Guest Reviews
- Stanford (8/5): Overall wonderful stay in a good location. - The location was great. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Supplies were sufficient. Although staff was not always present, they communicated very well and frequently which was good. Parking could easily be problematic since there are limited spots on the streets. I think breakfast should be included in the booking, not a separate charge. The booking was already expensive such that guests staying multiple nights should receive a complimentary breakfast like elsewhere.
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant - Charming hotel. Good location. Very clean. Good breakfast Air-conditioning poor. Couldn't get the room below 26 degrees all night so hot and un comfortable. If I was staying more than 1 night I would have checked out before night 2. Shame as very nice hotel except for temperature. Needs sorting. WiFi not fully functional.
- Wendy (9/5): Beautiful stay in the centre of an attractive village. - Great central building and lovely rooms. There didn’t seem to be a car park, but luckily it was easy to park in the street.
- Piotr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marko (10/5): Exceptional - Lokacija, udobnost, cisto Sve je bilo dobro
- Francis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edith (9/5): Superb -
- Bojan (10/5): Generaly it was perfect. - Everything was ok. It wasn't quiet at night with the window open, but the hotel could not has control over that, it was in the street.
- Roger (7/5): Good - Breakfast was very good in the beginning. Very nice location. Super clean. Breakfast was not as good as in the beginning (no fruits anymore). Low quality mattresses and slatted frames.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Nice hotel that is affiliated with the largest local winery. Staff was great both at the hotel and at the winery tasting room. Elevator was a plus since we were on an upper floor. Town is very quiet and many restaurants were closed when we were there. Not a hotel issue but guests should be aware for planning purposes.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Filip (10/5): Exceptional - Room was nice and comfortable Nothing
- Dewi (6/5): Pleasant - I had a disabled persons bathroom with disable tlilet grab rails and toilet even though the hoyel was largely empty
- Mike (10/5): A very nice 3 night stay in a little village close to Puglia wine country - This is a small boutique hotel hidden in a little village of 6000 + local residents. Very private with gorgeous interior architecture. Parking is on the street and fairly close to the hotel. Trips to local Vineyards and wineries are a short drive away. Our bedroom suite was a split-level affair. Bathroom was on the upper level, four steps down to the main sleeping / living level. Somewhat challenging in the middle of the night. Typical of many European hotels and guest houses they do not have anti-skid safety strips in the shower / tub. Very dangerous.
- Allan (9/5): Lovely hotel great service - Everything was as expected - all extremely good for a stopover en route south. Nothing
- Gianluca (8/5): A good stay away from main cities. Everything fine but the very noisy A/C. - Clean and well kept 4-stars hotel, quiet even if right downtown. Friendly staff, good breakfast, free and safe parking. Very noisy A/C
- Zoe (8/5): Very good - Good breakfast, large rooms, comfortable beds, very friendly staff. Not the property, but the area is a small, very quiet village. Cafes/restaurants were only open in the evening (7:30pm ish) and some never opened. Travelled late Sept. Made eating at lunch time difficult!
- Marco (10/5): Fabulous location and property. Would highly recommend it. - Decor, location and cleanliness were all excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. Nothing
- Kerstin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Costel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernie (9/5): Lovely hotel with character. - Very clean and comfortable hotel with bags of character. The room was a delight. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Private parking is in a secure garage but It's limited however there is plenty of free street parking available if the private parking is full. Nothing
- Lorraine (10/5): Wonderful and excellent stay. - Exceptional, there is no other word. Quiet and clean, staff helpful and friendly. Room size is quite large and comfy.
Location was very good and street parking was free with no problems at all.Restaurants are close to hotel and good. Nothing
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Lipani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect - Het is een heel mooi klassiek hotel, stijlvol.
Ontbijt lekker.
- Marco (9/5): Amazing boutique hotel - Amazing boutique hotel in the historical city center. Extremely clean, comfortable and stylish. Very good breakfast as well. Helpful staff who took care of our requests. I would have appreciated two neighboring rooms as we were traveling with our kids. Nevertheless, the rooms were on the same floor. In the end, it was not a problem at all.
