He is an incredible host. The beds are a little hard and lumpy. And there is limited hot water so we had to ration :( But the cleanliness, service and location were terrific!

Everything about our experience was wonderful. The location is fantastic, the staff especially Vasia were so helpful and recommended and arranged the bookings for the best restaurants every evening. Special call out to the breakfast at Pallas which is 10/10. The stay exceeded our expectations in every way and we would highly recommend. We will be back! Nothing

The rooms are large and clean , with water stocked daily. But mostly the hosts were just incredible, so helpful with everything even lending us a little push along bike for our three year old which was a life saver !
• Sarah (10/5): - Die Zimmer sind zentral und sehr schön ausgestattet. Die Lage ist optimal, insbesondere, wenn man kein Auto gemietet hat. Meer, Restaurants, Supermarkt, Busbahnhof, Supermarkt… alles ist in nur ein paar Minuten erreichbar. Idomeneas und Vasia waren immer da, wenn wir etwas brauchten oder eine Frage hatten. Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt. Wir kommen wieder.
• LISE (8/5): Très agréable - J'ai aimé sa position au coeur du centre de la vieille ville dans une petite ruelle illuminée la nuit et charmante le jour. Il est proche des centres d'intérêts. J'ai aimé l'approche avec le personnel toujours aimable, agréable et disponible. J'ai apprécié le confort similaire à un hôtel : nettoyage fait tous les jours, changement des serviettes de bain au quotidien. J'ai moins apprécié le fait que le parking soit un peu éloigné mais il semblerait qu'en Crête c'est fréquent surtout dans les vieux centre ville historiques. J'apporterais des améliorations comme des rideaux plus occultants, au moins un grand miroir pour se voir complètement, les produits de bains locaux plus mis en évidence. Attention : il y a 1 fuite d'eau par rapport à la parois de douche.

We made a late booking (on the day) and the communication from the owner was excellent. The room and balcony were perfect, there was plenty of toiletries, towels, bottled water etc. The owner gave great info about free parking, good restaurants and cultural events that we might enjoy. Nothing!

• Peter (10/5): All in all the best place we have stayed in for years! Highly recommend. - We were in this hotel for 10 days in mid April and it was a marvellous place to stay. The hotel is situated along a side street in the centre of the bustling old town of Chania near the Cathedral. Despite being at the centre of a very busy town the hotel was extremely quiet and peaceful - the room was very carefully cleaned, well equipped, comfortable and had a nice balcony over the street.The breakfast arrangement is brilliant as you are given a voucher to use at a lovely harbour-side restaurant (Pallas), a 5 minute walk away, where the staff are warm and welcoming and the food is gorgeous. The hotel hosts were really helpful and friendly giving advice on places to eat at and visit, organising very reliable transfers from and back to the airport and arranging an excellent, reasonably priced, car hire (Alpha Group) with a pickup and drop off facility from their office that is important as non-resident traffic is not permitted in the old town. Parking is a bit tricky (get a small car!) and involves a 3-500m stroll from residential streets outside of the old town. We didn’t have a problem but the tourist season was only just winding up. Our interests included wandering the town and its attractions (dozens of restaurants, shops and a handful of great museums), archaeology, hill walking and the phenomenal spring wildflowers and the hosts gave us plenty of information and maps detailing the many places of interest in western Crete. We went to mountain gorges, high plateaux, monasteries and archaeological sites (the new Chania Archaeological museum is a must and only a 30 minute stroll along the seaside away (or a simple bus ride -use google earth). The walk down to the abandoned monastery at Moní Katholikó is fantastic (but the Rough Guide information is somewhat awry - check detail of distance and archaeology in advance) - we followed that by a swim at Stavros.

