- JohnDawson155 (10/5): Mid-week two-night stay - Top notch old school hospitality. This was our first time here and definitely met or exceeded expectations. We stayed two nights and availed of most of what's on offer. We ate in the first night and sampled the town the second night. Tried the pool, which was a great addition, if a bit of a walk away. The garden and nearby water park is a considerable plus too. Live music (piano player) is a lovely touch. Complementary afternoon tea is a bonus also. Thanks to all the staff.
- Emily (9/5): Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff - The hotel is situated an ideal area of town - just off the main drag with ample parking. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We were staying with two small children and unlike some places that claim to welcome children but then don’t seem too keen on them being there, Park Hotel went above and beyond for my kids. They asked their names and ages ahead of time in order to have custom cookies with their names waiting for them, as well as properly sized little robes for them. The family suite was ideal for our family and the kids loved the bunk beds. We ate both lunch and dinner in the garden room and had amazing meals. The property is currently undergoing some extensive renovations (which is not meant as a fault, it’s a necessary part of the passage of time). The current walk to the pool area is not ideal as it’s extensive and outside avoiding the construction. We also had some loud workers close to our room earlier in the morning than we’d like. But again, I recognize that renovations are necessary and are temporary.
- 99truetravel (8/5): Great service, noble ethos yet room quality & current environment not worth the price! - A last minute stay due to work bringing me to the area. I was seeking a refined, peaceful and restful night and having previously had this hotel in my orbit from many previous trips guiding people on personal tours to Kerry, I took a room last minute. What I loved: * Service was 100% upon both check in & check out. What you would expect from a 5* at this price point. Personal orientation & projected care. * Loved the ART focus which added a surprising & soulful element that created another layer for me in visiting a building that already has much spirit encased in it’s walls since the late 1800’s! * I had dinner in the restaurant - it is elegant & very pricey, but the quality was top notch. Service in the restaurant was excellent and I was not dismissed for turning up in trainers ( I had not planned to be there :) ) * The bathroom products in the room amenities felt more natural than the usual highly scented chemical laden products in most hotels which I really appreciated * Thoughtful snacks & beverages in the room - LOVED the kettle & the coffee tea choices! * Bed, pillows & Quilt on point - perfect. What I was disappointed in for the $$: * King room was very small and literally the bed was beside the door exposing you to everyones conversations as they pass through the corridor. The wallpaper showed lots of stains, as well as carpet. The bathroom looked like it was renovated but tiny with nowhere to place your wash items. Practically a little shelf is needed in small bathroom for personal wash items so that wash items are not placed on the floor. Bathroom was not 100% clean unfortunately (hairs from previous people in the shower trap & a dirty small towel on a hook in the shower) * Even though it was quiet in the hotel, I could hear my neighbours TV & voices plus slamming doors when trying to sleep. This is a consideration for those who are noise sensitive. * I was explicitly told at check in; and on the in-room literature that though building renovations were happening they do not make noise until 10.30a.m. I saw many trademens outside my window from 8am & drilling/hammering at 8.15am. * I did not feel that this stay was value for money given the season & renovations. The room was akin to a 4 star honestly (minus the beautiful artwork/feather quilts & pillows) - and then the added stress of not having privacy to open my curtains in the morning as the builders were right there. This pushed me out early to get away from the noise and intrusion honestly at 9am. I was unaware with regard to the extensive hotel renovations, nor ownership and ethos until I arrived. I was given an orientation and details on the art pieces the owners have placed around the hotel. I loved this, as I am a creative, though you may need to qualify your guests and ask if they are interested in that level of information before giving them the lay of the land with regards to the art pieces in situ. I sense that some guests may feel overwhelmed at having that level of detail when they are weary from travel and just need to rest. I expressed my concern about morning noise, adding that I really need a peaceful place to rest. The room given looked out at a crane (with a blaring light on all night that beamed into the room) and a building site, but I was told that this was the best place for me - that building work only began at 10.30am. Alas, a restless night - as is to be expected in an old building the walls and doors are not soundproof. Banging doors; neighbours TV and voices and subsequently drilling on the site at 8.15 am in the morning got me out of there early. I’m unsure if I will return tom stay. Perhaps when the renovations are complete, and in room with a more attractive aspect.

