Guest Reviews
- Drew (4/5): - I know it was a last minute room grab but we paid resort prices for a worse-than-motel6 room. Hot, no a/c. The windows had safety bars (neighborhood?) so only opened a crack. The area didn’t have cellular service and they did not offer any Wi-Fi.
It did not smell bad, but was extremely basic.
- vin (6/5): - Clean but this property is old and needs remodeling. Rooms have poor sound proofing. Not enough parking spaces and people park in undesignated spots which is a danger and a hazard during emergency.
- Virginia (10/5): - The room was very clean. It is an older property, but has been cared for.
- Joel (4/5): - Cannot reach the front desk at 10 PM
- Libby (8/5): - Check
- Sulamita (10/5): - It was a good stay just a bit warm no ac
- Cassandra (10/5): - The room was very clean and spacious. We stayed in a 2 Full Beds room, the bathroom was big and clean. Overall it was a nice stay
- KRISTINE ANGELA (6/5): - Bed was not uncomfortable. I didnt know there was no AC too. It would.have been more unconfortable during summer.
- Beau (8/5): - Thanks
- joe (6/5): - Nice guy on the front desk, he talked us off the
Ledge to stay the nite & not look elsewhere.
- Suellen (10/5): - This was a very nice stay. The motel is very clean and comfortable. I was surprised by how big the room was! It was well landscaped, quiet and the staff were very nice.
- Vanda (6/5): - It’s nice and clean, the only problem I had is my door didn’t lock so I had to put a chair in front of the door. It was late I was tired and didn’t want to go through the process of changing rooms.
- Karen (2/5): This cheap Motel is NOT in Monterey! - I ended up not staying here, because it looked like a really cheap, low rent motel in a scary area of Marina. This was NOT Monterey, though the app indicated it was Monterey. Marina is several towns North on Hwy 1!! I'm trying to get my money back for this prepaid stay, as I had to purchase a night at another hotel!! Yikes!!
- Mark (6/5): - Host were very gracious. It was hard to deal with the office, as it is often closed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Photo is accurate. - Room 222 upstairs was posted as a non-smoking, but was a smoking room. Hard to be in when you are not a smoker. Toilet is loose, needs help. Reservation Road did quiet down between 1am- 6am.
- Siddharth (8/5): - Good host. Decent rooms with no AC but have a fan. When we stayed, weather was good so no AC didn’t make a difference
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful Place - Neat and clean room, the staff takes pride in their work and it shows.
- JORGE EDUARDO (10/5): - The place is clean, quiet, comfortable and within a short drive to Carmel & Monterey. We traveled during the 4th of July holiday and the hotels in Carmel were expensive and booked up, this was the best price-location option.
- Evan (10/5): Great place to stay - Very clean, comfortable, quiet and well maintained Inn. The room was bright and spacious, the bed really comfortable and tons extra space in the room.
- James (10/5): - This establishment is a hidden gem that has a nostalgic decor. Room was very clean and comfortable.
- alan (2/5): - The manager was never around. You had to operate on his convenience. When they had dirty sheets, they complained of cleaning the sheets when they were not damaged just need to be washed and took my deposit for that. They have a scheme going on there with taking deposits. It’s also $50 a door key if you lose one
- alan (2/5): - The manager takes your deposit for things that he should not. Rip off manager They are hard to get a hold of during the day. Would not recommend to anyone.
- Bryan (2/5): - Office was locled upon arrival. Had to knock on the door multiple times before someone came to open it. Person in office seemed annoyed to have to check me in. Would not reccomend. Will not be staying again.
- Vladimir (4/5): There is no AC in the room - There is no AC in the room, the mattress is not comfortable, after it hurts my back a lot, the pillows are terrible, it is impossible to sleep on them. The room is very stuffy and hot. There is no table for computer and lunch. In the rooms are not cleaned, the curtains are very light, if you rest in the daytime it is impossible to do it
- Max (4/5): - Below average accommodations for the price. The room had a strange smell and the windows didn’t have any screens on them, so we couldn’t air out the room.
- william (6/5): - Old and understaffed
- Mark (4/5): - For some reason the bottom sheets on the beds were not long enough to reach the foot of the bed. They used a second sheet underneath that tucked in at the bottom. This might have gone unnoticed except that I am tall and my feet kept getting tangled in the hem. This was both uncomfortable and frustrating.
- Jeanne (10/5): - The bed was more comfortable then i imagine, the sheets and blankets 😌 where very nice. Enjoyed everything but no tube. But the shower was nice. Thank you.
