Guest Reviews
- Ellie (9/5): Great location with stunning sea view - Fantastic views from the bedrooms. Parking was great, secure. Staff in restaurant/bar were super friendly & the food & drinks were lovely.
Bus into Brighton was right outside property. The bed was very hard
- Antoinette (8/5): -
- Antoinette (8/5): -
- Stephen (6/5): Not boutique, but basic - Warm room nice and quiet Room a bit dirty, window all plaster fallen off, kettle had to dust. Tele did not work had an old indoor aerial you had to move for broken signal, extention leads everywhere, no heating in bathroom
- chris (9/5): A nice place to stay, only a few small reservations - The location was great - and when it said 'sea view' it wasn't lying, though you actually had to stand next to the window to see the sea! The bed was firm but very comfortable, the get-in was efficient and all arrangements were made well. We only met one member of staff and she was lovely. They were also very accommodating about us having a slightly later check-out. The fridge in the room wasn't very cold - we weren't even sure if it was working - and the bathroom door was starting to come off one of its hinges, which worried us slightly. There aren't many very nice places to eat nearby unless you go for a very long walk or drive.
- Garry (2/5): A good for the very journeys very close but bad if you're disabled - I like the location to the ferry and the food in restaurant Didn't like I had to keep on moving my car as they had loads Stones delivered and needed to spread them properly but I wanted to part my car and relax I couldn't do that because I had to get to move it in and out and I like to relax and have a drink there was too many stairs going up for my wife who's disabled the bed was extremely hard the views were okay there was definitely signs of wear and tear in the rooms that could have been sorted out you had to pay for your Wi-Fi the lock and the key the key was slowly bent so wouldn't quite work properly didn't like there was no breakfast or invitation to have a breakfast except telling you there was a restaurant down the road
- Sue (8/5): Great value. Excellent location - Location excellent
Bus routs
Local shops nearby
Restaurant on site Shower wasn’t working properly
- Jean (9/5): Ideal location for catching ferry from Newhaven - Didn't have breakfast as was out of the room at 6am to catch ferry, we had a lovely sea view room. Ideal location to catch ferry as only a 10min drive up the road Nothing to dislike
- Wain (10/5): Friendly staff and a lovely clean place to stay - Really convenient, staff are lovely and the room is just what I needed after a day travelling. Thanks guys…you run a great place It can be noisy but this trip was remarkably quiet
- Peter (8/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Nice room, very clean and close to facilities - Nothing particularly, it was just what we needed. Very clean, and very conveniently located for visiting family. We were very happy with it. The room was SO hot when we got to it! I don’t know if there’s much would could have been done about it, maybe leaving the window on the latch or leaving the fan on perhaps. But it was so hot, I even felt the radiator when we went inside, as it was like a sauna!
- Terry (8/5): Handy to be able to get a meal. Great for ferry port - Good location for getting to Newhaven ferry port
- Sean (1/5): Never again - We booked 4 rooms, but 24 hours before arrival was messaged to say they doubled book and would only have 3 rooms for us, meaning we had to find alternative room elsewhere with 24 hours notice on bank holiday weekend at cost to us as prices were now at peak and not much available. we booked 4 weeks beforehand and had messages from them during this time but nothing about rooms anavailable. Greenwich roons blamed booking.com but i disagree . They knew 4 weeks in advance, they confirmed with us , they messaged us . Also cant get a refund until 7 days after stay.
Rooms very basic, walls are paper thin but hotel does supply ear plugs lol. Showers dodgy, cleaniness not a priority
Would not reccomend at all.
- Arent Jan (9/5): -
- Malcolm (6/5): - Not good at all8
- Guest (7/5): -
- Glenn (10/5): Great place to stay in Peacehaven. - Clean room, access to restaurant. Checked in early without any problems. Good location. A little noisy, but not too bad.
- David (8/5): - Location, outlook, cleanliness Nothing
- John (9/5): Easy access near the sea nice room will return - Access and parking with good food great Sunday Lunch None of note
- Joyce (10/5): - Loved the room, the view, the facilities, the staff and convenience for the ferry. For us the 4 flights of stairs were a challenge but most people wouldn't have a problem!
