• Torii (10/5): Quiet, cozy stay - One of the best location when staying in Tredegar - you got everything you need right here and there. It's fairly easy to enter the facility and the instructions are clear, too. Host is awesome. The Entrance Gate is just a bit slow when opening but other than that it's all good. It's just a minor thing so not too bad. It can get cold in the rooms but you can preferably change the temperature. (More of a feedback and not really what I 'dislike'. :) )

• Karolina (10/5): Very accessible - Great location: We came for a night stay so that we get to climb Pan Y Fan early morning to catch the sunrise on the New Year’s Day. It was also very accessible for me: I often get refused to stay at places with my guide dog even though it’s against the law, but I had no issues at all at The Castle Lodge. They even went above and beyond to make the check in process much easier. I had no issues at all. I would gladly stay here again.

• Kate (10/5): Co - We loved the cleanliness and size of each room, the facilities in the kitchen and bathroom including a little room with useful things like a fan (especially in the summer), vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board. On site parking would have been ideal however we had free overnight parking in the church car park across the road which our hosts advised us of prior to arriving which we really appreciated.

Also couldn't get heating right, very cold in some rooms and one bedroom way too hot

• Jim (10/5): Fantastic stay in Tredegar at the Castle - Location and facilities of the apartment were both excellent. Nice sized living room with good speed internet and some Freeview channels on the TV. Well equipped kitchen with washing machine. Stayed here as part of a motorbike tour of South Wales, there was secure off road parking for our motorbikes. A bit noisy at night with the boy and girl.racers. Would have been a full 5 out of 5 rather than 4 if not for a few cleaning observations.

Pub 75 metres up the road selling ale for less than £2 a pint. Fantastic restaurants and cafes within a two minute walk. What a diamond little place!

• Martin (8/5): Clean and well equipped. - Very clean and well equipped. Check in information good. Getting information on how to check out at 1:55 in the morning was less than helpful as it woke us up. We have to leave some alerts on as husband receives medical alerts overnight. It may not be a problem for those who can switch a do not disturb on. Also had to message to request an internet password for the medical monitoring. Owner was very helpful and provided it straight away but it would be helpful to have it available if internet is included as there was no signal in the accommodation at all. Would be lovely in winter as it appears to have underfloor heating which we were unable to turn off. Kitchen and hallway floors were very hot when you walked on them. Not great last night when it was about 18 degrees but would be lovely at any other time.

• Andres (8/5): Great base to explore Wales - Great place to visit Brecon Beacons. The apartments have been recently renovated, we occupied few of them with friends. They are lovely, very clean and well furnished. Don't look too hard on Tredegar and focus on the outdoors around it.

• Jessica (10/5): Fantastic base for exploring Brecon - Extremely clean and comfortable stay. We only stayed a couple of nights whilst we explore Brecon but it was perfect. Comfy beds and plenty of space.

Everything worked and there was just about enough equipment in the kitchen, although we did not cook and I suspect it would not be very successful if you tried. Small Shower worked ok. Nasty mattresses. Very small uncomfortable beds - Not really large enough for two people. Very small bedrooms and bathroom. Everything in the apartment is of the cheapest lowest possible quality. No tea or coffee or salt or indeed anything supplied in the kitchen.

Had a problem with the wifi not working but the host gave us different details. Even that Wifi was hit and miss. Was very noisy at night. Parties going on until the morning with people arguing most of the night keeping us all awake. This happened on both the nights we slept in the apartment. Walls and windows are very thin so we couldn’t block it out at all.

• Ross (10/5): Best accommodation in wales - This must be the first time I've been away and everything was perfect.The location, the hosts, the cleanliness of the apartment. Before we arrived we received easy to follow instructions on how to access the apartment. The castle pub downstairs is a good vibe and full of nice people. The hosts Tony and Sharon are very nice people, very helpful. I wish we had stayed longer and I will definitely be staying here again. The kitchen and bathrooms looked like they we're fitted yesterday, very well looked after and clean. Beds are comfortable. WiFi is good and TV has enough channels. I will definitely be returning here. If you debating where to stay just book here it won't get better. 🙂 No faults with this place

The apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. Free parking, and as the apartments are behind code controlled gates, very secure. Personally I couldn't get the WiFi to work but that is probably more down to me than an issue with Castle Lodge as they did provide the code & password. Value for money, very good Everything was fine, nothing to find fault with, you got what you paid for

Local people in the pub were also very friendly. Would definitely come here again. All good really. Maybe the sofa with a higher back would be a little more comfortable after a long day’s walk.

• Benjamin (5/5): Budget accommodation - Beds were comfortable & property looked fairly new & clean. Communication was very good. Host helpful. 2nd floor - steep metal stairs - slippery when wet. Heating didn't work & was freezing. T.V was old & kept saying insert veiwing card & wifi dongle removed - not what you expect - upgrade to a smart TV it's now standard. Very basic accommodation- poor finish on bathroom lino, fuse box exposed, poorly equipped kitchen, no tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc that all others have provided as courtesy. The pub downstairs was noisy but that's to be expected.

Facilities were very good. Could do with hooks on backs of doors for clothes. We found the rooms a little cold. Windows needing cleaning - couldn’t see out.
• Julie (10/5): Friendly staff, spacious, fully equipped 2 bedroom apartment - Spacious, clean 2 bedroom apartment with fully equipped kitchen (including washing machine/drier), large lounge , good, hot shower and comfy beds. The accommodation is secure with a self locking gate at the entry to the building. There is a pub at the front of the complex but no noise could be heard at all in our unit. The room was heated when we arrived. What we particularly appreciated was the friendly reception we received with a late booking and arrival time. (previous accommodation was cancelled unexpectedly.). We highly recommend Castle Lodge.