• Torsten (10/5): - Wir wurden schon vor unserer Anreise ganz herzlich begrüßt und bekamen bei Ankunft mit viel Herzlichkeit viele hilfreiche Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt. Zu unserem Zimmer gehörte die Dachterrasse mit einem unglaublich schönen Blick über die Altstadt. Die moderne, mediterran eingerichtete Wohnung ließ keine Wünsche offen. Sie liegt in einer der schönsten Seitengassen dieser wunderschönen Stadt. Viele Cafés, Tavernen, und kleine Läden befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Trotzdem ist es sehr ruhig. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder. Wir waren rundum zufrieden. 😀

• Melanie (7/5): Old town stay but know what you're getting into! - The location puts you right in the heart of the old town, which is charming — but come prepared if you're visiting around Easter or another religious period. The neighboring church held prayer with loud speakers and bells that ran until 11pm and started again at 8am, nearly continuously for several days. A tradeoff worth knowing about in advance. We were on the top floor, which had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The space is compact but functional. One quirk: the bedroom doors are glass, so if anyone is up with a light on, it illuminates the entire apartment — not ideal if your party has different sleep schedules. Breakfast was good — included in the stay and on the waterfront with generous portions. One important heads-up though: you're given a coupon with a completely different name than the actual restaurant. Look for a place that appears to be called "Nannas" (not Palace). The female owner was professional and friendly. We wanted to like this place but there were enough friction points to warrant an honest account for future guests. Communication with the owner Idomeneus was, at times, a lot. He was attentive to a fault -- we received multiple follow-up messages if we didn't respond promptly — including messages with just "?" — which felt pressuring. Some of this may be cultural or a language barrier, as there were moments where our responses seemed to be interpreted differently than intended (eg I replied "no thank you" but misunderstood). I had to set a gentle boundary mid-stay; even after checkout I received messages. Not hostile in any way — though a lot. Practically speaking, the old town location means no car or taxi access. You'll need to walk roughly 10 minutes with all your luggage — via cobblestones, may be in the rain or heat, and there is no elevator in the building. With two young children and bags in tow, we found this genuinely difficult. For families with young kids, strollers, or older travelers, this is an important factor to weigh seriously before booking. Noise was a consistent challenge throughout the stay. The windows are thin, and street noise carries well into the evening. During the religious period, church bells or loud speaker prayers ran from early morning until nearly 11pm — it made for an anything-but-restful atmosphere. One issue that stood out: there had been a storm prior to our arrival that damaged one of the shuttered windows. We were never informed. Late one evening the shutters flew open with such a loud bang that we genuinely thought something serious had happened — we spent 30 minutes trying to fix it. When we raised it, the owner's response was essentially that no other guest had complained, so it wasn't considered a problem. That felt like a missed opportunity to take responsibility. It seemed like either too much unnecessary communication or lack of communication for the important stuff.

The room was super clean and comfortable, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating! We got loads of recommendations and help from the manager! Highly recommend staying here!! Lots to eat and all very fresh Staff all very friendly and helpful, recommending places to eat and things to do It wasn't a problem for us, but be aware there are lots of stairs to climb to the rooms

Breakfast at Pallas was excellent too, overall a great experience. There are so many offers to stay in Chania, which makes it difficult to decide. I followed the excellent reviews of other guests, and it was all true and at the end the best choice I could have made. Me and my wife stayed there 4 nights/5 days and would book Hanim Boutique Hotel at any time again! Thank you very much! Nothing
• Miguel (10/5): Amazing hotel with the best people! - The most amazing and helpful staff, great location, great service, super flexible when the cleaning staff can enter the room for cleaning, clean room and everything well taken care of - the whole apartment looked almost like new, awesome terrace with stunning view, the host was so kind to provide us a baby bed and a high chair upon request. Generally, so accommodating and helpful staff and host with great communication before and during the stay The blinds let in still some light. If you like it dark, bring eye masks (like my wife did)

• Azam (10/5): Exceptional hospitality - 10/10 - I have stayed in many hotels in my life, and I must say our experience at Hanim boutique hotel was exceptional. I stayed here for 7 nights with my husband and our toddler. We came from England for a nice break and this hotel did not disappoint. The owner, Idomeneas, looked after us as if we were family. He is passionate about his job, and such a lovely and kind host. One day we were leaving for the beach for example, and he offered us beach towels and water, which we would have forgotten to take! There was not a single request we had, that he did not go above and beyond to fulfil. We felt so looked after, and every single interaction we had with staff in this hotel, was positive. All staff were friendly, warm and kind. Upon arrival, a member of staff was waiting especially just to greet us (we arrived late night). The room is gorgeous, super clean, modern, spacious enough and has all that you need (tea, coffee, fresh daily towels, slippers). The bathroom is small, but clean and modern and the shower has really good pressure. The hotel is small, with a total of 6 rooms only and no restaurant, but this makes the service very personalised and exceptional. It feels like staying with a relative. There are plenty of restaurants and places to eat all around the hotel. I really felt that Hanim boutique hotel catered to everything that a guest can need and if you need anything, the staff are more than happy to help 24/7. We would definitely stay here again, and I am very impressed by Idomeneas and the other staff too. Thicker curtains in the room, as light comes into the room early morning. This did not stop us sleeping well though.