- JOSIE (3/5): Would not return, didn’t get much sleep due to noise from the road. But good and staff were good. - The staff and food were good The rooms smelt and were very noisy from the road outside. Bed was not very comfortable. The shelf in the bathroom is too close to the sink so can’t brush your teeth easily
- Thomas (7/5): Ideal for what I required - Stayed overnight to catch the Dieppe ferry the following morning. Ideal location for this. Room were clean and tidy. Ideal for what I required Access to rooms stairs only. Didn’t cause me a problem but wasn’t aware of that before I arrived
- Rachel (10/5): -
- JERZY (8/5): 👍 - 👍 -
- Yvonne (10/5): - Lovely clean and comfortable. Sea view and peaceful
- Olha (7/5): Good value for money - Great location. Nice pub downstairs where you can taste good food and drinks. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Harry (7/5): The room was adequate and served its purpose. - Staff was friendly and rooms was spacious with everything we needed with cot provided for our little one. The bed, it was not comfortable at all, the mattress was very hard and both me and partner woke with back ache both mornings. The shower/drainage also had a sewage smell coming from it.
- Linda (10/5): Had a great day and would definitely stay again if in the area. - Room was clean and had very good extras included. Toiletries and tea coffee facilities also a bottle of water in the fridge.
We had food in the bar downstairs and that was very nice. Nothing
- Luke (10/5): Great value and great food! - Very easy to check in, eat and sleep.
Value for money
Would stay again.
- Claire (8/5): - Location and sea view I went mid March and the room was very warm, the first thing I did was turn the radiator off. I then opened the window but unfortunately it was very windy and so tried to wedge it open with a towel but it didn't work.
- Janet (10/5): -
- Sala (10/5): The room was clean, bed was cozy ,temperature can be controlled, toilet was neat. - Break fast was not available. But in the night felt little far off from the bus stop. The name board was too small for identifying.
- Judy (8/5): Good value - Comfortable bed. View of the sea. Helpful staff. Cramped bathroom with horrid hand basin
- Antoinette (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): -
- Chris (8/5): -
- Ian (10/5): Fantastic o! - The manager who greeted us was lovely he carried our luggage up and then returned with a taxi number great service will stay again. Also had a lovely meal downstairs before going out.
- andy (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent - No breakfast, but knew that beforehand.
Tea n coffee available in the room as well as a fridge.
We also knew there was a cafe and Sainsbury's across the road
Spotlessly clean and tidy would definitely stay here again.
Also The Burger and Bird Bar / Restaurant underneath was brilliant, serving delicious food and beer, very handy, again with super staff and extremely clean. Slightly softer mattress, again the reviews said it was firm, so we were ready for it
- ian (7/5): Easy to locate and very friendly; we would stay here again if visiting the area. - Location was excellent. Very close to coastline walks. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which was also excellent. The advertised car parking was not clearly available. There is a free car park 100m away, which was pointed out to us by locals. Neither ourselves or any of the staff could get the TV to work.
- Alexis (9/5): A nice clean, room great value for money. - It was very close to Brighton itself really nice quiet location comfortable room facilities were clean. Towels, hairdryer fridge kettle came with the room along with the TV which where imperfect in nick. A really nice stay overall. The main bed itself was a very firm mattress, which made it quite uncomfortable (as we both enjoy a softer mattress) but that was the only issue with the room
- Paul (10/5): Excellent value for money -
- Alexandra (9/5): -
- Noel (8/5): Ver convenient and met our needs. -
- Valerie (9/5): Great value for quality of room. - Exceptionally clean room and ensuite bathroom. Plenty of tea & coffee for drinks. Temperature control easy with powerful convector heater when it went cold overnight. Plenty of hot water for showers. Comfortable bed and pillows. Staff were so pleasant and helpful and even carried our suitcase up and down to help me. We knew there were stairs to the room but didn't realise it was 2 floors which were difficult for my husband's limited mobility.
- Craig (5/5): A little disappointing - The bar staff were really nice and the bar was decent. Room was a tad shabby and very cramped. Two things fell off of the wall just by me looking at them. Couldn't really clean your teeth at the sink as not enough room!
Thought the room was overpriced.
