Guest Reviews
- Lacey (1/5): - Nothing It was awful? The heating wouldn’t work, it was freezing cold, we had no sleep Friday the as the noise was terrible due to the police arresting someone close by, will definitely not be returning
- Emmanuel (8/5): Cosy stay in Somerset hut - Very quiet nestled in the Somerset countryside As we arrived at night we didn’t notice little carts were provided to carry our stuff to the hut which is located on top of a steepish hill away from the car park. The back and forth was quite exhausting.
- Sara (8/5): - Nice and clean, very beautiful view. I booked the place in the last minute and caused the staff of there a bit rush to check us in but the reason was we decided to stay in Bath as we had to and found that place online available. We enjoyed a night and everything was great. Views and the decorations of the tent.
- Emma (10/5): -
- lisa (10/5): Rested - We had a great two nights here! We enjoyed fresh apples off the trees outside our accommodation. Felt very welcome at breakfast was all set up lovely for us would 100% return.
- Jordan (10/5): -
- Joss (10/5): -
- Guest (10/5): Brilliant and great value for money x - It was just what we hoped for. Quiet and in a stunning location x
- Samantha (9/5): Lovely two day break in a really peaceful location. The hut was adorable. - The little hut with the hot tub was so sweet. The bed was comfortable and although it was small, it had everything we needed. There was no access to WiFi - but that suited us ok
- Joss (10/5): - Fantastic location and one of the most welcoming a friendly places I have stayed. The peace and tranquility is exactly what I was looking for, and I will definitely be coming again soon! Everything was absolutely perfect, there is literally nothing more I could have asked for during my stay.
- tracy (10/5): What a great stay - Beautiful settings
- Anne-marie (10/5): - The yurt was stunning, cosy so clean it had everything we needed ❤️ and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud ☁️ I had thr best nughts sleep uve had in a long time.
The shower 🚿 was powerful heated up in seconds, they provided all I needed for a shower as well.
The owner was an amazing lady so friendly, couldn't help enough and jn the evening she chatted with me and another customer but it was like I'd known her for years and we put the world to rights! Bless her she even listened to me download and was just so sweet. Nothing it was exactly what I wanted.
- Linda (8/5): - Quite a steep walk up a gravel path to access the yurt but trolleys are provided if needed. External bathroom and shower were nice and warm and good supply of hot water. Kitchen had a 2 gas ring stove and small grill but well supplied with equipment. Fire pit was tiny for our group but asked the owners who found a larger one for us.
- Sv (9/5): Lovely find - Well set up inside the yurt. Everything as described. Petra very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Bit noisy in the evening but nothing to do with the venue.
- Gareth (10/5): - Lovely location, we only stayed for one night but it was great too sit outside with the fantastic views. Very helpful and friendly owner. Nothing
- Marcus (7/5): Excellent yurt stay with good facilities in the tent but don’t count on the inn for dinner/drinks as it’s it open en - The yurt was fantastic with everything you would need for a glamping experience and beautiful views. Contact from the host was lacking, advertised with bar and restaurant but this is only open at very limited times and only if you pre-book and want available on our first night so we had to drive to Frome for dinner. Not super suitable for young children due to the steep hill to get up to the tent.
- Rich (10/5): - Lovey place! We stayed in the Hut. Hot tub was great!
- Amy (10/5): Simply magical family glamping experience, no comforts spared! - Literally everything you could need included, beautiful location, quiet, clean and a really special experience. Breakfast was beautiful and the host lovely! We will be back. Liked it all, ALOT!
- Terry (10/5): Excellent property and host. Will be definitely returning - Excellent facilities, very peaceful best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time. BBQ outside. Can’t fault the property. 10 out of 10 Nothing
- Guido (9/5): - Super mooie locatie op heuvel met mooi uitzicht en mooie omgeving. Yurt had alle voorzieningen. Niets
- Adam (9/5): Superb - Friendly and peaceful, beautiful scenary, thoughtful staff and the most characterful little shepherd's hut and best placed hot tub. Loved Shower was tricky. But somehow added to the charm.
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional - Its own little grounds, picturesque, quiet, perfect place for couples Nothing
- Svetlana (6/5): Good experience - The stay was good overall but there was no bedding on one of the beds and contacting the owners was basically impossible. The price is too high in my opinion. Folding bed was not comfortable.