• Aret (10/5): Hanim Boutique - perfekt für den Aufenthalt in Chania. - Hanim Boutique liegt mitten in der traumhaften Altstadt von Chania - entsprechend hoch ist der Lärmpegel unten auf der Strasse. Dafür liegt der malerische Hafen der Stadt nur wenige Minuten entfernt. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig, gut hergerichtet und sehr sauber. Hotelbesitzer Idomeneas ist sehr nett und hilft mit allem was man braucht - ob Tipps oder Restaurant-Reservierung. Wir würden sicher wieder kommen. Dieses Hotel ist perfekt für einen Kurz-Aufenthalt in Chania. Ist aber nicht geeignet für ältere Menschen, da das Gebäude über keinen Lift verfügt und die Treppen sind sehr anstrengend, vor allem mit Koffer. Ältere Menschen würden hier sicherlich Probleme haben - für alle anderen: Topp!

The third bed that was in the living room was a bit uncomfortable and the space felt a little small for 5 guests. Otherwise, everything was great!

• Theresa (10/5): Superb, relaxing and highly recommended! - The perfect location in a quiet street just a few meters from the harbour, restuarants, shops, sites, etc. Idomeneas organised a pick up and drop off from the airport, close to our accommodation where he met us, gave us a map of Chania Old Town and recommended all we needed to know. Our room was spotless, comfortable and tastefully decorated & equipped, to a high standard. Our stay was fabulous and I highly recommend Hanim Boutique Hotel...definitely book here again!

The service and attention provided from Idomeneas (the owner) is top notch. Me and my family have been traveling around Europe for the last month and clearly this is one of the best accommodations we have chosen. It definitely upgraded our experience in Chania. If you have the chance to book the top room, definitely do it!

The hotel is conveniently located in the old city, very close to harbour. Even if in the heart of the tourist area, the room was very quiet and we had no issues with noise during the day or at night. The windows were on the side of a lateral street, quiet, with nice restaurants nearby. The host recommended us where to eat and each of his recommendations were amazing. Complimentary water every day in the room, which was much appreciated. Beds extremely comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. Hotel does not have restaurant, so we were offered breakfast at one pf the restaurants in the harbour. Very tasty, plus a great view!!!

Just a heads up that the bathrooms have frosted doors but no locks.

Hygiene en comfort is ook dik in orde en de locatie in het centrum van de oude stad is fantastisch! Enige minpunt is soms het lawaai van de kerklok vlakbij, maar hier valt niet veel aan te veranderen en is geen dealbreaker.

Apesar de sabermos que não tinha elevador, não havia pessoal sempre disponível para carregar as malas por umas escadas algo perigosas. O proprietário ajudou na chegada mas já não estava quando saímos. A limpeza diária podia ser melhor. Usamos um copo no primeiro dia e ficou sem lavar até ao fim da estadia ( 5 dias). Para estacionar gratuitamente o carro era preciso alguma sorte e ficava no mínimo a 500 metros.

Vi elskede tagterrassen, hvor der var den smukkeste udsigt fra. Værten var sød og hjælpsom og gjorde alt for, at vi havde et faktastisk ophold - og det havde vi absolut! Skal vi til Chania en anden gang, kommer vi helt sikkert igen. Intet - alt var perfekt!

• Liran (9/5): מצויין - המלון נמצא במיקום מצויין במרכז העיר העתיקה במרחק הליכה של עד 10 דקות מכל הדברים. החדר מעולה עם מרפסת מאוד נחמדה מעל רחוב יפה עם מסעדות. הצוות מעולה ומאוד עזר לנו בייעוץ ובכל מה שהיינו צריכים קשה למצוא חניה באיזור של העיר העתיקה במיוחד אם מגיעים בשעות הערב.