- Yaffa-Cillan (8/5): A convenient place to visit Salento. - A beautiful hotel in an unremarkable, if quite and agreeable, village. The rooms are gorgeous in every detail but the bathroom, which would correspond, in my opinion, to an accomodation of a lower quality. Breakfast is OK. The hotel is close to a number of lovely cafés, pizzerie and places to eat some local cheese (which is excellent).
We would like to stress the kindness and profesionality of the staff. If you need somebody who can speak Spanish ask for Noemi. They all are nice and efficient and, without ignoring the rest, we would like to thank Noemi and Silvia.
- Sasa (10/5): Exceptional - The room was nice, spacious and has a very pleasant smell. The hotel is in a great position. The staff is great, very accommodating and will be happy to give you all the information.
- Rafał (10/5): Good value for money, fantastic staff - The staff was very friendly and helpful. Particularly Mirko, who helped a lot in planning the trips and arranging everything. I really appreciate his help.
- Manfred (10/5): - Not enough own parking space
- Agnieszka (10/5): Exceptional - A small boutique hotel in well renovated building in the center of the city. Very nice and helpful staff. The breakfast was taste and variety. A pleasant stay.
- pamp72 (10/5): Ancient Fantastic place! - I spent one night in this accommodation: the room was very spacious on the second floor, and the bathroom had a shower. Good breakfast on the ground floor. Reserved parking, excellent. Mr. Mirko provided me with all the information to make the most of my stay, really helpful!
- Basil (10/5): lovely quite location - very helpful and friendly
- Giannis (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is beautiful , very well decorated . It is in the central of town with parking. The stuff is very helpful and kind.
Very positive experience and I would definitely stay there if I’m around there .
- Ofer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miamontreal (10/5): Exceptional - Room was large with a balcony overlooking a church and was really just as the pictures showed. Staff were extra nice and when we needed help with something were quick to respond. Parking was easily found on the street. Pizzeria around the corner that staff suggested was excellent. Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - The cafes and bars next to the hotel
- Carole (9/5): Wonderful find - would definitely stay if visiting Puglia - It was very Italian in style with lovely decor. Our bed was very comfy and the breakfast choice was excellent. The hotel is situated near to two restaurants within walking distance which was a bonus. Our favourite was the Pizzeria on the corner.
The staff at the hotel were exceptional and we would definitely stay again. Bear in mind though there is not really anything to do in Cellino San Marco but it is a good base to visit other places like Ostuni and Lecce. Only negative comment was the shower handle kept coming off. We were informed that it was in the process of being repaired.
- Marco (9/5): Superb -
- Najwa (8/5): pleasant stay - The reception staff, Mirko, was very friendly and attentive. He tried very hard to give us all possible directions. The breakfast was very poor, it needs to improve a lot
- Joanne (9/5): Superb - The manager was very helpful, the building was beautiful and the rooms. Good location. Nothing
- Ray (10/5): Beautiful Hotel in a lovely town with charming locals willing to engage. - Located in the centre of a small rural town the hotel holds a prime location just across from a small square which has a couple of nice bars full of beautiful local people. The decor is amazing inside the hotel. A small cafe in the hotel would have been an added bonus, our room no 6 had a step in shower which was difficult to control.
- Stefano (9/5): Superb - I travel often for both business and leisure but it happened rarely to meet such a friendly and helpful staff, I wanted to remak this as I think it's one of the perks of this facility. The hotel itself is in the very center of the town in a beautiful and probably historical building. The room was big, comfortable, and clean. The way it is furnished makes you feel you sleep in a castle!
- Buehler (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic, nice, newly renovated hotel.