- 795ciarank (10/5): Worth the long drive! - Stayed recently with other family members and had a most enjoyable time at the Park Hotel.We enjoyed lovely light lunch on arrival in lounge area and excellent dinner that night in main dining room. All the staff we encountered were friendly and most helpful. Excellent pool and sauna facility. Look forward to return visit and hopefully with better weather will get in a full round of golf at adjoining golf course. A big thank you to all the team!

I know previous review mentions revamp noise and maybe we were lucky it's didn't impact our stay and we were there for one night to celebrate my birthday. I found it peaceful there and the staff friendly and welcoming. I did the Art tour of all the artwork in the hotel which was great and purchased the book that details the artwork so I can revisit now I'm home. Complimentary tea and cake at 4pm in the lounge.relaxing piano playing and access to record player to play some tunes.Will return and stay longer.Thanks to Leo Linda and Johnathan for your hospitality.

Our room looked out unto a building site in which we were informed that the hotel was under some winter upgrade…. We went for an afternoon rest to the sound a jackhammer, wonderful, we were staying for three nights, such a mistake. We filled in the review which was left in our room & I gave to reception before check out. The manager who interacted with the couple who checked out before us quickly disappeared……… would I recommend this hotel - NO
- dopetrip (10/5): Perfect in Every Aspect - I stayed here for five nights over Christmas with friends and family—and it was the perfect holiday setting. The views were stunning—rolling green hills and water wrapped by incredible trail options. Close (1min walking distance) yet so secluded you wouldn’t even know it was there if you were strolling by. Our room was warm—spacious—and beautifully designed—elegant but comfortable. The bed was incredibly cozy—and the festive décor throughout the hotel made everything feel magical without being overdone. AMAZING PILLOWS & OUTLET/CHARGING OPTIONS The food was Michelin star/Tasting Menu worthy, the options are accommodating to all. Breakfast each morning was fresh and generous—and Christmas dinner felt genuinely special. Evenings in the bar by the fire—with great cocktails and occasional live music—were a highlight. The staff was ridiculously accommodating and enthusiastic. perfectly attentive without hovering. may be the best service i’ve ever had across the board What really made the stay—though—was the service. The staff were warm—attentive—and thoughtful in a way that felt natural—not forced. By the end of the trip—I didn’t want to leave. I’d absolutely return. The Negative: Apparently there is a new owner (company) who owns it and has changed (could be in the process of making more changes) from classic decor and art to modern art & decor. This is in stark contrast to the ambience of the entire stay and feel and kind if sticks out like a sore thimb—very distracting and unappealing.

We had issues with balcony doors in two different rooms before being upgraded to a wonderful master suite. While the final room was perfect, the move process took over two hours of waiting in the second day. We would have appreciated better communication regarding the delay so we didn't waste our time. Overall, the suite made up for the trouble, but the logistics could be smoother

It was as a fantastic experience to stay in the hotel. Our room was amazing, big, airy and spotless. All members of staff were extremely efficient and friendly. We ate in the restaurant on one of the nights, the food and service were stunning. Breakfast every morning was very pleasant with a very extensive range of menu options. Would definitely recommend the Park Hotel and would hopefully return someday.

- padraigc2026 (10/5): Better than ever - I had not been at The Park for a few years, and was interested to see how its design refresh and new ownership had changed it. All for the better. The design update is incremental and successful, and the new owners’ modern art collection, on display around the hotel, is very (surprisingly?) effective against the more old-world backdrop. Staff very friendly and welcoming as always, and the food has moved up a few notches - very good.

We got such a warm welcome from Mark and Grace O’Connor , the General Manager, the minute we stepped inside the door. The ambiance is just gorgeous and was filled with twinkling Christmas lights. We had lovely sea view rooms with comfortable beds and wonderfully comfortable pillows. All in all a fabulous stay and a genuine welcome.