- Helen (10/5): Loved it.My grandson that you could run around the back and shout hello through the little window. Also lovely to have t - The yurt was magical and our grandson aged 2 loved the fairy lights It was literally up a hill and was a bit of a challenge but the view made it worth while.
- Jovanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Crystal (10/5): Exceptional - Glamping on the hill is a truly special place! It is set within a stunning location. Everything you could need for glamping is there, and they go out their way to make sure you are comfortable and have a fabulous time. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Madrista (10/5): We had a perfect stay - Location is great Linen emits upleasant smell
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - The whole process was amazing, first time glamping, wow, it had everything you should need. Beautiful clean site, beautiful clean accommodation, wonderful clean facilities that was your own, would highly recommend to everyone.
So peaceful and quiet. Nothing I liked it all
- Claire (9/5): Glamping weekend - The hut was spacious for a hut, well set out, and extremely clean. Check-in was easy, and we were made to feel very welcome.
We enjoyed drinks and dinner in the Vobster Inn on site.
The hut had everything that we needed. The only downside was that the outside chairs were very small and a little uncomfortable.
Also, there was no phone signal and very little WiFi. This meant I couldn't check in on my elderly family as I normally do without going into the Inn
- Anonymous (10/5): Can't wait to return - We had a fantastic stay at Glamping on the Hill in a Shepards Hut, wish we could have stayed longer.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Lovely yurt in beautiful setting - Beautiful setting, really cosy and comfortable yurt and good facilities with hot shower

- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect size and set up for our stay xx
- Shorey (10/5): Fantastic tranquil stay - Amazing stay in pippin the hut. Can’t fault it!
- Josie (10/5): Lovely stay - Absolutely beautiful place I came with my four children and there was plenty of room! The only down side is I didn't stay for longer.
- Kieran (9/5): Superb -
- Glynn (10/5): Very relaxing and an enjoyable stay. Quiet environment to spend time in the hot tub and enjoy the view. - Very spacious garden area, nice size hot tub. Shepards hut was very cozy and warm.

The hosts are very friendly and so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble.
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hodges (10/5): Relaxing stay in 5 star Shepard's hut - The peace & tranquility. We stayed in the Pippin hut, clean & cosy with a log burner & a spa pool ( which was the perfect temperature and very relaxing.. Lovely enclosed garden so our dog Marley could have a wander. Peta was very helpful via email prior to our arrival. Logs were left as requested ( small charge of £10,which we were happy to pay) and it was easy self check in/ out. Staff were about if we needed anything but they were very discreet. It was nice to know we could find someone if there has been a problem.
Highly recommend. Set in a lovely peaceful location, surrounded by countryside & birdsong. There was even chickens! ☺️ Thankyou Peta
Kind regards
Chris & Natalie Everything was perfect! 💕
- Evie (10/5): Amazing, relaxing and so welcoming and friendly - it felt like you were worlds away from normal life but it was only 10 minutes from the closest town i have no complaints about any part of the property
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in one of the yurts there are 2. The check in instructions were very clear. The yurt was cosy especially when we lit the fire (wood provided). We had a great nights sleep.
- Rashid (7/5): Comfortable - It was all good apart from the reception issue which you can’t do anything about probably wifi Change the hot tip to an electric one please log fire is too complicated
- Sibin (6/5): Pleasant - Tried to contact staff through mail and phone but didn’t respond
- Jon (2/5): Not happy - Things to do around area The cusions smell of bad body odur
The hot tub took a day and half to heat up
Had a missing pillow case
The plates and dishes were dirty
Not enough logs supplied for 2 days
The shower took ages to heat up
They came banging on door beforecwe was supoosed to leave asking how long we would be.
A drill and a knife left on pathway
- Matilde (8/5): Very good -
- Adam (10/5): A magical and cosy weekend in a beautiful yurt, with thoughtful hosts, and a peaceful setting - We had a wonderful stay at this glamping site, celebrating a friend’s birthday. Despite the drizzly and cold February weather, the yurt was incredibly cosy, with the wood-burning stove keeping us warm throughout our stay—something my partner had been a little concerned about beforehand. The hosts had thoughtfully provided a generous supply of firewood, ensuring we stayed comfortable. The bathroom facilities were spotless, bright, and warm, which made all the difference. Waking up to the gentle clucking of chickens and the rhythmic tapping of a woodpecker added to the sense of escape. The hosts were attentive and had thought of everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. A truly magical weekend away!