- Luca (10/5): Excellent - The staff attitude, especially Mirko and Fabiola! The rooms were very comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast was great - with the best pasticciotto! Nothing
- Richard (10/5): A perfect base to explore from. - The hotel is in the centre of a sleepy little town. Parking is on street and we had no problem parking right outside the main door throughout our stay. The hotel is very nice, we would call it a boutique hotel where everything is of outstanding quality, spotlessly clean, and smelling beautifully. The Breakfasts were continental and great, far more than anyone could eat. Our room was beautiful albeit hotter than we would have liked, I believe there was a problem with the Aircon whilst we were there so I doubt you'd have a problem. This is a wonderful place to stay for a few nights to explore the reagion We're happy to highly recommend it.
I need to make a special mention for the staff, everyone, and I mean everyone was wonderful and couldn't do too much for you. Nothing, everything was lovely.
- J7402NCkareng (10/5): Fabulous Small Hotel, Big on Service & Quality - This should definitely be 5*.
The luxury, quality, service and food were outstanding, sheer opulence.
8 luxury rooms, serviced by at least 4 staff. We were treated to gold star service too.
The wines at €6 a bottle, Yes, not a glass, we're the best we had in all of Puglia.
Anything we wanted, restaurants, local Spa etc was arranged for us by the amazing staff.
We honestly felt like VIP Guests.
For the ridiculously cheap price of the rooms, you're getting a stay like being at The Rotz.
Cannot recommend this highly enough.
- Olivier (10/5): Great hotel and friendly staff - Great design and furniture, very friendly staff with excellent restaurant and visit recommendations, confortable bed
- Julián (10/5): Great place - Nice hotel, clean rooms, great location, good wifi. Mirko at the front desk was amazing. He also arranged a wine tasting to cantine due palme for a fair price. It is 20 min by car to Brindisi and Lecce. Everything was perfect
- Egle (10/5): Mirko is fantastic, we will be back 🙂 - everything eas excellent - staff, location, parking, room. We have dinner near hotel in Da Zio Gianni, we tried local food, it was interesting expierence everything is perfect
- Yosef (10/5): Beyond the hotel's obvious quality, we particularly appreciated the hospitality service of Mirko, - The breakfast was generous and varied (salty and sweet).
- Marnie (9/5): Culturally wonderful experience, beautifully run and all thanks to Mirko!! - Mirko the manager and his staff went above and beyond to help and make our stay memorable. It is beautifully decorated very quiet and a wonderful breakfast. A great Italian small town experience. Not a problem just know that it is in a very small town so be prepared to travel or have stores closed.
Our air conditioner didn’t work but every effort was made to fix it.
- Conseil (10/5): Mirko!!! - This is the “Mirko” Hotel. If you want a 5 stars services like in Parisian Palaces, go there. The host, Mirko, goes above and beyond and do way better than more Butlers. A great experience with a great hotel thanks to him! We will be back =)
- Polonita (9/5): Baroque styled room with bit of pampering - The friendly and welcoming greeting at the reception. The present in the room- a bottle of local wine. Parking space. There is no dedicated parking for the hotel visitors, you can park on the street where is allowed. Though I visited of season, can not imagine how it is during summer.
- Frederic (10/5): FANTASTIC !! - If you land to Brindisi; take your time to drive to Cellino San Marco and stay at Kelina hotel. It is a WONDERFUL discovery. Mirko has been super welcoming and so helpfull. The design of the room is amazing, beds are comfortable and the breakfast was really good. We appreciated so much the bottle of red wine as a welcoming gift. To summarize: go, go, go to Kelina hotel not enough time spent at the hotel...
- 432fredericw (10/5): Go go go !!!!😍❤️👍👍👍 - Fantastic !!!! What a great experience !!! This hotel is a beautiful discovery . The architecture, the rooms, the service: just excellent. A special thank you to Mirko who has been so helpful before , during and even after our stay at the hotel . You made our stay unforgettable
- William (9/5): Nice place, amazing room, great staff 😀 - Beautiful room and amazing staff The room was boiling hot in the middle of the night. We had to open the window but as it only opens a little it took a while to cool down. Otherwise it was a great stay
- JoanneC543 (10/5): A warm welcome - A really beautiful hotel in a small, traditional Italian town.
