- Joanne (10/5): A special treat and stay in a place that is like a home away from home - We found this property incredible. It’s spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is great as well. We had a fabulous and relaxing time at this property. We loved everything about the property.
- Peita (9/5): - Perfect location. A stones throw to the main street with plenty of dining options.
Private pool was great but could be a bit more private to the street.
- Shilpa (10/5): -
- Grant (10/5): Perfect for a great stay in Port Douglas - Loved this place and the pool was spot on to relax in. Close to everything in town but still super quiet.
Great communication before and during the stay.
- Katya (10/5): We couldn't be happier and hope to come back soon. -
- Donna (8/5): really lovely and wld book again .. very attentive owners - very gorgeous and quaint but the stairs were great exercise better shadecloth for daytime privacy around the pool

- Sally (10/5): A wonderful property in a fabulous location. Great pool, comfortable beds - this place has it all. - The property is fabulous. My daughter, granddaughter and I stayed at the Lodge and had everything we needed. Before we travelled, we requested a portacot and a high chair, and both were provided free of charge. Both Wayne and Graeme are very easy to communicate with and responded quickly with each question I had. The beds are comfortable, there were plenty of bathroom towels as well as beach/pool towels provided. The kitchen had everything we needed and a platter of fresh fruit and some welcome drinks were also provided. The air con worked well and the pool is a wonderful option on the very hot days. There was nothing I would have changed, and hope to get there again very soon. Nil
- Bea (9/5): Great little cottage in the heart of Port Douglas. - Cute, comfy, well-equipped cottage in excellent location - within easy walking distance to Port Douglas bars, restaurants and .patrolled section of Four Mile Beach. Great communication from hosts. Highly recommend.

- Tania (10/5): Graeme and Wayne were fantastic hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Do close to everything and felt like our own hom - Perfect location with all the amenities and such a relaxing home feel Nothing
- Sabrina (10/5): The Cottage is Awesome - We had an amazing 4-night stay at the Cottage. Perfect location close to shops and restaurants, and we absolutely loved the private pool. I must mention the bed - it was so comfortable I could’ve stayed in it all day!!! It was nice and soft and you can’t feel you partner’s movements. I find it’s rare to get such a comfy bed in holiday accommodation and sleep quality is so important me, so I have to point this out!
Fresh fruit was provided which was lovely. A/C was perfect, good supply of towels and also kitchen amenities and supplies.
Great communication with the owners.
Just such a lovely experience, we can’t wait to come back!
- Julieann (10/5): A perfect stay in Port Douglas with the ideal location, incredible amenities, and everything we needed for a relaxing ge - We absolutely loved our stay at this property in Port Douglas. The location was fantastic – just off the main strip, so everything was within walking distance, including bars, restaurants, and the beautiful Four Mile Beach.
We were welcomed with a huge complimentary fruit platter and alcohol, which was such a thoughtful touch and really set the tone for our stay. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with everything you could possibly need, and the spacious living room had very comfortable lounges that made it easy to relax.
The Lodge itself was huge, giving our group plenty of space to spread out, and having two bathrooms was a big plus. The private pool was a highlight, complete with a great selection of outdoor furniture that made it easy to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather.
The owners were very helpful, friendly, and communicative, making our stay easy and enjoyable.
The Lodge truly had everything we could possibly want or need, making our stay both comfortable and memorable. We’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Port Douglas.
- Kelli (10/5): Lovely clean and comfortable home. Perfect location. - Everything, perfect location and very comfortable bed and lovely home. Location was fantastic
- Michael (10/5): - Had a great stay. Everything we could have needed 😁
- Tina (9/5): Perfect cottage - Perfect location. Walking distance to everything. Very clean and comfortable.
