• Adrian (2/5): Bad stay - Don't go here. Missing lights and lampshades, holes in wall, tarp for screen for the sliding door, random parts of a Crock-Pot lying around, floorboards separating, a heater that doesn't work and has parts off of it. There was also a hole in the window covered with a Band-Aid.

• John (4/5): - The whole property was run down, the area in front of the entrance was littered and dirty. I did not feel secure inside, as the door lock was just a common keyed type. The bed area was ok as was the bed. The bathroom needed some cleaning. They wrote up a bill for $85 for the room and I told them I paid Expedia $113. $85 was what it should have been. I wanted to cancel, but wasn’t sure if I could.

• Marita Denise (2/5): - I have never seen a room look this bad. Filthy. Very old and unkempt. Broken glass on patio door. When we were taken too the room, someone had thrown soapy water to clean the entrance. This motel should not be operating until they meet basic standards. Do not stay here.
• Lynette (4/5): - This is a very old property and has not been updated since the 80's I am sure. The bedding was extremely old and torn. There was people who were using the green space in the back who were fighting a lot. The reception area smelled of wet dog and cigarettes.

• Bill (6/5): A low budget motel - Unfortunatly this motel continues to decline. Rooms are very dated, furniture & fixtures old. However bed was comfortable. Has mini fridge & microwave. Most of the rooms are rented on a monthly basis on ground level so you will have to climb some stairs. Close to food/restaurants. fairly noisy area,bring ear plugs. Not the best part of town but priced accordingly.Lower grounds fenced off for the long term tenants with no access to pool,( which was empty anyways.)

• Amandeep (2/5): - Stay away. The photos used by Expedia are deceiving and do not accurately represent its actual condition. The property is run down. The lobby has a strong ammonia / urine smell, the parking lot is a dumping ground for decommissioned cars / campers, the rooms could use some serious TLC (peeling / water damaged stucco ceiling) and the pool is non-operational. Luckily I got a refund within 10 minutes of checking in and found a room at the Days INN for the same cost.

• Robert (4/5): No, just No ! Stay away ! - You can smell the lobby from the road. It smells like cat urine. Parking lot it little RS with destroyed campers and motors, garbage piled on balconies, they say the rooms have been renovated, nope, at least not in the last 20 years and if they were I’d hate to see what they looked like before. Absolutely no pool, looks like it been gone for a while but they fail to mention that

• Verified traveler (8/5): Old but Clean - The service was friendly and the room was clean. However, this is an old motel, so as long as cracks in the tiles, a constantly dripping faucet, and a box TV don’t bother you, you will like it here alright. Definitely could use some updating!

• Lee (6/5): Good but a little run down - The place is fine overall. AC was great in the 34 degree weather… very loud but fine. When we checked in, I was told the pool was being condemned by a certain date and I asked why and was told it needed upgrading. Super unprofessional in telling me I thought. Went to the pool and one side had not been cleaned on the bottom - it was all dark and grungy and no one had skimmed the top so lots of dead bugs were floating. Inside, we had all that you typically get however there were no coffee cups for the coffee we made in the morning - called over but no one ever came to deliver the cups. Overall the place was just fine for a one night stay - the price was right and it was centrally located.

