Guest Reviews

- Aisling (10/5): Great area to explore and this property has everything you need. It’s cosy, clean and comfortable with easy access to th - Brilliant location, lots to do in the town. Great for a stop over stay while travelling further north to break the journey up. Being pet friendly is great too.

- Jonathan (10/5): -
- Kemahan (10/5): Great location - Lovely cottage, great location and well equipped. Very clean and comfortable beds.parkibg on site too. Wasn't anything not to like

- Lorna (9/5): A relaxing stay in a gorgeous house with lovely views, location and character. - This is a charming house. A lot of thought has gone in to providing a comfortable and well equipped holiday home. The location is quiet with wonderful views yet very close to the town centre. The house was very cosy, clean and the hosts had kindly left some welcome gifts on arrival. The garden is lovely and the garden studio a welcome addition.
- Karen (10/5): Very enjoyable start to the new year - It’s a lovely homely property. Very comfortable and near amenities like shops and restaurants and enclosed garden. Beautiful scenery. Nothing
- Christine (9/5): Cosy well equipped cottage for a Pitlochry stay. - For an end of November stay, the house was toasty warm, in fact we had to turn radiators down. Nice to find a pint of milk and welcome snacks on arrival.
Well equipped - the dishwasher was appreciated, the WiFi worked - and well placed hooks and rails made it feel like a house that had really been lived in. The kitchen had scissors and baking trays - I've stayed in many holiday cottages that lacked these basic items.
We would book again, especially in the summer to take advantage of the patio and summerhouse. You could walk down into Pitlochry easily, if you were prepared for the walk back up the big hill (and in our case -2 weather). Only bathroom is downstairs - but we knew that when we booked. The property was comfortable for 3, but might have been a bit tight for 4 adults. Driveway parking is narrow and tricky on a dark rainy winter night. Maybe move the bins to the other side to allow full width of gate to be opened?
- Shona (9/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): - The cottage was cosy, clean and very well equipped. Beautiful location.
- Stacey (10/5): Lovely cottage in a perfect location - There was nothing not to like Nothing
- Anne (9/5): - Very cute little cottage Didn't realize it was such a a hike up hill from the main street. Only suggestion would be to have some extra blankets in the cupboard as my daughter was quite cold and the doona's on the bed are very thin.
- David (8/5): Excellent property and would not hesitate to rebook. - Well presented and equipped Slight issue with hill location but not the properties fault. Hairdryer in twin room appeared to be out of order.
- John (9/5): -
- Robert (9/5): Trevligt - Rymligt och trevligt med tomt Något högt pris
- Rod (9/5): Cute self-contained cottage in Pitlochry that was well appointed and provided everything we needed. - Such a cute self-contained 2up and 2 down cottage. There was a lovely welcome pack to help get us started and the garden was a delight to sit in and to dine in. Very well appointed and the host could not have been more obliging.
- VickiB (9/5): - Charming
Everything you might need had been thought of
Walking distance to town Leaving
- Gregory (8/5): Pretty, but uncomfortable. - It was pretty, and fairly quiet. The bedroom windows had blackout shades or curtains. Kitchen was efficient. Bathroom was clean, but very hard to use. Laundry on property, but in building next door. Pretty garden. Owner nice. The bathroom is on the first floor, the bedrooms on the second. Very inconvenient at night if you’ve injured your leg. Stairs very steep and so narrow that luggage is difficult. Beds are uncomfortable. Thermostat limited so we froze one night. I’d be surprised if the stair rail was up to code, it was flimsy.
- Sandra (8/5): -
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Penny (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about this property was great, clean, comfortable. Lots of thoughtful home comforts available which made the stay extra special. Great communication with the hosts who were so friendly and helpful to deal with. Location was fantastic and off street parking was a bonus too. If we are every back in Pitlochry we will be booking the Coach house again. Thank you so much !

- Karen (8/5): Very cute and well equipped house in beautiful location. - Cute. Well thought out and very well equipped. Comfy beds in light airy bedrooms.Lovely location with great outdoor space. Summer house is lovely place to sit out chill, admire the views and listen to the birdsong. Bathroom was small and cramped.
- Boyd (10/5): Wonderful stay at Old Coach House in Pitlochry and sad to be leaving after such a lovely couple of days. - Everything. Lovely location. Cottage has everything you need. Garden area great for the dogs as it is secure. Wee touches make it really special. Nothing - everything was perfect . We will book again.
