• nik (4/5): Echt schade - Die Lage am Wasser ist echt fein. Die Bar gleich unten absolut authentisch. Der Zustand des Appartements sowie der Einrichtung lässt sich mit "extrem abgewohnt" zusammenfassen. Der stolze Hinweis im Stiegenaufgang auf die Gästebewertung von 9,9 Punkten aus dem Jahr 2017 ist bezeichnend. Aus dieser Zeit dürften auch die Fotos auf booking.com stammen. Hier wurde seither wohl nicht einmal das Notwendigste investiert. Farbe löst sich von den Wänden, Bett, Kleiderschrank und Badezimmerschrank stehen knapp vor dem Zusammenbruch, Lampen sind teilweise defekt, Ausstatung mit Gläsern & Co ist minimalistisch ... zumindest war alles sauber. Wirklich schade um diese an sich tolle Location.

Jako bonus genialna restauracja w budynku. Polecam. Nie wpływa to na moją ocenę, ale przydałoby się uzupełnić szklanki, kieliszki i sztućce.
• Jan (9/5): Fantastisch verblijf in origineel dorp aan zee - De fantastische ligging met uitzicht op zee en bar en restaurant vlakbij De keukeninrichting (ontbreken van kommetjes bijvoorbeeld) was minimaal en de douche ook basic.
• Iris (10/5): Best location ever! - Best location ever. What a view from the balcony. Make sure to make a reservation at Maktub Restaurant to have the best fish of your life. The people are super nice and the cocktails were great. We already miss it!
• Claudia (3/5): Enttäuschung - Die Lage direkt am Meer Die Bilder im Internet stimmen überhaupt nicht mit der Realität überein. Die Ausstattung der Küche ist mangelhaft, es gibt kein Sofa wie auf den Bildern. Das Bett ist klein und muss durch einen Bierkasten vom Zusammenbrechen bewahrt werden. Das Schlafzimmer lässt sich nur durch ein Fenster Inden Hausflur lüften.9⁹

• Harm (9/5): Sehr schöne Unterkunft direkt am Ozean - Der Ausblick auf den Atlantik war super schön und man kann direkt vor der Tür ins Wasser springen. Super Balkon und die Wohnung ist liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Bett könnte etwas bequemer sein, war aber okay. Ansonsten alles in Ordnung.

• Karine (4/5): Niet naar verwachting - Het uitzicht en de zonsondergang vanaf het balkon. En zwem mogelijkheid in zee, recht voor de deur. Het appartement moest nog worden schoongemaakt toen we binnen kwamen. Werd bij aankomst alsnog geregeld. De kwaliteit van de inrichting van het appartement was zeer gedateerd en kapot. Gordijnen slaapkamer met vlekken, gordijnrails in de huiskamer viel uitelkaar bij dichtdoen van de gordijnen. Mieren liepen door keuken, huiskamer en badkamer. Geen ventilator aanwezig, maar appartement word warm van de zon die recht naar binnen schijnt. Locatie echt meer geschikt voor jongeren ivm kroeg onder en restaurant naast het appartement. Zijn maar 1 nacht gebleven ipv 3 wel netjes afgehandeld qua annuleren en terugbetaling.

• Evelien (8/5): Top! - Mooi appartement voor wie van gezelligheid houdt. Dé plek om een duik te nemen in de zee en vervolgens op eigen balkon (of uiteraard het "betonnen strand" ervoor) van de zon te genieten. De bar ernaast zorgt tot in de late uurtjes voor gezelligheid waar, zo lijkt het, het halve dorp voor uitloopt. Het appartement zelf is comfortabel en van alle gemakken voorzien.
• Kenny (8/5): - L’emplacement est vraiment idéal : à deux pas de la mer et d’un bar-restaurant. La vue est exceptionnelle grâce aux grandes fenêtres et à la terrasse donnant directement sur l’océan. Parfait si vous cherchez de l’animation et de la vie autour de vous. L’appartement manque d’équipements basiques, notamment en vaisselle, ce qui peut rendre le séjour un peu moins pratique. De plus, si vous recherchez avant tout le calme, le bar situé en bas anime régulièrement les soirées, ce qui peut ne pas convenir à tout le monde
• Lukas (9/5): - Perfektní atmosféra. Krásný výhled. Bar a skvělý gastronomický zazitek v restauraci. Západy slunce. Molo pod okny, hory za zády. Snídaně se nepodává, ale ve vesničce je krámek nebo ráno jezdi pod okny pekař a troubí v autem. Tupé nože, vrzající postel.