- SFox8 (10/5): A beautiful Oasis - We stayed for 2 nights as part of our friend's birthday celebrations. The team were extremely welcoming, the complimentary drink on arrival was a lovely touch. Our room overlooked the lakes, it was very spacious, warm and quiet. The bathroom was huge and had a bath which I love. The building is beautiful with period features and a wonderful art collection. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff were attentive and friendly. Dinner was delicious and the little bar was just gorgeous. Overall we had a great stay, the spa is undergoing renovation at the moment and I would definitely like to return when it is completed to try those facilities. I did however have a massage which was excellent, this was done in a room in the hotel while the spa work is completed. Overall the hotel is a lovely oasis, in a beautiful place with a team who try very hard to ensure your stay is enjoyable.

The team were all so friendly and genuinely kind. I was also on book tour for my novel about Hazel Lavery so the Park Hotel offered the perfect respite between book signings in nearby towns. We won't be waiting ten years to return. xo
- franhB2587ZT (10/5): ART AT THE PARK - My brother in law who is a brilliant photographer told us about an exhibition on At Art in the Park (Park hotel kenmare ) drove down on a wet night . Only to see this most magnificent building and we were met by a Fantastic host called Johnathan, who was most engaging and welcoming and gave us an indepth tour of the entire works on display. Every member of staff we engaged with were amazing and welcoming. I have to admire any entrepreneur that is willing to open this amazing venue to the public, and not keep it exclusively for the rich and privileged people of society. It was the Gilles Caron exhibition we went to view, however we were privileged to view Warhol and Scully, etc, pieces also. Beautiful experience and praise to opening the doors at last to the Kenmare Park Hotel, art is to be embraced by all members of society. - cmangum (10/5): Kenmare at the Park Hotel are the PERFECT choices! - We absolutely LOVED this hotel. We were most likely one of many couples trying to decide whether to stay in Killarney or Kenmare. I read forum after forum and review after review trying to decide. Ultimately we decided on Kenmare and this beautiful property. After spending several days there we really were happy with this decision. We spent some time in Killarney and although it is stunningly beautiful, it was much more of a larger town with a very touristy feel. Not to say that there’s anything wrong with that because it was delightful, but Kenmare was much quieter and perfect for what we were looking for. We were elated with our choice from the moment we arrived. The location is ideal whether you are exploring the town which is a short stroll away or heading out to drive the ROK. Its such a perfectly lovely location. We had booked ourselves into a Bay Suite with Terrace. We loved everything about the room. The decor was a refined elegance. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was ideal and bath products were amazing. The room was very spacious. It had a nice terrace outside overlooking the lake which we used often. It was simply a very comfortable room that thoroughly enhanced our stay. Just like many luxury properties it’s really the staff that makes your experience go from great to exceptional. This was exactly the case here at this property. Everywhere you turned the staff members were there to help you and make sure your trip was delightful. It all starts with the doorman who were so gracious and friendly. I definitely have to call out another staff member in particular, the bartender Rob. Wow, did we have fun each evening with him. We had never met anyone that knew so much about Irish whiskey. He was such a lovely person and so much fun to chat with each evening. We loved how warm and friendly he was. It was really sad the last night saying goodbye. We dined at the Landline restaurant for breakfast each morning and dinner one evening. The food was terrific and the service provided was excellent. We loved how close the hotel was to the neighboring golf course. We simply walked out of our room and were at the clubhouse within 2 minutes. When in Kenmare it would be ashame not to try other restaurants as well. We would highly recommend dining at Mulcahy's and the Lime Tree Inn next door to the hotel. Both had amazing atmospheres and the food was fabulous! As stated above, we were so elated with our choice of hotel, especially for this region. The ROK is such an iconic Irish destination that you want to have a perfect hotel to accompany this adventure and the Park Hotel Kenmare was just that! If and when we do make it back to this region, we will without a doubt stay here again!
- Connector48294264259 (2/5): Nice setting. Very disappointing spa - Spa is so disappointing. Were never even informed that there was a larger pool. Changing rooms were freezing the relaxation room was beyond Baltic no way anybody could relax in it. Swimsuits all destroyed from residue that came off in the outdoor hottubs. We did receive money back due to the bad experience but unfortunately just doesn’t make up for the let down experience for what was meant to be a very special occasion. Your money also goes a lot further in other spa’s for a nicer experience