We arrived late in the day and were warmly welcomed at reception by a lady who parked the car for us and then walked to the local pizza restaurant with us to book a table- couldn’t be more helpful.
Room is opulent and clean with a lovely bathroom.
Breakfast was arranged early to suit our early flight- beautiful warm pasties and bread-superb!
Perfect base for a short visit.
Highly recommend.
- Poopster (10/5): Great Hotel with Fantastic Staff - We stayed at this hotel on the first night of a three week Italian holiday. The town is quiet but interesting. The hotel staff, especially the man responsible for checking us in and parking our car (and finding us a place to eat) was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful in trying to assist a couple of English speaking Canadians.
- fiftyplus_9 (10/5): Off the beaten track in Puglia - Wonderful stay , great comfortable room with plenty of space overlooking square
Fabio and the staff are so helpful and arranged a wine tour for us
Very central for visiting both coasts We went to Lecce by train but drove to Otranto and the White City
The town is not at all touristy which we loved You really feel you're in Italy but the locals are helpful in the few shops available - deli fruit shop and supermarket
We ate at Gusto in san Pietro V as we were on a secret escapes deal which included our excellent evening meal - see our review
Thanks once again to Fabio for making us welcome
- geoff (8/5): A good hotel base for touring the heel of Italy. - We booked this hotel as we wanted a hotel that was central to the heel of the boot of Italy so we could travel to the various towns like Lecce, Otranto, Ostuni, Gallipoli etc which were all within about an hour of the hotel. We arrived at Cellino san Marco just after midday and found there was nothing open in the town, no movement at all and thought we had come to a film set of the remake of "On The Beach", a film about a neuclear disaster. We found the hotel okay and one of the staff was awaiting us and after being booked in we were supplied with a light lunch since everything else in the town was closed.
Our room was spacious, had a very comfortable big bed, a good roomy bathroom, plenty of storage space, a fridge but no in room tea or coffee. We were on the first floor that overlooked the street. car parking was free in the street outside. The wi fi connection was a bit intermittent, dropping out occasionally. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options, good coffee but no hot food apparently. The management were most helpful and gave us assistance to local restuarants and places to visit.
The town had a certain charm to it of an evening when it came to life and shops opened and the old men came to the town centre to play cards and sit and talk. The nearby ice cream shop lady was also very friendly giving us big serves of her delicious ice cream
- arrowod (6/5): A good choice for a few days but for sure not for longer - This hotel is nice for a short stay of one or two days. It is clean, the room is nice, breakfast ok and the bathroom is fine. It is absolutely charming.
But for a longer stay this hotel is unsufficient. For us it was a 14 day base; in that time we discovered Puglia in every direction. We had 14 breakfasts that were an exact copy of the day before (no eggs other than boiled, every day the same bread (while the supermarket has such great bread), every day the same juices, meats and chees. Even the music was the same for more than a week.
Staff was ok, but not very pro-active. Respons was not ok always. Though we asked for it the airco did not work for two weeks, and two out of three lamps did not work in our room for the whole period. In common, there is a lot of nightly outside noise when people use the toilet.
But also: the room is very clean, the shower was the best we have ever had, staf was friendly (a little bit better english will be better), the bed was good. Coffee was nice. So, for a short stay book this hotel, it is worth it. For longer, go somewhere else.
- JAYME R C (4/5): A Refurbished Old House Transformed in Hotel - Although the décor could be questionable by many, the refurbishing created interesting ambiences. It is clear for me that the owner tried to use high quality materials, providing the best for their guests, including a modern elevator. By the way, the worse aspects related to this accommodation are: the absolute inefficiency of the central air conditioning system during high summer, the distance to Lecce, the absence of private parking (our car was parked on the street) and tub leakage during shower.
- Alex (10/5): Extraordinary - We arrived late but our host was very nice and everything was perfect . The breakfast was excellent and don’t forget to drink some wine from the local factory because you are in the village of wine. The rooms are better than in the photos.