The balcony offers an incredible view of the ocean — every morning begins with the sound of waves and the fresh sea breeze, and the evenings are filled with magical sunsets. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean is pure magic. The ocean is just a few steps away! The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need: a well-equipped kitchen, a washing machine — everything is thoughtfully arranged for a comfortable stay. The vibe is fantastic — the apartment is located above a charming, atmospheric bar that adds to the mood without disturbing your rest. This place truly stole my heart. When I return to Madeira, I’ll stay here and nowhere else. Highly recommended from the bottom of my heart!
• Siarhei (3/5): When the bar was closed in the morning, it was simply an idyll on the Atlantic coast. - The apartment is located right on the beach. Great ocean view. The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary for a little cooking. The bed is wide and comfortable. The check-in and check-out processes are simple, clear, and convenient. The sound of the waves, when heard, is wonderfully calming and creates a wonderful mood during your vacation. In the neighboring building, 1 meter away, there is a night "Bar da Pedra", with loud music. Lots of visitors from all around gather there. Until 2 am, there is noise, hubbub, and loud music. All this happens right on the street, directly under the balcony of the apartment. In the morning, there is a lot of garbage, dirt, and vomit left on the street, which does not contribute to a pleasant mood. All this, to be honest, turned out to be a real shock for us. So if you want to get a quiet, calm vacation on the ocean shore, then this place is not for you. If you like a night party, then this is a great place! In addition, there wasn't a single sharp knife in the kitchen.
• Pavel (8/5): - Skvělé místo přímo u pláže s velkým panoramatickým výhledem na oceán. Apartmán jednoduše a účelně vybavený. Tipuji, že místo může vyhovovat především mladým párům, kterým nevadí hluk z baru, který byl bohužel většinou až do ranních hodin. Pokud dorazíte v odpoledních hodinách, může být problém s parkováním.
• Vinita (9/5): Absolutely recommend for your next sty in Paul Do Mar. Amazing view from the apartment - I loved the location and view from the Balcony. The Kitchen was also good and has basic amenities. The apartment was clean and bed was super comfortable as well. Nothing to complain, but it can get too loud at night with the bar next door which is open until 2 am.

• Sujeev (8/5): Very good - Pros: View Spacious Kitchen has enough amenities for cooking, a fridge and also a washing machine Value for money Cons: The only annoying thing was the shower in the bathroom, the shower pipe leaks more than the water coming out and it was difficult to take a shower with it and also the bathroom floor gets wet and we couldn't even find any wipers to clean it so had to deal with a wet floor the whole time.
• Charlotte (9/5): Wonderful resting spot after our adventures hikes - The location of Maktub is amazing. Directly at the sea in a less touristic area. You could do hikes starting in front of the door. The flat is well equipped. Beyond the flat there was a nice bar, which was not too loud. Locals and tourists were coming by to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. A small supermarket is nearby (4min by car). Our shower was leaking a bit so there was always water on the bathroom floor & Some hooks to hang your jackets would be nice.

• Marielle (8/5): Value for money with stunning sunset and ocean views - This must have been the closest I have ever slept to the ocean. The views from the balcony are stunning. The sound of the waves are soothing, especially late at night. Great location with two cool bars downstairs. You can watch the surfers here in Paul do Mar or have a cheap cocktail and watch the sunset. The pictures didn’t quite match the property as it had no sofa (only two small armchairs) or coffee machine. The bed was very creaky and I kept waking up during the night. Needs an upgrade. However, still great value for money.

The place could have a bit more attention to detail in terms of kitchen tools and overall decor, also given the price. The bed room in the back was a bit small and warm and could benefitted from a bit more ventilation.

• Nuttaya (10/5): It‘s 3 days when the sea, the sound of the waves, and the moon is amazing and wonderful on the day of rest. - It‘s next to the sea, the sound of the waves, playing with the water, it’s a wonderful and wonderful 3 nights vacation, we don‘t have to travel with a sunset view. The soundproofing room is good and there are plenty of places to drink. If you‘ll have a bigger outside table. You have a great sunset view, so eating outside is wonderful. Increase the foot size 43/40 will be good.

• Adela (10/5): 11/10 best place to stay on Madeira - Beautiful place with magical view and excellent staff! This was our last accommodation on Madeira before coming back home and we couldn’t possibly be more lucky and happy to stay our last days in here! I think, I never had better stay as I had in this place. Lots of utilities in the flat, clean, great bar downstairs with a lots of friendly people. This place was a vibe, paradise! 11/10 We will definitely be back soon!
• Mj (8/5): Overall really good. It’s off the beaten track which we loved. - For us, as surfers and ocean lovers, the location right by the crashing ocean was fantastic. And the views were brilliant. So our favourite part of the property was its view out over the ocean. The lounge/kitchen area was spacious and clean and had most things you’d need for self-catering. The bathroom was also a good size for a couple, with a shower, toilet, bidet, sink and shelf unit. The bedroom could have done with some kind of fan, either a free-standing one or a ceiling fan, because this room had zero air flow to the outside. Also, the bed sheets didn’t fit the double bed. But awkward. Lastly, ants. We had ants. Round the kitchen, in everything in the bathroom. And in our clothes in the bedroom. So not ideal either. We controlled them in the kitchen with salt round the benches. It wasn’t possible to do this elsewhere though. We’d sadly also chosen to stay when the cafe below the property was closed for our entire stay, which we weren’t aware of until we arrived. The cafe was the second reason we chose to book this property, as it’s owned by the same people & seemed to have a great reputation and vibe too. So it would have been good to know it was closed.

• Amanda (5/5): The details leave something to be desired but the view is amazing - View is spectacular. Balcony is lovely. Location is hard to beat. Food is good, much more clean a d healthy than other places in town. There was food in the sink when we got there, no garbage bag in the kitchen, no soap in the bathroom and just generally not very clean.

Gut ausgestattete Küche, sogar mit Waschmaschine. Originell eingerichtetes Lokal, vor dem sich abendlich nicht nur junge Leute treffen, auch um sich bei leckeren Cocktails den Sonnenuntergang anzusehen.

• Léonard (8/5): Sympa ! - Séjour sympa, appartement ayant une superbe vue sur la mer. Par contre il n'y a pas grand chose aux alentours donc il faut être véhiculé.
• anja (10/5): Sauber, herzlich, herrlicher Meerblick - Sauberes, geräumiges Appartement mit herrlichem Meerblick. Küche super ausgestattet, Vermieter sehr relaxed und zuvorkommend. Es gibt rein gar nichts zu beanstanden, haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.