Spacious, beautifully decorated room with stunning view over the bay. Overall the hotel has a relaxed well cared for vibe, current upgrade to the spa facilities did not detract from our enjoyment at all and will be fabulous when completed. Tara the owner spoke to us at breakfast and even offered some tips for our drive that day- nice touch! Some fabulous art works on display. The food is also excellent but the top prize must go to all the staff for their genuine warmth and friendliness. Well done, you deserved the 2 Michelin keys awarded when we were there. Already looking forward to returning.
- EI1212TomC (10/5): Great Stay in Kenmare - Great location, a short walk from the beautiful town of Kenmare with its excellent restaurants, bars, music and historic stone circle. Spacious, comfortable rooms with great breakfast and fine dining. Right on Kenmare Bay with lovely walks and views. We spent three nights and loved every minute. Ideally located for trips around the Ring of Beara or heading back to Killarney and it's great attractions. In particular the Park has excellent, friendly, knowledgeable staff and they give great attention to all the guests. The Park Kenmare employees fully deserve the 2025 Michelin award of 2 Keys. The hotel is currently updating it's Spa area and that will add an even better experience for future visits

- B5405EDcamillec (10/5): The Park Hotel checked all the boxes for this picky traveler! - First off, I'm definitely a picky traveler and this hotel checked all my boxes!! The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The service was excellent. For instance, my husband rented a bike and it was pouring rain the night he was to pick it up and the concierge took him to the bike shop, waited for him while the bike got set-up for him and then took him back and they stored the bike for him! Our room was great! We got a deluxe supreme and it had a beautiful view with lots of space to lay out luggage. The bed was fresh and comfortable!! The bathroom had two sinks which we really appreciated and lots of places to set things and hang things. The shower was a little small but they made up for it with the tub size. And they did special things like they do homemade scones that are the best we had in Ireland and you can pretty much get a scone and tea anytime you ask. They also did a different cake each afternoon so you could relax in one of the sitting rooms and enjoy cake and tea. The breakfast everyday was excellent with lots of choices. The staff were really good about attending to any request we had. And the location couldn't get any better. You can leave the property and take a right or left and be right in the town of Kenmare which is super charming. We're definitely going to be back because of both The Park Hotel and the town of Kenmare.

We had a great welcome with a glass of rose on arrival. The spa however needs some attention. On the day we were there, the boiler was not working properly and the thermal pool was not warm. The bottles were empty in the shower area and the spa staff were somewhat brusque.

I must say the waiter Jude was excellent and he saw clearly how bad it was. I regret we did not return same. I could have cried going home to killarney and all the restaurants hotels we have so wonderful no chef in the kitchen for sure. Fabulous food. The best scones I have had anywhere in Ireland. The restaurant is really excellent also, for a great breakfast, but most especially for dinner. Free coffee, tea, and cake late afternoons in one of the lovely public spaces. Steps from great restaurants and shopping in town. We would definitely want to come back.

El restaurante es un Relais & Chateaux por lo tanto, comida de calidad alta pero poca cantidad en el plato. En el desayuno tuvimos que irnos despues a un supermercado a comprarnos comida porque estabamos hambrientos. Un hotel de este precio tendria que tener desayuno buffet y no lo que hacen actualmente. Las camas muy incomodas, colchon muy duro.

- CATravelBuff (8/5): Mixed Feelings - This is a stunning hotel in a great location. Their scones are tasty and they have a truly fabulous spa. Our room was okay--nothing special. Sadly, I can't give the hotel five stars because something about the service here is cold and affected. Not everyone, of course, but that impression was my biggest takeaway, which should never be the case at a hotel of this caliber.

