Guest Reviews
- Lynneclaire (9/5): -
- Nic JP (7/5): - Super friendly, helpful staff. Room was just what we needed as a stop-over. We had a very early start but staff left cereals, milk etc for us to help ourselves.
- Gavin (1/5): - price no towel- told on arrival they were all in tumble dryer but would be left for me later, next morning no towel told again all in tumble dryer- probably just as well as shower was disgusting -drain clogged with hair and several long hairs on flower tray
Bed was ridiculously uncomfortable - budget pricing does not excuse any of the above.
- Sue (3/5): Cut short. - The breakfast was fine and the room was clean I was able to feel the springs through the mattress. The curtain rail was broken and so the curtain was hanging off the wall, the emergency light above the door flashed red all night keeping us awake. The manager said there was no other room available for our second night and no one available to fix anything and so we should just accept it. We found alternative accommodation.
- Shaun (10/5): Clean and friendly - Stayed here on a business trip - very friendly staff and clean accommodation.
Booked for another trip a couple of weeks later, and although the booking was non-refundable, they have let me cancel for free which is much appreciated. will definitely use this place in future when in the area.
- Irene (10/5): -
- Melanie (1/5): Grauenhaft.
- john (7/5): Not too bad - The room was clean and the bed comfortable and fresh One of the shower doors was missing
- Martine (8/5): -
- Larry (6/5): - Good continental breakfast. Green light above the door.
- Ewan (6/5): Quick stopover - Close to centre Bathroom had no plug, soap tray in shower and a panel was missing from shower and no hangers in wardrobe
Daar is alles mee gezegd. Heel slecht.
- Amanda (2/5): Would not stay again unfortunately - Location was fine. Breakfast was included. Bathroom was covered in mould. Big gaps in the bath surround. Overall very disappointing. Bed was uncomfortable and, the hotel was very noisy.
- BRENDA (10/5): Overall it was a nice quiet room, host friendly and informative of the area - It was easy to find, very near place to eat, breakfast ok. Host very pleasant, internet free and efficient. The room was bland, ie no pictures or anything,
No casual chair to rest in.
- Marta (5/5): Not recomended - We had room no. 4. It was quite big, warm, linens were clean, hot water in the shower, and a small breakfast was included. Besides this, the room was unpleasant, old furniture, and windows just to the cars in the parking lots. there was this constant buzz noise from some pump which is behind the wall and the staff is aware of it but it cannot be helped. There might be some "inner life" in the beds since I got bitten. And the mould in the bathroom celling. I will not come back. - Paul (7/5): Fine -
- Alan (7/5): Good value for my needs - This is a budget hotel . Room a bit worn but clean with comfortable bed . Just what I needed. Access to the property is 24hrs again meeting my needs as I departed at 0530 on day 1 and retrurned at 0300 the next day. Breakfast provided is cereals; toast; fruit, pastries etc which was perfectly adequate for my needs and as expected. I have stayed beflroe and would stay again. TV in room was not connected to an aerial (didn't affect stay)
- John (7/5): - Walking distance to town centre. Guest fridge was very handy. No soap or shampoo provided which is pretty poor. Shower drain partially blocked. Car park full of rubbish.
- zdens (8/5): - It was easily reachable, good comunication with reception, parking. It is a good value for money and short stay.
- Lynette (3/5): Definitely a budget hotel which needs improvement - The hotel was quiet. There was a tv, kettle, mugs and tea/coffee/hot chocolate sachets provided in the room, which was nice. The buffet continental breakfast was convenient and we enjoyed it. The room we were allocated on arrival was ok but the floor didn't seem to have been vacuumed. However, the following morning we woke to find a bed bug on one of our pillows! We notified the lady and she gave us a different room in the 'sister' hotel across the road, which we subsequently found had no hot water and a tv that didn't work. We were then given the option of moving to a third room. This third room was comfy enough although not spotlessly clean. While we appreciate that the hotel was in the middle of being refurbished, our third room looked like it had already had the modifications, but still some things were wrong. The shower door was misaligned and the tray wasn't level, so every time we had a shower, we had to sweep the water to the drain with our feet. The hot and cold settings on the tap were swapped. The windows didn't open, and we couldn't work out how to turn the heating off. The bedding was clean but did have some stains.
- David (8/5): - Location, price staff couldnt do enough to help Outside of hotel, needs a bit of tlc
- Colin (5/5): Adequate - Convenient for the railway station. Damp and a bit tired.
