Guest Reviews
- philip (10/5): Perfetto - Bijzondere gastvrijheid! Vriendelijke mensen.
- Steven (10/5): Excellent - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Arangea. It is perfectly located for visiting Lecce, Salento, and Otranto. The calm and quiet were perfect for relaxing reading and a good night rest. Francesca's breakfasts and enthusiasm were something to look forward to upon waking. Highly recommended! It would have been nice to be able to use the swimming pool, but you can't fight nature.
- Deborah (10/5): Great little property just 6 klm outside of Lecce - Great helpful staff and the pool was amazing
- Silvia (10/5): -
- Jan (9/5): Superb - Very friendly hosts. Good location to visit Lecce but also other places. Good breakfast. Fridge in the room, good shower. The (optional) dinner was very good and at a great price for the value. The room is small and not very modern, but we knew that, and it's what justifies the price.
Better WiFi would have been nice.
- Brigid (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful time here, the family couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.
The children spoke English which was great.
The accommodation was perfect, the breakfast was lovely and the countryside was quiet and relaxing. There is absolutely nothing we could complain about.
- alinanicoara (10/5): I would definitely recommend - Amazing location, welcoming host and unbelievable delicious breakfast. Even though we stayed in extra season, we enjoyed the olive trees and orange garden. The host was very helpful, giving us information and recommendations about locations nearby.
- Nan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simeon (10/5): Orange paradise - Nice area and very friendly staff. Nice family relaxing place
Colazioni strabilianti!
- 0Henn0 (10/5): One of the best places to stay in Puglia - Pam and I stayed here for four wonderful days earlier this month and enjoyed every moment. From the time we stepped out of our car and greeted by Giusefina to the moment we bid farewell.
Located about 30 minutes drive from Lecce, this farmhouse is family run and it shows, with nothing too much trouble. Husband Gianfranco busys himself working around the farm as well as having another job.
The lodgings are comfortable and spacious. The bathroom is typically Italian with a small shower.
We booked for bed and breakfast but ate there every night. It has a local reputation for both fine food and the best pizza around. The staff are always busy each night the outside dining area was packed! They were run off their feet from opening til closing.
Locals dined in the Italian fashion, turning up around 9.00pm with their kids. The school holidays had just commenced so there were no qualms in keeping them up late.
The food ranged from simple pizzas up to tasty seafood. You could pick a menu to suit your budget.
When holidaying in Puglia be prepared to speak more Italian than you're used to on the west coast. This is where Italians go to holiday so there is some expectation here.
Also, one tip when travelling by car would be to study the roads carefully, use Google Maps and even Google Earth, as we got caught a few times with descriptions of "quaint" villages which were in fact medium density towns.
If you're looking for a quiet farm stay holiday within reach of lots of great Italian history and supremely friendly people, then this is the place to stay!
- cctgrti (10/5): "Wonderful experience" - Beautiful setting with a huge well-kept garden and orchard. The rooms are well furnished and extremely clean. A little patio area with tables and chairs outside each room is very nice for an evening drink or impromptu picnic!
Guisi, our host, was very welcoming. She went out of her way to explain everything about the rooms, offered us coffee and cakes on our arrival and recommended places to visit and local restaurants, as unfortunately, their own kitchen was closed when we stayed.
The Arangea is very well located for visits to beautiful Lecce and within easy reach of other places of interest along the very picturesque Puglian coastline.
Excellent value for money, for either bed and breakfast or half-board. We can't recommend the Arangea highly enough and would definitely stay there again on another visit to the area.
- cynthiac020979 (10/5): Fantastic holiday - Just had a wonderful experience at Agriturismo Arangea. The garden and fields around the Agriturismo are wonderful whilst the room we had was spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and healthy and most of the vegetable and fruit for dinner came from the agriturismo's own fields. Owners are very friendly. I highly recommend.