• Angela (4/5): - Have made stays at this property for decades, historically it’s been a little gem. Management is extremely friendly and accommodating ( not certain if they are the owners as well), however the buildings and grounds are deplorable. The beautiful garden area is overgrown, lawn uncut, old furniture about. There are tarps on the roof, mattress outside… so disappointing. My room reaked of mould, which I would later discover enough of it growing on the bathroom wall that it could be scraped off. There was a stained white towel on the sink counter, but overall the room was relatively clean - for the price and a single night sleep. With the most sincerity I hope the owner is able to make the necessary improvements and maintenance to bring the place back up to the little beauty it once was.
• Andrew (6/5): Not worth the money. 40.00 hotel at best - The good: Well, staff owners were super friendly. My dogs enjoyed to run in courtyard freely. Now the bad: pipes leak from bathroom above. So mould coming in ceiling. Coffe pot did not work, did not have replacement. My sliding glass door cracked. I noticed pretty much all ground floor ones cracked. Tv worked sketchy. Stayed 3 days. Never got clean towels , asked once if i want garbage changed......i was left with new garbage bags, and same garbage.
• Catherine (4/5): - Upon check in the staff was very friendly and sweet. They asked several times if we had everything we needed and wanted to make sure we knew how to find them if needed. However, the room was very dated and there were many small things that could be done to make them more appealing. There are many nail holes and screw holes in the walls and ceiling, the grout/caulking in the bathroom was peeling, you can see where walls had been repainted and repaired very poorly with the old paint or drywall showing through, etc. The bathroom was not properly clean. There was a dirty towel hanging on the towel rack and a lot of hair on the floor. I could have gotten past the repairs and “old fashioned” room if things had been clean. We knew we had booked a discount hotel, but there is no excuse for dirty towels in the room. Overall, the beds we’re comfortable, AC and TV worked, and it was a place to lay our heads for a night while passing through. We probably won’t be rushing to book again anytime soon.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Inexpensive and super pet friendly, exactly what I was looking for! If you’re looking for the Ritz, don’t stay here. It is an older place that needs renovating. Lots of it! But the bed was clean and comfortable so the other details didn’t matter to me. It’s very central, you can walk to restaurants and shops. 10 -20 min drive to very nice beaches. If you are more into saving money than staying into a fancy hotel, this place should work for you.
• Arnoud (2/5): I can’t give it a good review - Well, let’s put it this way, the door did not close all the way proper, but was lockable, the room was not clean ( spider webs), when we wanted to take a shower in the morning, the tap fell apart, water all over the place, so no shower, so would we go back, nope.
• Kevin (6/5): - The property was okay. The room was okay but it really needs some elbow grease. Patch and paint the walls and ceiling. Update the bathrooms. Get better lighting. Pool was nice but needs a good cleaning. Property in general needs some upgrading. Lots of homeless people around the property but they were not a bother. This could be a great property with a little work.
• Shahul Hameed (10/5): - Josephine was great . The hotel is little old. Our family had a good night’s sleep. It’s good for stay and go type. Worth the money. Surprised to have all amenities like microwave oven, coffee maker, hair dryer, small fridge, clean towels, soap, shampoo, and body lotion.
• Jana (6/5): - I was happy to get anywhere to stay on short notice within my budget when Air BnB cancelled my booking 3 weeks before my trip. Big room. A/C worked pretty well. Manager was excellent.
• Melanie (2/5): - The room smelt like smoke when we walked in. It was so strong and overpowering. Room condition is so poor and dingy especially the bathroom. Will not stay again in this hotel. The pictures of the room in the website is way far from its actual appearance. The facilities are all old.
• Stacey (4/5): Tragic Tiki Village - The entire property was far past its prime. Photos do not accurately depict the tragic condition. There's no remaining 'Polynesian love' left on the property. 1. The pool - had green sludge in it, the only railing into the pool was NOT anchored at both ends, there were no towels provided and the safety gate was broken. Any frail person leaning on this railing is doomed. Everything regarding the pool was NOT working. 2. The room - sliding door had cracked glass and holes in it. There were cobwebs on the walls and ceiling. Coffee pot was filthy. Air conditioner leaked onto the floor. The air conditioner was not able to cool the room. The porch light couldn't be turned off, was super bright and shone thru the room windows. Holes in the ceiling. Extensive damage to the paint and condition of the walls. 2 of the beds had lots of human hair on them when we checked in and one set of sheets had numerous cigarette burns in it. 3. In general - tiles, roofing material and broken beds were strewn beside walkways.

If all you want is a place to sleep, it is adequate and the price is reasonable for that but don't expect a nice room.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - This property is on the verge of being torn down. Nothing has been repaired or replaced in years. Everything is broken, including the AC. There was even a tarp attached to a dividing wall, instead of being fixed. The more you look around the room, the worse it becomes. We checked in and immediately upon seeing the room requested a refund and went to a different hotel.

• KKozee (2/5): - Smells like stale cigarettes, moth balls and 1957! Not sure where to start on this one.....the place is beyond run down and almost inhabitable. The first indication was at check in when they handed us 2 keys.....yes KEYS...not key CARDS. My first thought was great, who else has access to this room from guests gone by? Once we were actually inside the room things really set in.....the shade covering the window by the door was paper, not paper thin, but actually made out of some sort of black paper. There were 2 lamps in the room, one with no shade and the one with a shade had a lovely mystery stain all over it. That said lamp also sat on an unfolded paper napkin on top of the stand between the beds. Presumably to cover up the scratched and stained wood underneath. The rest needs to be condensed as there is limited space..... Broken patio doors, dirty, cracked & stained walls, ceilings and mouldings, the bathroom is a whole review in itself. We would have no problem staying in a rustic, kitschy motel such as this if it was clean and maintained. Tiki is neither. I heard a rumour that this place is being demolished soon. In my opinion they should close up shop now...makes The Bates Motel look like The Four Seasons!