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Charlie (10/5): Exceptional - A real beautiful stay. We really enjoyed it and would most definitely recommend to anyone!
- Simon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Crystal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philipps (10/5): Lovely cozy spot for a couples weekend:) - Amazing hut, with everything that you could need. Perfect for a relaxing weekend away from everything. The perfect cozy spot. Nothing!
- Ganna (10/5): Very recommended - Just amazing! The spot is beautiful with a great view. So many cute details: you take your key in a special little house, on the way up you see little funny chickens, the cabin has small lights so it looks charming at night, etc, etc... Loved it!
It's well equipped inside. Bed is spacious. The bathroom is small but it's comfy. We used a heater inside. Helps a lot.
The interior is authentic and DIY but very pretty. Everything is made with love!
There's a bbq place as well.
We're there alone so it was quite and nice. But there're 2 big tents nearby. If there're families with kids it could be quite noisy as there're close to the cabin.
I'd be happy to come back
- Julie (10/5): - The place was clean, everything needed was supplied a very nice location
- E2150 (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay here! Sadly we could only stay for one night but we’d definitely book to stay again, and have already recommended it to our family/friends. We stayed in one of the huts which was beautifully decorated with everything you need, and lovely and warm. The location was beautiful and peaceful. We had some tapas at the pub in the evening, which was delicious. The hosts were beyond friendly, we chatted to Peta throughout the evening and she made us feel so welcome and at home. Thank you so much☺️
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chileen (10/5): Exceptional - The yurt we stayed in was clean and very well equipped. Loved the clean shower at the back of the yurt. The hot tub wasn't on at arrival and took long to heat up, and we would have wanted more wood.
- Tara (10/5): Blissfull, nice to be away from everything - Beautiful property, very cute and quiet Nothing it was perfect
- Danthemanc (7/5): Good -
- Helen (10/5): Excellent stay couldn't ask for more - The host was lovely and very accommodating. Nothing we had a lovely stay
- Imogen (10/5): One night getaway - The hut was really cosy and comfortable, the location stunning and the host very friendly and accommodating
- Mateusz (9/5): Superb - Great location, atmosphere and fantastic customer service! Peta has been very accommodating and reasonable in regards to check-in and check-out times!
- Gabriela (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing break - Everything !
so accomodating, lovely hot showers.
it was cold but the heater was great.
beautiful touches and spotlessly clean ! nothing !
- Ellie (9/5): Cosy and beautiful. - We stayed in the Daisy yurt at the top of the hill. It was very comfortable, cosy and had a great view. Location is great and close to Longleat, Bath, Glastonbury and Street.
- Karolina (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and quiet location, it’s well equipped and everything was really clean. Great place to relax in the nature Everything was great
- Sally (9/5): Superb - Lovely location close to Longleat and Cheddar gorge. Very comfortable and clean. Hosts were happy to help with every issue and friendly. Would definitely stay again.. I didn't mind but my daughter missed having Wi-Fi.
- Kim (10/5): - It was chosen primarily because it was closest to family we were visiting for a few days, but also the photos of the accommodation looked fun and location beautiful.
We stayed in Shawn, at the very top of a very steep hill, for us townies was the difficult part lol
Shawn was very comfortable, small kitchen area, toilet and shower and lovely small decking area with bbq and views!
Although we didn’t meet any staff communication was very clear via emails and website.
Thoroughly recommend 👍
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful space in lovely quiet location .
- Luciano (8/5): Positive and worth doing it again - The decoration was beautiful Hard to get to the top with suitcases
- Laurence (9/5): Superb - Location at top of hill gave lovely view across the valley and was quiet and peaceful great after a busy day. N/a
- Rebecca (10/5): Excellent - Fantastic yurt. We all loved it. It was perfect for our few days away.