- Derek (7/5): Good value for money place to stay. - Room with en-suite facilities was good. Breakfast started quite late, at 7.30am which was too late for us, since we had to leave before this time....also the WIFI didn't works for my laptop as I couldn't connect to it, but it was okay for my phone....
- Graham (10/5): -
- Ingrid (10/5): - Karen Shower
- Dorothea (8/5): -
- Fay (6/5): Good value room - Big room with a small sitting room area.
Comfy beds. Nice outlook on to the local church. Quiet street just round the corner from the main street of town. Shower could do with a good scrub. Net curtains needed on the windows as passing people looked into the room.
Ze wilde me graag helpen!.De badkamer was fijn.
- Monika (4/5): Not impressed - Location Mouldy ceiling in the bathroom and smell of silicone as the bathtub was resealed on the day we arrived. No shower gel or shampoo.
- Amel (10/5): - Everything was good, initially the room provided was not clean, but they changed and upgraded the room for us. The receptionist was really helpful. Nothing, Everything was good. Breakfast - did expect a bit more
- Sreoshi (10/5): -
- o neill (10/5): -
- Tom (10/5): -
- Jacques (8/5): -
- Rennie (8/5): Good value - Friendly reception, clean bed and bathroom Shower floor a bit slippy and as usual in hotel rooms only one chair
- Bushnell (2/5): -
- Mauricio (7/5): -
- Kiran (1/5): Worst experience - Nil Bathroom was not clean. No hot water was coming from shower. No body wash provided.
- Ngo (1/5): -
- Coburn (6/5): - Position was good
- Nouras (9/5): - Location and value Mould bathroom ceiling
- Daniel39 (6/5): - Everything is nearbuy cosy bed cosy pillows value for the money Poor breakfast, water in the toilett basin takes time to load, the water in the shower upstairs my room takes time to go go down i think was a sort of blocage somewhere the pipe
- Ewan (9/5): - Nice warm greeting, clean room, comfy bed, hot shower, plentiful buffet breakfast, 25 mtrs from high st. Nothing
- Susan (3/5): - Location good and free parking. No wall lights., 2 wires hanging out where lights should have been. No bedside lights.Mirror on floor, not hung up. Curtains hanging off rail. Table top damaged. No wardrobe. Only one chair. Heating not on. Continental breakfast very poor selection of cereals, not much fruit, no ham and cheese.
- Hitjevi (10/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): Would definitely use again - Central with parking and very affordable…comfy beds and decent rooms for price Breakfast was a little stingy
- Caroline (8/5): -
- Gordon (7/5): -
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Joe (5/5): Okay for somewhere to sleep - It was okay could’ve done with comfier pillows. Ideally bring your own if you can when going Airbnb and cheap hotels. The light in the room was just a bare bulb on the ceiling bit strange.
- annie (2/5): - Location Thr bathroom was awful, ceiling was covered in mould
- winfried (5/5): -
- BEATRICE (2/5): -

- MacInnes (7/5): -
- Joe (10/5): Good Value. We will be back, Made an ideal base for property viewings - the room was a good size and very comfortable.
Beds again very comfortable.
Breakfast was a do it yourself. However good range of cereal and bread etc. All was good and as expected.
- Martin (3/5): -
- Hilary (10/5): - Good location & price Bathroom roof mouldy
- james (9/5): Highly recommended - Very nice ensuite room, very quiet. Located in the town centre so convenient for local attractions and amenities.
- Pradeep Nagaraju (5/5): -
- Ella (8/5): -
- Ihász (3/5): Várakozáson aluli - Autó parkolás ingyenes volt.Fekvése a városköpont közel volt. Tisztaság! Volt olyan szoba ahol ágypoloska volt. A mosdó tálca folyamatosan eldugult. Reggeli is nagyon hiányos volt.
- Gunilla (3/5): - Löget Usel frukost
Rum dåligt skick
- Harris (1/5): BED BUGS - AVOID! - Avoid this hotel. We stayed in Room 2 and came away with multiple bed bug bites. A very stressful experience and serious cleanliness concern. Would strongly recommend staying elsewhere, especially avoiding Room 2.
- Joshua (7/5): -
- Natalie (1/5): - Black mould on full ceiling in bathroom. Reported to reception who offered another room which even staff member changed mind on once he unlocked door to show it. Third room was passable, still mould but not as extreme. From looking at historic reviews this doesn’t appear to be an isolated one off and I’d question whether the‘renovations’ mentioned are actually taking place or if this is used as an easy excuse for the conditions of rooms. Luckily we were only here for one night but did feel sorry for residents who appear to be housed here longer term.