• SuzieK-H (10/5): - A room had one king-size bed (my husband was really happy with how comfortable that was!) and was super spacious. Our room was located on the ground floor, provided easy access to the courtyard. There, our dog got to play nicely with other dogs any time. There were a couple of BBQs in the courtyard the guests could use them freely. Front Desk staff (Josephine (?)) was very helpful and made us feel at home upon checking in.

• Magdolna (2/5): Run down motel in a bad neighbourhood - I chose this place for the green space for my dog. What a mistake?! The motel is in a state of a total run down. Not maintained at all, stinks badly, flooring coming up, broken tiles, holes on bed cover, chipped sink, not safe neighbourhood, the cleaner woke me up at 8 on the check out day by pounding on the door. Do yourself a favour, and find somewhere else to stay! Never in a million year I’d return to this place, do not recommend.

Private, but nice in that you could step out into the yard to say hi to your neighbors. (bathtub was just missing a plug. And insufficient lighting overall). I had a pet. It was perfect. • Claudio (6/5): The good the bad and the ugly - The good...Beds were good and slept well 👍...the bad....motel is run down and needs repairs and we never got our room cleaned. Also no HD channels on TV. Owner is tearing down motel in a few years so he doesn't care about upkeeping the property.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - We did not spend much time outside at this location, we were mainly at the lake. We were looking for simple accommodations and appreciated that the suite had three beds and seemed clean. The house keeping and front desk staff were quite nice. I would not book this hotel if you are looking for comfort or plush accommodations. The AC blew mostly moist warm air, there were no windows to open at night (only a sliding door that needed to be locked) and the suite was quite dark (we were on the lower floor). The ceiling was also very thin and we were awake at 5:30 in the morning listening to continuous walking in the upstairs suite. All in all, it's fine if you are just looking for a place to sleep.
• Douglas (6/5): So So hotel! - It was very hot out and the AC did not work. They did give us a fan which helped. Thank God the pool was great and liked the fact they had BBQ's to use. Our door to the pool was extremely hard to open and close and the sliding wall they used for a curtain was falling off the track. The staff told us the are ripping it down on a couple of years and rebuilding so do not want to put any money into it now. :(

The courtyard / pool area is wonderful, we were pleasantly surprised, our room was clean and furnished with newer queen beds and clean/crisp Lenin’s and cold air conditioning. • Verified traveler (6/5): - Wifi connection is low, my kids are disappointed as their games are not loading, I’m disappointed as I can’t browse on the attractions to see in this place, toilet is dirty, floor is scary to step in barefooted... staffs are good though, not enough electric plug ins for gadget. I have to moved beds, cabinets to use the plug from the lamps,

• Verified traveler (8/5): - This motel is old and is scheduled for demolition next year. That being said, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I particularly liked that there was no carpet in the rooms. The pool was also very clean and provided nice lounging chairs/tables. My son spent hours in the pool. Within walking distance to Polson Park which is very nice. If the hotel was not scheduled to be torn down, I would definitely stay there again.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - Although clean and comfortable, the place is dated with paper thin walls, not great if you shared the place with two partying ball teams as we did. I hear the place is being demolished next year and a new 8 storey hotel is being built in its place. This might be the best thing that has happened there in a few years!

• Dwayne (6/5): - when we first went to check it there were two teenagers behind the desk one yelled at the other to go get the mother. A few minutes later the mother showed up and checked as in she is quite nice. The property is old and rundown. The rooms are clean and the beds are good, but there's lots of Maintenance needed. The big plus was the pool they keep the area nice and lots of toys for the kids to play with around the pool that was the highlight of our stay there.
• Donna (8/5): - Everything about our stay was wonderful. The place could use updating but besides that it was great! The staff is the most accommodating and very helpful.
• Pierre (10/5): - Truly a delight to stay at the Tiki. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Balcony was a special asset with views of inner courtyard. Very relaxing, holiday resort athmosphere, beautiful landscaping with birds singing. Cleanliness is an A+. Pity the age of the building is the cause for a new development next year. I think it will lose its personal touch.
• NN (10/5): - This motel is really great if you have a dog. There is a fenced in grassy area for your dog right out of your room (if you are on the bottom level). The pool was being resurfaced when we were there but it would be great for kids. The motel itself is a little older but the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely stay there again.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - This building is in pretty poor condition as it is to be torn down next year, Although the decor and furniture were out-dated, the unit was spotlessly clean, The bedding was of good quality and not worn.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - I didn’t sleep all night ... it was so noisy. It was like staying in a paper bag. Someone was shoveling outside till 10pm and the parking lot was plowed at 2am with backup beeper going. Also the water heated roomed banged liked someone was chopping wood and tin banging noise. The worst stay I’ve ever had and Expedia should not advertise this motel! I’ll never use Expedia again!
