- Tania (3/5): Elm moved me to a Room with Spiders. - No Breakfast at the Elm, was the preferred location that was why I booked at the Elm. With 24Hours to go,, the Elm cancelled my room, due to the leaking. plumbing Instead of moving me to another room, which when I went past the elm there were cars in the car park. The moved me to another hotel to the other side of town Eaglehawk. I needed to be in Golden Square, so the move was not suitable. I would not book at the Elm again. The room that I had in Eaglehawk had spiders in the shower curtain.

- Julie (7/5): comfortable once check in issue was sorted - comfortable rooms, good facitlies That I couldn't check in as Booking.com and the motel had some sort of miscommunication (even though I received emails and txt message confirming my booking with a reservation and booking number. I could not book in and had to call management, This is a motel that has 24 hour check in. Management did their best to sort this out in a timely manner, but it took longer than expected and there was a language barrier so I am still not 100% sure what the actual problem was.

The strong cigarette smell in a queen size room ordered, called the property , rearranged in a double bed with my partner (practically downsized) and smoke alarm was removed prior to coming . Strong marijuana smell from the nearby room and other customers under obvious drugs

We had to ask for clean towels each day and one day the lady refused us until the man gave them to us

- Geoffrey (10/5): Great value - While I paid for just a motel room for some reason I was upgraded into what would be considered a serviced apartment in a house that is attached to the property. It was very spacious, had a full sized kitchen and a private parking space.

Responsive staff- fire alarm making an annoying noise as if the battery needed replacing which the staff did as soon as I reported the issue. The staff changed thw bed linen during our stay free of charge when my son had wet the bed. Nothing- it was a great, affordable, clean stay

- Keith (9/5): Very comfortable stay in a convenient location. - Very conveniently located for a visit to Bendigo. The room was clean and facilities have been refreshed and freshly painted. The self check-in and digital key is a very good concept. Can’t be helped but on this occasion, we had a noisy neighbour, a couple who were arguing and swearing late into the night. At some point we were wondering whether to notify the management. Perhaps the manages need to have a noise policy.

- Jeremy (3/5): Please read our review. - Check-in was fully automated. There didn't seem to be any visible office. Stepping out of our car, it smelled like a giant ashtray. Large tin filled with stubs outside every door. Room was clean, single couches were old and disgusting looking. We definitely wouldn't sit on them. Bed was nice. It felt like it had been turned into a halfway house. My wife had a very bad experience with a drug-affected woman pretending to be a maid, knocking on the door asking if she needed any towels whilst I was on a tour. On the other side was an equally affected male with whom she had yelling and swearing at. She was so scared we moved out and stayed at a much nicer 'hotel' near the hospital. We won't stay there again. Looking at the reviews, maybe we were just unlucky.

As the venue has no onsite staff I could not ask for a valid invoice. The one provided by the website was a copy of the document created by the onsite receipt printer.

- Angela (6/5): No drama but could have been better. - We did not stay at the Elm Motel, they contacted me to advise of a plumbing problem and redirected us to The Bendigo Motor Inn. It was not a problem to us at all and we were grateful for the Elm Motel managed to find us an alternative location. Reception was very pleasant and helpful however the room was in need of a thorough clean. A spacious room but very tired.

- Leila (6/5): - Comfy bed No reception area, self serve kiosk. We had trouble getting in. Someone came to help, gave us a code for the room which didn't work, then we were given a fob for the door. We paid for a room with a queen bed, told the room we got had a queen and a single, but because we hadn't paid for it, don't use the single bed. There was a sign to clean our own dishes, but the thing in the bathroom to wash dishes was horrible, so we didn't use any crockery or cutlery. The kettle was also a bit gross. Only a blind on the window, no curtain, so if u had the blind up for daylight, people could see right into the room. Felt like the place was under renovation, when finished I'm sure it will be great
