• scott (9/5): - DOUG at the front desk! His friendliness and attention to detail made ALL the difference for us. The HILTON IVR and phone system. I was delayed for driving up in a snowstorm and wanted to make sure our room would not be given away. The IVR sent us in circles, then it required the confirmation by typed in to the phone. Sorry, not while driving and getting off the highway to do so seemed like a bad idea. Maybe your revenue managers think you are saving a lot of money by prefiltering calls but this took it too far. The FOOD service. Whatever food supply company is delivering plastic wrapped "fresh" fruit to the breakfast bar needs to make sure the fruit is not bruised and rotten and just held together by wasteful plastic cling wrap.

• Walter (8/5): Nice hotel but was told card skimmers do not work. - Clean hotel, great location within short walking distance of all kinds of restaurants and shops. The only thing I did not like was the front desk clerk said both of the credit/debit card skimmers on the counter were not working and I would have to hand her my card for her to process my transaction when I checked in. I do not like handing my card to people, I like the security of a skimmer and swiping the card myself.

No dislikes at all.

The breakfast attendant was excellent, and the housekeeping staff were kind and helpful. All should be acknowledged for being seriously amazing! The parking garage to hotel was a little annoying, but tolerable.

• marcn807 (10/5): Good Hotel In St. Albans - I have read a lot of the reviews that were a bit critical, so I wanted to write one about our very positive experience in this hotel. We stayed here on our way to Canada to break up the drive and to see St. Albans. The hotel was a very pleasant place to spend the night. It was clean and quiet and the staff were friendly, answering all of our questions about where to eat, for example. We saw a train idling during an after dinner walk but never heard any train noise as I had seen in other reviews. We also had no issues with the adjacent municipal parking garage. It was clean and felt safe to the point that I really wonder about the few reviews that I read that mentioned the garage as an issue. The breakfast was really good by the standards of a Hampton Inn breakfast. We quite enjoyed it. We will certainly stay at this property again when we're heading that way.

My husband thought it was ok, the staff at breakfast was great. very polite and helpful. nice variety of offerings. Our room was spotless. The hotel was also very clean. We especially liked that the hotel does not use chemical smelling cleaners, as we have a sensitivity to such cleaners, as I mentioned my husband thought that the breakfast was just ok. I thought it was very nice. it would have been nice if the parking were free. we only had to pay a $4 fee to park, however.

• KenandToni207 (6/5): Hotel ok, St.Albans not so. - Fairly nice hotel , seemed pretty new. Bed average comfort but had no curtains that closed totally , only a shear , St. Albans we had heard and did witness has really gotten a lot like Burlington VT with a lot of very sketchy people wandering the streets and doing drugs etc and we were warned to park car in the garage near well lit area. We got lucky but were really nervous given a couple people smoking in the garage that looked like local bums hanging out. All was well and cant really blame hotel other than security could do more to keep people away and cars safer. The whole area aroung the garage and entrance was pretty sad and really not comfortable atmosphere.