- Alain (10/5): -
- Kordecki (3/5): - Nic Zamiast 5 miejsc do spania otrzymalismy jedno lozko podwojne i dwa pojedyncze.masakra
- chris (5/5): - Did what it said on the tin. Cheap and cheerful and partly being renovated.
- John (8/5): Waverley Inn - Cheap and cheerful, but still clean and welcoming No soap or towels in room
- Marie (6/5): Ok for an overnight basic simple room staff could be a lot more friendly - Room was clean Staff not very friendly
- GINA (4/5): 2 night stay visiting family - Comfy bed quiet and good location, parking. Cleanliness had to get staff to clean toilet when we arrived dust on ledges and table legs..shower cubicle filthy with mould on seals and walls fan not working so ceiling was all black all stainless steel fittings and towel rail all covered in rust .breakfast although it was supposed to be free was very poor only a good selection of cereal and toast with butter no jams or anything
- Paul (10/5): -
- Suryeon (4/5): Worth only for cheap staying - Location No shower gel, no milk for breakfast…
- James David (5/5): Overall it's still good value, clean and basic. - It's a good location, budget price place to stay.
The staff are good and welcoming.
No problems parking as there is ample room.
Plenty shops and restaurants nearby. Cold water in the shower.
No TV signal, this has commonly been the case during rainy weather at the waverley inn as the rain seems to effect the aerial system.
We managed to get something to view on the TV through the wi fi,YouTube etc.
The chair in the room was almost falling apart as as the screws that were holding it together were so slack.
Breakfast is free but now limited to toast or cereals, but since it's included it's a take it or leave it bonus.
Some rooms are better than others, we were in room 18 upstairs on this occasion.

- PAUL (5/5): -
- Christina (10/5): We really enjoyed our visit to the Waverly Inn. - Everything, they were so nice and friendly, plenty to choose from at breakfast.
- david (1/5): Absolute dump dont book this hotel - Nothing Soon as you walk through door you are hit with a disgusting smell. One of the staff walking about bare footed, Toilet wasnt clean urine stained around the rim with pubic hairs stuck to the bowl , Hole in the ceiling , walls badly stained , no towels , Look out the window rubbish lying everywhere. Only wish i had taken photos now . Would reccommend ppl dont book here how the place is allowed to stay open is beyond me ... We left and booked another hotel near by .
- Susan (5/5): Hotel not as expected, poor value for money. - Beds were comfortable No Kettle or towels in room when we arrived so had to ask for them. breakfast was included in price but weren't told there was no cooked option. there was no bread left. The person on reception was playing on her phone and not paying attention to guests. Bathroom was to hot and no way to turn heating down.
- Shauna (3/5): Has potential to be good but still a work in progress. - Location is excellent. Has the potential to be good but is definitely a work in progress at the moment. Choice of 7 cereals for breakfast. Room clean. Bed comfortable. Appreciate they are undergoing renovations and the price is low but... Bathroom radiator leaked. Unable to shower as no water despite there being a constant drip.. Told staff after our first night about both problems but issues not fixed and no alternative room offered when the accommodation didn't seem full. Put a glass under the radiator leak which was three quarters full by the time we left. For breakfast first morning no staff around. No glasses, mugs, water for the kettle. Had to play hunt the items required but cupboards empty. 3 other guest groups did the same. A fellow customer took the two glasses that had been used by other residents back to his room to wash them to get some juice. Room not cleaned or hospitality tray refilled. Missing light bulb. Some staff appeared disinterested in hearing about problems we had encountered.
- Baldridgeburn Par (10/5): -
- Adeola (5/5): -
- Allister (5/5): - Cheap and friendly staff Bed was uncomfortable
Mould in shower ceiling
Bedding not changed there for 6 nights
I know its just a one off as I've stayed there on many occasions

The bathroom ceiling was also black with mould
- Alexander (1/5): Very disappointed - Nothing the room was so dirty mould no tv working Mould in bathroom room was not clean for us coming no tv working
- Christopher (9/5): - Breakfast good ,varied selection.
- Claire (6/5): Value for money - Clean and good value for money Shower door broken and shower took a very long time to heat up
- Gagandeep, karandeep Kaur (9/5): - Everything is perfect Nothing