- Q6289QYdavidm (4/5): Lacking finesse lacking the five star experience more two star hotel in Margate in October - I have to admit, I'm disappointed writing this as I knew this Hotel in a previous incarnation I went to meet Friends / business meeting that ended up lasting an hour and a half Now...here we go Windows were dirty when I say dirty, they had been washed but not properly cleaned afterwards left stains running down the window distracting from the beautiful view Tables were dirty and stained, floor was covered in crumbs previous guests. The entrance doors had gathered black dirt between the them the first thing that greets you The staff very pleasant as always but there uniforms were actually tread bear ! and dirty with stains which kept grabbing my attention along with there dirty shoes You could overlook it just about because their personalities were very good warm and friendly. This is not acceptable at this level. At this price point and level, I guess they're living off their past history for the moment. My opinion, what a mess they're more interested in artwork and waffle talk than they basic standards if I want to know about Art, I'll ask, I wandered into the restaurant to see dirty tables and half eaten food - all in all I was embarrassed at meeting people in there , grant you the coffee was very nice along with the selection of biscuits they could improve on the presentation, though So that's the end of my honest review of the Park Hotel Kenmare it wasn't very busy the day I was there, I fear the management are not up to the job of a five star hotel . I have no doubt I'll find myself in The Park Hotel again and I will verbally tell the manager or the owner my opinion on their low standards -
- siirisroses (10/5): Excellent. - Outstanding. The staff was friendly and attentive. Rooms are spacious, clean and classy (with a large wonderful bathroom). Pool and spa was the greatest part. Quiet, very classy and a great sauna (even for us Finns!). Grounds were large and beautiful. Piano player and the fireplace on the lobby were a great touch. Location was great.
- Ryan (10/5): - Incredible hotel and wonderful staff! Beautiful evening at their restaurant as well as the food was excellent. Only frustration is that our room did not have air conditioning. Only some rooms have AC but our door opened which allowed plenty of air flow from outside.
- William (10/5): - For property that was opened up in the 1800s, there are modern conveniences and amenities. Location is perfect, the staff is friendly and nice, and the spa is over the top. The building is very old, but everything else gets an A+ plus. there was a concert of instrumental musicians in the lobby on the night that I arrived, which was extraordinary.

- Notsouglyamerican61 (8/5): Meh - We really wanted to love this place. But there are some issues. To begin, there seems to be a lack of staff at check in. We did get help with our luggage, but the person who helped us seemed like he was alone. Fine person but overworked. Granted, there was a Backroads bike group staying at the hotel that kind of took over the lobby, so that might have explained the chaos, but it sure seemed a bit disjointed. We were offered something to drink on arrival but nothing non-alcoholic. We had a late lunch in the parlor and that was lovely. Many times when we went to the front desk, it was unoccupied. The front office staff seems to retreat to an office that is out of sight. Our room was quite spacious, with a sitting area and then a bedroom. There was some sort of varnish-like smell in our room that was quite strong throughout our visit. We kept the windows open, but it was not pleasant. The restaurant needs more food options. What they offer is good but limited. A few basic dishes would have been welcome. The servers were very pleasant, although they too seemed overworked. The second night we were there, music emanating from below our room kept us up well after midnight. We were just above the dining room. Spoke to night manager who we had difficulty communicating with (and who had loud music on in the background as well). He said he would address it but it took more calls to get it handled. The music finally stopped, but then the sound of tables and chairs being slid around on the floor below us followed. More calls required to address. Not a luxury hotel experience. We complained the next day and the manager did not charge us for that night and also gave us breakfast on the house. Said that should put it behind us. There was a feeling of being gouged for diet cokes, and they were very cheap on the amount of Blue Bottle coffee that they provided. They should be passing it out to get people to try it, but they only provide 2 simgle serve packs per day for the room. My first time trying it, and liked it very much. Kudos to the owner for helping bring it to market. Stingy, though. On the whole, the prices are 5 star (v expensive) but there is a mismatch in value. We did have some lovely weather to drive to the Beara Penninsula, and Garinish island, so the hotel is well located for that.

- bethaV5054DA (6/5): It's Lost its Charm! - This was my third visit to The Park Hotel and my first since the change in ownership. First off, I missed the green canopy over the entrance. It added charm and elegance to the building, and was functional as well, offering some protection from the frequent Irish rain. To me the front of the building now looks drab. On our last trip (2023), our family had their photo taken in front of the canopy as a memento of our stay. As another reviewer stated, I did not care for the modern paintings that have replaced paintings that went with the style and age of the building. We did like our room and the staff were attentive as usual. The scones and lattes are still delicious! The dinner offerings did not seem as good as I remembered. The delicious strawberry soufflé I remember from 2016 has been replaced with a minuscule apple soufflé that was unremarkable. There did seem to be a lot of mixups in the dining room. One morning we were served duplicates of everything. When I asked for a glass of almond milk, I got a latte. At dinner, my husband asked for a coffee offering on the menu and got something different. When he stated that was not what he ordered, it was discovered that what he ordered is no longer an offering, but was still on the menu. Last of all, I missed the stuffed sheep on the bed! They were so cute and fit a stay in Ireland with the ever-present sheep. On one stay, the housekeeper would place mine in different poses every day and left it holding the survey on the last day. This was a special place for my family. My parents had visited in the 1990s and my father wrote in a memory book for our daughter that it was a "very grand place, but yet very homey." Now 3 generations of our family have visited. I am sad that it has lost its homey touch. Francis and John Brennan had a flair for running this hotel that sadly seems to be lacking at present. We are glad our daughter was with us in 2023 to see it the way my father remembered it. Upon leaving this trip, my husband and I agreed that we have no desire to return.