- Joseph (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Location was perfect. House was adorable, clean and comfortable. Having the cereal and snacks there ready for us was a wonderful surprise. Best accommodation we have had in 4 weeks of travel.
- Amanda (8/5): Good location but disappointing. - Wonderful location. Cottage was dark inside. Sofa wasn't comfortable. Double bed very firm and pillows were very poor. We paid a higher rate because it was Easter and definitely didn't feel it was value for money. Needs updating. Garden NOT SECURE for dogs.
- Emily (10/5): You won't be disappointed - The Old Coach House was perfect. It was a cosy, clean, well equipped, and well thought out accommodation with all you need plus unexpected extras too. We wished we could have stayed longer, it was so relaxing. The area was perfect with lots to do too.
- Mary (8/5): Very good -
- Eleanor (8/5): A lovely relaxing break in a delightful little cottage with everything you needed to enjoy your stay - We were surprised and pleased at the welcome
box; milk in fridge, snacks etc and breakfast
cereals left for us. Nice Scottish Fine Soap items in bathroom.
Kitchen was well ell equipped, the parking w as secure and spacious, the house was cosy and the garden was suitable and secure for dogs.
We had the owners contact number if we had a problem. We hope to return. The heating timing seemed a little unpredictable and it became quite warm.
The outdoor general rubbish bin was almost overflowing .
- Darren (8/5): Good little cottage and well equipped in a good location -
- Anthony (9/5): Superb - The coach house was a delight. Great location and the hosts even made sure they cut branches away from the drive so we could get our van on the drive. Really nice place in a lovely part of the world.
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (10/5): Great hosts and great house - Lovely house with a great location. Loads of space for the dog. Will definitely be back!
- Karen (10/5): Superb end to Christmas holidays - Lovely little cottage we have visited many times
So peaceful yet a short walk to town for shops or restaurants Nothing
- Linzi (8/5): Nice relaxing stay - We had a lovely stay at the Coach House all the little touches were very much appreciated. Shortbread, lemonade, milk in the fridge tea bags etc. on arrival. The cottage has everything you need. Bathroom, kitchen, bedding and towels all very clean. It has a lovely wee courtyard which I think will be lovely in the summer. Thank you once again for a lovely stay. We couldnt get the dishwasher to work.
- Fiona (9/5): Superb - All good A little further from centre than would have liked all up hill in winter summer would be ok we like to walk don't like to take the car to center
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Location was perfect for a weekend in Pitlochry. Accommodation was warm and comfortable and had everything you would need for a weekend break Nothing
- June (9/5): We had a lovely stay in what is a very comfortable cottage. - Loved the cleanliness and the little touches like treats left for us and soap, shampoo, towels and facecloths. Bed was a bit firm for us.
- Hugh (9/5): Homely, super clean, great 9garden and summerhouse. - Peaceful, relaxing location yet easy access to centre of Pitlochry. Comfortable, cosy home from home.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (10/5): Enjoyed our short visit to Pitlochry, hosts very helpful. - Cottage was located in nice area, short walk from town. Ideal for three adults and two dogs.
Cottage had everything we needed for our stay, very homely. Everything was good, nothing negative to say.
- Jean (9/5): Fabulous find in the lovely town of Pitlochry - The Old Coach House is a lovely small property, with ample off street parking for two cars and a pretty garden, which the dog loved. There is a nice seating area leading off French doors from the lounge dining area. The kitchen is small but really well equipped and an extra freezer in the outhouse/utility room is an added bonus. The stairs leading to the two pretty bedrooms is narrow and steep and as we were a party of 4 ladies in their 70s we thought it might be a problem but soon found using both banister made it much easier than expected. We were warm and comfortable in the house and really enjoyed our stay. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. However we couldn’t get the standard lamp in the living room to work and we would have appreciated a throw or blanket otherwise everything was very good.
- Ronald (8/5): Very good - Well equipped with NetFlix and great views , nice local town , Nothing I didn't like , but there is only one bathroom/toilet which is down stairs, stairs are also a tad steep and creaky (as you would expect from a property of this age), Property is at the top of a steep hill from Pitlochry village.