Amazing facilities Nothing
- Karl (10/5): - Glamping on the hill was an excellent stay! Peta the owner was very friendly and helpful! Definitely a place to stay if you enjoy the outdoors and walking. We had amazing views from our Shepard’s hut. Would recommend!
Many thanks
- Jen (10/5): Lovely yurt and fantastic experience - would recommend! - We had a lovely stay in a yurt - was a bit of an adventure for the kids and much nicer experience than basic camping! The beds were really comfy and shower facilities were definitely better than we had anticipated!
A note on the hill - other reviews griping about this are just unreasonable and daft. The hill does have some steep-ish patches but it’s literally only 100m. It’s nothing. The owners are really helpful, giving you easy access to keys and a little trolley thing so it’s easy to bring things up and down.
All in all a lovely stay on a great area with plenty to do.
- Toni (9/5): Superb -
- Honeyman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (10/5): Wonderful! - Location was beautiful and peaceful, really relaxing and comfortable, had everything you needed there. Nothing! Me and boyfriend were perfectly happy and satisfied.
- Claire (6/5): Pleasant - The shepherds hut itself was cute, bed comfortable. The staff were very absent, even when we called the number there was no answer and no call back as we requested. They finally got back to us when we had made other arrangements. The general upkeep of the hut was pretty poor. The fencing around it and weeds needed some TLC, the hinge on the door was broken. There was a BBQ and wood burner and not even complimentary wood or coals. States in the facilities included, wine or bubbles... There was neither. We just did not feel well looked after. Needs some attention to detail.
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Marie (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- josie (8/5): - Staying in Pippin lodge was magical just the right size for my daughter and I. It was lovely having the private garden , the hot tub and the bbq. Coal and wood were generously provided. It was peaceful and watching the sun go down in the hot tub was wonderful. Bats flitting anout and owls hooting . The owners kindly lit it for us too as we mixed up our dates of arrival . My only thing for consideration is that Vobster inn isn’t actually properly open as such . Although you can order food there . The hut and garden were very special however and immaculately kept
I Really would recommend . Frome has a nice vibe too . Very small but quant town with nice cafe and unique shops.
- Emma (9/5): Perfect little stay in a Sheppard hut - Quiet and out of a town. Cute little guy with everything we needed for our night away and even a resident cat patrolling the area to make sure we were safe 🤣🤣 None.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fun, comfortable & great for families - Easy to locate, rural with great views, spacious & clean, host was fantastic & catered to every need Nothing negative
- Theresa (10/5): Perfect peaceful getaway - Hut was clean and welcoming. Everything you needed on hand. Comfortable and relaxing. Hot tub was perfect.
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorrae (10/5): Amazing place - The yurts were amazing the hosts were amazing can not fault the experiance from the climb up the hill to the amazing meal and breakfast at the vobster inn
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steph (9/5): Superb - The hut was beautiful, so comfy and clean! Absolutely gorgeous! Took us a while to figure out heating the hot tub...but the next night it was much easier and so warm!!
- Paul (10/5): Well equipped and cosy. - We had a lovely overnight stay here, we had everything we needed and slept really well. The accommodation was perfect and really cosy. The hot tub took a long time to heat up but once ready was a great way to unwind after a long journey.
- Michelle (8/5): Cute hut - Quiet location with a lovely view. Well equipped for a short stay.
Good value. Dragging your stuff up a steep hill in a trolley.
Bathroom tiny, no room to dry yourself after a shower.
Bed very small and hard
- Marilyn (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful little shepherd's hut with everything needed.cute little cottage feel while sitting in private garden. Hot tub was perfect easy to use. Peaceful location with no disturbances. Very relaxing weekend will be returning. Only thing I can say is the sensored spotlight was a little too sensitive while sat at the firepit trying to look at the night sky but didn't look to see if it could be turned off.
- Heather (10/5): Beautiful experience - The facilities were great! You get a barbecue, private toilet and shower, everything you need is provided! Flooring of yurt is painful on feet if you aren’t wearing shoes/slippers. However they have put a lot of rugs down so it’s not too much of an issue
- Lex (8/5): Romantic Cabin getaway - Hot tub, animals, pub on site. Chicken feed, fairy lights, bedding, green house Temperamental hot water in the shower