- Robert (6/5): - Overpriced for the condition of the property and room. It was clean enough and quiet. Only had two double beds (who still uses double beds) so had to sleep diagonally.
- Tova (10/5): - I do wish there were some breakfast snack, but overall this is an incredible adorable place and the room has everything I'd ever need.
- Michelle (6/5): No Communication from a Business - I am the person that booked 2 rooms for 2 guests. I'm from a major University where I pay the expenses for faculty, staff, and grad students. I tried to reach the facility numerous times to be sure my card was charged and not the guests and always received a generic greeting. I left voicemails and sent an email and no one ever responded. This is not a good service from a business. Very disappointed.
- timothy (8/5): - Clean property, friendly staff. Not fancy but very comfortable. Accessible bars at toilet and shower. Shower was strong and hot. This is an older property that is well-maintained. Owners live on the property.
We used our phone hotspot and and signed into our own Netflix account.
This proved to be a good location for 5 days in the coastal area.
- Rayisa (8/5): - So good!!😉🇺🇦
- Nereyda (8/5): - Overall was good place to stay for the convenience of it. Small but very clean!
- Tamara (10/5): - Alfonso was so nice and accommodating and made checking in a breeze! We will definitely look at staying here again next time we are in Monterey. Super convenient location and the room had everything we needed.
- Andrea (8/5): - I like the small property feel and in a great location. The tub was repaired and patched, there was no iron, and we needed more pillows.
- Marie (10/5): - Room was clean! No signs of the last occupant at all!
- Monica (10/5): - convenient to the race track. Great parking, comfortable beds
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No black out curtains as advertised. No screens on main windows so unable to get airflow. I came to Monterey from Palm Springs at 110. Can’t open windows, but was looking forward to doing it here. No microwave had to ask for iron and refrigerator.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No AC, no light at desk, stains on chair, motel does not offer ice (I need for sprained ankle), will not be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Worth it,
- Tipareth (10/5): - The stay was great. Clean and comfortable stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was average. Nothing special.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Dirty hotel with high prices …
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The road its in is loud
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The staff is unprofessional
- Verified traveler (2/5): - When we checked in, our room was extremely filthy. There was blood on the comforter and there were dirty towels on the floor. The garbage cans were full and the room was extremely dirty.
The manager gave us a different room and it was full of flies. We left and because it was a Memorial Day weekend, we paid very high price at a different hotel. But we had no choice!!
Horrible experience
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - The AC did not work but fans were available. Not their fault but power went out. Fireworks in parking lot at 2:30am. Ive never paid over $200 for a room and then when I had to it was very disappointing.
- Roger (2/5): - On the Laguna Lodge website there is NO disclosure that this hotel is ADA Non Compliant.
I am disabled and when l checked in the attendant noticed l was using crutches and then told me they only had rooms available on the 2nd floor and there was No Elevator!
- Lourdes (10/5): good - Last minute booking the man that helped me check in was so sweet and helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not so great - Kind of a run-down place. Couldn't get tv to work. Hard to find anyone to help
- Verified traveler (10/5): - wonderful customer service. Very clean and close to everything we needed.
- Justin (2/5): $180/night for this??? - SICKENINGLY expensive for nothing special at best.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again . There is other hotels better with breakfast and front desk available
- Fritz (10/5): - it worked
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Price!!!!!!Motel 6 accommodations are much better with the price gouging, could have stayed at the Hilton.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Kitchen had broken drawers and virtually no utensils. Restaurants were very far away if at all. Next time I’m scheduling a hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea a much much much much nicer area that I wouldn’t have to worry about my $100000 plus car.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean with a microwave refrigerator very good setting excellent price
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bed was too soft and was not comfortable after a few minutes it was too hot to sleep comfortably in. The TV did not have a remote control, and the electric outlet on the wall on one side of the bed was not working; thus, the light stand was not working. Since there was no air conditioning, it was hot in the night.
Otherwise, it was very clean, and the stuff was very nice.
- Andrea (8/5): - I had a good clean room at a great price. It was quiet and felt good about the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good value, friendly, clean.
Poor internet.
Bed was way too soft and the bottom sheet didn't fit.
- Michelle (8/5): - Hotel was basic no frills. Clean and comfortable. Bathtub needed to be updated but it was clean. The grounds we really nice. Would stay here again if I'm in the area. Would request room off the main road.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property was at a great price. It was also very clean!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bathtub had home made repair- strange key card didn’t give a good sense of safety
- Joni (8/5): - Our stay was very comfortable. The room was spacious and very clean. It was a perfect layout for our family of 4 (2 full grown sons). The location was perfect for the event we attended. With its full kitchen, it would be good for a stay of several days.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good - It was good very clean and quiet .