- Michael (8/5): Beautiful Property - The hotel is beautiful, my room was very spacious and comfortable. The gardens were also well maintained and cared for. My staff was good, the hotel certainly is beautiful. However, I had order a room with a balcony and given one that did not. Though at check-out I was told the room assigned was an upgrade, I was disappointed with this occurrence without informing me at check-in.

- Sharmee (6/5): Called in for there coffee.... - We haven't been in the park in 11 yrs which we stayed in a couple of times. I was disappointed in the refurb.But that's personal taste. We called in for there blue bottle coffee best in Europe. Sadly it was average and it was Luke warm. The waiter brought the scones which where nice. I had to ask for side plates and knives to butter them. We weren't even given napkins for the younger ones. So 5 star service this was not and I had being longing to get back for an adults spa weekend after the many wonderful stays there before kids but after this its lost its appeal sadly.
- 57SAM57 (10/5): Irish Charm & Beauty at its best! - The Park Hotel Kenmare is a gorgeous, relaxing hotel in the most exquisite setting. Charming doesn't begin to describe it. The location can't be matched being right at the end of the town's main street. You literally are steps away from everything the town has to offer. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean with a view of the bay. We had a tub and separate walk in shower with lots of hot water. The spa is quite beautiful and tranquil and wonderful after hiking Kerry Way. Highly recommend the spa relaxation room and their swimming pool too. All the hotel staff were very friendly and a special shout out to Mark, Sulamiet, Allie at the front desk and Joanna in the spa who made us feel very welcome. The Park Hotel is like stepping back in time to a more relaxing and serene pace of life. We definitely hope to return in the future as we definitely fell in love with Kenmare and the Park Hotel.

- LindsayPaige (10/5): Beautiful Property in the Heart of Kenmare - We enjoyed a lovely one-night stay at the Park Kenmare. The hotel is well-appointed and the property is gorgeous. You will have access to trails that bring you through gardens and down to the water. It's really very pretty. The grounds are meticulously maintained with beautiful flowers and plants. Whoever is in charge of landscaping deserves a hat tip. It's a really pretty place to spend some time. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and bright. We enjoyed the sitting area outside - they may want to consider umbrellas for rain or sun. The room temperature was perfect for us, a welcome change as it was unseasonably warm and Irish hotels tend to run hot. The spa is fantastic and worthy of another trip. The thermal suites and amenities, especially the edge pool outside, are high-end and ultra luxe. The staff are helpful and friendly; my massage treatment was excellent. I hope to return someday relatively soon for a whole spa weekend with multiple services. It's a destination worth considering for Samas alone, but Kenmare town makes it even better. The hotel is a quick walk to town. Kenmare is small, but worth exploring. We enjoyed live music at Crowley's. We did have cocktails at the bar. My spouse said it was the best Negroni on this trip. I enjoyed a martini. The piano in the sitting room was a nice touch. The service was friendly. This was a big hiking trip for us, so we arrived disheveled with only backpacks. They didn't bat an eye! They also pointed us in the right direction for our hike back to Killarney on the Old Kenmare Road. If we had to give any constructive feedback, it would be that the service staff at breakfast fell short. They need to let you know if things need to be ordered a certain way. For example, we ordered yogurt and fruit (this is exactly how it's described on the menu), but we only got a bowl of yogurt. The waiter never checked up on it and we didn't want to hunt him down. I ended up putting the jam on the table in my yogurt. Other tables had toast and bread (presumably why there was jam on the table), but we did not receive any and we were not asked if we wanted any. Did we need to order that special? We don't know because it was never explained to us. It felt like there was a secret breakfast menu ordering technique that we failed to realize. Overall, a lovely stay with compelling reasons to return. We regret we could not stay longer and hope to visit again.

