonderful time staying in Suarapura - I enjoyed nature and the rice terraces so much. The view from my terrace was breathtaking! I could get up with the sunrise every morning. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would especially like to thank the owner Sebastiano for his hospitality and warmth. I will definitely come back here. 💚
Klare Empfehlung!
- Adam (10/5): - Quiet, great view.
- Hemant (9/5): Looking forward to visiting here again next time we are in Bali. - We were looking for a place away from the crowds and this was that place. Beautiful & Tranquil up in the hills and paddy fields - spectacular views. Staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. Added bonus was that the owner who was Italian but had lived in Bali for 40 years was always available with some relevant information about what to do and where to visit. He booked us into a restaurant for New Years Eve and even though it was very busy we were very well looked after. Nothing negative but it was away from any major towns so the taxi from the airport to hotel was almost 3 hours.
- Alena (10/5): a clean and spacious place with great food and an incredibly friendly staff and owner. highly recommended for anyone loo -
- Eglute Olsauskiene (7/5): - Location, view from the window. I chose Executive Suite Rice Terraces View. The Executive Suite doesn't even look like it, the service was disappointing. I was here for 4 days, towels were not changed, drinking water was not replenished, garbage was not taken out, it was not cleaned. There was one chair for two in the room. The description is misleading.
- Anastasia (10/5): -
- Boutko (10/5): We want to go back - Stunning property, with a marvellous view, most kind, polite and helpfull host. Great breakfast, yoga chalet to enjoy our daily practice with incredible rice terraces view. Spa treatment and massage were also very very special. Quite, relaxing and beautifull overall. 2 days are not enough and we will be back
- Menno (8/5): - The view on the rice fields is amazing. We liked the Italian food. Bathroom is nice and spacious. Friendly staff. Food menu could have more options. Price level of food and beverages is a bit more than average.
- roberto (10/5): caldamente consigliato. - stanza spaziosa e pulita.
posizione ideale per visitare l’area centrale dell’isola.
personale e proprietario gentilissimi e premurosi.
- Ami (9/5): - Schoon
- Nasir (9/5): Breathtaking views and architecture - Amazing location, great staff and amazing owner. If you like calm and quiet location with breath taking view of the rice fields, this is your place. The Japanese architecture was amazing. Everything was great. The only addition which we also recommended to the owner, is a small gym with few equipment.
- NITIN (9/5): Overall an excellent stay.. would certainly love coming back to this location. - We stayed there for five nights.... and the breakfast had only three options.. the food preparation and presentation was excellent and the service was very courteous . There were only three options to choose from.. so we ended up in having the same breakfast on all the five days. A little more variety would have been better.. but the quality was very good.
- ALEXANDRA (10/5): Excellent! - calm and great scenery! attractions around the area within short drive. food was very good!
- isabelle (9/5): -
- Elizaveta (10/5): - The view on rice terrace was amazing from our room, which was also very clean and stylish. Breakfast was also great, but would be nice to have it a bit earlier. Very peaceful place. Would stay again.
- Anjali (8/5): - The view of rice terraces was amazing, the food was great and the room was comfortable as well Location was too far from the city centre, markets, etc plus the restaurant closing time was a little early
- Miriam (8/5): -
- giorgia (10/5): STUNNING stay in the middle of the jungle with the best owner! - Our stay at this resort was absolutely perfect. The property is elegant and refined, with an incredible attention to detail, from the architecture to the interiors, everything is designed with taste and harmony. Every corner feels curated to create a serene and luxurious atmosphere.
The views and the SPA are simply stunning, adding an extra touch of magic to the experience and making every moment unforgettable.
What truly sets this place apart is Sebastiano, the owner. A special person, he offered us support 24/7 and was there even during a health emergency, showing genuine care and kindness.