- Nathan (10/5): - This hotel is nothing like I have ever stayed in before, but very nice. The decor is very cool and we felt comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff is very helpful and polite. We had no complaints about our stay. If you do not have a car and want to visit Lecce often you may want to stay a little closer to the city. Cellino San Marco is nice but there is not much to do there. Try the ice cream next door it is very nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Well appointed hotel in quiet town - Lovely hotel with some elegant features. Town is very quiet in terms of activities but a good place from which to tour the local area. Only about 30 minutes from the nice beach resort of Porto Cesareo.
- dmugrditchian (10/5): Perfect base to explore Puglia + Matera (Basilicata) - Cellino San Marco is located in the midst of ancient vineyards and olive groves. I celebrated St Sylvestre at this hotel Salento style. It was wonderful! Received roses in my room on my birthday. The dinners were excellent. The wine list extensive.. Primitivo, Negroamarone, Malvaise and the rare Sussumaniole (spelling?). Indoor parking for the car. The staff warm and attentive. I was there for 5 nights. Explored different parts of Puglia each day. The two coasts (from Gallipoli on Ionic coast to San Cataldo on Adriatic coast via S Maria di Leuca, Lecce, On the last day, I made a 2 hour trip to Matera in the adjacent province of Basilicata -- extraordinary caves and rock churches. Was simply wonderful!
- DOMENICO (10/5): STANZA MERAVIGLIOSA - SUITE MERAVIGLIOSA...COLORI CALDI E RAFFINATI
PER FAR SENTIRE LA PROPRIA COMPAGNA " UNA REGINA " ....
COMPLIMENTI
- januandedus (10/5): Fantastic jewel - This hotel is amazing. Every single detail has been taken into account. The rooms are large and cozy, the common areas luxurious and neat. The breakfast is varied and delicious. Given that the hotel is not very large, a bond is created with the staff. Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (10/5): It was a very nice hotel. - It was a very nice hotel. It was a very nice hotel. It was a very nice hotel. It was a very nice hotel.
- nancycW9950IH (8/5): Wedding Hotel - The Hotel was charming. We attended a Wedding in the town and it was right across the street from the Church. The staff was very helpful and nice. Wonderful Breakfast. Nice rooms, Great service. Very pleasant experience.
- Andreas-Vasso (10/5): An excellent hotel for honeymoon - We stayed there for two days. The room was exceptionally good, spacious & luxury. The personnel were very kind and willing to assist us at any time and their hospitality was great.
Very good value for money!
- MariaK834 (10/5): Fantastic! - We where very surprised to find such a good hotel with wonderful rooms!
The hospitality of the personel is fantastic, they brought our car to and from their private garage to the hotel. They made a lot of afford to book us in to a restaurant on Christmas-eve.
The Christmas-lunch at Kelina-hotel was so good, that will be our best memory to book again on our holiday to this region.
- JandJFarnhamCommon (4/5): Hotel with no water - A long drive from Ravello plus an hour spent in Brindisi trying to book a ferry to Greece, one way streets and a thunder storm left us in no state to fully appreciate the finer trappings of the entrance to this Hotel. The room was impressive but there was no pressure to the hot water supply when we try to freshen-up and no effort from the front desk to anything about it. At 2140 we went into the dining room (the only people) and at 2225 we eventually got served! Jackie had prawns, must enjoyed but for a hotel with such a high opinion of itself a finger bowl would have appreciated. We were charged E18 for a bottle of house white. Returning to our room we now had water and were able to shower. To get the ferry for Greece, we were up at 5am this time, no water at all!! Breakfast was average albeit the overnight Receptionist tried to be as helpful as he could giving us a bottle of water to brush our teeth. If you are in the area for a ferry, choose a hotel in Brindisi.
- Reisverslaafd (10/5): Perfect hotel with great staff, centrally located in the Brindisi and Salento area. - We spent several days in Kelina Hotel to explore the region. Cellino San Marco itself as a village is not very interesting, but it is a good central location to visit Lecce, Gallipoli, Otranto, etc. The hotel is very new and stylishly decorated. The restaurant is good as well and the staff are wonderful. Very good value for money!