- Cherian (10/5): - The cottage is perfect for a couple. It's a gorgeous little building, well located and well appointed. The pool/jacuzzi area is great for lounging around, the views from the balcony are beautiful and there's a BBQ by the pool and a decent little kitchen if you want to eat in. There are two air conditioners for those of us who're coming from colder climes, a washing machine and a dryer. The place was spotless when we arrived. We stayed for a week and loved every minute of it.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fabulous place - What a fabulous place to stay. So easy to walk everywhere. Bikes are available. Loved the space inside and out. Very relaxing
- Charles (10/5): Great place to stay - great location security of the house front door
- Janet (8/5): Brilliant location, well provisioned, comfortable bed!! - The location is superb. A very short stroll down the hill and you're on the Main Street of Port Douglas...very close to restaurants, cafes, bars, and general shopping. The owners left us a wonderful fruit bowl, a few cool drinks in the fridge (including FRESH milk!!) and there was plenty of tea, coffee and other bits and pieces in the very well equipped kitchen. Unfortunately for us, the weather was hot, rainy and very humid during our visit so when we used the washing machine and dryer in the bathroom the whole room became dripping wet. An extraction fan on the dryer plumbed to outside would be great. We tried opening the little window, but there was no way of keeping it open as it was also very windy.
- Philip (10/5): Such a lovely place in paradise - Fabulous and homely N/A
- Philip (10/5): - Comfortable stay.
- Katrina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (10/5): Fabulous 3 night break. - We booked the 2 bedroomed lodge.

- Stephanie (10/5): Perfect stay with private pool. - We loved the gorgeous old Queenslander style of the property, and the private pool was fantastic. Property was very thoughtfully furnished and had everything we needed.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Madeline (10/5): Fabulous cottage for couples - The staff were lovely to speak with and very helpful. It was a great location and the cottage itself was beautiful inside. The cottage was well stocked with all the essentials needed e.g. washing powder. The pool was clean and heated which made swimming great (we had cooler weather so warm water was nice). We had to leave. Would book again in a heart beat.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Dom (9/5): Fantastic location and great beds! -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Robyn (10/5): We love Port Douglas and can’t wait to go back! - Location is great. Very spacious and comfortable. Needs a bit of TLC. I wouldn’t say there was anything I didn’t like, just a few things I’d fix like one of the fans was noisy, some outside lights didn’t work and some loose tiles in pool. But the Lodge was great and we would stay there again.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rhonda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Warren (10/5): Wife and l came to Port Douglas for arelaxing week holiday. We got all that with the accommodation, township and weather - Great location
All amenities one could want
TV and variety of channels terrific
Host Graeme welcomed us and also checked in again and was most kind and helpful Nothing
Perfect stay for a couple
- Deb (8/5): It was a really lovely, ver clean little cottage. - Location to Main Street was great.
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- James (8/5): Great venue - shame about the early morning noise. - Everything about this very nice cottage except the one issue below. Major issue is the banging and crashing across the road between 3:00 and 4:00 AM each weekday morning as the Post Office deliveries and pickups are made. There was no effort by the delivery man to curtail the noise of large metal containers being unloaded, moved and loaded. In fact this appeared to be deliberately loud. Something needs to be done about this!
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (10/5): Centrally located with old world charm. - Location Lacking some privacy, while the owners are changing the landscaping.
- Rooney (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Friendly host and lovely setting/apartment.
- Pounamu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- Josee (10/5): Fabulous! Friendly hosts/informative - Off the main strip conveniently located.
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Bronwyn (8/5): Very good -
- Rohan (10/5): fantastic loved it - fantastic walking distance to everything
- Andrew (9/5): It was great - Swimming pool needs to be cleaned on a daily basis.. Pool we had to clean it every day and sweep the leaves etc..
- Jacqui (10/5): Great stay very happy - Loved Location pool pantry stocked fruit supplied in large bowl hosts Wayne and Graeme were amazing nothing a problem Dusty couch cushions
Bathroom maybe could have been a bit cleaner but acceptable
- Joanne (4/5): - I have photos of the bathroom walls covered in soap
splatter and hair
the fridge was dirty with sand , toilet duck was just poured in toiilet everything was dusty and the bathroom floor full water when having a shower slipped over and knocked me arm I have bruises not happy will be following this as a further investigation
- Pauline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kymberley (9/5): Superb -
- Scriven (10/5): Fabulous holiday at the Lodge - Great proximity to restaurants, cafes and four mile beach. Spacious and well equipped accommodation, lovely and quiet with no road noise. Fabulous heated pool for private use with poolside seating. That we had to leave after a week!