This is much more than just a resort, it is a sanctuary of beauty, peace, and heartfelt hospitality. Absolutely outstanding. NOTHING!!! everything is AMAZING😭 i didn’t like that i couldn’t stay any longer ahahah
- Claudia (10/5): Soggiorno magico - La vista sulle risaie e la gentilizia dello staff
Ottima cucina
- Marco (9/5): -
Consiglio!! per me 10/10 nulla
- Anton (10/5): A place for tranquility in the middle of busy Bali - Everything was amazing: the room, the views, the facilities, the restaurant. But what truly made our stay special is the hospitality of Sebastiano and his team (Gede, Katur, Mona, the therapists). I recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for serene holidays in Bali away from the crowds.
- Bernard (10/5): A wonderful place to stay - I loved every bit of our stay. Great staff and wonderful clean accommodation. Food was excellent. I would highly recommend Nothing
- Fymphadora (9/5): Luxury room in a Japanese style with view on the rice fields but some points to mention - I absolutely loved the Japanese style of the room and the view from the balcony. The rooms are super wide!
We were lucky because we were there before the high season, so we enjoyed the swimming pool and the tranquility of the hotel all by ourselves.
You can enjoy your own rice field without any crowd. Nobody mentioned that there is a farm next to the resort. We heard pigs squealing very loudly several times while we were trying to relax by the swimming pool. It was terrible; we thought we were witnessing the animals being slaughtered. I don’t want to put a bad review for this, but I think they REALLY need to do something about it because many tourists come to this luxury place, and some, like us, are vegetarians who could feel very uncomfortable hearing those noises.
It's true that the swimming pool is really small; if there's more than 3 people, it can be hard to fully enjoy it.
The breakfast was really light. We were still hungry and had to buy something else on our way back to ubud city center while we used to eat 2 meals a day (breakfast and dinner). That would be nice to have a full breakfast set with sweet and savory food.
- William (10/5): Priceless views in the heart of spiritual Sebatu - Food is good considering the price points and amount of rooms. Room is amazing as always and unbeatable view which is always our favourite part. Seba is a lovely host and owner and always around to help and make sure we are looked after. Thank u!
Highly recommend during a water cleanse in the next door sebatu waterfall and walk back to the property through the rice fields.
- Evelina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Attchiya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Treena (8/5): Elevating breathtaking serene great food and wonderful host and staff! - Food was amazing, room was spacious, requested a double bed wasn't available- incredible views. Sebastiono was very hospitable kind and very helpful. Staff were beautiful friendly and very helpful. Unfortunate I got woken up by other guests wanting to leave at 4am . Slamming doors multiple times. Woke up tired and bit grumpy.
- Aleksandra (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stay!
- Pavle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashley (10/5): Perfect stay - Nice room overlooking the rice terrace. You can walk down into the terraces from the pool area. Rooms were spacious, great bathroom. Breakfast was great, good location only a short drive away from the main tourist area.
- Aida (9/5): Beautiful people, amazing view , nice pool and food - The hotel is located on a ricefield terrace and the view is amazing. Staff were very polite and helpful. We are so happy we chose suarapura resort. The food and breakfast was good. The view of our room was amazing. The shampoo and body wash dispenser in the shower need a little update but overall everything was clean Everything was nice no negative point
- Hendra (9/5): Superb -
- Viktoriia (10/5): Amazing panorama view - It is a very quiet and beautiful place. With comfortable rooms, clean and where every detail is thought out. The staff is very nice.
- Dmytro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aleksandra (10/5): Great Place. Amazing Staff! - View, Service All Good
- Sergei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sergey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ioana (9/5): Simplicity is beauty - The accommodation has stunning views, the room has an elegant design inspired by Japanese minimalism. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was really good. I appreciated that we could choose between local food and italian dishes. Have in mind that the accommodation is quite isolated and options are limited but it’s perfect if you want a quiet and peaceful immersive experience in the nature.