- Judith (8/5): A beautiful location near amenities. - The location was so pretty, quiet and relaxing, but still within walking distance of shops and restaurants etc. This was great for me, being the only driver. It meant I could relax and have a glass of wine with dinner! There are also a good variety of walks that can be accessed from the village and the property. All round its a great place for a relaxing short break. Another lamp in the living room would be good.
- Linda (10/5): A lovely weekend with good friends - Well equipped, comfortable and unique like living in a miniature home. Nothing
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bronwen (7/5): Would stay again. - Good location near to walking routes and excellent hostelries. Laundry facilities very good. Bathroom a little cramped. Separate loo always useful with 1+ occupancy.
- Philip (9/5): Stay in Pitlochry - Lovely clean property with comfortable beds and a great location Nothing
- Margaret (10/5): Fabulous weekend - It was just gorgeous warm and cosy beautiful gardens and the views were stunning Liked every thing
- Ryan (9/5): a great location - very peaceful with great views and a lovely patio - a great location only ten minutes walk from the main street - but far enough away to be peaceful, with great views from the garden. the patio area is a great place to have breakfast on a sunny morning
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Very quaint in a good location. Washer and dryer were nice. Our group were enamored with this small house. Stairs. Toilet downstairs and bedroom upstairs with slteep stairs made mightly bathroom trips an adventure for a 75 year old.
- Joe (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (9/5): We all enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return. - Lovely clean and comfortable house in a lovely setting not too far from the town centre. Hosts had kindly left fresh milk, tea, coffee. Sugar, cereal and a small welcome pack. Loved the Summer house. Bathroom door was very stiff to open.
- Sally (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (5/5): Passable - Place was spotless. Lovely welcome pack. Views and garden lovely. Very small living area ..too dark and cramped. Bed creaked every time you moved.
- Ailsa (10/5): You highly recommend - Was immaculate, cosy. Everything we needed. Views N/A
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional - What a fantastic little cottage and grounds, very quaint and exceptionalally clean. Ideally situated 5 mins from town centre. Though it might be difficult for anyone with mobility problems as several steep short hills to cottage from main street. Bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable, though again might cause a problem for access to them as you have to climb narrow staircase to both. We loved it and will definitely be returning soon.
- Graham (10/5): Simple , I’d definitely return - Everything , perfect
- Karen (10/5): Fifth time we have used this little cottage. Always look forward to our visit everything is nearby and love the views - Lovely little cottage with spectacular views
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (9/5): Superb - Great facilities, absolutely lovely peaceful setting. Great location for all amenities Nothing not to like about this setting or the facilities
- Susan (10/5): absolutely fabulous - The location was great would love to stay here in the summer as the garden was fabulous. Everything was great one tiny tiny thing the bathroom door kept sticking but didnt make a difference to the stay nothing
- Barbara (10/5): We had a lovely time, went to the enchanted forest. The house was lovely, would highly recommend it. - It was perfect
- Sharron (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Exceptional - A cosy little cottage done up nicely, which made it very comfortable for the four of us. The house had everything and more for our short stay. The location was a very short walk into town and had secure off-road parking. The lounge seating was a bit smallish for four.
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our little cottage!!! Very comfortable with excellent instructions all around and easy to understand. We enjoyed the views and the amenities. The shower was nice and hot and the beds comfortable. If we ever make it back to Scotland we'll for sure stay here and will recommend to friends and family. Pitlochry is a marvelous place!
- John (10/5): Beautiful Carriage house with all amenities - The location was perfect, quiet, and comfortable for sleeping, with a short 10min walk to all amenities, restaurants, shops & parks. Walking to the central part of town might be difficult for some due to the hilly area. Parking was perfect with a gate to the driveway. The carriage house has everything needed for short or long stays, I would definitely stay again when I'm in the area. No issues
- Trefor (8/5): Nice relaxing place in a lovely Town - Nice quiet spot near centre of town.
Comfy, modernised, Netflix etc Nothing.
The place was an old building but a little creaky - but then so am I!
- Iain (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb - Fabulous cottage with secure garden for our dog. Nothing negative to say.
