- Peter (5/5): Great location but rooms are what you’d expect on a school residential - Good location. Breakfast available. Secure carpark Mattresses very uncomfortable! Window blind didn’t shut fully so let a lot of light through in the morning, causing us to wake up. No dressing mirror. Room seemed tired. Bathroom ok but electric shower not the most powerful in the world. All in all, definitely not value for money. Won’t be staying again

- Jane (6/5): Handy for the royal Welsh showground but look out for access issues - It was comfortable, and the rooms were fine for basic accommodation. The staff were friendly. We booked because the location is within the showground. Nobody told us the gates get locked and so we ended up with a really long walk round to get back in the evening. We'd only gone for food and there was no information about food being available at the hotel, so we needn't have got locked out in this way.

Our complaint is with bedroom Room 15 lower ground floor The room was slit into two sections a bed in each room, was very unkept, carpet had stains walls were also marked. Bedclothes we’re relatively clean but very dirty under covers( photos att ). Furniture was very poor.Blinds to windows were broken but we’re repaired on request. Management were very negative when room quality was questioned telling us it was a deluxe twin room when asking management about quality he agreed it was not deluxe but was only one available,(not as shown on website). Room was very cold as only single glazed and rear fire exit door was left open all night. Because of state of bed we actually slept fully clothed on top of bed with towels as protection from bed, their was hair and fluff on quilts picture att. I think we should have a total refund as quality was not up to what you would expect from Booking .com

- robin (1/5): - This venue is obviously had good reviews, but that didn’t reflect my experience. I felt I was overcharged for the quality of the room which I’ll be taking up with Booking.com. The hotel postcode won’t be good enough to find the venue as you’ll need to go to the back of the Welsh Showground. I rang the hotel as I was lost and they were very helpful - what didn’t help me? There was a dog show or something similar and their vehicles and dogs everywhere. Driving through the Showground was challenging. I did ask the hotel if they had what three words, of which they were saying they were working out. When I got to the hotel, I showed them the what three words on my phone, and they still said they were working out. I’m not sure what there is to work out. Room was tiny. Not good value at all. The corridor was dark and I needed my mobile phone flashlight to put the key in the door. Toiletries were minuscule, and I mean minuscule I appreciate the hotels of the Welsh Showground, I think right at the back. I asked the hotel staff about getting a taxi into town and they said “not a chance”. So that was me scuppered going out for a pint that evening.

Staff member who checked us in was extremely helpful and accommodating, we had just got in from a day of riding in the rain and the member of staff was extremely helpful when we needed to dry our gear.

A special thank you to the receptionist who checked us in — he went above and beyond, even meeting my colleague at the roadside to guide her safely to the hotel. Truly exceptional service. We enjoyed a lovely curry and drinks in the evening, and the room was peaceful, spacious, and very comfortable. Highly recommended.

However if we needed to go that way again we would stay there.

- Juanita (10/5): Value for money, and comfortable accommodation - We found the room to be adequate for an overnight stay, and comfortable. The quality of the bed and bedding was excellent, and warranted a positive comment from us. We would definitely recommend anyone staying there. The only slight drawback was the shower boiler, which is an in-line electric instant heater, which could not be set any hotter. It is always nice to have a really hot shower in cold weather. It was not very hot, but was not cold.

- Jude (1/5): I do not recommend - Nothing Difficult to find. No signs at all to help. Unhelpful staff on check in, couldn't tell us when the bar would open or if food would be available. Room wasn't clean and was very basic. It smelt musty, and damp. No mirror, pink mould in the shower. Two single beds with very thin duvets and no spare blankets or cushions. Blinds at window not in good order and no curtains. wardrobe with missing door, no chair at all. Access to where car was parked through a fire door which had been propped open with a fire extinguisher! We left and didn't stay. Missed a call from the owner on way home saying we were given wrong room and would be like to come back but was driving so didn't get the message until i was home. Emailed the business direct and through Booking.com with concerns. No response. I just wish I had taken photos but we couldn't wait to leave.

Would obviously meet the needs of traders attending a show at the showground - We had to find a quick overnight stay, that was on the ground floor to suit my non weight bearing husband on crutches. It served its purpose, the bed was extremely comfortable. Very basic. You needed to sit down to see in the mirror over the sink, not good for a man shaving. Not good value for money.

Because it's inside the showground - its a PITA to get to - I went when they were setting up for the annual show...security jobs worths. Staff unsure about room allocation and I ended up in a family room. The room was on a corridoor like a hostel - with multiple squeeking open/closed echo slamming banging doors all night long. contractors wedging external fire doors open and shouting & laughing etc all night. Incredibly noisey and not much staff in the way of food prep etc - I think these places should list their opening hours for food. I was disappointed not to be able to get any food after a long day because the kitchen had just closed (1830hrs).