- Jan (1/5): WORST STAY IN BALI - WORST STAY IN BALI
I have been to Bali over 5 times and stayed in more than 20 hotels, and I have never had such a bad and agitated experience. The hotel is understaffed, maintenance is poor, the food is medium, and hospitality from the owner is horrible.
We booked two rooms as I was also traveling with my mother and arrived around 7 pm coming from a long drive. Upon arrival, there was only one person at the reception, and he did not seem to know that we were coming. We had to wait around 30 minutes for him to double-check the rooms without any welcome drink or anything. Once he guided us to our room, we finally got to relax. The rooms are simple, but the only thing is that it is not maintained properly with some marks on the wall, minor scratches in the furniture, etc. Coffee and tea offering is also very basic.
The restaurant closed at 9 pm, so we delivered food to the hotel. Once the food arrived, we requested the reception if they could kindly bring the food to our room. The owner of the hotel replied since there was no staff working at that time which is very unusual for a 4 star hotel and told us that he would not bring the food and that we had to go to pick it up and on top of that he requested us to move the car and park it in another spot at 9:30 pm when the staff at the reception told us that it was parked good initially. This lack of hospitality already created a bad vibe for us. We have never been treated like that in any hotel in Bali where hospitality is always excellent.
In the morning, we woke up and went to breakfast. It was very medium, even had one hair in the marmalade, and the menu does not have a lot of variety. We found a very young friendly dog in the hotel. In Bali there are a lot of street dogs and it is very usual that they go around. The dog followed us for a little bit to the hotel room. As we were reaching the room, we saw the owner with a stick.
- Jay (10/5): Lovely stay with amazing view of rice terrace. Away from the bustling of Ubud city, highly recommend to stay here if you - Quiet accommodation tucked in Tegalalang of Ubud.
Love the rice terrace view and spacious room. The swimming pool was definitely the highlight of the stay too! Nothing
- Jun (10/5): Exceptional - This stay was great! Waking up with a stunning view. The staff is one of the most friendly. Hotel has everything you need. Room is clean and spacious. The breakfast and food was delicious!
- Rebekah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebekah (10/5): A beautiful getaway ideal for recharging - Great hospitality and service - a neat self-contained oasis with onsite restaurant and spa. The hairdryer needs an upgrade. At 400w, it takes forever to dry the hair.
- Donatas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fatima (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place to relax
Beautiful views
Friendly staff
- Emily (9/5): Quiet and peaceful sojourn - A place to unwind. It is in a beautiful quiet spot in Sebatu. You will be captive as there are no F&B outside of the resort.
Room was spacious with a great view. Breakfast menu has a mix of western and local style with limited choices. Breakfast choices could be more varied.
- Stanislava (10/5): Amazing hotel - Amazing place for a peaceful holiday. Breathtaking view of rice fields and palm trees. Very kind staff . Easy to get to Ubud Nothing.
- Myroslava (10/5): Exceptional - It is a great place for privacy. Incredible view from the window. I recommend meeting the sunrise in the pool). Everything is clean, in good condition.
- Kieron (10/5): Just brilliant - Eveything
Bit difficult to find but other then that absolutely great
Suggest a local map could be sent out showing where to go, as the enterance to the road at the bottom of the hill looks like its not accessible by car Staff and views, rooms great pool fantastic!
- Yue (10/5): Exceptional -
- Piotr (10/5): Best Cast Away next to “private” rice fields - The whole stay was amazing. We loved to view. It’s quiet, away from other attractions.
The room is huge with a great view from the bed.
Hotel is in the front of rice fields without tourist.
A M A Z I N G !!
Special thanks to the staff. They care about the guest and surrounding plants.
