• Les (3/5): Poor - Bathroom facilities are below standard. walls cracked possibly asbestos, Tiles in shower cracked, shower looked dirty. No WiFi although advertised free WiFi Receptionist not very helpful

• Charlotte (10/5): Feels like coming home to grandmas - Feels like coming home to grandmas, homely, simple, quiet. Shower pressure is great. Service is so friendly and meals are delicious and fast. All up this is my 3rd visit and I always choose the billabong first The only thing I could really say is more personal than anything, I hate beds with wheels and the shower head is at my chest but that is something I’ve found common in accomodation.

• Neville (7/5): Was dog friendly., and a good location to have a layover on our way to Burketown. - Very welcoming staff , an excellent meal for my wife and appreciated them warming my vegetarian meal in restaurant. No vegetarian meal available in restaurant . No plates or cutlery in room.

• Michele (4/5): Never again. - Nothing. Meal was basic which is ok but it was cold. We waited over an hr and they were not even busy. We could only order what they had left from the week. Rooms are basic and need updated badly.

The hotel was closed that day due to the owner having a appointment,but we should have been informed as they advertised that there restaurant was open.There was no hot water available,and when I tephoned the reception they said they did not know what the problem was but they would get back to me,they never did,& they refused to answer my text messages.Never stay there again.

Not our type of accommodation But we had to stay where pets were allowed so our choice was very limited. Bathroom is a bit mouldy and sooooo old

• Sarah (3/5): Disappointing - That the staff were open to an early and late checkout to accommodate my toddler's sleep needs The carpet was stained and dirty. The rooms are non smoking but the smokers just sit directly out front of their rooms and smoke which blows into the rooms. We booked for 2 nights but only stayed for one. Not value for money at all
• Fiona (8/5): River Light Festival stay. - Staff were excellent. Stayed an extra night. Dogs loved it. River Lights festival was an awesome weekend. Thoroughly recommend heading west. Don't leave Cunnamulla off your itinery! Toaster or microwave would have been nice, but fridge was cold as was the air con.

• Adam (1/5): Not accommodating at all! - We didn't even end up staying the night. We had driven all the way from Barcaldine to Cunnamulla with a dog and the air-conditioning in the car packed it in. When we arrived at 11am we asked if we could check in early due to how hot it was, we were told bluntly that they were cleaning all day and we would have to wait until 2pm. We were happy to pay extra and wait for the first room to be available but the bluntness and couldn't care attitude of the host was enough not to bother asking. So we travelled on and didn't cancel the room, she got our money for nothing and we treated her with the same respect she treated us with. The attitude of the staff also was an untidy looking place from the exterior, we stayed in nicer accommodation for less.

• Therese (7/5): Friendly and Welcoming Staff. - Friendly staff and great food. Very welcoming. Rooms are in need of a refit, especially the flooring. I would like to see the exterior look more appealing so the first impression is welcoming, like the staff were.

• Terri-louise (10/5): Comfortable clean stay - Stopped here on our way through to Port Douglas (moving house) booked our accommodation on the road and very tired, but managed to book the wrong dates. The owner was extremely helpful, fixing everything for us, even though it was late at night. Cannot speak highly enough of the owner of this motel! Great stopover during our road trip!

• Brinsmead (9/5): Superb - We were late leaving Yowah and found the Billabong had a room. It had been 20 years or more since going there. The staff and service was exceptional. Will definitely recommend and stay there again.

• Jean (8/5): The owner was very friendly and welcoming, the evening meals you couldn’t fault ,generous servings. - Location was great handy to everything, walking distance to the main centre, bakery, shops etc.would I stay there again , most definitely Cunnamulla is a lovely place to visit. Just the fridge is noisy and screeching noises coming from the next rooms shower.
• Kerrie (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and would stay again for sure. - A convenient location in town. It was great to check in at the bar and order dinner at the same time. Pub meals were awesome! Delicious and big servings. We had fun playing pool in the bar area. Friendly staff and we chatted to the owner. It was fine for us. The owner has plans to update the rooms.

Beds were comfortable and food was good. - Suited purpose of bed to sleep in overnight with two dogs and had food available on site. Maintenance is average. Would benefit to have the numerous small repairs attended to then would be able to charge more then. Free wifi did not work.

• Flora (9/5): Great little hideaway. - Cosy, clean, and really quiet. The owners were very accomdating and friendly. The food at the pub was really good and the service was great. It was quiet and you couldn't hear the other people. The hot showers and beds were awesome. Don't judge this book by it's cover.
