Smile55409 (6/5): Understaffed and too high concept - Clean hotel. And good location. But staff was overwhelmed seemingly more focused on their side hustle as baristas at the libby coffee shop. Whatever this concept is its dumb. The room was overloaded with free standing furniture and poorly designed. I dont mind a small room in an old historic building but this is just odd and haphazard. Overall this didn’t meet expectations. Loved Pittsburgh.

The staff was very friendly and super responsive to our requests. We valeted our car and it was always waiting for us when we arrived downstairs. We will definetly be back when we are in town.
Natalia (1/5): - Mattress comfortable, breakfast OK, location great. Absolutely horrible experience. I spent 4 nights in this hotel… "by Hilton". I travel a lot for business, usually looking for hotels with good value for money, so no fancy stuff for me. -> so I am used to small inconveniences now and then. I do have patience and understanding. But this was waaay too much. Arrived late at night, the front desk informed me that I need to pay for the whole stay + security deposit. I was sure my company had already paid via booking, but they denied it. The next day of course I received payment confirmation and the hotel had to return the second payment. Then I went into the room, and there was an extremely loud fan that worked non-stop, it was not AC, but something from the central air system. Absolutely impossible to stay in the room due to noise. Had to change the rooms. Whatever the hotel considers to be a "working desk" – is not, it is a piece of wood screwed into the wall, no electric plug anywhere near. Asked the front desk for an extension cord, they said they don’t have any. So I went to Target nearby and bought one myself. But little did I know, that this "working desk" wouldn’t serve me long. On the second day the desk came out of the wall, so incorrectly it was mounted. I just had my computer, hands and bottle of water, and it didn’t survive such heavy stuff. In the morning of the third day I let the front desk know about it, they said maintenance will solve this, maintenance came at 8:40 PM and told me they will not drill the wall, because it’s late. I suppose I was staying in a circus, not in a hotel. So i had to use ironing board as a desk. During the whole stay there were problems with AC, at that time it was even 14°F (-10°C) in Pittsburgh. No way to have steady temperature in the room. However somehow manageable, I didn’t freeze to death. However before the last night the AC broke, it blew only cold air, I had 62.5°F (17°C), until finally maintenance came in the evening to repair it.

The toilet paper holder is damaged, and there was a hole in the carpeting, and couldn't find the outdoor lounge, because there was no signage when you get off the elevator. And several of the electrical outlets didn't work.

Hotel staff and valet staff very disconnected and clearly did not communicate well but nothing that overly affected our stay. We only stayed one night and would do so again.

The concierge checking us in didn’t really care about much and had a weird attitude. The room had water damage and dirt all over, everything was dusty as well. Breakfast was nice and definitely worth the price.

Main lobby and front desk is confusing as it doubles as the coffee bar and frontaq desk so actually saying "hello and welcome" would have in line with what I expect as a Hilton Honors Gold member from other properties. Asked to see fitness room and staff gave incorrect and incomplete instructions. Like I was bothering them to even ask. TV channels in room blocked college football games. Front desk informed me I can come watch at the bar. Mini fridge in room froze all of our food and drinks.

Down side: The fronr desk staff arent poised to offer quality customer service and are short staffed. As a result despite repeated asks for extra towels and pillows my requests went unanswered. I was told they onky had 1 person working ang the next shift would help. When i told the daytime feont desk staff about a broken soap dispenser (be forwarned there is no nar soap to be had here) they wrote it down saod someone would come right away and no one ever came. The restaurant was non functional. They all seem to be pleasant but apathetic. Bonus points: They have a lovely rooftop deck with Amazing views.

LeeAnn (8/5): Cute and chic downtown hotel in Pittsburgh - Very cute and pleasant hotel, location wise it was pretty central to everything with short Uber. Parking valet available and staff was attentive at all times. Room itself was very nice, well lit, spacious and clean. Had all the typical amenities you would find in any hotel (ex. Hair dryer, mini fridge, coffee machine, safe, etc.). Bathroom is large and several mirrors for getting ready with plenty of towels and toiletries for use. Restaurant was okay, seemed to be out of a lot of things but decent breakfast. The decor in the lobby and in the hotel restaurant was chic and comfortable. Enjoyed my stay, and would rebook again especially given the location and price for the room. Only two small elevators in the hotel, found myself often waiting for long periods of time for it to arrive or squeezing into it with other guest. Became easily crowded with luggage, but waiting for the next one would take a while, especially when coming back from a long day or rushing out the door. Shower did not have a lip at the edge, and drain in my room was slow. Beware of potential flooding and subsequent slipping or falling. Heating and cooling in the room was strange, was set to 65 degrees when checked in which was freezing ac but when changed to 69-70 degrees the heat switched on. None of it particularly bothersome to negate the stay, just little things I personally noticed.

Two cans also wiped out the entire stock of local craft beers! Oh, and the espresso machine in the restaurant was also kaput.

Reed (10/5): A great midweek get away to attend a concert, with beautiful views at night of the city. - We had a double room, because our friends were supposed to stay with us, but they didn't come. I was glad we did because we have stayed in the hotel before and the room was sooo small without a window in the room where the bed was and I almost asked for a different room because I am claustrophobic. So, I really enjoyed the double room with two windows and the extra space. Our favorite thing about the hotel is the terrace, we sometimes pick this hotel because of the terrace. The location is good too for parking with the garage being right next door. We had about a 0.7 to 0.8 mile walk to PPG Paints for a concert. Not a bad walk at all! We do really enjoy the hotel, just may always request a bigger room in the future. Thsi stay was perfect, just will be sure to request bigger rooms in the future, due to experiences with staying in the hotel in the past.

The location was just a few minutes drive to U Pitt campus and much less expensive that hotels on or near campus. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff was OK, but not overly friendly. Something to work on. One thing we loved, and I can’t overstate this, was the TV was set up to select the guest’s favorite streaming service with their own user account snd password so we could watch one of our favorite shows. This should be standard everywhere! Overall I would recommend this place and will stay here again.