- Lina (9/5): A hidden jem in Tegalalang - I think this place is so underrated. This is a hidden heaven on earth! The view from our room was breathtaking and the room was huge, clean and comfortable. The hotel is surrounded by green rice terraces and nature that gives jungle vibes. This is a perfect place to relax and just be. I was really sad to leave! There are a few issues with the hotel that you need to know - the most important is the location, which is isolated from any busy area. We came here after a week in Ubud so we actually enjoyed it, but you should keep that in mind. There is no even a close grocery store. This makes you dependent on the hotel's restaurant, which was not very good (and that's why the 9 star, and not 10). The restaurant has very limited food options, it's pricey and closes at 9 pm ( which is critical because after that hour you simply have nothing to do). Again, for us it was not a big of a deal.
- Aileen (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the views. Staff were very helpful when organising activities.
- Gidion (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rohit (10/5): Exceptional - We had an unforgettable stay at Suarapura Resort and Spa during our trip to Bali. Nestled in the heart of the forest, this cozy resort offers a peaceful escape with an incredible infinity pool overlooking lush forests and beautiful rice fields—an absolutely stunning view! The food was exceptional, and the customer service was top-notch. The owners, who live on the property, are incredibly warm and always around to ensure that everything is perfect for their guests. Their personal touch made our experience even more special. Highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking for relaxation and natural beauty!
- Ania (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kamil (10/5): AMAZING STAY - Really peaceful resort with amazing views. Staff very friendly and helpful, the room is spacious & clean, very comfortable bed. Nothing
- Mees (5/5): Passable - The view and style of the rooms. That's about it. The pool - needs a deep clean as it was full of mustard green algea on the walls. Not enough beds at the pool side. Floors and railings show significant deteriation.
Food - the food is overpriced for what you get. The foods we tried were blend and lacked passion, except the rendang which was of good flavour and taste but came with nothing but plain rice and 2 leaves of lettuce. The overall presentation of all foods we had, including breakfast, was lacking. We expected more for the prices they ask. For those that are staying longer than 3 days, the breakfast/dinner menu does not have enough variety. Breakfast is small and repetive. No juice as a choice, fruit platter is very small. No coffee variety, such as cappuccino (probably available but you'd have to pay)
The room was overall clean and bed comfortable enough (not the best, not the worst), but there is always a damp smell in the bathroom despite opening windows and doors.
Personnel was ok; friendly and helpful, but nothing special.
The resort is next to a pigsfarm and we could hear them from the pool which sounded as stressful screaming. Not sure if it's a farm or slaughter house...
On a last note: we were having dinner with nice and relaxing mantra music playing and suddenly the owner came in who turned off the music and turned on the tv to watch sports as if he was in his own living room. It would have been nice to ask your guests first if it's OK to watch tv and we probably would have said yes, but to come in like that we felt was an odd move.
- Laima (10/5): Exceptional - Paradise on earth. Off the beaten tourist path, quiet and authentic, yet simply stunning. One of the best places I've had the pleasure of staying at.
- Maria (9/5): We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were big and clean. The best view ever. Friendly staff. We had a wonderful stay! - We were on our honeymoon, we got a beautiful room with a beautiful view. It was decorated for our honeymoon.
The staff was very friendly and helpfully.
The breakfast was very good.
The village was quiet and traditional. Nice Infinity pool.
We had the best massage ever.
We have our clothes to the laundry and 12 hours later they weee ready. At the restaurant they didn’t understand perfect English. So one evening I got my food and my husband 20 min later. But we shared both plates and it wasn’t a big problem.
Not enough beds at the pool (no space for more).
Prices for food, drinks and massage were more expensive than average in Bali.
- Jeanine (10/5): Great stay - View from the room & pool were amazing. Breakfast was really good. We did a yoga class and the instructor was great!
- Fatma (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing rice terrace .the room was clean and biflg .
The balcony was wonderful.
If you want peace of mind ,beautifull The transport is difficult to have .only drop .
- Julius (4/5): It was livable, but not comfortable - The view, and staff was friendly There were bugs in our room, some lights did not work.
