• McLeod (9/5): - There was no continental breakfast but would love to see there. Good ocean view, good location. We brought our own breakfast. We used the microwave and had cups of coffee. The window were dirty, everything else very clean.

• Sather (8/5): - The location was good, traffic noise was a bit loud a times. But enjoyed that the ocean was directly across the road !! If the couple that couldn't handle their alcohol didn't wake us up at 12:30 am with their fighting and arguing . Thankfully their were gone the next day .

• Güren Tan (6/5): Great place for a night to traverse the Island further north - The motel is very well reachable and has sufficient parking space. We wanted to stay in the upper floor and could do so upon arriving. The receptionist was very friendly and check in as well as check out was easy. We weren't pleased with our neighbors (noise) but for a night it didn't bother us that much.
• mark (8/5): Laid back and inexpensive place with an ocean view! - The guy running the front desk was very friendly and easy going! It was nice being right on the ocean too. I wish there was a pool!
• Andrea (8/5): Would definitely stay here again - The staff was very friendly and let us check in early (about 1:30 pm) The beds were quite comfortable, and the bedding smelled freshly laundered (something I have never experienced before in a hitel/motel stay) Given the age of the building, everything was cleaner and in better condition than I would have expected. The bath towels provided were tiny and thin, and my socks got dirty from walking around on the laminate floor, so it obviously could have been cleaner.
• Maria (4/5): Would not stay there again. - The bedding and towels were clean. The room was in need of a good paint job and the floors needed washing. I do not believe we had maid service as the bed remained unmade, nor the room tidied during our two night stay. See my comments above.

• FRANCO (7/5): classico motel dall'aspetto un po datato, invece camere spaziose con letti buoni. no colazione - Motel comodo situato un lontano dal centro ma di fronte al mare, vista magnifica nuvole permettendo, ampio parcheggio gratuito. struttura esternamente un po datata, camere interne molto belle, letti grandi e comodi, bagno ampio, buona la doccia. tv e frigorifero disponibile in camera. accanto al motel benzinaio per un caffè e colazione veloce. in quanto Motel non è prevista la colazione servita, macchina caffe in camera. motel classico americano con stanze e macchina parcheggiata di fronte
• Stewart (8/5): - Super clean and organized are the first words that come to mind. Also, the check-in person was welcoming and efficient. One of the beds was not up to standard, otherwise fine.

• James (4/5): - The motel is right on the road, with lots of late night and early morning traffic. Had to sleep with the window open as the air conditioner was a unit that only sorta fit into a gap in the window, the pipe kept falling out, and was noisy.

• Karsten (8/5): Nettes Motel mit riesigem Zimmer - Wir waren für eine Nacht, als Zwischenstation, im Big Rock Motel in Campbell River. Das Zimmer war sauber, komfortabel und gepflegt. Die Klimaanlage und das WLan waren voll funktionsfähig. Parkplätze sind genügend vorhanden, auch für Motorräder. Die Zimmer im ersten Stockwerk sind nicht für Menschen mit Einschränkungen geeignet. Das CheckIn ging schnell, der Mitarbeiter war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir würden gerne wiederkommen, wenn wir das nächste Mal in Campbell River sind! Unser Zimmer war ziemlich dunkel

• Laurel (8/5): - Room was older than we expected but safe and a good location. Smelled a bit musty but aired out easily. Excellent value for waiting for an early morning kayak departure.
• James (8/5): - Good in general. Room is big. There is a bath tub and plenty of hot water to fill it. Staff is very helpful and understanding of the needs of disabled clients. The few things that can be improved are... Hardwood floors are not even, and can be cleaned more often. Internet speed is slow. Yet. I would recommend this place to travelers for one or two nights.
• Margaret (6/5): - I don't like writing bad reviews but am really feeling uncomfortable staying here due to the condition of the room. The room has seen better days. The bathtub looks filthy, once the smell of nilodour goes away, the smell of urine is very strong. The fridge was leaking so I asked for some rags to put on the floor. The side of the mattress digs into you when you try to get into bed. There are dents in the walls, a lot of chipped paint and rust. There aren't a lot of cars parked in front. If there are better rooms unoccupied I suggest putting guests in those rooms first. This room is not worth over $200 a night after taxes. Our room is poorly maintained.

• Dagmar (3/5): Keine Weiterempfehlung meinerseits. - Das Motel war zwar sauber, die Zimmerausstattung jedoch so, als ob sie aus den 60er-Jahren stammte, die Beleuchtung des Zimmers nicht einladend. Dafür waren die Kosten für eine Übernachtung in Höhe von 207,66 Kanadischen Dollar absolut überhöht.

• Maribeth (4/5): - The rooms are clean enough, but they smell of cleaning agents. The odor of the first room was unbearable for me, although some people might not mind the citris smell. The owner was kind enough to move me to another room with less odor. Alas, this room had no deadbolt or even an operable chain on the door (a chair did fit under the door handle--I've never done that before!) and the guests overhead woke me when they walked overhead. Fortunately most guests were quiet but walls and ceilings are thin and the windows rattle. Argh, not good night. The linens are fresh, but the property is a bit run down.

• Grant (9/5): Overlooking the ocean - Traditional old. Motel, well maintained, and nice and clean. Right on the coast road. Road was a bit noisy, but slept well.

• jackie (10/5): - The owners are really nice people . The room was clean and had a really nice ocean and boat launch view right across the street . My room 37 had a fridge , microwave , coffee machine and an airconditioner . The ocean walking path is right across the street and runs 28 km along the ocean . I had car troubes and had to stay another night. The motel said no vvacancy but the owner was able to let me keep my room another night which was super helpful as i really liked it there and has happy i didnt have to move to another motel.

• Hatchet (10/5): - It's a very affordable option for someone looking to get away with minimal planning. There wasn't a lot of locks on the door, which to me indicates that there are never really any issues for theft there. Bed was comfy, and the air conditioner was really effective at cooling the room down. Conviently right next to a gas station and a liquor store (if you're into that). Good place to flop out and relax after a day of exploring campbell river.

• Katherine (10/5): - Renovations have been done and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There’s AC in the room, fridge and coffee maker. The rooms are spacious with 2 queen beds and two closets.

• Lise (5/5): I loved both the room and location, but allowing guests to smoke directly outside their rooms will prevent me from comin - Clean, lots of space in the room. Directly across a beautiful beach with a long walkway where you can walk for hours. The room was equipped with a coffee maker, small fridge and microwave. It was quite hot in Campbell River and the portable air conditioner did a good job of making the room comfortable when I could run it. Smoking is not permitted in the rooms, but each room is setup with a chair and ashtray directly outside the room. The smell of cigarette smoke and weed came in my room via the air conditioner intake and when I ran the bathroom fan. Even though it was quite hot, I had to turn both off to avoid the smoke.