- Kath (9/5): beautiful gorgeous wish we could stay again! - loved the welcome treats, loved the facilities, great location, liked the no key access things so easy to use, bath tub a bit dodgy to get out off lol and need a sign on the stone wall on Knockard road - we drove past it several times even though the GPS was saying you have reached your destination (we were very tired when we arrived also hahaha)
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Rosemary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Very well equipped, cosy and good location
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - Location and home furnishings were excellent. The kitchen was well equipped! The laundry room was nice to have. It was very well lit and safe. The car park and gate was very convenient. Communication and access with host upon arrival was difficult. We had initial contact when renting and did receive a house code to access the property, but we emailed and tried to call to ask a few questions a day before and day of arrival and received no answer to our emails/calls. Thankfully, we managed on our own. The instructions were complete by the host which was nice, but a bit discomforting that we could not contact them before we arrived. However, we did find everything wonderfully equipped and explained inside the property. It would also have been nice to have one instruction sheet about everything needed to check out. We found instructions about the garbage and kitchen in the book and then happened upon the laundry bag instruction tag (which could have been missed - this should be included on a “list of things to do for check out”. We could not find the check out time, we may have missed it somewhere.
- Sean (10/5): Fantastic cottage - Best accommodation I stayed in during a week’s motorbike tour of Scotland.
I beautiful cottage and short distance from good pubs / restaurants.
- Nicola (7/5): Good - Lovely little cottage, great location. Clean, tidy and good facilities. Great views Bed was a little small for my 6ft 3 husband
- Bryce (7/5): Nice house , not suitable for all . Upgrade website description . - The property is very clean and well equipped . An area of the garden is fenced which was excellent for our dog . The lounge is snug and the house is very well heated . 1) The bathroom is on the ground floor . Both bedrooms are up a steep flight of stairs and anyone with mobility issues and having to access the toilet during the night needs to take care . This may also apply for young children .
This was not indicated on the website .
2) The house is situated up a very steep hill above Pitlochry . Yes it is only 10 minutes downhill to the Main Street but again anyone with mobility / fitness issues are going to struggle to return on foot .
A lovely house but more info needed on the website to address the above noted issues for the older visitors and also perhaps for the families with very young children .
It is not for everyone.
- Brenda (9/5): Superb - The surroundings and the cottage was well equipped with everything we needed I didn't like the downstairs bathroom. I have quite bad arthritis in my knees so found the stairs a little tough
- Nickie (10/5): A very comfortable little cottage which was perfect for our stay with our Flat Coated Retriever. - Very clean and comfortable. Perfect for the dog. Very friendly hosts who left lots of goodies! Downstairs bathroom- a minor niggle!
- Wood (10/5): Beautiful. - This is an absolute gem of a house. The views, the tranquility. The kids loved their beds and the stairs. I can't even pick what I loved the best as everything was exceptional and we all really want to come back for longer than two nights.
- Charles (9/5): Wonderful cottage of character. - Great character, perfect location, very quiet, easy walk to town, good access to dog walks, lovely garden, very well equipped. Shower is great! Absolutely recommended, we will be back. Appreciate that some folk like a bath but for us, get rid of the bath and just have a walk in shower. Front door lock; the key code lock is good but also needs the simple black latch handle fixed so that the door still latches closed but not locked when the key code lock is flicked to the disabled position.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Ryan (9/5): Superb - the old coach house is very cosy and comfortable. a great location - quiet and secluded - yet within walking distance to pitlochry high street. we loved the outside space and there are nice views of the hills from the garden (as well as from inside the property). we appreciated the welcoming touches on arrival
- David (10/5): Thoroughly recommend this charming cottage. - A perfect holiday cottage, really well appointed with everything we needed for a great short stay. Ideally located near to the town centre with great views. The owners have considered everything and it makes for a truly accommodating stay. Nothing at all. Cannot fault it.
- Nicola (8/5): apart from the mattress everything was perfect & dog friendly - location was perfect the sleigh bed mattress was awful. 2 people in the bed just roll into the middle of the bed. think this could do with an upgrade
- Nick (10/5): Lovely hosts, and a very cute cottage with enchanting views, very happy! all round! - The cottage was very well equipped with lots of attention to detail. It's a really beautiful building and the views of the landscape are fantastic. Could not have been more happy with the place itself. The hosts were very responsive to our messages and very friendly. This also made the stay particularly pleasant It would be great to have some way of composting food waste
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (8/5): Very good -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Nikki (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (10/5): A great Christmas break - EVERYTHING you might need for a stay was provided, including a welcome pack. The Christmas tree was greatly appreciated. All you really need is to get yourself there. Very cosy & comfortable. Not applicable.