- Neil (3/5): Just lacks the light and airiness of the the front accomodation. - We thought we'd booked the Lodge (at front). We enjoyed our stay last year. Sun not on the pool for long, and only in the afternoon. Very hard on feet getting out of the pool due to metal steps,
and needed quite strong grip on slippery rail. No complaints with the general facilities, and cleanliness. I'm not very
good with computers, but I had trouble connecting every day until the last couple.
- Cindy (10/5): Fantastic will definitely be back. Loved everything about it and the host was great - Everything was brilliant could not fault Nothing
- Laura (9/5): Great location for a family holiday - Such a great location and well decked out house. We stayed for 10 days over our wedding and couldn’t have worked out better. Lots of room, great little pool and very comfortable and clean bed and bathroom. Would love to go back. It is a little dark inside due to the rainforest outside but it creates a lovely atmosphere
- Suzanne (2/5): Very disappointed - The toilet did not flush we alerted the owner first day of 4 day stay he talked my husband through it and got it to flush BUT that was with the cistern lid off and putting hand in to manually flush we messaged the next day to say not very acceptable he said he would send ##### ( name withheld ) at the same time the pool
Is advertised as heated and it was not the spa wasn't either again he " talked my husband " through but the pump still showed an error message I messaged about both these problems on the second day ##### was coming at 3pm and we arrived back to the accom at 6 pm NOONE had been toilet not fixed and pool still cold !!!!!! The next day when I went to message the owner had his phone set to "silenced " and remained that way for the rest of the trip the cleaner came on the second last day and tried to fix the pool but to NO avail it still gave the error message and was cold ! And about the toilet all she could say was "sorry " we are very disappointed as the cottage is lovely although could do with some curtains inside as there are none and people can see in and the shutters on the outside of the windows bang a lot with the wind . I booked this place because it had a nice heated private pool which we never got to use !!!!!! See above
- Raymond (10/5): - The Cottage was a beautiful place to stay. Private and quaint. Having your own pool is a bonus. The Cottage was in a great position - easy walk to great dining and shops.
- Linda (5/5): this is a good location but fails to give you a blissful holiday when too much is wrong - location the property was not cleaned properly, too many things did not work properly or at all, more attention needs to paid to presentation eg redoing the decking and planting some nice pot plants, new furniture should also be addressed and a refirb of the bathroom
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay in the Lodge. We especially enjoyed lounging around in the pool, and we got joy out of cooking in the kitchen and around the grill. Fabulous property, quiet and peaceful yet right next to the main street of Port Douglas, so you're just steps from awesome restaurants, bars, and stores. No need for a car! Thanks, guys, for a great time.
- John (9/5): we loved our stay in this mini Queenslander! very relaxing - A unique accommodation with plenty of room in the best location. Plus your own pool!
The owners are great and very responsive to our needs. All good!
- Doris (8/5): Very quiet, homely and comfortable. - Very private and quiet. It was nice to have the bedrooms at opposite ends of the property with their own bathrooms. Comfortable lounge area with good selection of streaming services on the TV. Good facilities in the kitchen and laundry. - The bathroom at the front of the property flooded every time I had a shower. It needs some sort of screen/enclosure on at least one side.
- The living room was very dark - perhaps a couple of skylights would help. It was fine for me but my sister has impaired vision so we needed to have the lights on all the time.
- Sandy (9/5): a really great place to stay, I would highly recommend it. - lovely property with heaps of character. fantastic location nothing. it was really well equipped with everything we needed.
- Tracee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (10/5): a wonderful stay in Port Douglas - Great location close to Macrossan Street and all the shops, cafes and restaurants. Peaceful environment and well set up property. leaving
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Kim (10/5): - A sweet house from days gone by. Great location and helpful hosts. We will be back.
