Guest Reviews
- Barrie (10/5): Happy family time in relax holiday home - Good location
Children liked the pool
Friendly host Nothing
- M (8/5): Very good -
- Campbell (10/5): Very nice place to stay! - Breakfast was lovely, very thoughtful!
- Iain (7/5): Good -
- Robert (9/5): One night stay in Belgrave. - Quiet, convenient for trains and shops and restaurants. Cereals and toast provided for breakfast. Would like to have done Puffing Billy train but gets booked up early so make sure you book well in advance.
- Julie (9/5): Well-priced, comfortable, clean and excellently located. - Reasonably priced, clean and comfortable and excellent location. Lovely outlooks. All was fine. Owner opened up spare accommodation for us to use too; this was a great bonus and made our stay more pleasant.
- Don (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): Very good -
- Donna (8/5): Lovely host - So close to Puffing Billy and the continental breakfast was a great start to the day. Lovely host. Too cold in the bathroom in Winter and the heater doesn't stay on long enough to warm it.
- Julianne (5/5): It was comfortable. But we wouldn’t stay again. - The breakfast was well thought out and plenty for the 3 of us. We enjoyed it. And having a whole litre of milk was a bonus too. The pictures are quite misleading on the website, I booked this mainly for the space for my special needs child and the spa. The larger outdoor area was not accessible and neither was the spa which was disappointing. The driveway is a nightmare to get out of, and we only had a small suv.
We also didn’t realise there were people living above us, so we were woken up at 12.30 pm by people walking around.
- Vidhya (10/5): Exceptional - It’s a very beautiful property specially if you want to just relax
- Patrick (9/5): Better check in before nightfall and can only drive in if drving an SUV. - The owner reserve for us a connecting unit with a huge kitchen with fireplace! Check in after nightfall and driveway into unit was pitch black and steep slope.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good - Proximity to shops and restaurants
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional -

- Br (8/5): Very good -
- Gino (9/5): Superb - Nice quiet location , very clean Driveway was a bit difficult to manuaver
- Leroy (1/5): Bad - After booking the room, the hotel was removed from the website list. Try to reschedule the date with the hotel but never reply. As it is non-refundable, money wasted for one night.
- Anonymous (8/5): cute and cosy - nice room good breakfast the driveway
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional - The owner is a sweet lady and made us feel right at home. The place was comfortable and clean. The fireplace was a nice thing to have since the weather was pretty cold when I went.

- Connie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Asha (10/5): once we arrived it was fantastic - the location and it was very clean and Leonie couldn’t do enough for us she was amazing very hard to get hold of on the phone we needed an early checkin and a person called Helen kept hanging up on us and didn’t return our phone calls, eventually my daughter managed to get Michael on the phone but he didn’t get the details correct which meant we had to keep ringing again eventually we just emailed through booking.com but Leonie rang us the day before arrival and she was amazing 😊
- Emily (8/5): Very good -
- Kok (8/5): Very pleasant stay - The place is quiet and secluded but yet close to Puffing Billing train and Belgrave town Nil
- Scott (5/5): Passable - Not the lodge itself just two bedrooms.
1 bathroom Thought it was the whole lodge but only one single apartment
- Christine (7/5): Good - Breakfast should have been topped up daily, 5 people 10 slices of toast left for breakfast for 3 days, cereal would have only lasted two days at the most but they were sugary so not eaten
- Levi (9/5): Superb -
- Rosemary (10/5): Great stay - Loved how close to town, the room set up and host was wonderful.
- Li (7/5): Cosy at night in the living room due to the fireplace. Relaxing stay. - Location, walking distance to eateries and bars, easy to takeaway or order delivery or just eat in town.
Puffing Billy station Belgrave was also within walking distance. We drove 5 min to the Threstle Bridge and took a video of the passing Puffing Billy, memorable sight.
Simple breakfast was provided which was good, with juice, milk, cereals, bread and cookies. Driveway into the place was steep, downwards, we park outside the office instead of the lodge as it was very steep and may be difficult to drive up or turn around. Instead we push and carry our luggage down the slope to our rooms and when we left, we had to carry and push the luggage up the slope to the car. Very difficult for out 84 year old mothers. Outside the lodge, the small greenery was not maintained well as there was storms previously and broken branches and felled trees were not yet cleared.