- Jose (8/5): It did it’s job - My stay was ok. It’s not my first option but it was available and was adequate. Doesn’t have the glitz and glamor of other hotels but if you need a quick booking for a nights restbthen this will definelty satisfy that.
- Jody (6/5): - You get what you pay for....this place is VERY INEXPENSIVE and its a NOO FRILLS hotel....don't expect much..although it was clean....
- Daniil (6/5): - The price was ok
- Palmi (8/5): - What a lovely inn! I have to say, it's the cleanest and freshest you'll find. Nothing fancy, but comfortable, clean and cozy. Decent location too! The only thing I'd suggest for improvement is to have a more comfortable mattress, but overall, pleasant and great value for the money : )
- Jen (10/5): - Comfortable clean quiet room, close to everything good value
- Cozy (10/5): - It was clean and cozy! Perfect place to shower, rest and sleep! This was our second stay here and we will be back.
- michael (10/5): Value Vacation Buy - A budget Motel on the second Floor within a short distance from the pricey hotels of Monterey, CA. No Air Conditioning. but fans are provided. Staff is nice and Dish TV if you want to watch TV.
- PK (8/5): - Reasonable access. Clean linen, comfortable bed and ample space. Toiletries, wash basin, strong shower, curtain, and toilet, all clean and functional. Need more decent cloth hangers.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average place nothing WOW - Did not like the location very seedy area
- Mary T McGovern (10/5): - very good
- sandeep (6/5): Montrey - Pricey. Lacked amenities. Not Located at very desirable area.
- Albert (2/5): - DO NOT STAT HERE! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! We were in a rush and had to book a hotel quickly, this was absolutely overpriced for what we got, but was our only option. For $250 a night we expected something decent but no. They advertised free WiFi but the WiFi just did not work. Our whole stay the WiFi would not work. It was also a very crappy hotel room, with the only things then providing being a coffeemaker with minimal coffee supplies, a microwave, a mini fridge, two bars of soap, and one tiny tube of shampoo. There wasn't even free breakfast. At the end of our stay they would not help us with the WiFi problem and would not compensate in any way. I would never stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Basic Hotel I'd Return To - When we pulled into the motel's parking lot around 5 pm, I noticed that there were only two other cars. Combining this with how bare bones the place looks from the outside made me a little concerned about the area and whether I'd accidentally picked a poor place to stay. However I didn't have anything to worry: the man at the check-in was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the parking lot was full by 9 pm. I wouldn't stay here as part of anything romantic, but for a budget conscious short stay in the area with my kids, I'd definitely return.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Busy highway and noisy neighbors - The motel itself was ok. The location was busier than the picture of the place depicted. The traffic never stopped. Too far from the dunes to walk. Basically an ok road side stop if you need sleep. But not recreational.
- Darryl (2/5): Terrible Stay - Very old motel that has had very little improvements. Pictures on website do not represent the real rooms. Reminded me of a bunk house for work crews. Had a full kitchen, but very old. Counters were dirty and the laminet was misding in several places. Smelled like smoke since people smoke right outside the windows. The only good thing was the woman at the office was nice. Wouldn't ever recommend it.
- Robert (8/5): Surprising Gem - This place was a nice surprise from most independent places I've experienced. The room was very clean, comfortable, and up to date with any good chain at a better price. The only things that it gets a downgrade for is that the rooms have no A/C and is next to a busy road. My room was closest to the road and I had the windows open and it was LOUD! I had no problem sleeping through but I know others who this would be impossible.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room provided for our family of 5 to all have their own bed. No amenities per set. Staff was excellent, friendly and accommodating. One recommendation, label one of your parking spaces as handicap accessible as there are only a few places to get through to the sidewalk to access the room.
- james (6/5): OK room, WiFi and bed. Phone and TV didn’t work. - The good: The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the furniture in decent condition. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave that I did not use. The parking lot was small but appeared sufficient. The WiFi worked OK.
The not so good: the room phone was dead (not a big deal if you have a cell phone, but a room phone is very useful if you need to contact the manager at night or your cell phone breaks). The channel selector on the TV only had one channel. I didn’t call management because the room phone was broken. The light switch by the door didn’t turn on any lights. Road noise was louder than I would expect. Room was expen$ive ($125) because of high season.
- Charlene (10/5): Nice for the price for a short stay - Stayed the night with my 3 year old and her father, all went well. Very clean and nice inside the rooms. No nasty floral print scratchy blankets.