- heffo2013 (2/5): Dreadful experience - We visited last Saturday with very high expectations as we have previously dined in the hotel whilst with the previous owners. I don’t know what to say except that everything remained the same ie, the scenery and the beauty of the hotel however the quality of the lunch we received and the manner in which our constructive criticism was handled would lead me to think that this hotel is not as it was.. We were only having lunch but were about to book a few days in the hotel as were staying nearby and when we received our food it was only barely warm but our chips were stone cold. By the time we could catch a member of staff to advise of our issue it was too late. We had eaten what we could but no point in giving fresh chips when it was too late. The member of staff that we raised the issue with apologised and said “they would note our issues” and decided not to charge us for one drink??????? Not satisfied with this attitude my husband spoke to a manager who advised he was a brother of the person who owned the hotel, he asked my husband where we were from and was told “Carlow” and said the next time you are “passing by” contact me ( he gave his telephone number). Honestly when do you, if you live in Carlow pass by Kenmare?. For a 5 star hotel with 5 star prices this was not the attitude that we expected. Truly not good enough for a hotel with the esteem of the “Park Hotel Kenmare”. Poor food, dreadful attitude and ridiculous reaction from management. So let down.

The other hotels I booked for my stay in Ireland were very understanding and had no problem canceling my reservation. The Park Hotel is clearly only interested in making money. Poor customer service and you can’t even find their cancellation policy on their website!!

- 423anv (10/5): Marvelous time at the Park Hotel - My husband and I had a marvelous time at the Park Hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were warmly greeted by the hotel staff the moment our car pulled into the parking lot, the manager personally helped with the check in when observing that I was not feeling well and we got to our room swiftly so I could rest. On the coffee table was the welcome gift and a bottle of champagne chilled in ice. We enjoyed the gorgeous view of the garden and water from our spacious bedroom, a sumptuous served breakfast and a wonderful dinner at the hotel restaurant Landline. We appreciate the warm hospitality and excellent services provided and highly recommend the Park Hotel.

- 164sineadl (10/5): Peaceful - Not long back from one night stay here. Such a beautiful hotel with amazing grounds around it . Vitality pool with steam rooms nearby was amazing and really relaxing. Our bedroom was massive, spotlessly clean with amazing views out over the lake. Staff from arrival to the garden room, bar and landline were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious.

- ThomasHeeney (10/5): Charming luxury hotel full of personal touches - I have recently returned from my second stay at the Park Hotel for 3 Nights while cycling around Kerry. From check in all staff are incredibly welcoming and are so proud of the hotel. The hotel is full of personality which is often missing in other luxury hotels. The new owners have added some beautiful additions to the hotel, the stunning artwork throughout the hallway is a must see. Dinner in Landline restaurant was perfect with the best of local ingredients, and huge wine menu that is reasonably priced. The Blue Bottle Coffee is the most extensive coffee menu and best tasting coffee i have had in hotels Worldwide. The peaceful rooms had stunning views of the bay and extremely comfortable beds. I look forward to making a return visit.

The standard of service from check-in to check-out was friendly, relaxed and made us feel very much at home. The well furnished bedroom had a separate sitting area overlooking the grounds and beautiful Kenmare bay. The breakfasts are excellent and our dinner in the Landline restaurant was superb and all served by the very friendly and professional staff. A walk in the grounds around the bay is a must and we would recommend taking a tour of the art collection with one of the very knowledgeable staff members.

- Patrick (9/5): Just enough to feel special. - Very relaxed atmosphere. It had the atmosphere of "just enough' without the opulence which, is unnecessary. Spar was great. Food excellent. Staff were down to earth and friendly which is all you want. We were disturbed during the evening and night by a neighbour snoring and conversations from others.

Hotel called after booking confirmation to change the price by putting nightly surcharges on the children. Disappointing that this hotel believes it can bait and swap a booking.
