• Nastia93 (4/5): - The view from the room. A few minutes walk from the main street of Calafate. Nice looking hall, lots of authentic wooden details. 1. Breakfast was a joke. For the price you pay there was literally nothing to eat there. As we came to the dining room, all we saw on the counter was hot water, apples and watermelon. It took another 10 min for a gentleman from the service to come and kindly ask us whether we wanted anything more for breakfast, as if there had been something to choose from before😂 Later he brought 2 plates with a few slices of cheapest toast bread, butter, jams and one scrambled egg for each. The other day we didn't even bother waking up for such a breakfast and had to double pay for it in the city. Btw breakfasts until 9:30 a.m. are also quite uncomfortable for most tourists. They should be at least till 10 a.m. according to international hospitality standards. 2. No window blinds or AC in rooms. As we checked in on a sunny day, it was literally impossible to stay or fall asleep in the room, as it was so hot and stuffy. 3. Too much personal data that you have to reveal about yourself at check-in. I'm aware of some of the mandatory procedures imposed by the Argentinian government, but out of 7 places we stayed in during our Argentinian trip, it was the only place squeezing out so much sensitive data from us. 4. The obligation to leave the key to your room at reception desk every time you leave. Those keys literally lie there unsupervised, so anybody could grab them and enter your room while you're not there. No safe in the room, all based on trust, which is not really enough when you come with passports, credit cards and lots of cash for a 3-week trip, in my opinion. 5. No TP refills by the cleaning service. I had to go downstairs to reception to ask for tp. 6. Too few sockets in the room. Just one available. Given how many devices you have to charge overnight, this is nothing.

Отель на букинге заявлен как 3 звезды, но это очень старый хостел с картонными дверьми, подушками из поролона, неисправной сантехникой и пр. Мы платили за номер 100$/сутки, что было выше чем аналогичные отели, купившись на фото и высокий рейтинг. Реальная цена комнаты 20$ и даже в самый пик сезона просто не может стоить больше 50$

• Viktor (6/5): - The view from the hotel is very good and the staff were helpful. Weird policy if leaving the keys at the reception when going out. Breakfast was not good, and the hotel would charge additionally for things like filling a bottle with hot water. No kettle in the room, or anything like that. All in all it didn't feel like good value for the money to me, but options in El Calafate were very limited.

• Ricardo (9/5): - This is a family owned B&B and the owner is accessible and very helpful. He and his staff make you feel right at home. All rooms have a spectacular views of Lago Argentino and it is a few blocks away from downtown Calafate. The breakfast is good with homemade bread and it is plenty to start your day. Loved staying here.

Schöne Aussicht vom Hotel und in 10 Gehminuten ist man bei der Hauptstrasse. Frühstück war auch gut. Sehr altes Haus und deshalb auch sehr hellhörig. Das Zimmer war schmutzig, überall lagen schwarze lange Haare (Bett, Dusche, Boden).

Las recomendaciones que nos dieron de restaurantes fueron increíbles. La vista al lago es un 10, está muy cerca de todo. El desayuno era muy completo y el lugar donde se toma muy pintoresco. La cama era grande y cómoda. Muy recomendable, volveríamos seguro ! No es comentario negativo, solo hay que tener un poquito de paciencia para que se caliente el agua cuando te vas a dar una ducha, pero es normal.

Les espaces communs nous ont vraiment donné l’impression d’être un peu comme à la maison. Le lit était très confortable, tout était impeccable et l’endroit est très calme. Le petit-déjeuner était excellent. Le personnel, adorable et bienveillant, a même pris le temps de nous aider à organiser des excursions. Une très belle expérience !

• carolyn (9/5): Great views over El Calafate! - The view is totally spectacular looking out over the city of El Calafate and it is convenient to walk down the hill to the main street with shops and restaurants in town. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful– especially Pablo who carried suitcases as well as cooked an excellent breakfast! The breakfast room is enclosed in glass with views over the city and Lake Argentina. You could even pay $15 US to have a bag of your laundry washed, dried and folded which we really needed. I highly recommend staying there for a good value for your money. The beds are very firm and didn’t have the nice down quilts that keep you really warm. I got cold at night and slept in my down vest and wool socks. I probably could have asked for another blanket, but didn’t so it was my own fault that I was cold.

• Livia (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful view, great breakfast, upper friendly hosts. The hotel is a bit away from the downtown area, 10 minutes walking, not bad exercise;).
• Chris (6/5): Great view, bad breakfast, not so friendly. - Great view. Warm shower and a bathtub. Bed was comfortable. They had an adapter for U.S. and Euro plug ins. Breakfast was a big disappointment. The "coffee" was a watery "instant coffee" version, the "orange juice" was a powdered and colored sugar water (like Tang), the milk was a thin, powdered version, the only cereal was a white sugar flake. The owner, however, had his nice coffee maker nearby, that he used for himself (NOT for guests). When asked for a cup of coffee from his machine - the answer was flat out NO. As you enter the breakfast area there is a big sign that says "500 Reis for hot water". Not welcoming at all. Overall, we felt like commodities more than guests. As if the owner is trying to get the maximum amount of money while providing the least amount of service and value.