- collenr (10/5): Agriturismo Arangea is recommended for a vacation, wonderful family, close proximity to all sites of interest in sre - We enjoyed our stay of 3 nights at Agriturismo Arangea. Our room was beautiful in the gorgeous setting of an orchard. The family was so welcoming and gracious. We also got to enjoy a wonderful 4 course dinner at their restaurant. We can recommend Agriturismo Arangea for a restful and calm vacation stay, which was just what we were looking for. It is also in close proximity to all the sites of interest in the area. To be recommended.
- FrancescaPadua (8/5): Perfect location to experience the real Italy- hosts Gianfranco and Guisi wonderful. - We stayed at Arangea for two days. The hosts went out of their way to make us welcome. For us this was the true taste of Italian life which went beyond just a couple of days accommodation. Excellent value for money too.
- wilrf (10/5): Fantastic Agriturismo - My wife and I stayed at Agriturismo Arangea with our large dog for a week and had a wonderful time. If you have never stayed at an agriturismo before, they are usually small, family-run farms that have some rooms to rent out. They operate very similar to a bed-and-breakfast, but they usually offer dinner with fresh farm produce at a flat rate.
Pros:
- Great location. The agriturismo is located about 10 minutes from Lecce with easy access to several highways. It is a great location for day trips to any of the towns on the peninsula, including Ostuni, Alberobello, Gallipoli, and Otranto. The farm itself is on a quiet road and has plenty of parking.
- Friendly hosts. Gianfranco and Guisefina are both helpful and accommodating. They made us feel extremely welcome and had wonderful recommendations for activities in the area. They also went above and beyond when we had some car trouble and helped us get a rental. That is the kind of service you would never get from a larger hotel!
- Large, clean rooms. The room was very comfortable with a large bed, desk, several chairs, and plenty of wardrobe space. The bathrooms are modern and spotlessly clean. Note that the water heater is European-size, so pace yourself with the hot water!
- Pet friendly. We brought our dog (70 lbs), and she (the dog) loved it here! The agriturismo has five cats who took turns running away from or teasing her, and it was the most fun she had all vacation. The rooms are plenty large for a dog crate, too, and the entire property is enclosed so pets can play. Gianfranco and Guisefina are pet-lovers, too, so if you are looking to travel with animals, this is a great option.
- Cost. You can't beat the price! Great bargin!
- Delicious meals. Breakfast was wonderful and included yogurt, breads, cold-cuts with a sandwich press, pastries, fresh-squeezed OJ, and various jams. We ate dinner there three times in six days and enjoyed it very much.
Cons:
- There really were no cons, but like most agriturismos, this is not a luxury hotel!
Summary:
We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Puglia, and would definitely stay there again in the future.
- MathildeM38 (10/5): Great place to be! - We stayed for a week in Arangea and we really enjoyed the place. Well situated, we were able to travel (to Lecce, Gallipoli, Otranto...) and go to the beach very easily in the Salento.
Concerning the room, it was perfect : clean and functional. The breakfast was enjoyable with fresh fruits everyday, cakes, bread...
we ate once for the dinner and we were very happy about the food. it's a typical family cuisine, much better than in a restaurant!
Gianfranco and Guisefina are very kind hosts, and do everything to make us feel comfortable.
And for all this, the rate between quality and price is really reasonnable.
- kiki358Greece (8/5): Great hospitality from owners, peaceful scenario - We recently spent a week in this new agriturismo and we definately enjoyed our stay. It has opened only since last month, but the hospitality and warmth of the owners has filled eventual "gaps". The place is surrounded from the nature and is very peaceful. Also the area dedicated to children with playground is really nice, my daughter really enjoyed her stay there. Is situated in a small village outside lecce, but still really close to the center of it.
The rooms were very clean, quiet, but TV and a full body mirror were missing, but if you decide to stay in an agriturismo you propably can do without.
The only thing I would change was the breakfast, which was every day fresh fruits collected from the trees that surround the hotel like peaches and pears, and fresh cakes prepared from the owner, Mrs Giusi. All was delicious, but not everyone enjoys cakes for breakfast, something savoury or cereals would be welcomed.
Last but not least, the price was really reasonable.