- Aynur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shashank (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emanuele (10/5): Exceptional - The property is stunning. Landscape is king. Many thanks Sebastiano and the staff for such an exceptional service during our stay. This is all you want when you think about Bali
- Juliette (7/5): A beautiful and pleasant stay and excellent view. - The scenery and view was magnificent! Very serene and peaceful. The staff was super easy to deal with and communicate with - they were very friendly and helpful. It could use some touch ups in the bathroom and the linen could be updated (there were a couple small holes because of overuse).
- Megha (7/5): Good stay to enjoy the view. Geckos outside the rooms but the rooms are clean - The views Room service didn’t change the towels, no dinner at 9:30, no room service for food, no phones in the rooms.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional staff and the food was amazing - Everything was perfect and the restaurant is the best ever!!!! Nothing
- Martijn (9/5): Awesome place to stay and relax! - Amazing room and great breakfast. Loved the pool and the views from our balcony. You only see jungle and rice fields, just like the pictures, awesome!Everything clean as can be. Staff is great as well! We immediately felt at home after some rough days climbing the bromo and Ijen.
Spa treatments were also good! The pigfarm next door made a lot of noise on one day during our stay. Not something they can do about, but something you should know.
- Gita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Milena (10/5): Exceptional - View is amazing, room was clean and nice. Spa is very bad, for that price it should be better mantained, and much better experience all together.
- Kevin (10/5): Relaxing. - Suarapura exceeded my expectations. It has it all, friendly staff, a relaxing environment, a fantastic shower, and a breathtaking view. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to relax. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay memorable.
- Igor (10/5): Exceptional - Natures paradise! We had the Campaka apartment, every time we entered it we would gasp at how good the view was! Looking out at the rice fields, jungle and the infinity pool, completely quiet and peaceful.
The sunrise from the bed has to be one od the most beautiful sights and experiences we've had.
The experience and staff are also 10/10, the food is great, apartments clean and nicely decorated. Nothing! Everything about the stay was perfect!!
Although the weather is a bit colder than what you would expect in lower parts of Bali, didn't get the chance to make use of the pool in morning or evening (mid June)

- Sylvia (10/5): A piece of heaven💚 - The location is picturesque, peaceful and the greenery from the forrest and rice paddies is calming to body mind and spirit. The staff is exceptionally attentive and genuinely welcoming.
The restaurant offers authentic Italian, Balinese and international cuisine and is highly recommendable.
The view from the infinity pool is as breathtaking as from the restaurant and the beautiful spacious and clean rooms feature a balcony for amazing sunrises.
The yoga shala and spa is an extra bonus to this resort and makes Suarapura the best place to stay for an unforgettable vacation, and only 25 minutes from Ubud.
- Gaya (8/5): Very good -
- Jimmy (9/5): Such an amazing tranquil place - for guests looking for serenity, peaceful and nature. Had a great time with the family - The small boutique hotel (13 rooms) on the hill slopes with natural surroundings - serene, peaceful with the forest n rice fields surrounding Housekeeping could be better
- Praveen (10/5): Throughly enjoyed the stay, Will visit again - View is phenomenal, wasn’t expecting that view while booking.
Food is fantastic in the restaurant, also we have few other options in a walkable distance to the resort which are absolutely great. Limited food menu
- Adriel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandy (8/5): Awesome stay with a view. - Its clean, beautiful view, away from Ubud traffic Bugs, but its expected cause its near jungle. But the staff will provide bug repellant for this.
- Vadim (9/5): Everything was great and we enjoyed our stay at the resort. - Very kind and helpful staff, delicious breakfast and awesome view
- Anastasiia (8/5): Very good - Wonderful veiw. Very quiet place. It's In the middle from all famous places to visit. Breakfast is average and portions are small. Sometimes I left from breakfast being hungry still. Then I started to ask for bigger portion.
Also It would be better to make paved road to the hotel.
Also there are always loud sounds from pig farm in the morning. But you can't hear it in your room that's good.
