- Adriana (8/5): Not to bad :) - Our stay at this hotel was overall a good experience, especially considering the price. For a budget-friendly option, it definitely met most of our expectations. The location was a bit out of the way, but still manageable—not too inconvenient if you don’t mind a short drive to nearby attractions or restaurants. The room we ended up with was clean and comfortable, though the furniture felt a little outdated. Still, for the price, it was acceptable and functional. We did have a minor hiccup when we first arrived—they initially gave us a room that was already occupied. Fortunately, the front desk staff acted quickly and professionally, and we were promptly given a different room without any further issues. As for the amenities, the pool wasn’t the best, and the hot tub in particular was disappointing. It looked dirty and worn out, and it didn’t seem to be working properly. That said, we weren’t expecting luxury, so it wasn’t a dealbreaker. Overall, if you’re looking for a decent place to stay on a budget, this hotel isn’t a bad choice. Just keep your expectations reasonable, and you’ll likely have a pleasant stay.

- Rebecca (4/5): - I was disappointed with my stay at the Wingate by Wyndham on 4th Street in Lubbock. The rooms we were given had issues—first with a non-working AC, then with cleanliness—and the responses from the front desk staff were unprofessional and dismissive. Rather than offering solutions with courtesy, they showed visible frustration, laughed at the situation, and even hung up the phone during a call. Attempts to reach the manager were unsuccessful, and calls for assistance often went unanswered. This property could be a great place to stay if the management addressed these service concerns, but as it stands, the lack of professionalism and basic hospitality made the experience very unpleasant.

I honestly wonder if they have a moisture issue under the carpet which usually means mold. Overall I am happy with our stay but hope they get that remedied soon.

I wouldn’t say they were rude, but they definitely weren’t centered around hospitality like you would normally see at a hotel. The lady behind the counter had a cell phone on speaker phone with the volume on high, walking around. It was just obnoxious and couldn’t hear the guy at the front desk. Everything else was great, but that was enough for me to never go back

I was willing to pay for the night that I didn’t stay the next day. I asked for a refund for that night and they refused to refund. I always stay at the Wingate cause they’re usually a very nice hotel but I would never stay at one gate again and I will tell all my friends and relatives.

When I asked at the front desk the lady said we didn't charge you anything call you're bank and I did , they had all the charges. Hopefully I won't stay with y'all again. Also the beds look like someone had lay on them . Bad all around!!

We were on the second floor, and there was what felt like a hole in it, covered with carpet. We also had this in our room. Additionally, there was such a large gap between the door and the frame that we went out to Walmart to buy a door bar because the deadbolt was not connecting well.

I was charged for an unknown 10 dollar fee after i had left with no explaination or warning. This motel is a 70 dollar a night property at best and 1 paid 145 per night!

So if someone was using the bathroom, the closet would be open, and if someone was using the closet, the bathroom would be open. It would be great if there were separate doors for the closet and bathroom. The old man at the front desk makes unnecessary comments on the way you look(he called me a little guy, because I was 5'6''), which is kinda weird and uncalled for.

I was double charged for a room and advised at check that I would not sign bc the booking site was contacting the hotel directly. The rude man told me I needed to sign otherwise he would put as a mo show and the manager would tell me the same. I didn’t sign and spoke to a manager who advised that he misinformed me, and there was not a male manager as he referenced the night before. She apologized for everything and was her nice
- Warden (2/5): - When we walked in the air conditioning was off and it was 82° in the room. Then we tried to use the bathroom, they have one of those stupid new barn doors and it wouldn’t close so you had no privacy in the bathroom. Also, somebody thought it would be a good idea to have the toilet right next to the door so you were completely exposed to everybody else in the room. The beds were as hard as a rock and everything was really dirty especially the bathroom. The hall outside our room had not been vacuumed in a long time. We had three people staying in the room and they only gave us two towels.

- Samson (2/5): - This place has gone down hill! The room was so gross. There was a dried booger on one of the beds and the other bed had blood on the comforter. The hallways were dirty, un mopped and un vacuumed. Management or whoever seemed like they really could have cared less. The housekeeping needs to be put in check, you would think that with the lack of cleanliness that maybe they’re short handed but on the day of departure there was plenty of housekeeping. Definitely NOT worth the money!!

Soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower were empty, dirty under the sink. It was a nice room, but the cleaning staff needs more training, or more motivation. The staff upfront was friendly, polite, and very nice. I would stay there again. It’s a nice location if you have loved ones in Covenant or UMC hospitals. Lot of close eating choices. Which is the reason we stayed.

So i looked at her name tag and told her you are not the manager I will handle this with corporate office and closed my door. She banged on my door and said leave I am calling the cops. So indeed she came back with the cops said owner of property approved her kicking us out and she refused to give me a name and phone number to who I could direct myself to.

- Delina (8/5): - This was a decent place to stay for our weekend in Lubbock. We were there for a softball tournament and this hotel met our needs (clean bed, hot shower, cold a.c.) so we were pleased. The only things I'd recommend is having the bathroom sink checked as it didn't drain quickly at all, filling up while brushing our teeth or washing hands. There was a very strong chemical smell all over the main parts of the hotel (pool chemicals?) but it wasn't terrible in the room. Also with three girls using the shower, the shampoo bottle supplied was close to empty when we arrived. I realize this is complimentary so not a major complaint, but would've been nice had it been even half full. Lubbock is extremely windy and dusty so washing hair was a non-negotiable. Other than that, it was a good and comfortable stay.

- Anthony (6/5): - Nice place overall, but the two exterior entrance doors need repair. Overall was clean and good. However, on the carpet there were oily or greasy dark spots on the carpet that make my wife say something not good. Carpet needs cleaning or replacement.
- John (4/5): - Dirty, rude staff, breakfast buffet was inedible and unsanitary (overflowing trash, burnt food, dirty tables)…have stayed at this hotel several times however it has gone downhill fast! Will not be staying here again.

- 904staceyo (2/5): Theft at hotel by employee - Warning! Do not stay at this hotel! An employee cleaned our room and stole TWO laptops & my son’s wallet. He left the door open after he took it making it look like someone else could have broke in. He was the only one to enter our room, per cameras. He most likely wrapped them in the towels and put them in his cleaning cart. Cops were called, police report filed, investigation pending. Hotel says they are not responsible for their employee stealing our items. Front staff would not give names for upper management. It is not safe to stay here! This happened 6/3/25 when we came for Red Raider orientation. Tech parents…stay away!
- 171elviaz (10/5): Great stay - Made a reservation last minute and arrived close to midnight. Rudy Perez was ready to check me in and had the reservation. Rudy was very friendly and attentive during breakfast as well. Place is kept clean and the breakfast area was well stocked. Highly recommend this hotel.

- Chris (4/5): - Room was excessively hot when we arrived and the AC took a long time to catch up. Bathroom counter had not been cleaned since last guest. Handrails in bathroom were dirty and the Bathroom floor had footprint tracks as well, giving overall impression the entire bathroom was not cleaned between guests. Fitted Sheet on bed was either the wrong size or was put on incorrectly as it would not stay on the bed, making an uncomfortable night of sleep.

I made a mistake with the reservation and when I asked for help applying the charges to the correct date, the hotel franchise owner refused. I expected more from a national chain. It’s bad business. I’ll stay elsewhere in the future.

- Gary (8/5): - I try to always stay here since it has the best access to the Lubbock Airport. This trip the a/c fan in the room had a rumble to it that made it hard to get to sleep for awhile. Overall, it’s a great property at a great price

- Jonathan (6/5): Solid C- rating for "value". - If you're looking for the average hotel stay, with little frills, and ok service, this is your hotel. Check in, front desk, and the amenities are standard fare but efficient. The staff courteous and welcoming. Internet access was decent, but only after finding out the hotel was only half full. Breakfast is lackluster "continental", although eggs and sausage are the hot items. Why the average rating? Because this was a Texas Tech graduation week, this gives them the excuse to double the per night rate. For that price, no, it's not "worth" the value you get. Everybody does it, so that makes it ok. Any other time of the year, expect to pay half the rate. If you're going to charge more, give more. Start with a better breakfast, maybe a mint on the pillow for that price.
- Denzel (2/5): Extremely Dirty Rooms - We were placed in TWO dirty rooms the first room had hair on the floor and dead bugs as well as large stains on the sheets and mattress. We were then moved to another room that had food on the floor along with hair and other objects in the bed. The rooms were gross!!