- Anna-maria (9/5): Perfect location for a great holiday, everything you need including your own pool and welcoming hosts - Brilliant location close to shops restaurants and 4 mile beach. Perfect for two couples with bedrooms and ensuites at either end and living areas in between. Fully self contained if you don’t feel like going out to dinner with useable kitchen and BBQ. Great large plunge pool perfect for cooling off and relaxing outside. Under cover outdoor seating area in case it rains - we got none. Cold beer and sparkling wine and a beautiful fruit platter on arrival with supplies for a few days was a very pleasant surprise. The hill from Macrossan street was short but pretty steep - one of our group has been ill and struggled a little with that - but was fine for everyone else - and we are not that young
- Althea (10/5): Fabulous holiday in this well equipped house. We appreciated the welcoming touches the wine, huge bowl of tropical fruit - The Lodge is in an awesome location walking distance to everything. It has a welcoming relaxing atmosphere and we loved the private pool. Bathrooms need an update.
- Liz (10/5): We will certainly be back sooner rather than later - The location was brilliant. Close and handy to all facilities.
- Kerrie-ann (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was provided making it great not have to purchase the very things you don't want to take home like coffee..sauces ect the pool was fabulous and I loved not having to share it Nothing we didn't like....had a wonderful 6 days
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kym (8/5): A wonderful getaway - the location, the space and a private pool. Some more privacy from neighbouring properties.
- Julie (10/5): One fabulous property within walking distance of everything! Comfortable and homely. Will be back! - So close to all the life of Port Douglas.
Fresh fruit, sparking and beer on arrival.
Well stocked pantry, with more than 4 of each plate and glass :)
Easy check-in
Comfort plus!
All bathroom amenities and extra towels and a wonderful dressing gown for after a swim/shower
Fab plunge pool and outdoor area. Lovely gardens that make you feel very private
Encountered a Northern Brown Bandicoot which was a bonus!! WHAAAT? Loved it all!
- michelle (10/5): - Extremely close to the beach, great dinning spots and shopping, it’s a beautiful cottage we felt at home as soon as we walked in the door.
There was a beautiful fruit platter and the fridge was also full of cold beverages, l would throughly recommend to anyone wanting a more personalised accomodation experience !!

- Joanne (9/5): Superb -
- Kain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (9/5): perfect location and massively enjoyable! - well organized and warm welcome. Lots of small surprises which created a lovely vibe.
- Bronwyn (10/5): Great accommodation if the heart of Port Douglas - My husband and I stayed for 5 nights and the accommodation was wonderful great location just off main street 2 ensuite bedrooms each at opposite ends of the house which came in handy as we had a friend come and stay great loungeroom not that we used it as we sat outside and kitchen with everything you need loved everything
- Neil (10/5): Hard to find fault, and way beyond our expectations. - We had breakfast at 3 different locations, all close, all quite good, and all very busy Better mirror for my wife.
- Lindsay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): - Excellent accommodation with friendly and helpful owners/managers.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Unique old fashion style lodge with lots of charm !
Lots of space, a swimming pool, perfect location, and Graeme is very kind. We even had chocolate for Easter in the fridge and a large plate with fruits !
Love love it !!
- Wendy (10/5): What a gem! - We loved our stay at The Cottage, perfectly located just off the main street. It was private and peaceful, with only the noisy birds interrupting the quiet. We loved having our own private pool and the choice of two decks to lounge on. Everything you needed was on hand, including sunblock and a beach chair. The complimentary champagne and beer on arrival was much appreciated. Just a couple of things would have improved our stay; a bigger bed (the queen bed on castors was too small & rolled around the floor a bit) and an information sheet would have been helpful (wifi password, where to put rubbish, whether the room gets refreshed half way through a longer stay - ours didn't & we were there for a week). These are just minor things & we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It was our home away from home and we had a wonderful week.
- John (10/5): - I stayed in the lodge and it was perfect for a stay in Port Douglas, quiet location yet very close to the main street and beach. Very well appointed and very clean and comfortable with your own plunge pool. I would stay here again for sure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Port Douglas Lodge - This lovely, quietly located lodge is not a hotel. It's a self catering, single level Queensland house. It's brilliantly located near to the shops (about a 2min walk to Macrossan Street) and close to Four Mile Beach (5mins walk). There is parking and well appointed amenities.
The only thing I would improve would be the wifi connectivity - better in some parts of the lodge than others.