- Robert (7/5): Enjoyableits - No breakfast included but enjoyed the bar downstairs. Good food reasonably priced. Attentive staff. Its a bit daft but a lift would have been handy. My wife has trouble walking but she managed ok. As we new beforehand about the lift we had no complaints.
- Yuzkan (8/5): -
- Beverley (8/5): easy access close to where we wanted it to be and food is good - good location for what we needed I think 10am check out is a bit early 12 midday would be ideal
- Shirley (7/5): - Heating was on prior to arrival. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Bedroom (no2) was too small for our needs as was ensuite. My husband is a 2XL man and had difficulty fitting into space where sink was. I am a size 14 and found the space uncomfortable.
Previous stay we had the bedroom looking out the front which was much more spacious.
One of the cups in the room was dirty.
- dennis (5/5): -
- Julie (8/5): If you need a decent hotel in Peacehaven the Greenwich Rooms is perfect! - Great location as we were going to a party in the area. Had a fantastic Sunday lunch, food was excellent & staff were lovely and friendly. Nothing
- james (10/5): -
- Adam (7/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): Room reasonably priced, especially considering our stay was over Christmas. - Conveniently located to the centre of Peacehaven. Also well located for the excellent bus service into Brighton with bus stops nearby. Small fridge in room very useful. Cereal bowls with spoons a nice added touch. Room 6 has a sea view. No complaints whatever.
- Derek (9/5): Stayed for a family event. Good location, the room was lovely and warm. Comfy bed, very clean. - 10 minute walk from where we were going. Nothing really.
- Louise (8/5): Lovely views and friendly place. A nice place to stay. - The sea views were fantastic! A later check out would have been great.
- Marion (10/5): - Very convenient for a bus into Brighton, park the car in the pub carpark and you're free for public transport. Food on tap downstairs in the warm friendly bar. 5mins to cliff top walk and see the sea.
- Graham (8/5): 60th party - Location for where I was going, the burger before I went out The smell.in tbe toilet..think itvwas the plug hole..I wasn't in the room.much so wasn't too worried but I should of mentioned it
- Anthony (8/5): -
- Gary (9/5): -
- Robyn (9/5): -
- Chloe (5/5): Deceptive - Convenient and friendly staff The bed was very uncomfortable and mattress was hard.
- Stanley (8/5): Worth every penny - Although small the room was comfortable, the bed comfy as well, especially liked the large pillows. There are small areas where the paintwork needs attention. Nice to have tea making facilties, milk and bottled water. Couldn't close one of the windows properly.
- Michala (8/5): Great for a nights stay - Clean, bright and everything in needed for a nights stay. Great view of the ocean. Parking onsite a bonus. Friendly staff/ A little less starch on bedding
- Sinitta (7/5): -
- Jack (10/5): - Good value for money
Friendly staff
- Justine (8/5): We had a great stay at Burger & Bird and will come again! - Comfortable and had everything we needed
- Moira (8/5): Always clean and comfortable, perfect for a night or two - Clean and comfy Meal in the restaurant wasn’t great (we’ve eaten there before and it was nice).
- Geraldine (8/5): Overall nice clean and friendly service - Good price for value Steep stairs no lift if you have any disability this is not for you
Car park not great but plenty parking nearby so not so much an issue
- Lindsay (8/5): Perfect for an overnight stop while travelling - Excellent location for a morning ferry. Staff were helpful and polite. Food in the restaurant was good and the staff there were great. Basic but very clean room with a good hot shower. No breakfast but a Sainsbury local opposite, it wasn’t a problem.
- Albert Clifford (7/5): -
- flack (5/5): -
- ken (8/5): -
- Mark (8/5): Overall served its purpose. - Very good introduction to hotel and room by staff Bathroom on the small side, a bit tired.
- David (8/5): 1 night away, due to building works in home. - Convenient to be above a restaurant. We ate here, and as we both eat vegetarian, we were pleasantly surprised that there were several good options, mostly Gourmet Burgers, the Mushroom and Holumi was delicious. Certain elements of room (wall by window) and some communal areas (carpet by main entrance on second floor), a bit worse for wear. Everything else was good.