Quartos espaçosos, cama confortável, roupa de cama sempre limpa, calefação em perfeito estado, banheiro com ótimo espaço, chuveiro muito bom, toalhas sempre limpas. Café da manhã gostoso, preparado todos os dias com muito carinho. O atendimento é maravilhoso, todos muito atenciosos, prestativos, sempre a disposição para ajudar... dicas valiosas sobre a cidade e restaurantes. Nos sentimos em casa, muito longe de casa... A vista do quarto é maravilhosa, parece que você está vendo um quadro todos os dias e com atendimento sensacional. Quero dar muita enfase ao atendimento e simpatia de toda a equipe, com certeza é recomendado para qualquer pessoa.
• David (6/5): Fair for the price and lovely views - Good value, warm and comfortable bed. Easy walking distance of restaurants in the town via a steep hill. Views were also lovely of the lake. Breakfast could be improved with a couple of things - maybe an alternative to very sweet sugared cereal and some nice jams / marmalades would be good. Maybe cheese/ham for those who don’t eat eggs?

• Charles (8/5): A simple but totally worth it stay that left us with some amazing photos and memories! - We spent a quick night at this hostel and were totally blown away by the incredible views from up on the hill!! Sure its pretty basic accommodation but what really impressed us was how our room had these amazing panoramic views of El Calafate - definitely makes the climb up worth it! The staff was super friendly and helpful, and we were surprised by how clean and spacious our room was considering the price point. Yeah theres nothing fancy here but honestly when your waking up to those views who needs luxury? Whether your looking to save some money or just want the best views in town, this place delivers exactly what you need.

Every room, as well as the cozy, plant-filled common area, had a stunning view over El Calafate and Lago Argentina. Desk staff were lovely and helpful. Take their restaurant recommendations seriously; we visited two of their recommendations, and both were top-notch and well-priced. Bright, glass-walled breakfast room. Just a short walk into the centre of town. Great value compared to the high-end hotel down the street (where we also stayed, as part of a tour). We wish we could have stayed here longer than one night. Highly recommended.

Anyway, the last time to leave calafate feels terrible.😢

• Samara (2/5): Minha pior estadia em El Calafate. - Logo na chegamos fomos recebidos pelo proprietário que estava jogando pedras nos cachorros na frente da propriedade. Os cachorros não estavam fazendo nada. O propritario se recusou a ligar o aquecedor. Os quarto só tem a cama para dormir, não tem frigobar, não tem TV, nada. O café é péssimo. Já fui 2 vezes em El Calafate e me hospedei em 5 hotéis, sem dúvidas foi o pior de todos.

• Marie-Pierre (4/5): Great views nothing more - Perched on a hill with its rooms facing the lake, views are great. However, noise travel upslope and there are an awful lot of dogs around barking (more than normal in our 2 months of travel). Also very windy and difficult to have the window open. Our room on the 3rd floor was overlooking straight above the reception area, which added a level of noise. At check-in we mentioned our concerns and she assured us it would be quiet. She was plain lying. Very noisy, you can follow all conversations. Breakfast was good with fresly made eggs on demand with a basket of freshly baked small muffins and a variety of croissant and bread. Fresh fruit available too. The one downside is that both my husband and I caught an i testinal bug and we think it had to be from the ice cubes in the morning juice.

• S (10/5): Loved our stay - What a nice hotel! Loved the view from our room. The parking is in front of the hotel and the restaurants/shops are all within walking distance. The breakfast was also really nice.
• Angie (10/5): Excellent option in El Calafate - The hotel is well-located less than a 10 minute walk to the main strip but in a very quiet area just uphill. If you don't like walking uphill or downhill this may not be the place for you, but I found it very convenient. The room is clean and simple, pillows are comfortable, water is hot. The breakfast is great, it actually includes a small portion of eggs with the usual pastries and tea/coffee. The view from the breakfast room over the town and onto the lake beyond is gorgeous.

• Andre (3/5): Poor - The manager was very helpful making a booking for a day trip to the glaciers. He also recommended a very good restaurant. This place has got so much potential but unfortunately the owner does not realise it. It is old and fairly run down. You end up feeling a bit cheated because it is not real value for money.

• BERTHA (10/5): Vistas preciosas con todo lo necesario. - Tiene todo lo necesario, muy limpio, desayuno suficiente y rico, muy buen servicio tanto en desayunador como en la entrada, solo no nos rellenaron el jabón en toda la estancia (4 días) y tuve que comprar uno, pero es algo mínimo. La vista desde el hotel es inmejorable

• Hans (4/5): Not value for money. - To be honest, I think it is not a great place. The name B&B is misleading, the building feels more like a hostel with 2-persons rooms. There are signs everywhere of things you are not allowed to do and fines you will get. Even though this might be necessary it really does not give a warm feeling for $130 per night🙃. The building is noisy, there was a lot happening in the hallway in morning and evening.

• Madhusudhan (10/5): Fabulous stay at South B&B, El Calafate - We had a great stay at South B&B in El Calafate. The place is conveniently located close to town and with easy access to all the shops and restaurants within a short walking distance to the Main Street. The breakfast served at the hotel each morning was super fabulous. We had a great time at this hotel.