- Colin (5/5): - Staff ok Room dingy . Bed uncomfortable. Limited channels on TV due to poor signal. Travel kettle in room. Had to use socket on floor . When boiled had to take kettle and lead to cups. Not sure if that is allowed ? Toilet seat needs sorting out
- jodoidge (9/5): Fantastic location and accommodation. - Great location and price very reasonable for the area. Second time staying at the Greenwich Rooms so would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Great to have the car park at the back so don’t have to worry about moving it during our stay. Love the Burger & Bird downstairs - the roast is incredible! There was some damp around the window in the room which was a shame as otherwise was in great condition and very clean. The first night it was very hot in the room but the second night we just opened the window and it was much better.
- emma (8/5): -
- Chris (7/5): Really - Welcoming Carpet was stained and surfaces were not level(too brush fell off for example)
- Nicola (7/5): - Good location for Newhaven ferry port. Ideal for an overnight stay. Pub food available downstairs. Plenty of supermarkets nearby.
- Dylan JB (9/5): We enjoyed our stay. - Clean, comfortable, quiet. The Burger and Bird Staff were happy to help. Check-in was simple. Great location for our needs. Less than 30 minutes bus ride into Brighton. Good enough WiFi signal. Sea view. No major complaints, but the bathroom and shower could be improved with some more shelving and a firm toilet seat. Toiletries should be cruelty-free, vegan & earth-friendly. Allow the mirror light to be switched on without the main light. Get a newer TV that we can cast to from our devices. The current one doesn't even go online. More coat hangers.
- Phillipa (7/5): very convenient - room really needed decorating but the bed was comfortable. we were only staying for one night before catching a ferry. Burger in the restaurant was excellent and service friendly and efficient Bedroom needed a bit of a spruce.
- williams (8/5): -
- Jayne (5/5): -
- Wayne (10/5): Great, comfortable and affordable accommodation in a delightful town. - Very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Very friendly management and staff. Easy proximity to restaurants, groceries, laundry etc. Toiletries and coffee bar needs to be checked daily.
- Geraldine (8/5): No hassle stay in great room & location. - Great location, parking a bonus. Rooms clean and comfortable. Useful to have a discount on restaurant as it’s great food.
King room with sea view overlooks car park so can check on car. Lovely to see the sea albeit a little far away, still, you can hear it when you wake up with window open :)
Room has both fan and heater if needed which is a thoughtful touch. Room fridge could do with a deep clean. But have already booked again so wouldn’t let it put us off staying here.
- Michelle (7/5): Nice enough room but tv was bigger than the shower !!! - Very tidy room Very hard matress
Room was very very hot, fan was rubbish just tv circulated the warm air
- David (3/5): - Nothing Room was very dated, mattress had seen better days, shower was poor
- Ali (10/5): Great place above the bar/restaurant with attentive and polite and helpful staff - Great stop over before an early ferry journey. Room very comfortable and airy and the staff very attentive and helpful. Definately recommend. Nothing not to like.
- Peter (8/5): - Very comfortable bed, good shower. We were unable to fully close the window and there was a storm.
- Anne (8/5): -
- Deniz (4/5): Sad - The staff were really helpfull and kind. Parking was a big plus right behind of the building. The location is good (10 - 15 min from the ferry) there is a mini frigo and 2 water offer. As we arrived late they send they will send a code but they didn’t and when we call it was really hard to reach them. Finally after 10 min of call they take the phone and they said kindly they wait for us. This was kind.
Room himself was so sadly a disappointing… we find the hairs in the bed, my kids bed was not having sheets and the matelas was super dirty… so he slept with us. The noise from outside was disturbing. I am so sad of the expérience. If they make a bit of rénovation it will be a super place.
- Reiner (5/5): - Stanza un po' trascurata
- Joanna (8/5): Pleasant - Separate entrance from the restaurant. Very dark at the bottom of the stairs, needs additional lighting.
Door of Number 2 is very stiff and sticks to the carpeting
- Shania (10/5): Amazing stay!! -
- Manfred (9/5): -
- Natasha (10/5): - Cosy and private. Free parking
- Toby (5/5): - Very close to Newhaven Ferry port Room 4 very loud , even with the windows shut , the be was quite hard and the room could do with a lick of paint
